This document outlines the contents and goals of a first year high school religion course. The course focuses on how God revealed himself to the Israelites and calls people into a special relationship. It presents how God called the Israelites to salvation, and how the same is happening for students today. The course aims to help students appreciate God's love and presence now, and deepen their faith and love for him through studying the Bible. It contains 12 chapters organized into 4 units covering biblical creation stories, the fall of man, God's plan of salvation, dealing with struggles, and hoping for fulfillment through God's promises.

*This First Year course, the introduction to the
four year HS religion program, focuses on how
God began to reveal Himself to His chosen
people and to call them into a special
relationship of Friendship. It also presents how
God called the Israelites to Salvation-how these
same old testament accounts, He is doing the
same for us today. It also invites the students
to become participants and not just spectators,
so they will come to appreciate God’s
redeeming presence and love for them now, to
deepen their LOVE and FAITH in Him through
the BIBLE.
