Scalable Infrastructure and Workflow for Anomaly DetectionAnshul Jindal
This paper addresses the challenge of identifying anomalies in a scalable way. The new data collected suffers from the problem of lack of labels for training. This challenge is addressed in the developed solution by using multiple unsupervised algorithms and reporting those observations as anomalies which are commonly reported as anomalies by all the algorithms. The developed solution also tackles the problem of data heterogeneity and big size by using Spark underneath for scalable data processing. Scalability test results demonstrate the reduction in training time of 100 transactions by 80\% when using 10 cores instead of using 1 core. The results of the study have also pointed out that increasing the number of cores does not necessarily mean reduction in the overall execution time, there are other factors like communications between the cores, non-spark related processing tasks, etc which can also influence the execution time.
Avoiding The Common Pitfall in DX ExecutionYokogawa1
Artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and digital twin are the decision support tools of the century. They have now become synonymous with digital transformation. On paper and at face value they deliver phenomenal value. But too many people ignore the hard data plumbing work that needs to precede any of these kinds of initiatives. The AI, ML and digital twin engines can be working fine, but still output poor answers, or not perform at the speed which they’re meant to. This is usually because the fundamental readiness step has been underestimated and not undertaken fully. With reference to various industry case studies, this presentation will explore the fundamental readiness steps of any DX initiative needed to be taken as well as several incremental “quick wins” to score on your way to a more advanced data landscape. The presentation will also opine on some consequences when the readiness step is insufficiently addressed.

Doing Analytics Right - Designing and Automating AnalyticsTasktop
There is no “one-sized fits all” of development analytics. It is not as simple as “here are the measures you need, go implement them.” The world of software delivery is too complex, and software organizations differ too significantly, to make it that simple. As discussed in the first webinar, the analytics you need depend on your unique business goals and environment.
That said, the design of your analytics solution will still require:
* The dashboards,
* the required data, and
* an appropriate choice of analytical techniques and statistics to apply to the data.
This webinar will describe a straightforward method for finding your analytic solution. In particular, we will explain how to adapt the Goal, Question, Metric (GQM) method to development processes. In addition, we will explain how to avoid “the light is brighter here” analytics anti-pattern: the idea that organizations tend to design metrics programs around the data they can easily get, rather than figuring out how to get the data they really need.
The Automation Firehose: Be Strategic & Tactical With Your Mobile & Web TestingPerfecto by Perforce
The widespread adoption of test automation has created many challenges — for everything from development lifecycle integration to scripting strategy.
One pitfall of automation is that teams often rush to automate everything they can. This is the automation firehose.
However, just because a scenario CAN be automated does not mean it SHOULD be automated. For scenarios that should be automated, teams must adopt implementation plans to ensure tests are reliable and deriving value.
Join this webinar led by Perfecto’s Chief Evangelist, Eran Kinsbruner, along with Thomas Haver, Manager of Automation & Delivery. In this session, the audience will:
-Understand which test scenarios to automate.
-Learn how to maximize the benefits of automation.
-Receive a checklist to determine automation feasibility and ROI.
7 Steps to Build a SOC with Limited ResourcesLogRhythm
Most organizations don't have the resources to staff a 24x7 security operations center (SOC). This results in events that aren't monitored around the clock, major delays in detecting and responding to incidents, and the inability for the team to proactively hunt for threats. It's a dangerous situation.
But there is a solution. By using the Threat Lifecycle Management framework to combine people, process, and technology to automate manual tasks, your team can rapidly detect and respond to threats—without adding resources. Read on to learn 7 steps to building your SOC, even when your resources are limited.
Hospitals currently use a manual system for visiting Doctor Slip as a token. The current system
requires numerous paper forms, with data stores spread throughout the hospital management infrastructure.
Often information (on forms) is incomplete, or does not follow management standards. Forms are often lost
in transit between departments requiring a comprehensive auditing process to ensure that no vital
information is lost. Multiple copies of the same information exist in the hospital and may lead to
inconsistencies in data in various data stores.
A significant part of the operation of any hospital involves the acquisition, management and timely
retrieval of great volumes of information. This information typically involves; Doctor, Room, Department
and Patient personal Information. All of this information must be managed in an efficient and cost wise
fashion so that an institution's resources may be effectively utilized Hospital E-Token management will
automate the management of the hospital making it more efficient and error free for outdoor patient. It aims
at standardizing data, consolidating data ensuring data integrity and reducing inconsistencies.
The presentation focuses on how enterprises can turn Internet-of-Things-Data into Action and outlines the 5-A Model for Data Actionability. 5A stands for Action, Assignment, Analysis, Aggregation and Acquisition.
Central questions such as “How do I identify bad quality during or before the process?” or “How do I prevent unplanned downtime?” are addressed in this presentation by Prof. Michael Capone, at the Capgemini Week of Innovation Networks 2016.
A practical look at how to build & run IoT business logicVeselin Pizurica

Rule engines are automation frameworks that enable companies to accelerate application development and support the complexity and scale that IoT automation requires.
We will have a practical look at how you can evaluate any rules engine by immediately matching your unique business logic requirements with the necessary rules engine capabilities.
Are you collecting just about every metric under the sun and the kitchen sink too? Understanding the cost of collecting metrics and the usefulness of those metrics is the only way to scale in a cloud native world. You can’t get away with just collecting everything as you grow. Your observability teams need to make decisions about what to collect, what to drop, what to aggregate, and still be able to alert, triage, remediate, and do their root cause analysis on a daily basis. Gain immediate insights into high cost data (DPPS), when to drop time series data, and how to determine when the value of that data is at its lowest. Session includes a recorded demo video of it in action.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

11. Sensors to meet Business Results
Questions to ask:
1. What business results are you expecting?
2. Are they are measurable?
3. What is the allocated budget?
4. What is time duration of deployment?4. What is time duration of deployment?
5. What resources are available for ongoing expense?
And then:
1. Define what sensors, how many, specs, where to locate
2. Define the HW/SW/System architecture to support the biz objective
3. Follow- through to make sure business results are achieved

16. Summary
1. First a problem statement must be defined
2. What is the business result expected
3. Understand the upfront/ongoing budget, time duration,
resources
4. Define success criteria: financial and operational
Then
1. Define sensors and lean HW/SW/systems architecture
2. Define redundancy, availability, fail-over, security criteria
3. Follow- through to make sure business results are achieved
