organic ma�er that cannot be easily degraded by na�ve microorganisms. With the applica�on of OS3, the enzymes rapidly
liquefy organic waste such as grease and fats, protein, hydrocarbons, starches and detergents.
Waste Water research scien�sts es�mate that only 5-10% of
the na�ve microbes in a waste treatment facility contribute to
the treatment process. The rest compete for available oxygen
and nutrients. OS3 blend has specifically selected bacteria that
increase the percentage of the “performing” bacteria within the
treatment plant, thereby increasing the overall results from the
plant.
Research around the world has determined and documented
that different blends of bacteria degrade organic ma�er at
different rates. In STP/ETPs the most common bacteria are ones
that arrive with the fecal ma�er. Most waste
treatment plants are designed around the BOD loading
formulas for the fecal bacteria, even though these species of
microbes are amongst the least efficient degraders.
Bioaugmenta�on of OS3 in the waste treatment plant works on
the principle of compe��ve inhibi�on. OS3 is added to
outnumber the na�ve microbes so that they cannot
successfully compete for the available nutrients and oxygen.
This greatly restricts their growth and results in rapid
mul�plica�on of OS3 beneficial microbes. OS3 is extremely
effec�ve in reducing BOD, COD, FOG, and reducing odor and
sludge deposits.
