 My organization study was done at Akay
Flavours, Pathanamthitta
 This company deals with production of
oleoresins, essential oils and natural colors of
spices like ginger, pepper, cardamom, chilly,
etc.
 The company is 100% export oriented company
OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
 To get an industrial exposure
 To learn functioning and operations of different
departments in an organization
 To get knowledge about the working culture of an
organization
 To understand the theory with practical
 To interact with highly qualified managers and study their
duties and responsibilities
 Recommend the findings of my study for the successful
implementation
 To know the industries expectations toward the
management students

 Founded in 15 April 1995 by A&P Group under the
company’s act 1956.
 A(Alex Koshy) & P(Rajendra Prasad) Group based in
Dubai, UAE
 Akay manufactures paprika and spice oleoresins, natural
essential oils, and natural colors for the global food
industry and it concentrating only in foreign market
 Akay has a worldwide presence with own warehouses
and sales offices in USA, Europe, China and Japan.
 The company has got IS0 9001:2008 certificates for its
quality

purchasing, selling and dealing in aromatic
compounds and flavours, essential oils and their
blends and derivation from spice herbs, fruit plants

WEAKNESS
 Product innovation is very poor as compared to the
competitors.
 Underutilization of installed capacity. The company have
huge machineries and well developed laboratories but they
are not using up to the installed capacity
 Product is seasonal.
 Batch production delays output
OPPORTUNITIES
 Globalization increased the opportunity for the export
extracts.
 The company can introduce of new branches all over the
world
 Product diversification is possible.
 Very few companies in the field.
 India is the largest producers in spices.
THREATS
 Increasing competition.
 Increasing price of raw materials.
 High manufacturing cost.
 The taste of customer is changing.
 Rules and financial policies in the exporting countries.
 Unpredictable strikes and new taxation policies.
FINDINGS
 The Company continuously strives to meet the
expectations of the customers.
 Every departments having huge responsibilities in their
respective areas.
 Co-operation between management and employees are
visible.
 The safety guidelines are not following strictly by the
employees .
 The Company is still modernized in many areas.
 Company is having highly qualified and experienced
managers.
 Rising production cost because of increasing expenditure.
 Unscientific pricing strategies.
 Welfare activities of Akay are noticed very innovative.
 The environment friendly activities are recommendable.
 The company has not faced any strike for past few years.
 Quality Assurance Performance makes the product
process more valuable
 Industry is expecting highly competent management
students for their future
SUGGESTIONS
 The company should follow fair pricing.
 Make the employees to follow the safety measures strictly
 Try to cut down the manufacturing cost by reducing
expenditures
 Only experienced adult male workers at danger machines.
 Provide awareness about the product to the general public
it will increase the sales of the company.
 Reduce the number of intermediaries in the distribution
channel to make the supply chain more efficient and
effective.
 Proper training should be given to the employees in
maintenance department and periodic coaching should be
provided to all employees as it helps in tactfully handle
the risks.
 Introduce latest technologies in the entire mechanisms.
 Encourage innovative promotional strategies to counter
the competitors
 Introduce innovative products according to the trend and
changing preferences of the customers
 Provide job opportunities for women also.
CONCLUSION
Although the organization study was very useful for my
study. I got some good idea about the actual working of one
organization and departments. And Akay Flavours and
Aromatics Pvt.Ltd is the best example in the state for the
best entrepreneurship
