The British pride of lions ruled over the Cape Colony territory in South Africa, where two lion prides lived - the British and the Afrikaner. Some Afrikaner lions were unhappy with British rule and organized the Broaderbond to lead the Afrikaner pride on a Great Trek northward to find new lands. As they traveled, they displaced prey animals and eventually established homes and institutions in the territories they occupied, practicing their own culture and politics while excluding others. The Afrikaner pride had now become the powerful rulers over much of South Africa.
