Three Adaptations of Evita the MusicalTerry Chucas
Experienced attorney Terry Chucas specializes in dependency court appeals and has represented clients before the Fourth and Second District Courts of Appeals in California. Outside of his work in the legal field, Terry Chucas has an interest in Broadway Theater and cites Evita as one of his favorite plays.
The acclaimed musical Evita made its Broadway debut in 1979. Stage actress Patti LuPone starred as Eva Peron, the wife of an Argentinian dictator who rose from poverty to the top of society. The musical contains more than a dozen original songs created through a collaboration between Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
The original Broadway show ended in 1983 after more than 1,500 performances. In 1996, English director Alan Parker wrote and directed a film adaptation of Evita. Led by Madonna, the film contained many of the songs from the 1976 musical, as well as the original song “You Must Love Me.” Decades later, in 2012, Evita returned to Broadway. The revival starred Elena Roger, as well as pop star Ricky Martin as the fictionalized Che Guevara.
The Johns Creek Arts Center is pleased to be offering a wonderful opportunity for budding stars: a special 2-week Broadway Camp, resulting in the spectacular show, Aladdin Junior, The Musical!
Immigrants’ Theatre Project will present Staged Readings in English of 6 new plays written by women playwrights who are the leading voices writing for the stage today in Central and Eastern Europe. ITP’s artistic director Marcy Arlin and director Gwynn MacDonald will curate these plays from Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Serbia and Slovak Republic.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Lyrics:
All these kinds of places
Make it seem like it's been ages
Tomorrowsome new buildingwill scrape the sky
I lovethis country dearly
I can feel the ladder clearly
But I never thought I'd be alone to try
Once I was outside Penn station
2. Sellingred and white carnations
We were still alone,
My wife and I
Before we marry, save my money
Brought my dearwife over
Now I want to bring my family state side
But off the boat theystayed awhile
Then scattered across the coast
Once a year I'll see them for a week or so at most
I tooka walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk, (oh-ah-ohhhh)
I take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk (oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh)
Practice isn't perfect
But the market cuts the loss
I remind myself that times could be much worse
My wife won't ask me questions
There's not so much to ask
And she'll never flaunt around an emptypurse
Once my mother-in-lawcame
Just to staya couple nights
Then decided she would stay the rest of her life
I watch my little children, playsome board game in the kitchen
And I sit and pray they never feel my strife.
But then my partner called to say the pension funds were gone
3. He made some bad investments, now the accounts are overdrawn
Honey it's your son I thinkI borrowed just too much
We had taxes, we had bills,we had a lifestyle of fun
And tonight I swear I'll come home and we'll make love like we're young
Then tomorrowyou'll cook dinner for the neighbours and theirkids
We can rip apart those socialists and all theirdamn taxes
But see I am no criminal
I'm down on both bad knees
I'm just too much a coward to admit when I'm in need
I tooka walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk, (oh-ah-ohhhh)
I take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk (oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh)
I take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk, (oh-ah-ohhhh)
I take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk
Take a walk, take a walk, take a walk (oh-ah-oh-oh-oh-oh)
