Ooredoo Tunisia, Tunisia's largest wireless carrier, used CommScope's low-loss combiners to share existing cell sites with other carriers. CommScope's combiners provided significantly less insertion loss than traditional hybrid units, allowing Ooredoo to add capacity and generate new revenue without major capital expenditures. A trial using CommScope's 900MHz low-loss combiner for site sharing between Ooredoo and another carrier showed a 50% increase in site traffic and revenue, as well as reduced network operating costs. Ooredoo plans to use the solution for a three-operator shared site due to the success of the initial trial.
