1. ORDER CHIROPTERA
Order chiroptera includes true flying mammals
like bats.
The wings are just folds of skin extending
between the second digit of the fore limb and
tail.
The hind limbs are weak with five clawed digits
and knee is directed backwards.
The external ear or pinna is large and eyes are
small with very weak sight
eg:Pteropus , Pipistrellus
2. PTEROPUS

It is commonly called “flying fox”.
It is a common fruit eating bat found in India.
The body is covered with brown fur.
The snout is long and nose leaf is not present.
The wing or patagium is present.
3. The pinnae are comparatively small.
The tail is not included in the interfemoral
membrane.
It feeds on fruit like guavas,bananas and
mangoes.
