OKO 3 mechanized complex of non
destructive testing is intended for complete
mechanized testing of rails with the velocity
of up to 65 m/min for the presence of inter
nal and surface defects during acceptance
testing of rails manufactured according to
EN13674:1 2011 and TU 0921 231 01124323.
Complex provides non destructive test
ing of rails by ultrasonic pulse echo tech
nique (“B” technique), electromagnetic
acoustic echo image (“A” technique) and
eddy current (“C” technique) techniques
according to STO RZhD 1.11.004 2009.
• Complex testing of rails by three testing
techniques: ultrasonic, EMA and eddy
current.
• Built in typical setups of channels oper
ation.
• Possibility of rails testing in “shuttle”
scanning mode.
• Accurate stored data binding by position
coordinates to each tested rail.
• Accurate real time paint marking of
rejected rail sections.
• Wireless data transmission via Wi Fi to
computer workstation, located at a dis
tance of up to 150 m from the testing
position for information storage and
testing results registration in the record
mode at different sensitivity levels.
• Registration of all rail testing results and
advanced capabilities of data analysis on
the PC of the complex workstation by all
applicable techniques.
PURPOSE
OKO 3 COMPLEX
DISTINCTIVE FEATURES
OKO 3 COMPLEX ADVANTAGIES
• Completion as agreed with the
Customer in four implementations: “ET
module” for eddy current testing, “EMA
module” for EMA testing, “UT module”
for testing of the rail head and rail head
side faces and "UT module" for the rail
web and foot testing.
• Large high contrast TFT display.
• Synchronization by encoder.
• Ergonomic protocols of data display.
• Modular system of mechanical units,
simplifying the complex repair and ser
vice.
• The following rail sections are bound for
testing in accordance with the STO
RZhD 1.11.004 2009:
FIELDS OF APPLICATION Mechanized non destructive testing of rails during their output from manufacture
at rail rolling plants, as well as incoming quality control of supplied rails.
By "A" technique —
electromagnetic acoustic:
— all rail`s height in the web projection;
— rail head from the side face.

COMPLEX SERVICE FUNCTIONS
• Sound and Light Alarm, mode switching
using “hot keys”.
• Possibility of electronic registration of
testing results directly on the flaw detec
tor and further wireless data transmission
to PC, allowing to carry out redecoding
and generation of full reports.
• Automated access modes during opera
tion with complex.
• Creation and storage of a database of
operation settings on each of the testing
techniques for all rail types.
• Possibility to attach additional rollers to
the trolleys of OKO 3 complex and sup
porting elements for trolley parking.
• Availability of encoder for the convenient
navigation through software menu of the
flaw detector.
By “B” technique — ultrasonic:
— not less than 60% of the web trans
verse cross section;
— rail base in the web projection.
— not less than 70% of the rail head.
By “C” technique eddy current:
— running surface of rail head in the
zone of ± 24 mm from the vertical axis;
— the lower side of the rail base full width
(dead zones are not more than 5 mm
from each side).

“Program of testing results review of mechanized non destructive test
ing complex OKO 3” is intended for review and analysis of testing results and is
used for interpretation and presentation of information on suspicious rail sections. This
program allows to archivate the saved data and their transmission to other PCs.
• Convenient operation with the database
of tested rails.
• Possibility to select the overall results
for protocoling on each rail by all testing
techniques along with the separate
information output by techniques.
• Possibility to measure the conditional
length and defect amplitude in display
mode.
• Possibility of detail defect review by dif
ferent criteria (date of testing, lot, test
ing result and etc).
