3. II. INTRODUCTION
Expected of professional teachers who care for and
embark on continuing professional development is a promotion
along the way. This course wont be complete without a
discussion of an effective leader and manager for which you will
be in the future. But should you refuse offer for managerial or
leadership position in the school or in the bigger educational
organization because of the love for teaching and learners, this
lesson on organizational leadership won't be laid to waste
because even as a teacher you are ready a leader and a manager.
You are a teacher and a class or classroom manager.

9. 1. The autocratic leader or X leader’s
major task is to command or give orders
and assume that people will follow. In this
way, he gets things done fast. This does
not mean that he creates an atmosphere
of hostility or negativism but rather
sureness of will.
10. 2. Democratic Leader – one who
emphasizes on his subordinates
their authority to make decisions
and abide by such decisions with
no exceptions.
3. Consultative Leader – this requires a high degree of
involvement from employees but it is clear that they alone
have the authority to make the final decisions.
11. Effective leaders adapt their leadership style to the
situation of the members of the of the organization, to
the readiness and willingness of group members.
13. Transformational leadership combines charisma,
inspirational leadership, and intellectual stimulation to
introduce innovation for the transformation of the
organization.
14. For the reforms to transform, the innovations by
the transformational leader must be institution and
sustained.
