Webinar On Lean In Non Manufacturing Environmentsfertuckda
The set of "lean" methods and tools, based on the Toyota Production System, now so widely applied in manufacturing organizations throughout the world, can also be adapted to non-manufacturing environments. Service, health care, construction, back office, sales, and financial organizations have all successfully used lean methods to streamline their repetitive processes by focusing them on the customer and by systematically eliminating waste.
You will learn how to stabilize, standardize, and simplify any set of processes using the power of the Toyota Production System. The presentation will cover: the importance of leadership and team-building to implementing change effectively; defining real value; the categories of waste and how to recognize them; defining work flow to uncover waste; standardizing work; and implementing continuous improvement. You will learn about the major lean techniques and tools such as: 5S, Kaizen events, Standard Work, just-in-time, Value Stream Mapping, and waste audits. You will also learn how to use these methods in concert to "lean up" organizational and cross-functional processes.
By the end of this presentation, you will be able to recognize whether the application of these methods could be of benefit to your organization. Challenge yourself to take a fresh look at how you are doing your work.

How to Develop an Illustrious Inventory Management System.pdfDarshanaMallick
What is a Hospital Inventory Management System?
The hospital inventory management software helps to keep the course of every item consumed within the healthcare organization. The clinic inventory management system helps in keeping a track of sales and purchases occurring within the healthcare organization. Here the consumable and non-consumable items are identified and accounted for.
The medicines and other surgical devices are the most important used products/items in a hospital. All the hospitals must maintain a good stock of lifesaving medicines, injections, and disposable surgical objects like syringes, masks, gloves, and more.
The importance of Hospital Inventory Management System in the Healthcare Sector
Challenge #1
Often nurses track and manage the hospital inventory systems. Besides, they lose time in maintaining records of medical supplies. On the other hand, doctors lose time in preparing lists of medical supplies or tools needed.
24% of staff have observed expired equipment used for patient care. (Study by Cardinal Health)
Solution:
However, a hospital inventory management system rescues the doctors and nurses from this. Hence, hospital inventory management software helps to get rid of engaging in tedious and time-consuming paperwork. Furthermore, healthcare inventory management software allows them to devote quality time to provide patient care.
Challenge #2
Emergencies are very common in healthcare centers. Hence, it is necessary to have enough stock of medical tools and equipment. However, some have a shelf life. Thus, it is necessary to cycle it out on time.
Solution:
Hospital inventory management systems help healthcare providers to effectively replace tools and meet medical standards. Also, the healthcare inventory management software automates the reorders. Moreover, the clinic inventory management system helps you replace your high-value items easily. Thus, track and order expensive types of equipment well in advance with the hospital inventory system.

Title: Sense of Smell
Presenter: Dr. Faiza, Assistant Professor of Physiology
Qualifications:
MBBS (Best Graduate, AIMC Lahore)
FCPS Physiology
ICMT, CHPE, DHPE (STMU)
MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the primary categories of smells and the concept of odor blindness.
Explain the structure and location of the olfactory membrane and mucosa, including the types and roles of cells involved in olfaction.
Describe the pathway and mechanisms of olfactory signal transmission from the olfactory receptors to the brain.
Illustrate the biochemical cascade triggered by odorant binding to olfactory receptors, including the role of G-proteins and second messengers in generating an action potential.
Identify different types of olfactory disorders such as anosmia, hyposmia, hyperosmia, and dysosmia, including their potential causes.
Key Topics:
Olfactory Genes:
3% of the human genome accounts for olfactory genes.
400 genes for odorant receptors.
Olfactory Membrane:
Located in the superior part of the nasal cavity.
Medially: Folds downward along the superior septum.
Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.

Some toxic substances are odorless at lethal concentrations.
Characteristics of Smell:
Odor blindness for single substances due to lack of appropriate receptor protein.
Behavioral and emotional influences of smell.
Transmission of Olfactory Signals:
From olfactory cells to glomeruli in the olfactory bulb, involving lateral inhibition.
Primitive, less old, and new olfactory systems with different path
