AIM OF SHOOTING ~ To shoot clay pigeons. (which is a discus) ~ You have to try and shoot as many pigeons as you can.  ~So that you can get points for your team. ~ The winner with the most points wins a gold medal.
RULES OF SHOOTING ~The 50m rifle and pistol depends on the whether conditions.  ~If there is a large number of competitors they will held in three stages.  ~If it is a draw after the finals the judges will hold a shoot off.  ~They will continue until a winner is decided.  ~There is ten shots for the rifle and pistol or one round is 25 shots for a shotgun.
EQUIPTMENT OF  SHOOTING ~An  air pistol  is a handgun that shoots lead pellets propelled by compressed air or carbon dioxide gas. ~The  rapid-fire pistol  event specifies that the handgun may not be single-shot, therefore semi-automatic pistols or revolvers may be used.
ORIGINS ~ Shooting was first shown in 1896. ~ From just three shooting events at the 1896 Olympic Games to 15 today. ~The sport has grown rapidly. ~ When it was introduced in Athens, there were just three rifle and pistol events.
PLAYING SURFACE ~They play on a field of grass. ~At a riffle range. ~At an open area so no one gets shot. ~It is 36.7m from the standing spot to the firing bird area. ~It is 19.21m from the target crossing point to the fire station.

AUSTRALIAN REPRESENTITIVES ~Adam Vella is one of the well known Australian rep. ~He has won a  fair amount of gold medals. ~In the past Olympic games Australia has won 5x Gold, 1x Silver and 5x Bronze.
