Shaping your Employee Experience through Design ThinkingSara Coene
We define employee experience as seeing the world through the eyes of our employees and staying connected to their wants and needs, so they are committed to the larger business goals and results.
As the war for talent heats up, many companies have appointed a Head of Employee Experience and are developing a strategy to create an employee experience which takes into account the physical environment employees work in, the tools and technologies that enable their productivity, and learning to achieve their best at work.
HR leaders are leading this effort by reaching outside of the HR function to partner with Marketing and Internal Communications in order to create one seamless employee and customer experience. Making the workplace an experience allows companies to embed their culture and values in the workplace and use this to recruit and retain top talent.
In this slideshare you learn about employee experience, why it is so important to put your people first and what the (new) role of HR is.
Sara Coene is Organisational Change Coach, Employee Experience Designer and Design Thinking Facilitator supporting organizations and leaders in their change, with strong focus on team dynamics and development, using co-creation, visual design tools and insights from behavioral science. She is currently working as strategy designer & managing partner at Bedenk, a Belgium based business creativity agency making organizations futureproof.
Product Managers are the visionaries for both identifying solutions, and innovating for the next big thing. But how does one jump from “I have an idea” to “go live”? There’s lots in between.
By putting you in real-world scenarios, this deck was created for a Hearst-wide division workshop that helped various teams through how they can break down their idea into actionable next steps by borrowing agile methodologies.
PACE, the roadmap for successful user adoptionRoland Driesen
How do you want to lead a project? Many projects are steered by top-down organizational factors: attention to technology, management, scope and budget. That is fine and gives results, but the most important key factor for sustainable change is missing. Namely: the human factor. A project plan is only truly complete if you also pay attention to communication, culture, scenarios and learning & development of your end users.
With PACE you approach a project holistically: from eight routes you map the current project situation and the ambition level of the change. Working with a special world map makes it clear at a glance on which route more or less guidance is required. And this guidance is available from the PACE toolbox: they complement your project plan on the routes where you can best use the support.
Striving to make succession planning 2x faster? Aiming to bring the risk of promoting the wrong person to 0? Or targeting to be a future-proof organization by identifying skill gaps and training needs early on?

In this session, you’ll see the results IBM has achieved by transforming its credential program. Then, you’ll get a step-by step, fast-paced lesson on how you can implement a program and achieve similar results. You’ll leave with a checklist showing how you can get started quickly without a big investment in resource or cost.

Future Workplace Summit 2018 Keynote - David LeaserDavid Leaser
A new survey shows only 51% of organizations say their existing workforce has the skills and capabilities to support their current needs. Worse, 81% say their existing workforce lacks the skills and capabilities to support their future needs. In this lively keynote, David Leaser, senior program executive of skills innovation at IBM, presented a compelling and thoughtful narrative on how understanding the modern workforce — across multiple digital touchpoints — is critical to developing 21st century skills and creating a pipeline of talent. The session will focus on how IBM has created a Digital Badge Program that has resulted in significant growth in learner engagement, student enrollment, and learners seeking certifications.
Digital badges are a rapidly growing worldwide online system that contains information about a person such as the knowledge and skills they achieved through formal or informal learning and who validated that learning. Once earned, digital badges can be added to a learner’s social media profile, like LinkedIn or Twitter. Then when someone clicks on the badge, they are provided detailed information on what it took to earn that badge. The presenters, who have decades of corporate and collegiate experience, will share with you the what, why and how of implementing digital badges in your organization.

For successful companies, sales training is not a “once in a year” affair. They recognize that learning needs to happen every day.
The market evolves. Competitors launch new products. The customer change preferences in a matter of weeks. Products change. New personnel take over.
The companies think: Can we have the extended field team skilling up every week? Can we have them go through a short burst (8 minute) training module every week - covering a product or a service or a critical skill?
Our experience proves that it is possible - under the right conditions.
Teams that have adopted to continuous learning have noticed 17% incremental premium mix and 7% incremental sales over teams that have not adopted the program*.

program is based on Open Standards
Badge earner candidate
completes activity and qualifies to
earn an IBM badge
IBM badge issuer Initiates a
notification to inform the badge
candidate of eligibility to earn and
claim an IBM badge
IBM badge issuer submits badge
earner name, email address, and
badge credential earned to the
Acclaim badge earner notification
system via secure, encrypted file
upload procedure or through a
secure API
Acclaim badge earner notification
system generates and sends a
badge claim notification email to
the badge earner to alert them of
the IBM badge earned, and to
provide instructions for accepting
the badge
Badge earner receives badge
claim notification and must
initiate step 1 of a 2-step opt-in
procedure to obtain their badge.

IBM Business Partner employees, provides an
easy way for my clients to authenticate my skills

31. IBM Open Badges are changing lives: Creating employment
I was having a tough time
finding a job because my
computer skills were
considered 'out of date'
and the IBM badges
were the perfect way to
show employers that I
could easily get back up
to speed and learn new
skills.
After sharing her badge to LinkedIn, Twitter and to her online portfolio, Coletta received a job offer after an
employer verified her badge.
Click the graphic to hear Coletta’s story or visit https://youtu.be/QrvxCw-Qf9c.
33. Through trial and error, we learned what works and what
does not. Here are important takeaways:
1. Develop a solid communication
plan with persuasive language.
2. Badge issuer must own the
relationship with the badge earner.
3. Build consent (privacy, info
sharing) into the activity.
4. Provide strong benefits
statements (marketing) into the
intro letter to badge earner.
5. Follow a template for badge
landing pages.
6. Add certification / skills paths into
the metadata for all badges.
7. Retro badges are less successful;
limit time period to 90 days.
8. Names are important: Nobody
wants a “newbie” badge.
