GIRL’S FAMILY HOME- NIGHT
The house is shown, with rain pattering against it and a loud
storm in the distance, the house is empty apart from the girl.
LIVING ROOM- NIGHT
The girl is sitting on a sofa, watching the news and a new
story about a mysterious killer comes on the news.
Newsreader: The man, believed to be in his early 40s has been
suspected as a masked killer terrorizing the Ruislip area.
The girl yawns, believing she is safe behind locked doors, and
switches channel to a music station.
TV: generic pop music plays
The phone rings, shocking the girl, and she quickly answers
seeing the caller ID as her mum.
Mum: Hello (name undecided), how is everything?
Girl: (uninterested) Yeah it’s good, when are you home?
Mum: Not till tomorrow morning, you know that?
Girl: Oh yeah, did you hear about the killer? I saw a piece on
the news but it bored me.
Light thuds come from upstairs, the girl barely hears them.
Mum: (finishing sentence we don’t hear due to girl zoning out
to sound of thuds) – so you’re perfectly safe, inside the
house.
Girl: Yeah, anyway I gotta go, I’ll see you soon I love you.
STAIRS- NIGHT
The girl begins to move up the stairs to go investigate the
thuds, believing it to be her cat, but as she reaches the top
of the stairs, she notices the cat coming out of the living
room. She slowly looks up in to the dark landing, moving
towards her room.
GIRLS ROOM- LATE NIGHT
A few hours have passed, and the girl appears to have totally
forgotten about the thuds earlier in the night. As she goes to
turn of the light, she hears another small thud, right outside
her door, believing it to be her cat, she quickly dismisses
it. She climbs in to bed and falls asleep.
GIRLS ROOM- LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING
The girl wakes up, stumbles out of bed towards the door to
grab a drink from downstairs, she can hear a faint dripping,
that sounds like it’s coming from the downstairs bathroom, but
she assumes it’s the tap, (next shot shows the tap, with no
drips). She gets to the fridge and takes a bottle of water and
moves back towards the door, to use the toilet and go back to
bed.
DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM- LATE NIGHT/EARLY MORNING
She opens the door to reveal her dead cat hanging from the
ceiling lights, with a slit throat, the blood on the floor
being the source of the dripping heard earlier.
Girl: (screams)
The girl turns and runs towards the stairs.
STAIRS- EARLY MORNING (2am)
She sprints right up the stairs to reach her room.
LANDING- 2AM
The walls are streaked in blood of the cat, the girl assumes,
and stumbles into her room and finds the killer, asleep in her
bed.
GIRLS ROOM-2AM
She moves over to hit the killer with a lamp, but he wakes up,
and stabs her in the thigh, piercing skin and causing her to
scream.
Girl: (loud scream)
The girl falls to the floor, and attempts to crawl towards the
door.
LANDING-2AM
The girl begins to tire and is lying at the top of the stairs,
the killer grabs her by the hair and throws her down the
stairs. Her mangled body lies at the bottom of the stairs,
twitching before it stops moving.
Cut to title screen.
