Case Study Online Sales:
Need: E-Commerce website X wanted to increase monthly revenue from
$40K/month to $50K/month over the next year.
Problem: They didn't know the ROI of their Facebook ad campaigns.
And they were not sure what changes to the website would increase
sales.
Story: The owner has hired two different agencies to overhaul the
website over the last 3 years. The website is working, but it's a mishmash
of different technologies and doesn't look that great.
Questions:
1. Which customers began their journey with a mobile
visit?
3. What % of orders were mobile only?
4. What's the average time from first visit to purchase?
5. What is the average amount of touches before
purchase?
6. How many customer journeys started with a visit to
the blog?
7. What percentage or orders had at least 1
interaction with the blog?
Solution: Boxter’s Funnl software generated a dozen different custom
reports to answer all the owner's questions. He was able to check the
records in real time whenever he needed an update. A custom UX report
was created to prioritize the changes needed to be done to the website.
This report was then used by their marketing agency to generate a
proposal for the work to be done.
Answers:
- 40k+ started their journey on mobile devices
- 1,713 purchase were made on a mobile device.
- 2 weeks was the average time on site until purchase
- An average of 2.5 visits to the site.
- The blog being fairly new for this company got 6k+ visits to it in a
month time frame and accounted for 6 purchases.
Results: The owner was able to prioritize ad spending based on the
returns shown in Funnl reports. Online sales increased 20% in the first six
months. A new website is being built that will help grow sales even more
because it's based on validated and actionable data.
