technologies used to deliver courses online are constantly emerging and effective instructional
strategies are being researched and described in the literature. This assignment will provide you
the opportunity to develop an Online Instructional Module.

Using the Instructional Unit that you developed in FRIT 7231: Instructional Design you are to
develop a technology-enhanced Online Learning Module in your field of initial certification.
The online module is to be created using a Web Authoring program.
Essentials of Assignment
I. Instructional Design Unit
Original Instructional Unit designed and developed in FRIT 7231: Instructional
Design.
II. Online Module
1. Introduction: The introduction should let the user know what is being covered by
the module, what the main topics are and how this relates to previous content that
they have covered.
2. Objectives: State the objectives of the module such that they clearly identify
expected outcomes. If the module is designed for the K-12 classroom make sure to
include the specific Georgia Performance Standards and/or Common Core standards
that the module meets.
3. Content: Include all of the content required to meet the objectives. Content should be
organized into appropriate segments that are clearly divided and is delivered using a
variety of strategies, technologies, and delivery modes.
4. Technology: Develop all required content components using appropriate digital
technologies.
5. Assessment: Develop all required assessments and evaluation activities, including
grading rubrics where appropriate.
III. Evaluation & Reflection
1. Evaluation: Carry out the plan for the formative evaluation that was developed as
part of the original instructional unit that you created in FRIT 7231: Instructional
Design. Include a minimum of three peer evaluations of the module.
2. Reflection: Write a reflection of the module that you developed. Specifically
a. Reflect on the development of the online learning unit that you created.
b. Based on the data that was developed as part of the evaluation process, describe
how you the online course that you developed could be improved.
IV. Developed Online Module
Online Module is to be developed using a Web Authoring Program such as Weebly,
Wix, or Google Sites. This site should be used only for the Online Module. (Do not
include this module as part of your Course Repository)
Evaluation of Assignment
This assignment will be evaluated using the Grading Rubric located on the last 2 pages of this
handout.
Required Items for Submission
You will need to submit the following items:
1. Original Instructional Design Unit (developed in FRIT 7230: Instructional Design)
2. URL of Online Module
3. Formative Evaluation
4. Peer Evaluations
5. Reflection Paper
Submission of Assignment
1. Save all of the required items (with appropriate file names) in a folder. Label this folder
with your name. (i.e. JerryStarling)
2. Use a File Archival Program to compress the folder into a ZIP file.
3. Send the Zipped file to your instructor using DropSend. DropSend is Web 2.0
application that allows you to email very large files. Use your instructor’s regular GSU
email address that is located in the course Syllabus.
