The Constitution of Nepal establishes 7 commissions to protect minority groups: the National Women Commission, National Dalit Commission, National Inclusion Commission, Indigenous Nationalities Commission, Madhesi Commission, Tharu Commission, and Muslim Commission. Each commission consists of a chairperson and 4 members appointed by the President for 6 year terms. The commissions are tasked with formulating policies, monitoring laws, and making recommendations to protect the rights and interests of women, Dalits, minority ethnic groups, and marginalized communities in Nepal.
