an atom.

a large nucleus (uranium &
plutonium etc) splits in to two
smaller nuclei with the release
of energy.
• Fusion is a type of nuclear
reaction in which atomic nuclei
of low atomic mass fuse to
form heavier nucleus with the
release of energy.

• It is the fourth largest
energy source.
• As of 2012 India has 20
nuclear reactor operating
in six nuclear power plant,
producing 4780 MW of
electricity annualy.
