My Mother Cabaret Analysis
Music is a beautiful piece of art work. It can send messages about politics, it can soothe a broken
heart, or it can bring a family closer together. Music is such an important aspect in a household
because it could very well be the only thing a family can connect on. The Father and Mother
share their taste of music with their kin just as their parents did for them and along with their
parents. The music being passed down receives a change along the way. My Father showed me
Heavy Metal, Hair Metal, and Rock n Roll, whereas my Mothershowed me 80s pop, some country,
and other various genres. Some of the music passed down from generation to generation may be
derived from where our ancestors lived. I have recently found out, through my Mother... Show more

jazzy feel that went well with the satirical topical references to Ger. life at the time (The Oxford

My Last Day
One of those summer nights with your friends when you just want to go out and have the time

more work to worry about and i can just enjoy my days relaxing and hanging out with my
friends. For weeks now my friends have been wanting to plan a trip or a one day trip or something
exciting to get us away from our boring lives. A couple of ideas were stirring around like going

out at my friends house Dominic ,who lived in the ghetto with a bunch of siblings that never left
anybody alone when Dominic had people come over. But his parents were the only ones that
didnt mind all four of us coming over . But anyways deciding it took awhile it felt like all night,
my two friends jake and cole who were both cheap and didnt like spening any money what so

The Lack Of Age Appropriate Transportation Services For...
I would like to focus and investigate the lack of age appropriate transportation services for the
elderly and people with disabilities. The issue of transportation becomes a major concern when
the elderly and people who are disabled develop uncontrollable age related illnesses and are no
longer healthy to drive. Losing the privilege to drive brings independence to an end and forces the
elderly to stay at home which may lead to despair and other emotions. Therefore, it is essential to
provide our senior citizens and people with disabilities with reliable transportation to help them
maintain their independence. It is important to create reliable services to support them in making
choices about how they want to live the last years of their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

struggles and frustration the elderly and people with disabilities face due to the lack of
transportation services available to them. Furthermore, the author tells the story of an elderly man
who was taken to the hospital by ambulance. But, on the day of his release from the hospital he had
no family nearby and had no way to get home nor had money to pay for a taxi. The hospital was
unable to assist him financially to pay for a cab, frustrated the elderly patient told his nurse he
would walk eight miles to his home. Cronk informs that in populated communities although many
people live near doctors and hospitals they continue to face the issue of poor transportation due to
financial struggles. The author states that for those who are disabled riding public transportation
becomes a great challenge. In addition to missing important preventive care appointments because
they have no reliable access to transportation. Cronk states that the problems were worst among
minorities, stating that a high percentage of disabled and elderly patients have missed appointments
due to not having accessible transportation. Cronk continues to inform that many times they just

A sailor s job is to navigate the deep seas, but navigation is needed with the help of a map. The
sailor takes a close eye of the map to check if the boats path is headed in a straight direction.
Seamus Heaney s father makes sure that all the furrows will be placed correctly in the right track.
So he represents his father as a sailor on his ship, this is his interpretation/metaphor. Seamus
Heaney. However does not interpret his father in Digging. He simply describes the scene he is
seeing through his window inside Under my window, a clean rasping sound . So in the two poems
he has used different styles of portraying the scene, in
Follower he uses subtle hints of metaphors such as mapping the furrow exactly , which describes
him as a sailor which is referring back to
his shoulders globed as a full sail strung . Where as in Digging he is mainly concerned with the
alienation felt and the need to negotiate the distance between his family and the present
circumstances.
However in the poem digging he does use some metaphors The poem had opened on the lines,

The Race into Space
Introduction:
As many people may know, the U.S.A. went to the moon first, but what they don t know is the
story behind the space race. So, I m going to tell you about it. For example, J.F.K. s speech. Also,
about just the space space race. Lastly, about who got there first and how. J.F.K. s Speech:
J.F.K. wanted to do something new while he was president, and in my opinion, that something new
was to go to the moon. Kennedy said his speech at Rice University because he wanted the young
peoples to tell their parents to help with the rocket payments and stuff like that. In my opinion, the
best part of his speech was when he said, ...not because they are easy, but because they are hard.
All About the Race:
The space race first started in the 1950 s. On November 3, 1957 Russia lanuches Sputnik 2, to
follow up on Sputnik 1. Inside the Sputnik 2 was a small dog named Laika, and she became the
first live animal in space. Unfortunatley, Laika did not survive. Then, on Jauary 2,1959 Russia s
Luna 1 is the very first space craft to go towards the moon, but unfortunatly goes past the moon
and goes into orbit of the sun between Mars and our planet Earth. In the 60 s more stuff happened.
I m not going to say EVERYTHING that happened in the sixties but I will tell you one super
awesome thing. Neil Armstrong, Buss Aldrin, and crewmate Micheal Collins were the first people
to walk on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

haven t told you the date or the country they where from. The date was July 20, 1969, and they

Conclusion:
Now you know the story behind the space race, so go tell your parents cousins, Aunts, Uncles, and
maybe even friends. Remember, I told you about J.F. K s speech, the space race, and who went to

An Enhanced Graphical Password Scheme Using Aonv Essay
AN ENHANCED GRAPHICAL PASSWORD SCHEME USING AONV
ABRACT
Conventional textual password has been in use for authentication for a long time due to its ease of
use. However, drawbacks such as weak or stolen passwords and unrecalled passwords, has
frequently compromised security. Consequently, graphical passwordtechnique has been proposed
from literatures as a solution. However, this technique still faced with the challenge of peep attacks,
tradeoff between easy use (minima cognitive requirement) and secured strength (moderate
complexity) issues. This research presented a graphic based password scheme using Arithmetic
Operators and Numerical Value (AONV) in which the aforementioned issues are addressed. The
AONV model consists of registration and verification stages which users must successfully
complete in order to be authenticated. A hybrid technique based on recognition, cued and pure
recall was adopted. The system security was enhanced by image matching, numerical value,
computational numeric secret key, arithmetic operator and shuffling of images in grid cells. This

Clever s Newspaper Article Summary
Clever s Newspaper article opens with the common stereotype of someone who has a heart
attack, a middle aged workaholic man who is a little paunchy. Little do some know, heart
disease isn t just a man s disease. More than one in five women have a form of heart or blood
disease. When a woman reaches the age of 65, there is a one in three chance she will develop
cardiovascular disease. The main argument of the article, said by Dr. Ted E. Garrett a
cardiothoracic surgeon at the St. Louis HeartInstitute, is that heart disease kills more women than
all types of cancer, accidents, and diabetes combined. In the news article, the main point is that

Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on
absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way
to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by
measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and
concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a
spectrophotometer to measure wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard
curve based on concentration (x axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to
measure an educated guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We
hypothesized that if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can
determine an accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this
lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein concentrations. The
standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. The Bradford assay is an accurate way to
demine the concentration of an unknown concentration.

The Happiest Refugee Book Analysis
To me, this quote, We read to know we re not alone , has two meanings; that is we read to
immerse ourselves in different universes and situations. We connect to other characters or
experiences we never get in our universe. Another meaning is we read to feel the we, the reader,
is not alone. For example, if I say I hate my life , I read and find out that there are other people
who have the same problem or in even worse situation than I am.
I have read two books who are totally different to each other. The first book I read was entitled The
Happiest Refugee by Ahn Do. The second book I read was entitled Skeleton Key , a graphic novel
by Anthony Horowitz.
The Happiest Refugee is a biography of the great comedian named Ahn Do. He wrote about his life,
and how his family escaped from Vietnam and settled in Australia, the hardships they faced, how he

Essay The Effect of Media Bias in America
Broadcast news can be dangerous, not because of what it reports, but because of what it doesn t.
This applies to all forms of media. As time has gone by the media has changed from what I
remember as a child watching the news. It was the election of Ronald Reagon, I remember that
it was a big deal. In this time we trusted the media to tell us what was going on in the country. Not
to mislead us and not to lie to us. To give us the facts and not the opinions of a select few, I didn t
really know any different until I the got internet, and in the mid ninety s I saw the beginning of
the change in media but didn t know it. So I ask now what has happened? In this essay I will
review some facts on media biasand where we are today. I will... Show more content on

The next in the list, number five is one I think is used quite a bit: selective omission. Selective
omission is the media controlling access to information and the manipulation of public
statements. The media does this to make the subject look good on one side and bad on another
to bring on an emotional response of sorts, or maybe just to hide the truth from the public for
reasons unknown. Number six in the list of media violations is using true facts to draw false
conclusions. This one is self explanatory. It s not used a whole lot, besides in time of war or
conflict. The media uses this to make their side look better or worse, depending on what they are
trying to achieve. Do they want to be winners or do they want pity from their readers or
watchers? The last violation is the distortion of facts. The media does not always have the facts,
so they simply make some up. The internet is really bad about this. The violation of media
objectivity, are a list of bias that the media use to push their opinions of events in the way they
want us to see.
How dose bias apply to our media? In the list above I have seen first hand all of the seven
violations of media objectivity. For some examples I would like to look at a few articles from the
2008 presidential election. On October 15, 2008, The New York Times and CBS both declared
Barack Obama the winner of the 2008 presidential election. They didn t do this in straight words

The nature of the iterations will not necessarily change much; but the longevity of the software
produced will certainly increase. Early iterations (usually in the inception phase) have a tendency
to be thrown out. During elaboration, you will discover the rest of the use cases (or at least their
first approximations) and will implement the minimal set. During construction, users will drive
towards giving the customer the minimum system that they need. The nature of the iterations will
not change much, but your focus will be on identifying the smallest possible deliverable that will
still meet at least some of the customers needs. During construction, the use cases will change a
bit as the customer sees the growing system and feeds changes back to you. During transition,
users will drive towards fleshing out the functionality of the system, and incorporating the mounds
of customer feedback that users are surely to get. The nature of your iterations will not change
much. During transition, the use cases are likely to undergo drastic changes as the customers
actually use the system and realize that it is not exactly what they needed. Again, the essence of
RUP is iteration, and the essence of iteration is the production of executable deliverables. Users
may also be producing UML diagrams, or some other form of model too. Such models take two
forms. One is a model of the architecture, which is seeded during inception and established during

beneficial to discover marketing more efficient. Let s find out more about several the vital aspects
linked to marketing environment.
INTERNAL FACTORS
The components linked to organisation internal environment are such as organisational Culture,
human Resource, management as well as financial Strength (Strategic Planning: Environmental

Organisational Culture: The tradition within the company is a vital element for a successful
business. The mind set of employees as well as volunteers, moreover their potential will creates a
major difference. Negative mind set could badly influence on the organisation potential to carry

How Did Ancient Greek Culture Influence Ancient American...
People come and go, but their work of art and ideas can flourish for eternity. Art makes history

currently, no matter if it s a person or a thing, is all result of the past. Stuff doesn t just pop out of
no where. Historyis part of everything. Everything is a part of history. One of Rome s greatest
philosopher, Marcus Tullius Cicero once said, To be ignorant of what occurred before you were

American s interest in ancient Greek culture develops when they sense that there s a connection
between them: ...the Greek War of Independence against Turkish domination aroused the
sympathy of our citizens, who saw in the Greek struggle for freedom a parallel to our own War
of Independence (Downs 173). The parallelism is that they both have experience of battling for
freedom from a controlling country. Another relation that makes the Americans appreciate the
Greek culture even more is the archeological discovery showing Greece as the birthplace of
democracy: As the Greek Revival style unfolded and developed in the United States it became as
indigenous to the soil of our system of law...and our democratic system of government, which
was founded on the ancient ideal of individual freedom (Downs 176). After studying and getting
hold of the architectural idea and vocabulary, Greek architecture soon becomes America s
national style. The classical look of the Greek architectural are made up of three primary orders:
Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. Doric being the oldest and simplest of the three: The Doric order
is characterized by a plain, unadorned column capital and a column that rests directly on the
stylobate of the temple without a base...entablature includes a frieze composed of triglyphs and
metopes. The columns are fluted and are of sturdy, if not stocky, proportions (Becker 1). The
Doric is best describe as the most understated style with a masculine appearance out of the three
orders. Despite the simplest look of the Doric, it is the most popular. The Parthenon, also known
as the epitome of Greek culture, is built under the Doric order. Famous works of the Doric order
in the United States can be seen on the design of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C and the
Justice Hall Building in New York City. Next is the Ionic: notable for its graceful

You Say You Want A Resolution Analysis
A resolution is a firm decision to do or not to do something. In Heidi Pollock s essay, You Say
You Want a Resolution she describes the true meaning of a New Year s resolution. A lot of people
might pick only one resolution for New Year s. They might say they want to lose a certain amount
of weight or to stop drinking soda. According to Pollock though, that is not the correct way. In
Pollock s words , A true resolutionshould be an addition to your life, should expand your horizons
and help you grow as a person . Her view is that people should have three resolutions; one from
the Health Lifestyle category, another from the Education/Practice category, as well as one from
the Project/Task category. The reason for the three is to increase the odds in being successful in
fulfilling at least one of the resolutions. So my three New Year s resolutions for next year are
washingmy face every night before bed, reading a bookI would not normally read at least once a
month, and finally finding a job for myself. My first resolution will definitely be hard to achieve,
especially every night. The reason for this is because I like to stay up late till I become so tired
that I end up going to sleep before washing my face first. Another reason is that I usually come
home late and by that time I am so exhausted that I once again go straight to bed before washing
my face that is full of makeup. A way I can break this habit of going to sleep before washing my

Relationships Between Evapotranspiration And Precipitation
A comparison of the averaged weather station datasets versus the historic individual weather station
datasets was made for both precipitation and Eto. The averaged monthly dataset preserved
seasonality for both precipitation and Eto as illustrated in the figures. Notably, for the months of
February, March, and April, the average monthly precipitation volume was lower than the actual
weather station historic data. This occurred for two reasons: 1) the disparity in the number of
observations between the two weather station datasets and the average resulting in the largest

Abandoned by her mother at the age of six months Moll Flanders does not have any of the

of about eight or ten she is aware of herself as an individual ready to shape her own life: ...for alas!
all I understood by being a gentlewoman was to be able to work for myself, and get enough to

stations you did not plan to go to. MollВґs marriage to a draper turns out to be disastrous, as he
wastes most of her money. Her lifeВґs journey takes a sharp turn when she finds herself so
desperate for money , that she becomes a whore. Her next marriage takes her on a real journey
(to Virginia) where at first she is very happy indeed. But when she discovers that her mother in law
is her natural mother she says that: ... an odd and surprising event put an end to all that felicity in a
moment, and rendered my condition the most uncomfortable, if not the most miserable, in the
world. (93). Moll now proves herself to be a very strong person when she insists on leaving
Virginia, as she cannot imagine going on living with her own brother.
Back in England she tries to set up a new life for herself. She lives for six years with a married man
and then marries an Irishman who thinks she is a woman with a very great fortune. This man is

The doctors said that you had broken 5 vertebrates and shattered your tailbone. You were on bed

The first maybe 12 years of our lives together you were pretty mean to me. You would make wait

Big Fish Reflection
Edward Bloom was a story teller. He would tell elaborate stories to his son since he was born.
Not only were the stories exciting, they were told to bring life and excitement into Edwards life.
Growing up, William enjoyed his father s stories. As time goes on, the stories began to become
more and more uneventful and less entertaining. This was because William has heard the same
stories his whole life. He did not know what was true and what was fake. On his death bed,
Edward reconnects with William by getting him to see that he was not lying his whole life, just
telling his life story in a much more interesting way. Yes, some details were changed but that does
not mean they were all lies. William just did not see that until the end.
Big fish tells a story of adventure, love, life and death. Edward loved his family most of all. He let
you know many time throughout the film. What stuck out the most to me was when he finished
remodeling Jennifer s house. Jen came on to him. The love he had for his wife truly showed
through when he rejected her affection. This shows, how that the head of the family loves more
than anything: his wife and only son (Vega). At a young age, Will didn t have the relationship with
his father that he wanted. This was because Edward was often gone for periods of time, traveling
and working. Upon Edwards return, he would tell Will stories of his travels and adventures. To this
end, William was not able to tell if his dads stories were true or not.

Vaginal Birth Vs C-Section Delivery Research Paper
Vaginal Birth VS C Section Delivery Ever wonder what form of delivery is safer? Well first off
what are the forms of delivery? There are two forms of delivery. There is either a vaginal
delivery or a cesarean delivery. A vaginal delivery is where the baby passes through the birth
canal by normal means. A cesarean section is where the baby is pulled out through an incision
made in the mothers stomach and uterus. What are the pros and cons of a vaginal delivery? Your
body is naturally equipped to give birth vaginally without medical intervention (Brann) However,
even if you can deliver a baby vaginally without medication women still consider having some form
of medication during the birthing process. There are many positives for the mother during a vaginal

and physically links all women. It is also an expression of a woman s sexuality. (Why Choose
Vaginal Birth) Another reason that women would rather have a vaginal birth is because, from a
psychological standpoint, women who go through with a vaginsl delivery are said to have a

Human Impact On Humans And Chimpanzees
The chimpanzee is one of the most interesting mammals on this earth. These animals are the
cousins of humans. According to the National Geographic chimpanzees share 98% of our DNA .
This in relative terms make humans and chimpanzees very alike, we are them and they are us. The
chimpanzee population inhabitants Africa. Although many believe that chimpanzees are monkeys,
they are great apes. (savethechimps.org). The chimpanzeepopulation in the last few years has
diminished drastically and this has cause them to become endangered species. Like humans the
chimpanzees lives in communities they also have a hierarchy, and they consume a diet of
vegetables, meats and fruits. (savethechimps.org).
Although humans and chimpanzee are considered relatives, humans are one of the biggest threats
to the great ape. Humans are one of the biggest reasons the chimpanzee are endangered. According
to World Wildlife poaching is one of the biggest threats. Poaching means to hunt, kill and then
consume the chimpanzees. This gruesome act is usually done by wealthy urban residents who
desire to eat bushmeat. This is an expensive luxury that is costing the chimpanzee their lives and is
significantly decreasing their population. Another unlawful act happening to these great apes, their
young babies are being captured and sold for recreational pets.

Essay about Wealth in FitzgeraldВґs The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby shows the dehumanizing nature of wealth by creating a contrast between the
rich and the poor. The point of this contrast is to illustrate the class struggle that was occurring in
the country when Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby. The comparison between rich and poor is
first developed in the beginning of the book when Tom and Nick are driving to New York.
Fitzgerald further elaborates on the gross differences between rich and poor when Gatsby
manages to avoid a speeding ticket. Fitzgerald also uses popular songs from the time period, Aint
t We Got Fun , to build his case of the class struggle between the rich and the poor. Fitzgerald uses

This simple action changed the police officer s demeanor towards Gatsby instantly. Instead of
being a target, Gatsby was suddenly someone to be respected and given special privilege. Nick
inquired What was that ... The picture of Oxford? showing how the rich understand the special
treatment that they are getting above the middle class (68). Later on, while having lunch with
Wolfsheim, Gatsby calmly informs Nick that Wolfsheim fixed the World Series. These
opportunities to make large amounts of money only come if you have large amounts of money.
This type of attitude is reflected in all of the wealthy characters in the book; the attitude of
superiority simply because of the amount of money that you have. Another method that
Fitzgerald uses to draw contrast between the rich and working class is through references to
popular media of the time period. When Gatsby demands that Klipspringer play the piano for
him and Daisy, Klipspringer plays a song Ain t We Got Fun . The first sets of lyrics that are
included in the book are about having fun all day. This is a reference to the lifestyle of the rich.
The second set of lyrics focus more on the life of the working class man. One thing s sure and
nothing s surer/ the rich get richer and the poor get children (95). Fitzgerald uses this to continue
his comparison. The fun filled lifestyle of the rich compared to the work filled lifestyle

Hyperbole Twelfth Night
The play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare conveys the way love occurs in different forms.
Twelfth Night is set in the fictional coastal European town of Illyria. The story begins when Viola,
finds herself on the coast of Illyria after a shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as Cesario and gains a
position working for Duke Orsino, who is deeply in lovewith Olivia. Olivia refuses his love and
falls in love with his messenger, Cesario. Orsino s and Olivia s love is selfish and persistent
towards Olivia and Cesario respectively. Viola is in love with Orsino but cannot express it because
she would have to break her disguise. After Antonio rescues Sebastian from the shipwreck, he falls
in love with him, but must conceal his love the homosexual relationship would be unacceptable.
These ideas are portrayed through use of hyperbole, soliloquy, dramatic irony, aside and parallel
plots. The techniques prompt the viewer to apply the situation to their own life by extracting
personal morals from the text.
Selfish love is felt by both Orsino and Olivia for the majority of this script. Neither characters
begin to consider that the one they love may not reciprocate the emotion and they continue to
force their love in a place where it will not succeed. Duke Orsino believes that the love he feels
for Olivia is stronger than any love ever felt before and states this when saying. He is vain to the
extent that he believes that Olivia s heart only be fulfilled with These sovereign thrones, are all
supplied, and filled/Her sweet perfections with one self king (I.i.37 38). Shakespeare uses
hyperbole in Orsino s lines to display how extreme, dramatic and passionate his love is to the
reader. Twelfth Nightbegins with Duke Orsino performing a soliloquy which uses hyperbole to
portray to the audience his narcissistic and intense personality. Olivia possesses a similar emotion
but towards Cesario. She has previously hinted her love to Cesario time and time again. When she
openly confesses her love, Cesario states that no woman will hold his heart. Olivia expects that
Cesario will convince himself to love her when saying, thou perhaps mayst move/That heart, which
now abhors, to like his love (III.i.153 154). The technique mostly

Tim Tam Fmcg Essay
The Fast Moving Consumer Good (FMCG) that I have chosen to analyse is Arnott s Tim Tam Balls
(Refer to Appendix One for product picture).
To explore the product from both a marketing and design perspective it is appropriate to conduct a
SWOT analysis.
Strengths
Tim TamBalls are a brand extension from one of Arnott s best selling products, Tim Tam
Biscuits. Arnott s created the product as an easy to eat snack while on the go or as an after dinner
snack. The easy to open soft packaging ensures that the product is for people on the go and thus
Arnott s are able to broaden their consumer base.
To avoid the risk of diluting or changing the meaning of the core brand (Tim Tam Biscuits) Arnott s
have maintained similar colours on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows the company to branch out from its traditional round shape snack to say love hearts for
Valentines Day, Christmas Trees at Christmas time.
The packaging states that they are original flavouring. This allows for flavour development such as
caramel and mint slice. In summary, product development is easily achievable.
Because the product is relatively small in size, Arnott s are easily able to develop marketing
campaigns to promote the product where the product is sold. Examples of campaigns would
include point of sale sell strips that hang from the supermarket shelves. This would increase brand
awareness and shelf impact of the product.
While the packaging of the Tim Tam balls is altered, the core brand values of Arnott s and Tim
Tam biscuits is not lost. The packaging still displays the Arnott s logo with the rosella bird and
slogan there is no substitute for quality . The product is able to leverage itself from these core
values to assert that the product is of good quality. This is called a leveraged superbrand.
Threats
Consumers may underestimate the taste of Tim Tam Balls due to the linkage of Tim Tam biscuits.
Because of the popularity of Tim Tam Biscuits, consumers are expecting a very similar product in
form and shape.
Due to this, it is easy for the consumer to relate Tim Tam balls to a competitor s product such as
Malteser s, which a consumer may already have a preference for.

The Power Of The House Of Representatives
Congratulations on being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. I believe you should be
very familiar with the Texas Legislature as you have served as a member of the Texas Legislature
for eight years. However, the U.S. Legislature in Washington D.C. is very different from the Texas
Legislature while having some similarities. I would like to list some of the similarities and
differences between these two legislaturesto help you in the transition as the Congress has changed
overtime and thus, to help develop your Home Style. The modern Congress is a reformed
Congress (Shaw, 2015:2). The power of the House of Representative was held in the hand of the
Speaker in the early 1900s. However, a resolution was introduced by George Norris after leading
the progressive Republicans and Democrats into a revolt against Joe Cannon, the Speaker, in
1910. The power was moved to the hands of the committee chairs, which were determined by
seniority, after the revolt. (Shaw, 2015:3). The seniority system was challenged in the 1950s and
1960s. As a result, a greater role was placed on the Speaker of the House and the majority party on
determining the assignment of the committee chairs. Moreover, the sub committees had also
become more important in the legislature. Later in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the wages of
the Congress members and the number of staff had increased as a result of becoming more
professionalized . The franking privilege, the privilege of sending certain matter

The Object Oriented ( Oo ) Environment And The Strategies...
Executive Summary:
This research report discusses about the object oriented (OO) environment and the strategies that
are used for testing an object oriented environment. The report also lists the tactics and metrics for
testing in an object oriented environment. The object oriented approach closely relates the
programs to the real world with the help of objects. The popularity of OO approach has increased
due to ease of reuse and modular architecture that leads to quality software. Software testing is
important to ensure delivery of error free software. Testing an OO program is challenging because
of the complexity due to interconnection among the components. Various testing strategies and
methods can be followed to test OO software. Apart from the strategies and methods certain metrics
need to be considered and used to measure the quality of the projects. Software metrics are proven
measures for measuring the development of the software process.
OO programs are based on hierarchy of classes and objects. The four pillars, encapsulation,
inheritance, polymorphism and abstraction can be used to achieve reusability of code. As
compared to the conventional software programming, the faults are not found in code, instead are
in the interaction of the chunks of codes. Testing of an OO program begins with reviewing the
object oriented analysis (OOA) and object oriented design (OOD) models. Variety of Testing
strategies such as unit testing, thread based, use based and cluster

Is Freedom Still Relevant Today
As our Founding Fathers stated in the First Amendment in the Constitution of the United States,
Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free
exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people to
peaceably assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances, (qtd. in
Marcovitz 22). Were they alive today, our Founding Fathers would be greatly appreciative of the
changes made to the Constitution as the prospective and needs of our nation evolved over the last
several decades. Freedom is the idea of being able to act, speak, or think without rule or restriction;
which is not the reality of many countries today and also for women and slaves many years ago in
the United States.

Women had trouble being granted the same rights as men till they demanded change. There were
many feminist groups that arose during these desperate times, which helped the issue to be
recognized. The National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA) was formed by two
women s suffrage groups, American Woman Suffrage Association and National Woman Suffrage
Association which protested with mass marches and hunger strikes (Suffrage, pars. 2 3). The
NAWSA influenced other groups to come forward, like the National Council of Negro Women
(Rights, par. 5). In 1869, African American men were granted the ballot, but African American
women continue with the struggle to voice their opinions (Suffrage, par 2). Women today still

two percent less than men, which according to the Institute for Women s Policy Research will take

After all, I myself would have been surprised if a boy showed up on the field one day wearing a
skirt like the rest of the team and expecting to play in the game. Part of the problem is that it is
so uncommon. People are afraid of things that they ve never seen or done. Non traditional
athletes in certain sports are partially unaccepted due to the fact that they are a first. This is part
of the reason why Bev (from Pumping Iron II), was so unaccepted by the judges of the women s
bodybuilding contest: the judges were disgusted by her muscularity. Images of muscular
women... are disconcerting, even threatening... [she was a] threat to established values.

something that we d anticipated coming to our high school. She was seen as being strange: butch,

context however, of non traditional athletes in sports, I see how hard she must have worked to
overcome the obstacle of being the social outcast due to her perceived peculiarity. Wrestling must

One of the most important events in the U.S. aviation history and in particularly commercial

The air carrier employment went up a 50% since 1978, one of the reasons been that a lot of new
low cost carries were created after the act. One of the thing that all airlines made in order to gain
more money they contract third companies to do some jobs, so that they do not have to pay
benefits to them. This even happen with the airplanes in a way. You can see a Continental
airplane and seems that you are flying with them, when in reality you are flying with other

lot of people stay without employment because a lot of major airlines filed bankruptcy. In 1978
there were 15 legacy carries, such as American Airlines, Pan American or Eastern. In 2016 there is
only 3: American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines. A portion of the 13 that no

Reflection Of A Reflection On Teaching
Reflection for Co Teaching This semester was my first time working with 3rd graders at an IB
school. This type of school is structured much differently than all the other elementary schools in
Jefferson County. The curriculum at this school is a concept driven curriculum that helps students
construct meaning through improved critical thinking skills. This means that the lessons taught are
inquiry based. Inquiry based instruction is centered on posing questions and establishing facts
through exploration rather than simply presenting the facts to the students. With that being said,
my cooperating teacher (CT) planned a very interactive Science lesson to get his students engaged
in learningand doing Science. My CT told me that he did not have a specific book to teach with,
yet he had essential questions and standards that needed to be met in Science. The lesson was
centered on the 3rd grade Colorado academic standard 2, concept 2, which pertained to the
concept of the duration and timing of life cycle events in different organisms. The essential
question of how humans can have a negative or positive impact on the life cycle of animals and
insects was also a guiding factor in the lesson. My CT and one of his co workers that taught 3rd
grade came up with this lesson with the help of the ButterflyPavilion, who provided specimens,
exploration, and butterfly holder nets for the classroom.
This lesson was a great activity that captivated an idea learned in my college class that

The Federal Government Regulate The Insurance Industry
Background The federal government s role is in regulating industries is to protect consumers and
the market. There is an ongoing debate on whether the federal government should regulate the
insurance industry as a result of the bailouts stemming from the Financial Crisis of 2008. Currently,
state governments regulate the insuranceindustry. Proponents of federal regulationreason that states
are inefficient in the duty of insurance regulation. Additionally, the federal government has
economies of scale and may offer an increase in efficiency unlike state regulation. The federal
government regulates industries due to inherent systemic riskto the country s economic
environment. Systemic risk is the risk of collapse of an entire financial system or market.
(SOURCE) For example, banking institutions such as Lehman Brothers, Merrell Lynch, and
Goldman Sachs were major contributors to the financial crisis in 2008 because these institutions
were systemically significant to the market. The insurance industry and the core activities of the
industry, however, were not a major contributor to near collapse of the American economy. The
federal government should not regulate the insurance industry because it does not possess a
systemic risk to the market economy, states have the ability and resources to regulate, and federal
regulation would result in unnecessary costs from the federal budget.

But one time, a Calvary of Mongolians crossed the border of Manchuria to find some grass to feed

Mongolian unit brought an army into Manchuria, but this time Japan was not able to defend
against them. The Mongolians, with the Soviets, were too strong for the Japanese to defeat
them and the Japanese got surrounded. Eight officers were killed along with ninety seven
soldiers, and one officer was wounded along with thirty three soldiers on May 28. (Young) The
Japanese were miserably defeated by the Soviet Union, but that did not convince the Japanese to
stop attacking. It is really unclear why the Japanese wanted to attack the Soviet Union. It is
possible that because Japan was an empire and an expansionist once they saw Hitler taking other
countries, which was how they got motivated to do it themselves. So possibly their thinking was
if Hitler gets to do it, then we can too. A stronger reason why the Japanese attacked the Soviets
was due to the Soviets vast wealth in oil resources. In order to become a prosperous country with
the best war technology, oil is one of the most necessary resources to have. Just like in Pearl

When Roe v Wade (1973) concluded that women were able to have a legal abortion, abortion rates
soared (New, 2011). When the provisions from the Pennsylvania Abortion Control act were put into
law, abortion rates declined. Between 1990 and 2005, the legal abortions declined significantly by
22.22 percent (New, 2011). It was deemed unconstitutional for men to know about their wives
abortions, contemplating that it may lead to abuse (O Brien, 2011). Men have an ethical argument
that questions, is a wise decision for men s rights to having children?
Partial Birth Abortion Act of 2003
The Partial Abortion Act was brought to the attention of the courts in 2003. Before this law, the
method for abortion, usually during the fifth month or later, was partially delivering the baby
alive before the skull was injured. The spinal cord was snipped by the physician, and the baby was
killed. This gruesome act was being performed daily by physicians. This law recognized that the
fetus was now a different being than the mother, instituting of murder, because the fetus was
partially delivered alive, then killed by severing the spinal cord. (The National Right to Life
Committee Incorporated, 2014).

Associates received numerous certified payrolls from PC and their subcontractors. During the
review of these documents the compliance officer noticed that the detailed hourly rate for the
fringe benefits was not listed on the certified payrolls. At times during the project PC listed the
fringe benefits, however the payroll administrator did not provide a detailed breakdown of the
hourly rate. In addition, the compliance team discovered there were some misclassification of...

This audit required PC to submit 1) names of employees that were actually receiving fringe benefits

initial audit started in March 2017, this review included identifying the employee s classification
with site interviews conducted and cross referencing their title indicated on certified payrolls with
the wage determination the project. During this process it was discovered that the fringe benefits
hourly rate and employee misclassification restitution calculated to be $72,000.00. In order to
confirm this amount without the specific details of the fringe benefit program, the compliance
officer requested additional information to confirm this amount. In August 2017 when PC
submitted the breakdown of the fringe benefits and made corrections to the misclassifications of
several employees the compliance team concluded that only $6897.67 was owed in restitutions to
42 individuals. The audit was completed September 2017. Upon completion, PC was made aware
of these issues and provided documentation to support this review. Part II. PC

their network (Skyland Trail, 2017). The client will have to pay for fees out of pocket when

National Deficit and National Debt Essay
The growing national deficit is a looming problem in the United States now more than ever. The
national debt is constantly increasing and government spending is out of control. If these issues
are not solved then they could spell disaster for the nation s economy when the infamous debt
ceiling is finally reached. Currently the national policy on the debt is to continue raising the debt
limit until a solution is found that is agreeable between both parties in Congress. The two main
issues of over spending and the constant raising of the debts ceiling by Congress can both be
resolved by government spending reform, balancing the federal budget and initiating pro growth
policies in order to increase the government s tax revenue. The debt... Show more content on

The other issue that is facing the American government is overspending. Overspending is a
pertinent problem facing the lawmakers in Congress. In 2012 discretionary spending reached $1.3
trillion and mandatory spending $2 trillion, while only bringing in $2.5 trillion in revenue. Since
the turn of the century back in 2000, non mandatory spending by the government has topped out a
whopping $16.1 trillion just in the past 13 years (Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). This persistent
overspending on programs and services that are not necessary to the functionality of the country is
what is causing the deficit to rise year after year. To remedy this issue the government must either
increase the revenue it brings in through taxes and trade or reduce the amount of money it spend or
perhaps even both. In 2012 thirty one cents of every dollar that Washington spent was borrowed
(Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). Most of which went to large programs such as Social Security and
Medicare and if these large, growing programs, or just the budget in general, do not undergo
financial reform it could spell disaster for the economy and fiscal state of the nation. Government
spending in the United States needs to change and it needs to change soon. As mentioned earlier, in
2012 nearly a third of governments budget

  • 2. My Mother Cabaret Analysis Music is a beautiful piece of art work. It can send messages about politics, it can soothe a broken heart, or it can bring a family closer together. Music is such an important aspect in a household because it could very well be the only thing a family can connect on. The Father and Mother share their taste of music with their kin just as their parents did for them and along with their parents. The music being passed down receives a change along the way. My Father showed me Heavy Metal, Hair Metal, and Rock n Roll, whereas my Mothershowed me 80s pop, some country, and other various genres. Some of the music passed down from generation to generation may be derived from where our ancestors lived. I have recently found out, through my Mother... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I would like to focus and investigate the lack of age appropriate transportation services for the elderly and people with disabilities. The issue of transportation becomes a major concern when the elderly and people who are disabled develop uncontrollable age related illnesses and are no longer healthy to drive. Losing the privilege to drive brings independence to an end and forces the elderly to stay at home which may lead to despair and other emotions. Therefore, it is essential to provide our senior citizens and people with disabilities with reliable transportation to help them maintain their independence. So in the two poems he has used different styles of portraying the scene, in Follower he uses subtle hints of metaphors such as mapping the furrow exactly , which describes him as a sailor which is referring back to his shoulders globed as a full sail strung . So, I m going to tell you about it. For example, J.F.K. s speech. Also, about just the space space race. Lastly, about who got there first and how. J.F.K. s Speech: J.F.K. wanted to do something new while he was president, and in my opinion, that something new was to go to the moon. Kennedy said his speech at Rice University because he wanted the young peoples to tell their parents to help with the rocket payments and stuff like that. In my opinion, the best part of his speech was when he said, ...not because they are easy, but because they are hard. All About the Race: The space race first started in the 1950 s. On November 3, 1957 Russia lanuches Sputnik 2, to follow up on Sputnik 1. Inside the Sputnik 2 was a small dog named Laika, and she became the first live animal in space. Unfortunatley, Laika did not survive. Then, on Jauary 2,1959 Russia s Luna 1 is the very first space craft to go towards the moon, but unfortunatly goes past the moon and goes into orbit of the sun between Mars and our planet Earth. An Enhanced Graphical Password Scheme Using Aonv Essay AN ENHANCED GRAPHICAL PASSWORD SCHEME USING AONV ABRACT Conventional textual password has been in use for authentication for a long time due to its ease of use. However, drawbacks such as weak or stolen passwords and unrecalled passwords, has frequently compromised security. Consequently, graphical passwordtechnique has been proposed from literatures as a solution. However, this technique still faced with the challenge of peep attacks, tradeoff between easy use (minima cognitive requirement) and secured strength (moderate complexity) issues. This research presented a graphic based password scheme using Arithmetic Operators and Numerical Value (AONV) in which the aforementioned issues are addressed. The AONV model consists of registration and verification stages which users must successfully complete in order to be authenticated. A hybrid technique based on recognition, cued and pure recall was adopted. The system security was enhanced by image matching, numerical value, computational numeric secret key, arithmetic operator and shuffling of images in grid cells. This help in frustrating shoulder surfing attacks during the login session and maintain balance between usability security strengthen. The model was implemented using C#.net programming language and SQL Server 2008 serves as the backend. • 9. Bradford Assay On Unknown Concentrations Of Proteins Bradford Assay on Unknown Concentrations of Proteins Taylor Coleman September 27, 2016 Lab Group 3 BIOL 1111: General Biology Lab Fall 2015 Section 107 Chad Perry Abstract Colorimetric assay is a process of determining a concentration of a solution based on absorbance of light. The purpose of this lab is to determine if the Bradford assay is an accurate way to determine an unknown concentration of two samples of protein. The Bradford assay is done by measuring wavelength of light passing through a cuvette filled with Bradford dye and concentrations of PBS and proteins. After the cuvettes are mixed they are placed into a spectrophotometer to measure wavelength. The wavelength given will be used to plot a standard curve based on concentration (x axis) and wavelength (y axis). The standard curve is then used to measure an educated guess on the concentrations of unknown protein concentrations. We hypothesized that if we use the Bradford assay and colorimetric spectrophotometry we can determine an accurate concentration of two unknown concentrations of proteins. The results of this lab failed to reject our hypothesis based on accurate measurements of protein concentrations. The standard curves are drawn with a linear increasing slope. The Bradford assay is an accurate way to demine the concentration of an unknown concentration. As time has gone by the media has changed from what I remember as a child watching the news. It was the election of Ronald Reagon, I remember that it was a big deal. In this time we trusted the media to tell us what was going on in the country. Not to mislead us and not to lie to us. To give us the facts and not the opinions of a select few, I didn t really know any different until I the got internet, and in the mid ninety s I saw the beginning of the change in media but didn t know it. So I ask now what has happened? In this essay I will review some facts on media biasand where we are today. I will... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The next in the list, number five is one I think is used quite a bit: selective omission. Selective omission is the media controlling access to information and the manipulation of public statements. The media does this to make the subject look good on one side and bad on another to bring on an emotional response of sorts, or maybe just to hide the truth from the public for reasons unknown. Number six in the list of media violations is using true facts to draw false conclusions. This one is self explanatory. It s not used a whole lot, besides in time of war or conflict. The media uses this to make their side look better or worse, depending on what they are trying to achieve. Do they want to be winners or do they want pity from their readers or watchers? The last violation is the distortion of facts. The media does not always have the facts, so they simply make some up. The internet is really bad about this. The violation of media objectivity, are a list of bias that the media use to push their opinions of events in the way they want us to see. How dose bias apply to our media? In the list above I have seen first hand all of the seven violations of media objectivity. For some examples I would like to look at a few articles from the 2008 presidential election. The nature of the iterations will not necessarily change much; but the longevity of the software produced will certainly increase. During construction, users will drive towards giving the customer the minimum system that they need. The nature of the iterations will not change much, but your focus will be on identifying the smallest possible deliverable that will still meet at least some of the customers needs. During construction, the use cases will change a bit as the customer sees the growing system and feeds changes back to you. American s interest in ancient Greek culture develops when they sense that there s a connection between them: ...the Greek War of Independence against Turkish domination aroused the sympathy of our citizens, who saw in the Greek struggle for freedom a parallel to our own War of Independence (Downs 173). The parallelism is that they both have experience of battling for freedom from a controlling country. Another relation that makes the Americans appreciate the Greek culture even more is the archeological discovery showing Greece as the birthplace of democracy: As the Greek Revival style unfolded and developed in the United States it became as indigenous to the soil of our system of law...and our democratic system of government, which was founded on the ancient ideal of individual freedom (Downs 176). After studying and getting hold of the architectural idea and vocabulary, Greek architecture soon becomes America s national style. The classical look of the Greek architectural are made up of three primary orders: Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian. In Pollock s words , A true resolutionshould be an addition to your life, should expand your horizons and help you grow as a person . Her view is that people should have three resolutions; one from the Health Lifestyle category, another from the Education/Practice category, as well as one from the Project/Task category. I know that you will think this is very lame but I had to chose someone. Hopefully you will enjoy revisiting some of these moments we had together. About 5 years ago you were snowmobile racing, and you were doing super good until you crashed. You were racing with Dalton. I remember it was very cold outside and it was in early January. It was one of the last races of the night; you went off the edge of the track. The snowmobile went as high as the light fixtures; it was terrifying. Everyone ran over to you to check and see if you were okay. The medics arrived and took you in an ambulance to the nearest hospital. The doctors said that you had broken 5 vertebrates and shattered your tailbone. You were on bed rest for many months but ended up having a great recovery. The first maybe 12 years of our lives together you were pretty mean to me. You would make wait 3 feet behind you for the bus, wait to get inside, push me in the snow, and overall just harass me. These are just a few of the hundreds of ridiculous, cruel things I had to deal with. However, I believe this made us closer. Now we get along great and I don t know where I would be without you. • 20. Big Fish Reflection Edward Bloom was a story teller. He would tell elaborate stories to his son since he was born. Not only were the stories exciting, they were told to bring life and excitement into Edwards life. Growing up, William enjoyed his father s stories. As time goes on, the stories began to become more and more uneventful and less entertaining. This was because William has heard the same stories his whole life. He did not know what was true and what was fake. On his death bed, Edward reconnects with William by getting him to see that he was not lying his whole life, just telling his life story in a much more interesting way. Yes, some details were changed but that does not mean they were all lies. William just did not see that until the end. Big fish tells a story of adventure, love, life and death. Edward loved his family most of all. He let you know many time throughout the film. What stuck out the most to me was when he finished remodeling Jennifer s house. Jen came on to him. The love he had for his wife truly showed through when he rejected her affection. This shows, how that the head of the family loves more than anything: his wife and only son (Vega). At a young age, Will didn t have the relationship with his father that he wanted. This was because Edward was often gone for periods of time, traveling and working. Upon Edwards return, he would tell Will stories of his travels and adventures. To this end, William was not able to tell if his dads stories were true or not. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The point of this contrast is to illustrate the class struggle that was occurring in the country when Fitzgerald wrote The Great Gatsby. The comparison between rich and poor is first developed in the beginning of the book when Tom and Nick are driving to New York. Fitzgerald further elaborates on the gross differences between rich and poor when Gatsby manages to avoid a speeding ticket. This type of attitude is reflected in all of the wealthy characters in the book; the attitude of superiority simply because of the amount of money that you have. Another method that Fitzgerald uses to draw contrast between the rich and working class is through references to popular media of the time period. When Gatsby demands that Klipspringer play the piano for him and Daisy, Klipspringer plays a song Ain t We Got Fun . The first sets of lyrics that are included in the book are about having fun all day. This is a reference to the lifestyle of the rich. • 24. Hyperbole Twelfth Night The play Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare conveys the way love occurs in different forms. Twelfth Night is set in the fictional coastal European town of Illyria. The story begins when Viola, finds herself on the coast of Illyria after a shipwreck. Viola disguises herself as Cesario and gains a position working for Duke Orsino, who is deeply in lovewith Olivia. Olivia refuses his love and falls in love with his messenger, Cesario. Orsino s and Olivia s love is selfish and persistent towards Olivia and Cesario respectively. Viola is in love with Orsino but cannot express it because she would have to break her disguise. After Antonio rescues Sebastian from the shipwreck, he falls in love with him, but must conceal his love the homosexual relationship would be unacceptable. These ideas are portrayed through use of hyperbole, soliloquy, dramatic irony, aside and parallel plots. The techniques prompt the viewer to apply the situation to their own life by extracting personal morals from the text. Selfish love is felt by both Orsino and Olivia for the majority of this script. Neither characters begin to consider that the one they love may not reciprocate the emotion and they continue to force their love in a place where it will not succeed. Duke Orsino believes that the love he feels for Olivia is stronger than any love ever felt before and states this when saying. He is vain to the extent that he believes that Olivia s heart only be fulfilled with These sovereign thrones, are all supplied, and filled/Her sweet perfections with one self king (I.i.37 38). Shakespeare uses hyperbole in Orsino s lines to display how extreme, dramatic and passionate his love is to the reader. Twelfth Nightbegins with Duke Orsino performing a soliloquy which uses hyperbole to portray to the audience his narcissistic and intense personality. Olivia possesses a similar emotion but towards Cesario. She has previously hinted her love to Cesario time and time again. When she openly confesses her love, Cesario states that no woman will hold his heart. Olivia expects that Cesario will convince himself to love her when saying, thou perhaps mayst move/That heart, which now abhors, to like his love (III.i.153 154). The technique mostly ... Examples of campaigns would include point of sale sell strips that hang from the supermarket shelves. This would increase brand awareness and shelf impact of the product. While the packaging of the Tim Tam balls is altered, the core brand values of Arnott s and Tim Tam biscuits is not lost. I believe you should be very familiar with the Texas Legislature as you have served as a member of the Texas Legislature for eight years. I would like to list some of the similarities and differences between these two legislaturesto help you in the transition as the Congress has changed overtime and thus, to help develop your Home Style. The modern Congress is a reformed Congress (Shaw, 2015:2). The power of the House of Representative was held in the hand of the Speaker in the early 1900s. However, a resolution was introduced by George Norris after leading the progressive Republicans and Democrats into a revolt against Joe Cannon, the Speaker, in 1910. The power was moved to the hands of the committee chairs, which were determined by seniority, after the revolt. (Shaw, 2015:3). The seniority system was challenged in the 1950s and 1960s. As a result, a greater role was placed on the Speaker of the House and the majority party on determining the assignment of the committee chairs. Moreover, the sub committees had also become more important in the legislature. Executive Summary: This research report discusses about the object oriented (OO) environment and the strategies that are used for testing an object oriented environment. The report also lists the tactics and metrics for testing in an object oriented environment. The object oriented approach closely relates the programs to the real world with the help of objects. The popularity of OO approach has increased due to ease of reuse and modular architecture that leads to quality software. Software testing is important to ensure delivery of error free software. Testing an OO program is challenging because of the complexity due to interconnection among the components. Various testing strategies and methods can be followed to test OO software. Apart from the strategies and methods certain metrics need to be considered and used to measure the quality of the projects. Software metrics are proven measures for measuring the development of the software process. OO programs are based on hierarchy of classes and objects. The four pillars, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism and abstraction can be used to achieve reusability of code. As compared to the conventional software programming, the faults are not found in code, instead are in the interaction of the chunks of codes. Testing of an OO program begins with reviewing the object oriented analysis (OOA) and object oriented design (OOD) models. This type of school is structured much differently than all the other elementary schools in Jefferson County. The curriculum at this school is a concept driven curriculum that helps students construct meaning through improved critical thinking skills. This means that the lessons taught are inquiry based. Inquiry based instruction is centered on posing questions and establishing facts through exploration rather than simply presenting the facts to the students. With that being said, my cooperating teacher (CT) planned a very interactive Science lesson to get his students engaged in learningand doing Science. My CT told me that he did not have a specific book to teach with, yet he had essential questions and standards that needed to be met in Science. The lesson was centered on the 3rd grade Colorado academic standard 2, concept 2, which pertained to the concept of the duration and timing of life cycle events in different organisms. The essential question of how humans can have a negative or positive impact on the life cycle of animals and insects was also a guiding factor in the lesson. There is an ongoing debate on whether the federal government should regulate the insurance industry as a result of the bailouts stemming from the Financial Crisis of 2008. Currently, state governments regulate the insuranceindustry. Proponents of federal regulationreason that states are inefficient in the duty of insurance regulation. Additionally, the federal government has economies of scale and may offer an increase in efficiency unlike state regulation. The federal government regulates industries due to inherent systemic riskto the country s economic environment. Systemic risk is the risk of collapse of an entire financial system or market. (SOURCE) For example, banking institutions such as Lehman Brothers, Merrell Lynch, and Goldman Sachs were major contributors to the financial crisis in 2008 because these institutions were systemically significant to the market. The Mongolians, with the Soviets, were too strong for the Japanese to defeat them and the Japanese got surrounded. It is possible that because Japan was an empire and an expansionist once they saw Hitler taking other countries, which was how they got motivated to do it themselves. So possibly their thinking was if Hitler gets to do it, then we can too. A stronger reason why the Japanese attacked the Soviets was due to the Soviets vast wealth in oil resources. If these issues are not solved then they could spell disaster for the nation s economy when the infamous debt ceiling is finally reached. Currently the national policy on the debt is to continue raising the debt limit until a solution is found that is agreeable between both parties in Congress. In 2012 discretionary spending reached $1.3 trillion and mandatory spending $2 trillion, while only bringing in $2.5 trillion in revenue. Since the turn of the century back in 2000, non mandatory spending by the government has topped out a whopping $16.1 trillion just in the past 13 years (Boccia, Frasser Goff 2013). Most of which went to large programs such as Social Security and Medicare and if these large, growing programs, or just the budget in general, do not undergo financial reform it could spell disaster for the economy and fiscal state of the nation. Government spending in the United States needs to change and it needs to change soon. As mentioned earlier, in 2012 nearly a third of governments budget ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
