This document proposes a solution to reduce traffic and pollution in Hyderabad by promoting corporate carpooling. Traffic is increasing by 30,000 new vehicles per month, contributing to high pollution. The document suggests targeting IT professionals and airport travelers, who make up 65% of traffic contributors, with a cost-effective carpooling solution. It describes an app called OnTimeCabs that allows people from the same company to find potential carpool partners with similar schedules and preferences to share rides. Implementing this corporate carpooling app could reduce over 25,000 cars from roads in two months and save customers money, while helping to alleviate Hyderabad's traffic and pollution problems.

These slides use ideas from my (Jeff Funk) class to develop a business model for ZipCar. Users can rent ZipCar vehicles using their mobile phones; they simply search for the closest vehicle and then find the vehicle in a prescribed parking space using GPS. This enables them to find vehicles faster than current methods. Zip Car targets people who want to use a vehicle for more than a single taxi trip and who do not live near the rental agency offices.
No Hands: The Autonomous Future of TruckingCognizant
The impacts of autonomous trucking will reverberate far beyond the trucking industry. As members of the workforce, public policy proponents, technology strategists and business leaders grapple with the technological, economic and cultural fall-out of self-driving trucks, what happens next could serve as a template for other fields influenced by AI.
Uber and Ola are the Biggest Rivals on Social MediaSimplify360
If opinions expressed on social media based on user experience is to be believed, Cab aggregators might have to really work on the trust factor. According to our study, among the top 4 players in the industry, Meru cab is the least trusted operator with user opinions analyzed that the aggregator is unsafe. On the other hand the top performer in the industry, Ola cabs has a fifty-fifty split between those who feels safe and unsafe.
Ola and Uber cab services are in a neck to neck competition in most measurement parameters. Here's a report about the complete story.
Whats exactly wrong with Uber - Legal Issues in Marketplace Services Business...Rahul Dev
Uber’s real problem is conflict of interest. Uber operates (or pretends to operate) and legally structures itself as a technology company but ends up providing taxi services, without obtaining required licenses and permits as required by local laws of each city.
The mobility disruption around the corner will largely initiated by three technology advances, but the knock-on impacts will be shaped by economic and social choices, as much as technology.
The study also throws up interesting observations like 33% of the users of Merucab users were unsatisfied. They have a very high negative sentiment towards the brand. This has led to the creation of hate accounts on Twitter.

5 things planners need to know about self driving vehiclesChris Hedden
There are numerous stories being written on self-driving vehicles today that are pretty impressive, and to be honest, almost a bit overwhelming.
In fact there are so many angles to the self-driving vehicle arena, that it is hard to know what we should be concerned about as transportation planners.
Inspired by a SlideShare I had seen by Jonathan Rosenberg at Google, my colleague, Dan Krechmer and I thought we would have some fun and talk about this exciting topic in a new way, which not only engages folks, but also informs.
We then teamed up with artist Ron Basile who brought our words to life; and did a heck of a job with the illustrations.
I hope you enjoy our perspective on this exciting development in transportation.

As part of our Marketing Management course at University Colleges Leuven-Limburg, we were set with a project to analyse a company in-depth and supply them with possible strategies for future growth. In this case, the company that was chosen was DriveNow, (now called ShareNow) an innovative car-sharing company. The project was presented to the lecturer Andy Embo and to the Belgian Managing Director of DriveNow, Christian Lambert. We received high marks and received excellent feedback
An autonomous vehicle or a driverless car (as we say in a common term) is a vehicle that is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human inputs. All major car makers of the world are busy in developing and taking a lead in Autonomous vehicle development. Companies like Google, Nissan, Tesla, Uber, Toyota, Volvo & BMW are taking a lead and already testing their prototypes.

Carpooling App India - UX Desin - Avjit ChinaraAvijit Chinara
In these slides I have explained the UX design process used during carpooling App. These slides have been sanitized to make shareable. Hope this will give a clear idea about the UX design process.
Over the last decade I was involved with a P&C insurer doing various projects & initiatives.
They were substantial and valuable activities, but all were focused on the near term and essentially dealing with the status quo.
During my last week, when I was wrapping up my last project I was asked “what issues should they look out for that would need to be addressed in the longer term?”
Great question, but I hadn’t put any thought into that so there was no insightful or useful answer I could share.
But… …I got to thinking.
Autonomous Vehicles are coming and they are supposed to have a big impact. What exactly would it be? Maybe a dip or shift, just another ripple & then things would carry on as normal, a real change, what exactly?
So I started doing some research and concluded that the end game was Fully Autonomous Rides; which led me to the conclusion that this will be the single biggest disruption since the first large scale industrial revolution driven by steam technology.
The computer finally completely displaces the driver… …and then?
Everything will be affected and nothing will be able to avoid some ripple crashing through their safe havens.
I’ve shared very specific scenarios that can be tracked, so we can watch it unfold with a game plan.
And to answer the question posed by the P&C exec…
.... You need to plan for the entire collapse of your industry;
it is only 10 to 15 years away.
Enterprise CarShare Paper - Web Publishing Class - Junior Year
In web publishing class we chose Enterprise CarShare's website as our site and we analysed everything about it. In this paper I used SEMRush to find all the statistics and then offered some suggestions on how Enterprise could make their site more user friendly.
4. We Have verified and trained drivers
Audited and qualifed cabs
Easy to book through App on any smart
phone,call centre or our website.
Have services for Airport and out stations
5. Traffic in Hyderabad is increasing at
speed of 30,000 New vehicles Per
Month
Normal vehicle has a fuel efficiency of 10 KM/L.
If a car runs 50 km/day, it consumes 150 L fuel/month
and will produce 5000 Kg CO2 in one year.
An average mature tree can absorb about 4.5 kg carbon dioxide per
year.
6. Share the cab at Economical
Price, With out Hurting your
Wallet .
7. At a speed of increasing traffic at the
rate of 3 Lakhs 60 thousand cars per
year
Hyderabad alone need
43 Crores 20 Lakhs trees every year
to remain at present condition of
Pollution
8. Govt. is doing great job by making
flyovers and widening roads
But
Can govt. make unlimited flyovers?
There is a limit to widening roads too
9. Think of condition of traffic when
cheap cars like Nano will be
launched.
1:- % of people having car will
increase.
2:- Number of car’s per family will
increase.
10. Source of Traffic
Population of Hyderabad can be divided into 3
categories
Lower Class Middle Class Higher Class
1:-These people can
not afford Car
2:-Make maximum use
of Public transport
3:- Use cycles or
walking
4:- These are 25% of
total population
1:-These people are
working in IT companies
on higher salaries
2:-These can even afford
loan for car
3:-They even travel in
public transport
4:- These are 65% of
total population
1:-These people are
working in IT companies
on higher salaries
2:-These can even afford
multiple cars at home
3:-Most of people drive
alone in car
4:- These are 10% of
total population
11. We have to Target Airport customers
and IT professionals
Which is 65% of traffic contributors
12. Characteristics of IT And airport
cabs Biggest Traffic Contributors
1:-These people are
salaried people
2:-They are very much
worried about fuel
price hike
3:-They have taken
loans to buy a car
4:-They are willing to
save money by any
means if offered
5:-They are biggest
contributor of the
traffic.
6:-They can make a
big difference in traffic
condition if given
some profitable
solution.
7:- Most of them work
in call centers and IT
companies on very
high salaries
13. If we offer them a cost effective solution for
saving petrol without compromising there
standard they will definitely accept
But the question is…. what solution can be
offered to them?
14. I have come up with a solution… Its car
Sharing solution… Its not something new
and even people did not like it in past…
15. Why people did not like car Sharing?
There were many reasons for that. I spoke to
many people and got same answers as expected.
1:- Security concern… I don’t want to pool with stranger
2:- I don’t know about car pooling concept
3:- I prefer to pool with people of my company only
4:- Most important… how can we find a right pool partner.
16. I did a lot of research on this…
I understood mentality and expectations of
people..
I found that finding a car share partner is just
like finding a life partner.
People have lot of expectation from the person
they are willing to pool.
People have choice like pooling with non
smokers , or with females only. Some people
have timing issues too.
17. Keeping all these points in mind , I designed a
solution.
It’s a “CORPORATE” car sharing APP
This word “Corporate” actually solved maximum
issues
This APP acts like a internal corporate car Sharing
website for all customers who are booking the cab.
People of same company can find each other and
pool together. They do have options to find non
smokers , male/females, travel days and timings etc
18. The name of website is
www.ontimecabs.com
And the call centre no is 99999999
Which is operational 24/7
19. We will be successfully reducing more than
25,000 cars from roads of Hyderabad in a
short time span of 2 months
And save the money of the customers
If all companies are informed about this
service, we can reduce millions of cars from
the road
Each one car pooled actually reduce 4 cars of
the roads
So sharing of 1000 cars will reduce 4000 cars
