The checklist outlines 6 steps: 1) Choosing a string of math problems with a specific goal, 2) Reminding students to use hand signals and sentence frames, 3) Posing the first problem and getting student responses, 4) Posing the second problem and linking it to the representation, 5) Posing remaining problems one at a time, and 6) Highlighting the big ideas and closing the task by discussing connections among problems.
