2. I. Background of the Company / Company Profile
It took 10 years to build The Forest Lodge, Camp John Hay.
The Forest Lodge has 80 rooms available for booking, with a total of 208 rooms to
be made available to guests once the hotel is fully operational. It’s been around
for six years.
They offer 4 types of rooms, each as spacious as the last. Their Superior
and Deluxe rooms are ideal for couples, while their Family rooms and 1-Bedroom
Suites can take in small groups of 5-6 people. Extra guests beyond their max
capacity will be charged.
There’s something for everyone at The Forest Lodge.
The 19th T, a veranda setting that overlooks parts of the Camp John Hay Golf
Club and Baguio’s famous pine trees.
The Twist, a trendy cafe that serves light and healthy options from Chef Billy’s
Asian fusion menu.
The Music Room, Located in a small room on the opposite side of The Twist’s
main dining area, it’s a place where you can listen to rock & roll classics the way
they should: playing vintage vinyl on a phonograph.
The Kiddie Corner, where the kids can have fun with a mini ball pit and enjoy
other exciting activities.
The Souvenir Shop, where the guest can buy some treats.

III. Technical and Soft Skills Learned
During my On-the-Job Training at The Forest Lodge, I was able to enhance
my knowledge and improve my technical skills inside the Hotel as a Network
Security.
The technical skills that I learned are troubleshooting networks, configuring
access points and router, cabling, probing Ethernet cables. I also learned about
installation of hardware like access points and switch, and also fixing of wirings.
The skills I learned in my internship program is how to use Photoshop. Our
supervisors asked us to make some advertisements, posters and TV signage using
Photoshop depending on what event of the hotel.
Our Supervisor asked us to do a project called Wi-Fi Heatmap where we
will identify the strength of the access points each floor of the hotel.

5. IV. Recommendations for further improvement of the Company’s Internship
Program.(if any)
The Forest Lodge is a good company. The employees are treating us
professionally. However, there is no workstation for interns; this causes the interns
the need to bring their own laptops, which is too hassle and the location of the
office of MIS is besides the office of Engineering every time they will work and
while use some paints the smell of solvent will enter the office of MIS and they are
lack of equipment’s like printer, when we need to print something we will go to
the other department to print it. I highly recommend that this company must
provide more workstation and nice place for the office. Overall, The Forest
Lodge at Camp John Hay is a nice place to get an internship experience
because there are lot of knowledge to be acquired there.
V. Advise to future interns
To the future interns, I do recommend the company because I do believe
that they will learn various things inside the hotel. They will be teaching the future
interns not only according to your Major, but they will teach you generally (both
Web Development and Network Security). Also accept their wrong doings and
learn from their mistakes so that it won’t happen again, and they must also know
how to interact with different kinds of people in the workplace because every
people has its own attitude.
