Essay about Observe a Sixth Grade English Class at Bain...
Observe a Sixth Grade English Class at Bain Middle School
I observe at Roosevelt Middle School, which is in River Forest, in
Mrs. Braun s sixth grade English class on Tuesdays in the morning. As
I have observed, I have noticed that the classroom is student centered. During computer time, Mrs.
Braun focused more on helping the students get into the computer program to start the assignment
than on having enough time to get the assignment done.
Several times, Mrs. Braun gave helpful comments on how to do things on the computer or in the
program, such as how to install automatic spell check. Mrs. Braun was also very patient as she was
being asked questions while she was trying to explain the assignment. From what I saw, some ...

Braun, and then vocabulary is covered. Then a vocabulary assignment is given with any other
new assignments on what is being cover in class. Next the teacher reads or goes over any
assigned readings from the book that is being covered in class. This is the same basic routine for
period two.
The third period is computer time and the routine seems to vary. There is a quick transition from
activity to activity during these routines.
The classroom environment is that of a basic classroom setting. There are some decorations and
other things hanging on the wall. Among the decorations is a hand made calendar on the wall by
Mrs. Braun s desk.
There is a history of each student s last name on the wall on the other side of Mrs. Braun s desk.
There seems to be a controlled temperature and lighting in the classroom and they are set at an
adequate setting. The room is arranged with five groups of desks in a circular type shape. In the
middle of the room is a cart where new assignments are put and reading journals are kept. There are
different locations throughout the room for different supplies. With the layout of the room, it
seems there is adequate space to move around and do in class activities. The physical space also
seems conducive to teaching and learning. The physical space, including seating and grouping
arrangements, seems to enhance cooperation and learning because there seems to be fewer
distractions

Letters During The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution was a time of inventions, new ideas, and the process of beginning to
make machine produced goods. Prior to the Industrial Revolution in the late 1700s, the
manufacturing of goods were often done with basic machines and hand tools. Industrialization
allowed a shift to factories, special purpose machinery, and mass production. In the 1800s when
industrialization became popular in England, it took the rest of the world by storm. England was
now using new inventions that allowed for an improvement socially and economically. As time
continued and England had an increasing demand for goods, more cost efficient methods like the
factorysystem and the rise of mechanization came into play. Along with many new inventions, the
telegraph was invented and allowed for a whole new world of communication. At the time, people
in Europeand America lacked quick forms of communication. Letters had always been used as the
most common method of communication, however it took several days or even weeks for letters
to be delivered. In cases of emergencies, letters were not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

conversation about how an electronic impulse could be carried on a wire for long distances. This
immediately sparked Samuel F. B. Morse s ideas and began to create sketches of an electric device
that he believed would be able to allow people to communicate long

Margaret Sanger And The Comstock Act Of 1873
Margaret Sanger and the Comstock Act of 1873 Rough Draft
The U.S. women s movement had its beginnings in 1848 when Elizabeth Cady Stanton and
Lucretia Mott called the Seneca Falls Convention in New York to discuss the social, civil, and
religious condition and rights of woman (Women s History in the U.S....). Over time, this inspired
many women to stand up for their own beliefs and for the better for women in future generations.
During World War I, the high birth rates led to food and supply shortages, and disease which
mainly affected those in poverty (Putting Margaret Sanger s Ideas in Context). At the time, a
woman s life revolved around bringing food home and onto the table which became an issue with
the lack of supplies and the best foods would be given to men (Comstockery in America). As a
nurse visiting, Margaret Sanger witnessed and met immigrant working mothers who were deeply
impacted by unexpected pregnancies and botched miscarriages (Amory). Margaret Sanger violated
the Comstock Act of 1873 of 1873 because she wanted to advocate women s rights which resulted
in a conflict between Sanger and the those against her ideas, and the laws that suppressed her from
advocating. As a result, as a compromise of the amendment of the Comstock Act after she gained
support from her article and supporters which resulted in Planned Parenthood, the ability to
distribute contraceptives, and a new found support for women to have more control over their lives.

Abolishing Electoral College
Former President Obama said, We need to ensure peaceful transfer of power from one freely
elected president to the next ( Obama Farewell Speech ). The sincerity of a peaceful transition of
power is decaying because of the Electoral College. The Electoral College was set up by Article II
clause II in the constitution, which laid out how the president and vice president would be elected
(Kimberling). The only major change it went through was in the form of the 12th Amendment. It
stated that the electors would cast one vote for president and one vote for vice president, instead of
naming the second place finisher vice president. Other minor changes came at the state level. An
example being the winner take all system in most states. This... Show more content on

Trust in the election process is key to democracy. Without this there is no peaceful transition of
power, which has been a keystone of the American political system (Wattenburg). One reason for
this doubt is the chance for faithless electors. Faithless electors is an elector who does not cast
their vote for the candidate that won their state ( Faithless Electors ). For example, if an elector
voted for Trump when their state s popular vote was won by Clinton. This means a person casts
their vote for the winning candidate, and the electors in their state do not have to listen to their
vote. Another source of doubt comes from the possibility of electing a minority president. The
2016 election showed the devastating results of electing a minority president. When Trump won
riots erupted across the nation. The biggest ones being in the major cities of Portland, Oakland,
and Los Angeles. In these cities the rioters chanted Not my President (Ansari). They also
vandalized buildings and cars while throwing fireworks, molotov cocktails and other objects at
officers. This led too many rests including 185 arrested in Los Angeles alone (Ansari). If the United

Freud s Theory Of Freud
Freud was one of the most significant influences in the twentieth century for psychology. He
founded and was later known as the father of psychoanalysis, it was used in treating people with
mental illnesses. Most people know psychoanalysis as the therapy/talking remedy. He would sit
his patients down and talk openly about their different emotions and problems they were currently
facing. One of Freud s cases in particular was brought to people s attention. The case of Anna O
the girls real name was Bertha, however this case was very important for Freud because it was
basically what essentially started his career. The girl he called Anna suffered from hysteria, which
is a condition in which the patient exhibits physical symptoms (e.g. paralysis, convulsions,
hallucinations, loss of speech) without apparent... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In more depth and better understanding of Freud s theory was that he believed the mind is made up
of two main parts, the conscious and unconscious mind. The conscious are all things that come
together in our minds without effort. However, the unconscious mind involves all the things that
are external to our awareness, like our hopes, dreams, wishes and worries. These things are
outside of our awareness but they still continue to impact on the way we act and the things we
may say. Freud compared the mind to an iceberg. The tip of the iceberg that is actually visible
above the water represents just a tiny portion of the mind, while the huge expanse of ice hidden
underneath the water represents the much larger unconscious. (Cherry K 2013) Freud believed
some events were so hard emotionally for some of the people to recognize that they put those awful
thoughts in their unconscious mind. Freud used a relaxing environment when seeing his patients;
he would put them almost in a deep relaxed state. The reason for this was to get the patients to

How Did Aristotle s View Of Friendship
There are many views that Aristotle holds, one of which is on the subject of friendship. Aristotle
views friendship as one of the many virtues of life, and has very interesting views on the topic. He
gives three different types of friendship, and objects that are worthy of affection: Utility, Pleasure,
and Good. Each of these types is differently put on the spectrum. Along with these three types of
friendship, Aristotlealso gives conditions to what friendship is. The many conditions that are
given are fairly simple, and not at all fixed in any sort of way. Friends must have good intentions
for each other, they must wish for the wellness of each other; they have to be on the basis of the
objects of affection! The friends must be aware of the intentions, plus it must be returned, and there
has to be some sort of equality. One note that Aristotle states is that Friendship seems to hold states
together, and Lawmakers care more for it than justice. (Aristotle, VIII. 2). Look at this statement, it
shows how those in power positions would rather have friendship, or deal with issues in a friendly
manner than turning around and using Justice. It says that life is a lot better, when people are
friends. Continuing onwards through the conditions of friendship, each one... Show more content on

have good intentions, and want the best for their friend, and wish them to do well in everything.
Just by having good intentions, the two friends fulfill the three types of friendship. This is shown
in the way that they are useful with how they act towards each other, they way they are is pleasant,
and just how their intentions are good. For example, if the friends are very kind to each other, help

`` The Yellow Wallpaper `` By Charlotte Perkins Gilman
John laughs at me, but one expects that in marriage.
Charlotte Perkins Gilman wrote, John laughs at me, of course, but one expects that in marriage. In
her The Yellow Wallpaper men attempted to prevent women from achieving their intellectual and
creative potential by making women be their subordinates. The dreadful wallpaper that Gilman
came to hate in her story is a symbolic representation of her personal life were as she gets married
her role is limited to that of a domestic servant as her husband exercises authority over her. For
example, in some parts of the world today, some women under the institution of marriage are still
caged because they must accept control or instructions from men as a social expectation. Gilman
and Chopin in their short stories how the male dominated society used power to imprison,
oppresses, silences, and encourages submissiveness among married women. The freedom for a
woman to speak, think, act and contribute to decision making in her marriage contributes to the
fight for equality between men and women.
The short story The Yellow Wallpaperby Charlotte Perkins Gilman illustrates the struggle faced
by women who seek freedom from oppression. Gilman reveals in this short story how the
narrator feels oppressed by her husband despite her love for writing by stating, He hates to have
me write a word (218). This narrator is apparently feeling trapped in a marriage that does not allow
her freedom to do the thing she enjoys. The trapped woman

The First Surgical Robot, By Dr. James Mcewen And Geof...
The first surgical robot was called the Arthrobot, developed and used for the first time in 1983 in
Canada. The team that developed this robot was led by Dr. James McEwen and Geof Auchinlek
and was in collaboration with an orthopedic surgeon by the name of Dr. Brian Day. There was
even a movie produced by National Geographic on robotics that featured the Arthrobot. Around the
same time, other medical robots were developed including a robotic arm that performed eye surgery
and another that acted as an operating assistant by handing surgeons instruments by responding
to voice commands. In 1985, another robot called the Puma 560 was used to place needles for
brain biopsies using CT guidance. The use for different robots began growing more and more as
the years moved on. This now seemed to be the standard and the future of the medical field. In
1988, Imperial College London developed the Probot. It was used to perform prostatic surgery.
Another four years goes by and in 1992 another robot called Robodoc, designed and developed
by Integrated Surgical Systems was used to mill out fittings in the femur (the largest bone in the
human body) for hip replacements. As you can see the beginning of surgical robotics was a very

have come a long way. The beginning robots open new doors in the medical profession from

Thomas Gage And His Impact On The Revolutionary War Essay
Thomas Gage and His Impact on the Revolutionary War
Matt Thompson
Mountain View High School Back in 1774 Thomas Gage had a job that no one would envy. He
would be tasked with stemming the tide of a rebellion in the colonies of North America. Many
considered him the protagonist of the English cause in the Revolutionary war. Tensions were rising
and Gage had just been appointed Military Governor of Massachusetts. With this title, he would
effectively be the most powerful British official in the 13 Colonies. Gage had control over military,
political, and diplomatic decisions (Britannica, 2015). When relations turned sour between the
American colonies and their mother country, people looked to Gage to make it right. Gage was
unable to take the necessary actions to prevent the war and ended up being a driving factor in the
American Revolution. In the beginning of Gage s time serving in the military and the start of his
tenure as Military Governor he was fairly well liked. Gage had fought in the French and Indian
War after fighting a handful of battles in Europe. He joined the military in 1741 and came to
America in 1754 (Walsh, 2013). As he served his country he began to move his way up the ranks
of the British Army. It was in 1763 that he reached the precipice of his military career, becoming
Commander in Chief of all British forces in North America. Just a few years after being appointed
Governor of Montreal, he was now the most important and influential man

Ohm s law From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the law related to electricity.
For other uses, see Ohm s acoustic law. V, I, and R, the parameters of Ohm s law. Ohm s law states
that the current through a conductor between two points is directlyproportional to the potential
difference across the two points. Introducing the constant of proportionality, the resistance,[1] one

useful equation in the field of electrical/electronic engineering because it describes how voltage,
current and resistance are interrelated on a macroscopic level, that is, commonly, as circuit

microscopic level use a closely related and more general vector equation, sometimes also
referred to as Ohm s law, having variables that are closely related to the V, I, and R scalar

Obtain a Cleaned Base History:
Base Demand + Activities + Circumstances = Final Demand Plan
When changing the demand planning process to adopt the concept, markets need to adapt historical
data. This task will be done once during the implementation of the concept.
Maintain a Cleaned Base History:
Once the concept is in place, maintain the Cleaned Base History by cleaning history of the new
historical data. This task is to be done every month/week in the monthly and weekly Demand
Planning cycles.
Validation of Cleaning with Statistical Forecasting:
Statistical Forecasting tools are strongly recommended to support Obtain a Cleaned Base History
process. Indeed,
Demand planners and Sales Marketing need to validate the consistency of the Cleaned Base History
with statistical simulation tool.
Judgmental approach:
This involves the knowledge and experience of the Demand Planners and people from Sales
Marketing. Their judgment based on the business experience is the most important input in the

Looking Down The Road, Space Exploration And The Benefits...
Looking down the road, space exploration and the benefits it yields in medicine and information
technology should not be overlooked, said former Congressmen Bob Barr in regards to the
importance of NASA. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has been a
fantastic asset to the country since the Cold War, when it began to develop satellites for
reconnaissance against the Soviets. In the many years after the Cold War, NASAs science had
helped mainly in the military, but now in other areas of life as well. The United States government
should prioritize NASA because of technological advancements, economics benefits, enhancement
of foreign relations, and human expansion. On October 1, 1958, the government launched NASA.
During that time, the U.S. was fighting the Cold War with Russia and concern over domestic
safety increased significantly. The government initiated NASA in order to spy on Russia using
satellites launched into space ( A Brief History of NASA ). This caused the start of the Space Race
in which the U.S. and Russia competed in developing military technology and, eventually, space
technology. In the dawn of the Space Race, Russia was in the lead. They had achieved a greater
number of successful satellite launches, including sending the first probe to the moon. They later
sent a dog to orbit the Earth. Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was the first human to orbit Earth

of the olympics, Alexander the Great, and The Persian War. Ancient Egyptand ancient Greece are
very unique in their own way. Greece and Egypt both had ancient civilizations, but they differ in
their clothing/appearance and their jobs.
Foremost, the people of ancient Greece were very concerned with their clothing and their
appearance. They tried their best to look presentable and clean. The clothing that they wore were
very comfortable and simple. The machine that they use to create their clothing was called a loom.

Almost all of the Egyptians clothing was made of linen. Out of the linen, men commonly wore
kilts while women wore dresses with two straps attached. Although, they usually left the linen
their natural beige color, they made the clothing different colors using plant based dyes. During
the New Kingdom, when the pharaoh Ahmose came into ruling, clothing began to get more
complicated. They had robes with a pleated linen design that laid against the body elegantly. For
special events both men and women wore short medium length wigs. No matter your age or your
gender, jewelry was a must! One of the most iconic things of ancient egypt is how the rich wore
eyeliner around their eyes that is made out of kohl. Another common thing to do relating to
makeup is wearing oils. Since the desert it is very hot, the oil keeps them from drying up, looking
old, and being dry was not they re favorite. To smell fresh, woman bathed often and put on sweet
smelling perfumes. As you can see, ancient Egypt was also very concerned with the way that they

Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Intervention
Mr. Harry Bright has undergone a procedure called percutaneous transluminal coronary
intervention (PTCI) via femoral approach for the treatment of his progressive unstable angina.
Femoral artery is the most common access site used for PCI because of its size and its direct
passageway to the heart (Young, 2014 p.431; Cosman, Arthur, Bryant Lukosius, Strachan, 2015
p.180). In this procedure, a cardiac catheter followed by a stent is inserted to the arteryto dilate the
occluded bloodvessel and improve blood flow (Young, 2014 p.430). The occlusive atherosclerotic
plaque are usually associated with Mr. Bright s diabetes, hypetension and smoking history. Contrary

No further data was mentioned apart from minimal oozing. This led to the understanding that
because angioplasty is an invasive procedure it is vital to perform a thorough assessment on the
wound site to check for signs of bleeding and infection. As cited by Benbow (2016 para.1) in her
article, an accurate wound assessment would yield to the delivery of effective nursing management
and prevention of impending health issues. Moreover, she also mentioned in her paper that
comorbidities such as diabetes, smoking, and ageing would slow down the healing process (para.4).
These comorbidities are well presented in Mr. Bright s history. This study is further augmented by
an evaluation research headed by Greatrex White and Moxley (2013 p.295 296) wherein they
enumerated a criteria necessary for wound assessment. In their research, the wound assessmet tool
comprises of the following: details and characteristics, wound measurement using, tissue type,
exudate, pain, signs of infection, and surrounding skin. Furthermore, since hematoma formation, a
benchmark of wound assessment tends to occur after patient is discharged, educating him and his
significant other how to measure his hematoma is significant. Cosman et. al. (2015 p.182 183)
proposed different methods of measuring hematoma. A general method described includes the
precise measurement of length and width of the wound

Michael Hyman s The Ethics Of Psychoactive Ads
When companies are making an ad for a product. One of their goals is to make it sound like the
best thing ever and if you don t buy it your regret it. The other is to make it so people can
understand and relate to it in an instant. They need to meet both of these goals so that the
product or service that they are trying to sale has the highest possible chance of getting sold. So
in order to accomplice both of the goals they need to implement different strategies and
techniques. According to The Ethics Of Psychoactive Ads by Michael Hyman, There are three
simple practices that greatly increase the effectiveness of an advertisement. The first is to aim the
ad at the average person and not worry about specific situations that good make your ad look bad.
This is because the ad will encourage more people to get the product or service and also its

She says The very nature of the advertising medium itself necessitates the use of symbols and
advertisement was to be effective, its message had to quickly absorbed and understood. thus, in
their depiction of ethnic groups, advertisers often used commonly held stereotypes. A great
example comes from the same journal when they show an ad from 1936 where they have a
black person helping a white guy with his bags at a hotel. When most people thought a service
worker at a hotel they thought of someone like him and because of this serotype the ad has no
reason to explain it the reader already knows. The other part is making a person relate to the
people in the ad. They do this by targeting a specific group of people. The journal Caveat Emptor:
Let the Buyer Beware does a great job showing this, If a company wants to sell its product to
women, very often there will be a baby in the ad. If a company is targeting men, very often a
beautiful woman will be the product s

Civil Law
Civil law (common law)
Civil law is the branch of law dealing with disputes between individuals or organizations, in which
compensation may be awarded to the victim. For instance, if a car crash victim claims damages
against the driver for loss or injury sustained in an accident, this will be a civil law case.[1] Civil
law differs from criminal law, whose emphasis is more on punishment than in dispute resolution.
The law relating to civil wrongs and quasi contract is part of the civil law.[2]
Overview
In the common law, civil law is the area of laws and justice that affect the legal status of
individuals. Civil law, in this sense, is usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be contrasted with common law systems whose intellectual framework comes from judge
madedecisional law which gives precedential authority to prior court decisions on the principle that
it is unfair to treat similar facts differently on different occasions (doctrine of judicial
precedent).[1][2]
Historically, civil law existed in the times of Ancient Egypt and it is the group of legal ideas and
systems ultimately derived from the Code of Justinian, but heavily overlaid by Germanic, canon
law, feudal, and local practices,[3] as well as doctrinal strains such as natural law, codification, and
legislative positivism.
Conceptually, civil law proceeds from abstractions, formulates general principles, and distinguishes
substantive rules from procedural rules.[4] It holds case law to be secondary and subordinate to
statutory law, and the court system is usuallyinquisitorial, unbound by precedent, and composed of
specially trained judicial officers with a limited authority to interpret law.Juries separate from the
judges are not used, although in some cases, benches may be sat by lay judges alongside legally
trained career judges.
Overview
The purpose of codification is to provide all citizens with an accessible and written collection of
the laws which apply to them and which judges must follow. It is the most widespread system

Justice Is Justice In Beowulf
Inquiry Questions
What is justice?
Justice is just behavior or treatment, being fair.
In Beowulf, for the people justice means killing Grendel because that is what he has been doing to
them. He has been killing their people. On page 21 lines 478 479 the king says Lord Almighty
could stop his madness, smother is lust! This means that they want Grendel to be taken care of
because he has done so much damage. For them justice means we ll do to you what you ve done to
us.
When Grendel s mother attacks Herot she is trying to make justice for her son. She wants
revenge on the people that killed him. In order to get revenge, she kills of Hrothgar s closest
friends. On pages 52 lines 1276 1278 and 53 lines 1296 the author says His mother s sad heart,
and her greed, drove her from her den on the dangerous pathway of revenge and She d taken
Hrothgar s closest friend. This means that she thought she was getting justice for her son by killing
someone else.
After the dragon attacks the Geats, Beowulf decides to go after it and seeks revenge for his people.
Like before, for him killing this monster is the way to make justice. When he does end up
defeating the dragon, he believes he has served justice for the people that he is responsible for and
cares about. On page 92 lines 2335 2337 the author says what Beowulf was thinking, The Geats
deserved revenge; Beowulf, their leader and lord, began to plan it... When this is said, it means that

A Dystopian Future in Brave New World Essay examples
Brave New World is a remarkable journey into the future wherein mankind is dehumanized by the
progress and misuse of technology to the point where society is a laboratory produced race of
beings who are clones devoid of identity only able to worship the three things they have been
preconditioned to love: Henry Ford, their idol; Soma, a wonder drug; and sex (Dusterhoof, Guynn,
Patterson, Shaw, Wroten and Yuhasz 1). The misuse of perfected technologies, especially those

Regardless of the progress of technology, the real issue is not the capabilities and potential uses
of new sciences. The real issue, as it is in Brave New World, is that there will always exist those
who use new technologies for personal gain, evil pursuits and as an attempt to maintain power
and control (like the State does in Brave New World). The ideal concept may be a state of
stability that it unchanging, but this comes from our own internal dichotomy between a need
for stability and the conflict with the instability of being real. No state has ever achieved such a
stable condition in the history of mankind anyway, Historically, no actual political state has ever
achieved stability and only a very few have approximated it...Even so this is the aim for which
all politicians and political states plan (Firchow 85). Therefore, even though we have the power
to splice and locate genes that will modify human characteristics and behavior (like manipulating
a baby s sex or sexuality), who would choose to allow this power in only the hands of a few,
powerful interests? What would stop powerful white monied interests from trying to rid society of
supposed undesirables like blacks, Hispanics, homosexuals or even women? After all, by being
able to breed children outside of the womb, some men may feel their truly useful purpose is
achievable without them. Some contend that no loss of humanity is involved in

The Importance Of The Black Plague In The Medieval Era
One of the most well known times throughout the Medieval Era was not only the most well known,
but probably one of the most deadliest that kill one third to one half of the population all throughout
Europe and some of its surrounding counties, continents. More commonly all of Europe and
counties within the continent of Asia were affected by this plague. Many men, women, children,
animals and even livestock were killed did during this infectious diseaseera. This infectious disease
is commonly known to be called the Black Plague or also known as the Black Death. This deadly
disease had to be one of the most popular if not the number one event in the Medieval Era that
forever changed that era and for the eras to follow.
According to the textbook, in the 1300s Europe and Asia had a very close, strong connection that

Decriminalization Of Marijuana Legalization
35 million Americans use marijuana on a monthly basis, while at least 78 million Americans use at
some point according to a survey by Yahoo News/Marist College (Kate); however, marijuana is an
illegal drug in most of The United States. Marijuana has been outlawed, and the potential benefits
from legalization outweigh the detriments of criminalization. Marijuana can be decriminalized by
affecting the general consensus of the public through social media and removing cannabisfrom
Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act.
There are many benefits of decriminalizing marijuana, from the ability to tax to the overall fixing
of a historic problem; however, there is much more the illegality of marijuana imposes. The idea of
marijuana being legalized resulting in increased drug usage rates is a fallacy. Marijuana legalization
will not necessarily skyrocket the rate of which Americans use marijuana: the observed usage rate
in America is 11%, while Norway, a country where the drug is legalized, has an observed rate of
7% (Marijuana Legalization Leads to a Reduction in Crime). This information is pertinent because
it nullifies the notion of increased drug use in America as a consequence of legalization; the
common user of marijuana will continue usage independent of the legality. Marijuana
criminalization aids in linking illegal activities to drugs, raising the participation in the illegal
activities. Violence, prostitution, and gambling are associated with marijuana due to the

SchillerВґs Aesthetic Philosophy of Human Nature
Schiller takes the position that his age is lacking something, meaning that it is missing a certain
something that is essential for all human beings. In other words, the part is missing the whole .
Friedrich Schiller on the Sixth Letter of his text On the Aesthetic Education of Man in a Series of
Letters gives an example of a culture, which was not wanting. This culture, the Hellenic Greeks,
seemed to manage a perfect balance between art and wisdom, and their connection to nature, for
they realized art and wisdom were not something of their own that detached them from nature, but
that they were the road itself, which one had to take to find his way towards nature. Schiller states
this differently. For they were wedded [the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Schiller asserts that beauty is an aesthetic unity of thought and feeling, of reason and emotion. It
Is by the attainment of this unity that Schiller believes enables human nature to be realized and
fulfilled. That Beauty may lead to truth, meaning one can become the ideal through joining the
logical and the emotional. However, when truth is perceived, feeling may follow thought, or
thought may follow feeling.(189) When beauty is understood, thought is unified with feeling.
He states the need for this unity much beautifully than just a philosopher could The reality of
things is the work of the things; the appearance of things is the work of man and a nature which
delights in appearance no longer takes pleasure in what it receives, but in what it does (125). At
first, the second half did not make much sense, but upon reflection one may see that Schiller is
saying we should not just revel in what the senses take in, but use our reason to look deeper,
beyond the surface. Schiller however does not believe this is a realistic goal or even an attainable
one, as we discussed in class. Schiller needs to make some sort of distinction between the potential
Man and the goal of Man, as a manifestation or visualization of that potential or archetype. The
impossibility of ever attaining the ideal calls for the identification of potential and goal, which
shows that they cancel each other out: unrealizable potential is not,

Assisted Suicide Arguments Against Euthanasia
What is life? Life according to Merriam Webster s learner s dictionary, is the experience of being
alive. If you are already in pain suicide will only cause more pain not only to you but to the people
you love the most. Who knows you might not be in the right state of mind, you might get better, it
could be murder, and it is definitely not humane. Assisted suicideis not right and it breaks the theory
of medicine.
How do we know that people aren t actually committing murder while assisting with suicide?

Doctors and nurses will take away all food and water in hopes for a quick death. If all food and
fluids (nutrition and hydration) are removed from a person whether that person is a healthy
Olympic athlete who takes food and fluids by mouth or a frail, disabled person who receives them
by a feeding tube death is inevitable. That death will occur because of dehydration (Methods of
Euthanasia). Dr. Helga Kuhse, activist for euthanasia, said, If we can get people to accept the
removal of all treatment and care especially the removal of food and fluids they will see what a
painful way this is to die and then, in the patient s best interest, they will accept the lethal injection

One of the last forms is through injection. The first injection causes your body s muscles to relax,
and the second one is to stop the heart. The patient usually dies from the muscle relaxant. When
death is slowed down, there is a chance of cardiac arrest, so there is a pill given so it doesn t

Issues Of The Modeling Industry
Issues in the Modeling Industry Fashion is everything to society and the media, but everyone
wants to look good while feeling beautiful in their own way. Everyone believes that fashion is an
easy, fashionable, and sophisticated style. Today, the modeling industry has become negative for
older and younger women. The people in the industry do not prefer unhealthy body images such as
pictures of overweight women. Women suffer from depression and anxiety. The modeling industry
has been very harmful towards women in America. It effects women by not achieving a healthy,
being strong, and confident body image regardless of shape and size.
Having a skinny body is very important in the modeling industry. Bigger women always get turned
down. This makes them feel unhealthy and not as beautiful as the other women that are modeling.
The hard part for models is to keep their weight down to a certain number, otherwise, they are not
allowed to model anymore. Today, in America many women are suffering from eating disorders,
and other negative behaviors which make women do things to their body that they should not do.
Men are attracted to healthy women regardless if the woman is older. Most modeling agencies
prefer skinny women because they believe having smaller women as models would attract men
there to support them. The media thinks being overweight is ugly which is unfair for bigger
women because women of any size should be able to model. The media shows thin women on

Postmodern Views On The State
Postmodern Views on the State
Many societies have experienced post modernization as the de centralization of society, politics,
and economy as well as the decline of the various dominant modernization paradigms, which
structured industrial society both formally and informally in the past decades (Best and Kellner
1997; Drake 2010). In social are, for example, the ethnic or cultural bases of many nationalities
have started to dissolve and societies have become more multiethnic, multicultural, fragmented
and melting pots of various hybrid postmodern identities (Jessop 2015:157). In political era,
scholars have advanced the end of ideology thesis during the end of the 1980s and especially with
the collapse of the Soviet Communist Bloc. The liberalism, individualism, post modernist
discourses were triumphant and announcing the dawn of a new era in which early ideological
conflicts would disappear as a source of political conflict on the global scale (Fukuyama 1993). In
economy field, at the start of the twenty first century, almost everyone can realize the significance

Scholars also argue that we are now living in an age of pocket book politics , which means that
with the decline of traditional political ideologies, narrowly conceived economic self interest has

Abstract In this study a new noise source is proposed as a one of renewable energy sources in
energy harvesting. Disk Jokey (DJ) is a common device in celebrations and other events.
Converting the produced noise from DJ to electric energy by using a suitable piezoelectric
transducer is the main aim of this study. Piezoelectric sensors used to convert the sound waves to
electric charges. Piezoelectric sensor of the model 7BB 41 2 was used. The piezoelectric sensors
were connected in series, parallel, and series with parallel combination connections. The disk
jockey was used as an acoustic noise source. The sound intensity levels of the output sound were 81,
84, 87 dB. The output of the three connection modes were measured at 0, 1,2,3,4, and 5cm distance.
The results showed that the parallel connection gave the highest power at the various distances. The
maximum generated power was 4.96mwatts without using an external power supply for the signal
condition device. The power decreases by increasing the distance from the source of the noise.

Andy Warhol Pop Art Era
Andy Warhol , was one of the most iconic painters to date. Known for his unconventional takes
on images varying from Marilyn Monroe to soup cans, his love of bright colors and bold patterns
brought these images to life and helped pave his way as a major figure in the pop art movement.
His work really set the tone of the Pop ArtEra. It pulled in a lot of pop culture and always made
some kind of statement, whether noticeable or not contrary to the previous generation. For
example, when Andy was discussing his Campbell s Soup Cans painting he said I used to drink
it. I used to have the same lunch every day, for 20 years, I guess, the same thing over and over
again. Which can really tell you how times were back then, he was a child of poverty just like
many people in that time period.
His parents were immigrants to the United States, Pavol and Julia Warhola by way of the Czech
Republic, on August 6, 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was one of three sons, his brothers
names , John and Pavol Warhola. Around the age of 8 Andy was un fortunately diagnosed with
Chorea that left him to live in the bed. To soothe his boredom his mother gave him his first
drawing lessons. So you could kind of say it was a bittersweet occurrence that he contracted the
Chorea illness , because it sparked his real passion for art. However a few years later in ... Show

For this technique Andy took two pieces of paper , laid them next to each other and attached
them by a piece of tape that acted as a hinge. Then he drew on the right sided sheet, and before
the ink dried he lifted it up and folded it down on top of the left hand sheet. The blotted line was a
smudged mirror image of the original line he had drawn. He liked the look it gave and the idea that
his hand had not actually drawn the line onto to the paper that actually contained the final

Metaphors Of Ephesians 1
In Ephesians 1 verse 11 it means that if you are a believer, God has assigned you to His chosen life.
That we have been chosen as Gods portion and He has appointed you to Himself. It also means that
God has chosen us as His inheritance. This is one of the many blessings which we have as
believers. God does this according to His purpose and His will. Godis never forced by anyone or
anything outside of Him. Everything is under His control and is part of His plan. Every flower
and plant God controls its birth, it s growth and its death. Laws such as gravity and physics are
under His control. God never makes mistakes! He is in control of all creation and nothing is by
chance. There is nothing outside of His control. When I read this verse, it means to me that I
was planned to be on this Earth, by God. I was thought about even before my mom and dad were
born. That God picked my mom and dad just for me. God has a plan for my life and I should be
looking for His will in my life and to live it. God controls everything that happens to me and will
happen to me. God knows my future and my destiny. Ephesians 1 verse 12 talks about Gods work
of the Father. God does everything for a purpose and to glorify Himself. God does this so that all
created beings and events will bring him glory. God is love, pleasure, will,

Marketing Director For Bright House Networks
Colleen Dillaway is a Sales and Marketing director for Bright House Networks. She has over 15
years of experience managing, public relations, and sales channels. She has crisis management
skills and media relations. She has a history working with ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX news.
Dillaway showed the class commercials for Bright House and explained the approaches that were
taken to reach different customers. I will apply the concepts Dillaway used and apply them to our
textbook. In chapter 13 Public Relationsand Marketing is the main focus. Marketing is the process
of researching, creating, refining, and promoting a product or service and distributing that product
or service to targeted consumers (pg. 402 3). Publicrelations are the values driven management of
relationships between an organization and the publics that can affect its success (pg.403).
Dillaway had to collect research to better understand how to gain and keep customers. In the
process of her research she was also able to better advertise Bright House services as well. For
example, Dillaway informed the class how Bright House created a commercial to aim directly at
Bakersfield customers in doing this the commercial was filmed here. Chapter 13 also defines
advertising as controlled media in an attempt to influence the actions of targeted publics. Going
back to the Bakersfield commercial, we can see the that the targeted publics was Bakersfield
consumers. Miranda Whitworth is the Marketing Manager for Kern Federal

Resolving Conflicts in Space Resource Commercial Exploration and Utilization with The Outer
Space Treaty of 1967
Author: Erin L. Williamson
Abstract
As technology progresses, so too does humanity s reach. November of 2015 saw a new Act signed
into law that promotes commercial activity in space. The activities of acquisition and use of
asteroid and space resources must be in compliance with the Outer Space Treaty. This paper reviews
the new Act and identifies three areas where the Act may be in conflict with the Treaty: threatening
scientific investigation in outer space, appropriating space resources, and introducing potential
harmful biological contamination. Here, the reasons for their conflict are described and possible

citizens (U.S. Commercial Space Launch Competitiveness Act, 2015).
The Act is a boon to Planetary Resources, which is one of only two companies known to be
actively developing technologies to mine near Earth asteroids for their water, hydrocarbons, and
precious metals. Planetary Resources (n.d) states on its website that it intends to deliver these
resources back to Earth. However, Deep Space Industries, Inc., (2016) the other asteroid mining
company, alternatively proposes to keep the resources in situ to spur human expansion into the solar
system. The mining technologies and resources left in situ will likely encourage other space
companies like SpaceX to strengthen their pursuit of exploration or colonization missions to Mars.
While these companies, buoyed now by additional support from the U.S. federal government,
enthusiastically pursue a space age gold rush , little concern appears to be given to their
significance in regard to the 1967 Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the
Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. This treaty is
colloquially referred to as the Outer Space Treaty. There are multiple points of potential conflict
with this important document, which has been signed by 104 countries, in the practices of the
nascent commercial space industry of the United States. These conflicts include: threatening
scientific investigation in outer space,

Declaration of Independence s Focus on Abuse Rather Than...
The American Declaration of Independence, penned mostly by Thomas Jefferson in 1776, is a
beloved document and symbol of freedom in the hearts and minds of Americans. The iconic,
tripartite slogan of this document is the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And
while this is for many the most memorable phrase in the document, the actual content focuses
much more on the abuses and injuries of King George III than on these inalienable rights. In fact,
Jefferson lists twenty seven specific abuses of King George III compared to the three listed
inalienable rights. The question then arises, why does Jefferson parse his argument for
independence in such a way? This essay seeks to show that Jefferson chose to focus on the... Show

By no means was Thomas Jefferson a bigot or racist; he was a product of his era, an era of slavery
and social injustice for blacks. While writing about the rights of all men, he would have had to
realize that saying all men have a right to liberty contradicted his own ownership of many
slaves. Thus, he keeps the discussion of the rights of man short and focuses on the not
hypocritical attack on George III. He pays lip service to the idealistic view of equality of men
but focuses on the more concrete abuses and injuries of the King to justify independence for
America. Jefferson s cursory treatment of the rights of man and lengthier attention to George III s
mistreatment is also a product of his audience. Jefferson is not writing to somehow change the
mind of Britons or their King. America had been at war with Britain for a year when Jefferson
wrote the Declaration, having fought Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill a full year or more
before the Declaration would be signed. He wrote more to edify and encourage his compatriots and
remind them of the reason for war and inspire them to victory. Within days of its completion and
signing, the Declaration was copied by George Dunlap for distribution and had been transmitted to
many prominent Americans, including General George Washington. A fragment of the copy
Washington had remains in the Library of Congress to this day. Washington ordered the Declaration

Gonzalez v. Reno, 212 F.3d 1338 (11th Cir. 2000)
Procedural History:
Plaintiff, Elian Gonzalez, a six year old minor, through his next of friend , Lazaro Gonzalez, filed
an asylum application with the INS (Immigration amp; Naturalization Service), which was denied.
The plaintiff s then filed a claim in the federal district court which stated the Plaintiff s due process

Issue:
Whether a minor child can file for asylum without the consent of a parent or legal guardian?
Rule:
8 U.S.C.A. В§ 1158 (West 2012) states any alien who is physically present in the United Statesor
who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an
alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United
States waters), irrespective of such alien s status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this
section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title.
Analysis:
The main issues before the Court were two fold. First, could a six year old child apply for
asylum without a parent or legal guardian and secondly, did the INS overstep their authority in
denying the application for asylum. Statute 8 USC В§ 1158 states that any alien could apply for
asylum, however, the INS rejected that a six year old child had the mental capacity to make that
decision for himself. The INS interviewed both the Uncle Lazaro Gonzalez and the father Juan
Gonzalez and determined that the father was the legal guardian, therefore had the right to speak
for Elian Gonzalez. Elian s reasons for seeking asylum were fear of persecution . According to the
uncle, if Elian, were returned to Cuba,

Comparing Story Of An Hour And John Steinbeck s The Chrysan
Comparing and contrasting Kate Chopin The Story of an Hour and John Steinbeck The
Chrysanthemums the reader can tell that both short stories have a sufficient role in today s society.
According to Neil Wyatt, As a writer, Kate Chopin wrote swiftly and mostly without revision (2).
According to Linda Stubbs who wrote a biography on John Steinbeck, John Steinbeck wondrous
works has a profound effect on United States citizens (1). Both authors are well known and have
many wondrous works that reveal. When comparing and contrasting The Story of an Hourby Kate
Chopin with The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, one can see that loneliness greatly affects
human beings.
First, one may see the similarities and differences from the two short stories by the character s
actions. Mrs. Mallard is confused on emotions when all of a sudden it hits her that she is now an
independent woman. Elisa is also confused with emotions how the Tinker was so curious about the
Chrysanthemum, yet she found it on the side of the road. The characters differentiate because
Brently makes his appearance of being very much alive, Mrs. Mallard ends up dying. According to

Industrialization allowed a shift to factories, special purpose machinery, and mass production. In the 1800s when industrialization became popular in England, it took the rest of the world by storm. England was now using new inventions that allowed for an improvement socially and economically. As time continued and England had an increasing demand for goods, more cost efficient methods like the factorysystem and the rise of mechanization came into play. Along with many new inventions, the telegraph was invented and allowed for a whole new world of communication. At the time, people in Europeand America lacked quick forms of communication. Margaret Sanger And The Comstock Act Of 1873 Margaret Sanger and the Comstock Act of 1873 Rough Draft The U.S. women s movement had its beginnings in 1848 when Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott called the Seneca Falls Convention in New York to discuss the social, civil, and religious condition and rights of woman (Women s History in the U.S....). Over time, this inspired many women to stand up for their own beliefs and for the better for women in future generations. During World War I, the high birth rates led to food and supply shortages, and disease which mainly affected those in poverty (Putting Margaret Sanger s Ideas in Context). At the time, a woman s life revolved around bringing food home and onto the table which became an issue with the lack of supplies and the best foods would be given to men (Comstockery in America). As a nurse visiting, Margaret Sanger witnessed and met immigrant working mothers who were deeply impacted by unexpected pregnancies and botched miscarriages (Amory). Margaret Sanger violated the Comstock Act of 1873 of 1873 because she wanted to advocate women s rights which resulted in a conflict between Sanger and the those against her ideas, and the laws that suppressed her from advocating. The sincerity of a peaceful transition of power is decaying because of the Electoral College. For example, if an elector voted for Trump when their state s popular vote was won by Clinton. This means a person casts their vote for the winning candidate, and the electors in their state do not have to listen to their vote. Another source of doubt comes from the possibility of electing a minority president. The 2016 election showed the devastating results of electing a minority president. When Trump won riots erupted across the nation. The biggest ones being in the major cities of Portland, Oakland, and Los Angeles. In these cities the rioters chanted Not my President (Ansari). He founded and was later known as the father of psychoanalysis, it was used in treating people with mental illnesses. Most people know psychoanalysis as the therapy/talking remedy. The case of Anna O the girls real name was Bertha, however this case was very important for Freud because it was basically what essentially started his career. The conscious are all things that come together in our minds without effort. However, the unconscious mind involves all the things that are external to our awareness, like our hopes, dreams, wishes and worries. These things are outside of our awareness but they still continue to impact on the way we act and the things we may say. Freud compared the mind to an iceberg. The tip of the iceberg that is actually visible above the water represents just a tiny portion of the mind, while the huge expanse of ice hidden underneath the water represents the much larger unconscious. (Cherry K 2013) Freud believed some events were so hard emotionally for some of the people to recognize that they put those awful thoughts in their unconscious mind. Aristotle views friendship as one of the many virtues of life, and has very interesting views on the topic. He gives three different types of friendship, and objects that are worthy of affection: Utility, Pleasure, and Good. Each of these types is differently put on the spectrum. Along with these three types of friendship, Aristotlealso gives conditions to what friendship is. The many conditions that are given are fairly simple, and not at all fixed in any sort of way. Friends must have good intentions for each other, they must wish for the wellness of each other; they have to be on the basis of the objects of affection! The friends must be aware of the intentions, plus it must be returned, and there has to be some sort of equality. One note that Aristotle states is that Friendship seems to hold states together, and Lawmakers care more for it than justice. (Aristotle, VIII. 2). Look at this statement, it shows how those in power positions would rather have friendship, or deal with issues in a friendly manner than turning around and using Justice. The law relating to civil wrongs and quasi contract is part of the civil law.[2] Overview In the common law, civil law is the area of laws and justice that affect the legal status of individuals. Conceptually, civil law proceeds from abstractions, formulates general principles, and distinguishes substantive rules from procedural rules.[4] It holds case law to be secondary and subordinate to statutory law, and the court system is usuallyinquisitorial, unbound by precedent, and composed of specially trained judicial officers with a limited authority to interpret law.Juries separate from the judges are not used, although in some cases, benches may be sat by lay judges alongside legally trained career judges. The real issue, as it is in Brave New World, is that there will always exist those who use new technologies for personal gain, evil pursuits and as an attempt to maintain power and control (like the State does in Brave New World). The ideal concept may be a state of stability that it unchanging, but this comes from our own internal dichotomy between a need for stability and the conflict with the instability of being real. Decriminalization Of Marijuana Legalization 35 million Americans use marijuana on a monthly basis, while at least 78 million Americans use at some point according to a survey by Yahoo News/Marist College (Kate); however, marijuana is an illegal drug in most of The United States. Marijuana has been outlawed, and the potential benefits from legalization outweigh the detriments of criminalization. Marijuana can be decriminalized by affecting the general consensus of the public through social media and removing cannabisfrom Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. There are many benefits of decriminalizing marijuana, from the ability to tax to the overall fixing of a historic problem; however, there is much more the illegality of marijuana imposes. The idea of marijuana being legalized resulting in increased drug usage rates is a fallacy. Marijuana legalization will not necessarily skyrocket the rate of which Americans use marijuana: the observed usage rate in America is 11%, while Norway, a country where the drug is legalized, has an observed rate of 7% (Marijuana Legalization Leads to a Reduction in Crime). This information is pertinent because it nullifies the notion of increased drug use in America as a consequence of legalization; the common user of marijuana will continue usage independent of the legality. SchillerВґs Aesthetic Philosophy of Human Nature Schiller takes the position that his age is lacking something, meaning that it is missing a certain something that is essential for all human beings. In other words, the part is missing the whole . Friedrich Schiller on the Sixth Letter of his text On the Aesthetic Education of Man in a Series of Letters gives an example of a culture, which was not wanting. This culture, the Hellenic Greeks, seemed to manage a perfect balance between art and wisdom, and their connection to nature, for they realized art and wisdom were not something of their own that detached them from nature, but that they were the road itself, which one had to take to find his way towards nature. Schiller asserts that beauty is an aesthetic unity of thought and feeling, of reason and emotion. It Is by the attainment of this unity that Schiller believes enables human nature to be realized and fulfilled. That Beauty may lead to truth, meaning one can become the ideal through joining the logical and the emotional. However, when truth is perceived, feeling may follow thought, or thought may follow feeling.(189) When beauty is understood, thought is unified with feeling. He states the need for this unity much beautifully than just a philosopher could The reality of things is the work of the things; the appearance of things is the work of man and a nature which delights in appearance no longer takes pleasure in what it receives, but in what it does (125). At first, the second half did not make much sense, but upon reflection one may see that Schiller is saying we should not just revel in what the senses take in, but use our reason to look deeper, beyond the surface. Schiller however does not believe this is a realistic goal or even an attainable one, as we discussed in class. Schiller needs to make some sort of distinction between the potential Man and the goal of Man, as a manifestation or visualization of that potential or archetype. The impossibility of ever attaining the ideal calls for the identification of potential and goal, which shows that they cancel each other out: unrealizable potential is not, ... However, Deep Space Industries, Inc., (2016) the other asteroid mining company, alternatively proposes to keep the resources in situ to spur human expansion into the solar system. The mining technologies and resources left in situ will likely encourage other space companies like SpaceX to strengthen their pursuit of exploration or colonization missions to Mars. While these companies, buoyed now by additional support from the U.S. federal government, enthusiastically pursue a space age gold rush , little concern appears to be given to their significance in regard to the 1967 Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, Including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies. This treaty is colloquially referred to as the Outer Space Treaty. There are multiple points of potential conflict with this important document, which has been signed by 104 countries, in the practices of the nascent commercial space industry of the United States. These conflicts include: threatening scientific investigation in outer space, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Declaration of Independence s Focus on Abuse Rather Than... The American Declaration of Independence, penned mostly by Thomas Jefferson in 1776, is a beloved document and symbol of freedom in the hearts and minds of Americans. The iconic, tripartite slogan of this document is the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And while this is for many the most memorable phrase in the document, the actual content focuses much more on the abuses and injuries of King George III than on these inalienable rights. In fact, Jefferson lists twenty seven specific abuses of King George III compared to the three listed inalienable rights. The question then arises, why does Jefferson parse his argument for independence in such a way? This essay seeks to show that Jefferson chose to focus on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By no means was Thomas Jefferson a bigot or racist; he was a product of his era, an era of slavery and social injustice for blacks. While writing about the rights of all men, he would have had to realize that saying all men have a right to liberty contradicted his own ownership of many slaves. Thus, he keeps the discussion of the rights of man short and focuses on the not hypocritical attack on George III. He pays lip service to the idealistic view of equality of men but focuses on the more concrete abuses and injuries of the King to justify independence for America. Jefferson s cursory treatment of the rights of man and lengthier attention to George III s mistreatment is also a product of his audience. Jefferson is not writing to somehow change the mind of Britons or their King. America had been at war with Britain for a year when Jefferson wrote the Declaration, having fought Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill a full year or more before the Declaration would be signed. He wrote more to edify and encourage his compatriots and remind them of the reason for war and inspire them to victory. Within days of its completion and signing, the Declaration was copied by George Dunlap for distribution and had been transmitted to many prominent Americans, including General George Washington. A fragment of the copy Washington had remains in the Library of Congress to this day. Washington ordered the Declaration read to all his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Analysis: The main issues before the Court were two fold. First, could a six year old child apply for asylum without a parent or legal guardian and secondly, did the INS overstep their authority in denying the application for asylum. Statute 8 USC В§ 1158 states that any alien could apply for asylum, however, the INS rejected that a six year old child had the mental capacity to make that decision for himself. The INS interviewed both the Uncle Lazaro Gonzalez and the father Juan Gonzalez and determined that the father was the legal guardian, therefore had the right to speak for Elian Gonzalez. Elian s reasons for seeking asylum were fear of persecution . According to the uncle, if Elian, were returned to Cuba, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
