Fear Of The Unknown Has Been A Constant Thread Intricately
Fear of the unknown has been a constant thread intricately interwoven throughout the tapestry of
my life. Although intricate in color and vast in depth, it has furrowed a chasm in my past, present
and dare I say future. As a seminarian on the verge of graduation the prior statement may appear
somewhat odd. Aptly applying a biblical scripture such as Godhas not given us the spirit of fear,
but power, love and a sound mind , should suffice to calm anxiety and trepidation. However, I
have not found this the case. With greater scrutiny, I ponder what are the next steps in my life and
what are my expectations for ministry? For the immediate future, I desire rest to regain a sense of
peace and spiritual renewal. Solace and time alone... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My pastor, who served as my site supervisor was supportive of my interning at church, although
there were occasions where we differed on matters of best methods to fulfill ministerial
obligations. He strongly affirms that nothing comes before God. Unfortunately, this includes all
obligations outside of the church, i.e. family, work, and school. Vacation may be permissible,
but not time off to attend to matters outside of church. On one occasion, my place in the
leadership training course was at stake due to my seeking time away to handle school deadlines
that were steadily approaching. This caused great angst for all parties concerned, which was very
disconcerting for me. The reasoning for taking such a hard stance is primarily due to this course
being the first leadership training class held at the church, taught by the pastor. He wants to see a
return on his investment of time and resources. Although, I do understand the importance of
dedication and commitment, equally vital is the necessity to allow for life s random and intrusive
moments to be allotted for. Feeling overwhelmed is not a matter of choice, but in most instances
an end result of taking on more than you are able to handle at one time. The plenary sessions were
very beneficial in addressing my stress related issues. I have often heard it said, What the mind
cannot contain will impose itself on the body. Consequently, I found this true as my health issues

Low Pressure Systems Research Paper
In early February of 2013, two low pressure systems would start the process of merging to create
one rapidly deepening extratropical cyclonic low pressure system that would bring record snow
totals, hurricane like winds, and dangerous blizzard conditions. It starts on February 6th when a
low pressure system initiates over central United States while the other was developing just off the
Texas coast, with a massive amount of moisture, from a subtropical jet stream that moved into the
Gulf of Mexico. By February 7th, the polar low pressure system was already producing moderate
snow over Ohio Valley and the subtropical low pressure system was causing heavy rain and
thunderstorms along the United States Gulf Coast. Both the Central system, and... Show more

However, Massachusetts got a bulk of this monster blizzard too receiving not only a record setting
amount of snow but also hurricane force winds up to 89 mph. Massachusetts had to do a
mandatory evacuation around some coastal areas because of flooding and wind speeds. The
conditions for this storm to form were prefect as two low pressure systems collided with one
being of subtropical air and the other being from polar air. Total snow accumulation for some
areas ended up being around 16 to 32 and up to 40 inches for Connecticut, 18 to 24 inches for
Boston, Massachusetts, and 8 to 16 inches in New York City. Therefore, damage was just a
matter of how much. The news was expected a big monetary loss as CNN stated, The weekend
snowstorm, a product of two converging weather systems, forced the cancellation of more than
5,000 flights and knocked out power to more than 635,000 customers and The cost of snow
removal, repairing damages, and loss of business can have large economic impacts on cities and
towns, (Fox). The blizzard stopped rail transportation when several states issued a travel ban
while U.S. Postal Service also postponed deliveries. The storm had a fatality rate of 18 people,
with most of the deaths occurring while shoveling snow, some in motor vehicle accidents, one from
carbon monoxide poising, and the rest just from the cold. This storm took place on February 7,
2013 and lasted until February

Minoan Everyday Life Essay
Greece: The Bronze Age Society in Minoan Crete
Everyday Life (1)
By Emily Gold
Entertainment and leisure activities:
Acrobatics was used in most leisure activities that the Minoan people used to keep themselves
entertained, as running and leaping supplied to success in warfare ad hunting.
Bull leaping was the most famed and controversial of all Minoan sports, this sport consists of an
athlete who would sprint head long at a charging bull, grab the bulls horns and jump onto its back,
then the athlete would descend of the animal from its behind. Many scholars argue whether bull
leaping was a true sport in the Minoan Society as some believe it would have been extremely

Honey was and is still the most famous in Crete as it was the only sweetener.
The food in the Minoan Society shows that the people in Minoan Crete relied on their farming and
crops for most of their resources in food. Also that they had a extreme range of foods in their diet,
which shows that this society was quite prosperous.
Evidence of food in the Ancient Greek era were the Large Pithoi from a storage room in Knossos,
these large containers or pots were used to store food.
The Minoans wore artistically designed and competently made clothing, they wore an
assortment of complex clothing, the garments were sewn together much like the way modern
clothes are prepared. The Minoans sewed skirts and blouses that were shaped to the body of the
wearer. Minoan Crete had a hot climate, so layers of clothes were not needed. The men wore
only loincloths, this was small pieces of fabric wrapped around the waist to cover the genitals
which were made from a wide range of materials, such as, leather, wool, linen and decorated with
bright colours and patterns. Many people had long aprons in the front and back with tassels or
fringes and the Minoans also had a decorative pagne or sheath that covered and protected the penis.
Early Minoan men usually did not wear any garment that covered their chest, yet in later years of
the Minoan civilization men frequently wore plain

Advantages Of Tablets In Business
Tablets and Business can be used for Interactive Menus, Hospitals, concierge services and social

Causes And Consequences Of Mosquitoes
Mosquitoes are significant groups of arthropods that inhabit aquatic habitats. They are probably
adverse arthropods, which transmits wide range of pathogens that cause drastic deadly diseases
such as human malaria, dengue, filariasis, viral encephalitis (Leopoldo 2008). Zika virus, another
mosquitoe borne infection was first reported in Brazil by Pan American Health Organization in
2015. After the identification, the Zika virus has spread tremendously all around America. The
illness begins with mild symptoms lasting up to a week after being bitten by vector mosquito.
However, an infection during pregnancy may cause certain neurological anomalies like
microcephaly and several other brain defects (Plourde Bloch 2016).Thus control of mosquitoes
becomes the need of the hour to prevent wide epidemic infections. However, it is difficult to
control and prevent severe consequences created by mosquito species (Aneesh 2009).
Currently a total of 3549 recognized mosquito species belonging to subfamily Culicinae are
reported all over the world (Harbach 2016). Out of this more than hundred species of mosquitoes

Summary Of Enjambment In William Shakespeare s Henry V
This passage, from the Prologue of Shakespeare s Henry V, mainly gives an introduction to the
play by talking about the play itself. The first few lines say that the play would be greater if the
stage were as big as a kingdom and real monarchs were to act the parts of monarchs.
Unfortunately, that isn t the case, so regular citizens have to act out this great play on an
unworthy stage. The stage may not be able to hold the expansive fields of France, but the actors
can make due by using the audience s imagination. The audience has to imagine that in the theater
are two kingdoms divided by an ocean, and also has to imagine that each man on stage is really a
thousand. In lines 1 2, the phrasea Muse of fire is an allusion to Greek mythology, specifically to
the fact that Muses were daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne; the use of this phrase makes it seem
like the play is worthy of the gods. Shakespeare uses enjambment (lines 1 and 2 are one sentence) to
continue the thought from the first line, and also to emphasize the second line. There is interesting
wordchoice here as well; describing the imagination as brightest heaven of invention continues the
theme of making the play seem worthy of the gods. In lines 3 4, there is an example of alliteration
with swelling scene , which makes these words stand out; it is also a form of imagery, as the
reader can almost picture the giant stage. The next sentence encompass a total of 4 lines which are
enjambed together; this creates

Argumentative Essay On 2016 Elections
Every four years one person makes history. This one person we will remember for the rest of our
lives because they are the president of the United States. It all starts with the election. The election
shows us who we will be voting for and what they stand for. I m lucky enough to participate in this
2016 election. I m so excited to partake in a part of history. One thing about this election is that I
have strong different feelings about the two biggest candidates, Hillary and Trump.
Hillary belongs in prison. There are no ifs or buts about it, she committed a crime so she should do
the time. There is a huge list of the crimes Hillary potentially committed; including conspiracy,
bribery, obstruction of justice, fraud by wire, and more. She did a lot of the crimes Martha Stewart
did, but unlike Martha, Hillary didn t got away with it. That is absolutely against what us, United
States, stands for. Just because Hillary is running for president, that means she can commit crimes
and get away with it? What is our world coming to? We have these laws and for what? So
everyone has to follow them but our president or not even president, but candidate? Anyone that is
a criminal should not be loud to run for the United States. Hillary s crimes aren t the only thing I

need to worry about our people before others, we should be pro life and not pro choice, and we

This is all against what Hillary stands for and that is why I will never vote for Hillary Clinton.
But that is not the only reason why, I will also not be voting for her because she is a criminal and
deserves to be behind bars, not protected in our White

Informative Essay On Donald Trump
Naomi Benford Thad Prater U.S. Government 124 December 2017Trump epitomizes Abuse of
Power The day of November 8th 2016 would be a day that changed the United States forever.
This was the day that Donald Trump, a professional and very much so emotional tweeter, was
elected as the 45th President of the United States. Commonly known as a business mogul, he is
also a reality TV star. A mogul is a very influential and powerful person in a business or industry.
A reality tv star is a person who has gained social recognition through their appearance on
television. Reality TV is supposedly an inside look into the un scripted documentary into the life of
someone. Donald John Trump was born in Queens New York on June 14, 1946. Donald Trump
stated that he was strongly influenced by his father in his decision to pursue the career of real
estate development, despite his degree in economics. He graduated from Wharton School of
Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. Donald Trump first became best known when he was
able to take an unprofitable hotel, revamp it, and then make huge profits. The Trump towerbrought
Donald national recognition. Donald Trump is known for his immature tweeting and controversial
decisions as the president of the United States. He is the reason that there are more hateful people
coming out in the US. He makes them believe that they can be more open and aggressive which
is not right. I believe that Donald Trump will be the reason or at least hold a key role in the
creation of World
2War III. There have been many occurrences that have had negative outcomes with Donald
Trump. He is very impulsive, overly dominant, and inconsiderate. There have been many instances
where Donald Trump has been accused of abusing his power. When Donald Trump was first
elected into office, on the same day of the beginning of his presidency period, he signed an
executive order that intended to dismantle the Affordable HealthCare Act, commonly known as
Obamacare. Donald Trump says that by doing this he will lower certain taxes but he was oblivious
to the fact that he was disassembling healthcare for almost 20 million people. He is an elderly
incompetent businessman who has no consideration for the people in the United

The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid is a fairy tale by the Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. The tale
is about a young mermaid willing to give up her life in the sea and her identity as a merperson to
gain a human soul and the love of a human prince. The tale was first published in 1837 and has

But to gain legs, she must give up her most precious asset, her beautiful voice. There are some
standard elements of teenage life here, including young love, and some degree of rebellion from
ones parents, in this case King Triton, Ariel s father. It was not Ariel s physical beauty that the
Prince loved, but her voice. He is enraptured by the voice even in the presence of Ariel s physical
beauty and great legs. The metaphor here should be obvious. What does a woman lose when she
becomes subservient to a man, or male dominated culture in general? She loses her voice. The
point of the movie is that a young woman s beauty should come not from her physical attributes,
but from her voice, her personality, her self. Metaphorically, without her voice in society, she is
pretty helpless and powerless to change what s going on around her, explain herself, etc. As for the
prince he isn t interested in Ariel just for her looks. It is also important to note that she gets her
reward only after working together with her father, King Triton.
In the original version The Little Mermaid, longing for the prince and an eternal soul, eventually
visits the Sea Witch, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her tongue. The Sea
Witch cuts her tongue and warns her that once she becomes a human, she will never be able to
return to the sea. Drinking the potion made out of snakes and

Call Centres, An Integral Part Of Any Organization
Call centres are an integral part of any organization in today s modern business as they play a
crucial role in the business world and act as the primary source of contact with the customers
(Abbott, 2010). The performance of such call centres is increasingly getting important in ensuring
an organization offers superior service to end users, and allow end users and customers to
communicate through any channel, and minimize the costs of doing business (Bruton, 2012; Tom,
2012). As the environment changes every day, customers are becoming more demanding and
sophisticated in terms of needs and desires, and their quality level of services and products they
desire get high.at the same time, the market is dynamic and keeps adapting to the changing needs
or the new needs are developed by influencing the market (James, 1998; Tom, 2012). Therefore,
every organisation aims at keeping the resources (both human and technical) as high as possible
while maintaining the service quality of the customers and ensuring employee satisfaction.
A balanced approach is required in ensuring a careful balance is maintained between various
interests that compete, such as high quality service, low operating costs and keeping employees
satisfied. In achieving the objectives of an efficient call centre, Rustic Americana will need to adapt
appropriate operational practice and best technical management approaches in ensuring that it
handles the current challenges. Appropriate strategy and supporting

The Role Of Specific Subjects On Education Production...
Kalena E. Cortes, Jesse Bricker, and Chris Rohlfs exploited the fact that absences are 4 7 days
higher per year in first period classes in Chicago Public school in their paper The Role of
Specific Subjects in Education Production Functions: Evidence from Morning Classes in
Chicago Public High Schools . They found that having a class in first period significantly
reduces grades in that course, but does not affect grades in related subjects (Cortez Year). this
effect is especially apparent in math classes, and also reduces grades in future math classes
(Cortez year). Implications The literature presented is in almost unanimous agreement that later
daily school start times lead to improved academic achievement in adolescents, with the greatest
improvement as start times move from around 7:00 am to after 8:00 am, with diminishing
marginal improvements afterwards. Students assigned to a first period class at the USAFA
earned worse grades in both their first period classes and classes throughout the day than their
peers who were not assigned to a first period class(Carrell 79). This negative effect was most
apparent when the first period starting time was 7:00 am, but was still present after a policy
changed the starting time of the first period to 7:50 am. Likewise, middle school students in the
Wake County Public School System who began their day between 8:00 8:45 am had 2% higher
scores on both standardized mathematics and reading exams than students whose

George Orwell s Coming Up for Air Essay
George Orwell s Coming Up for Air
George Orwell s novel, Coming Up for Air, portrays England at two different times. The story is
based around George Bowling in 1939 and his life in the suburbs of London on Ellesmere Road,
where all the houses are the same. He is very cynical of the world around him and dreams of his
times as a child in Lower Binfield when things were not perfect, but not yet ruined by the Great
War. The vision of 1900 England versus England in 1939 creates a sharpcontrast in life for George
Bowling. In 1939 England is on the verge of another war, and life is impersonal, harsh, and
industrial. The reality of 1939 is only accentuated by George s trip to his childhood home of Lower
Binfield, where nothing is the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In his excitement about fishing he buys a new rod and all the necessary equipment to go fishing

goes to is the Thames River where he is met with a surprise. When he arrives at the river he sees,
The place was black with people. And where the water meadows used to be tea houses, penny in
the slot machines, sweet kiosks and chaps selling Wall s Ice Cream. Might as well have been at
Margate. The stream where he had found solitude as a child was completely overrun with
people. He could not fish in a place with the kind of commotion that would scare all the fish
away. The river itself had also changed. The clear water he saw as a kid had become murky and
brown. As a child he could fish all day by the river and not see another person. England had
changed since he was a child. Crowds of people and a polluted river ruined his nostalgic view of
fishing. England had grown and with the growth of the town came the destruction of nature.
Discouraged but not completely done with the idea of fishing he decided to go to find his other
sacred fishing spot. This spot had suffered an even worse fate. The spot was located near the

Analysis Of The Dead By Charlie Higson
This summer, I read the book The Dead by Charlie Higson is a novel about a large group of kids,
left to live by themselves without guidance from their parents. In this run down setting of
London, England, people who are over the age of 16 turn into kid hunting, flesh eating zombies.
The younger kids are forced to live on their own, fighting for life against the wrath of the Adults.
The message Higson showed in his book is: after people are forced to rely on themselves without
experience, their lack of experience and knowledge will lead them to failure.
In the novel, the kids face constant fear and by telling the story from a 3rd person omniscient
point of view, Higson can really show how they are forced to only appeal their need for survival.
The adults are a mysterious entity to the kids. Since they are doing things only to live, their
actions are limited. We think there s something in us that adults need to eat in order to stay alive,
(375). They move in groups to keep support between the kids, and by doing this, their fear of
adults is slightly eased.
Connecting the fact that the kids are living in fear to that London is big, the kids are constantly
moving. The possibilities of adults attacking the kids at any point are endless. And when it had
gotten really bad, when those adults who d gotten sick but hadn t died had started to turn on the
kids, attacking them like wild animals, (8). These kids start to constantly move because of their
fear. This causes

Do Violent Video Games Have An Impact On A Person s...
Introduction People play video games mainly for entertainment. It s just like a hobby such as
bike riding, fishing, and swimming or playing sports. Video games are also a form of art
through which you can experience a story interactively and can also challenge you mentally
through using problem solving skills to work through difficult scenarios. Some video games are
even designed to be a fictional representation of life, allowing the player to experience or do
things they would never be able to do in real life. In a society where we are responsible for our
own actions, individuals may wonder whether these video games can have an influence on our
actions. One of the main reasons that attract people to certain games is the inclusion of violence.
People become immersed in a world where they are able to take risks and be able to break laws

impact social media has on marketers. The method was to study several articles related to the topic

In order to provide information, an efficient social media requires in building a platform for the
target markets in order to communicate with the audience and maintaining those relationships. The
author pointed it out that the main reason why social media marketing is so preferred over
traditional marketing is the fact that one is able to notice or observe the effects of communication
/good brand strategy ( by looking at the analytics) whereas in traditional marketing tactics are
generally not assessable. (Michaelidou, Siamagka Christodoulides, 2011) A study has shown that
majority of the users (93%) believes that most brands should have a social media presence while
among them few believe that (83%) companies should always interact with consumers through
social networking sites. Infact nowadays it is not something unusual to see business getting
launched through Facebook / Twitter / Youtube channels and this effort is made by companies to
save relevance among various competitors and reinforce bonds with customers (Mitic Kapoulas,
2012). To add to this some papers have been analyzed in order to get a clear understanding of the

Sir Isaac Newton Cause And Effect
Cause and Effect: Sir Isaac Newton
We build too many walls and not enough bridges. Greetings, I m Sir Isaac Newton, the famed
scientific discoverer of gravity. My childhood was anything but stable. Three months after my father
died in 1642, I was born a small, premature infant on January 4th, 1643 in Lincolnshire. My mother
remarried when I was 3 and left me with my grandmother. I hated my stepfather, and despised my
mother for marrying him, even threatening to burn their house down. In school, I found my solace
in books, particularly in science and mechanics. In my first year of college at Cambridge
University, my mother returned and tried to make me a farmer, but farming was boring and
derivative, so my uncle brought me back to school and I studied color, light, alchemy, history, and
religion, particularly the Bible. After the plague, I was forced to return home, where I ... Show more

poles and bulge at the equator. It completely changed scientists and people s views of the
universe. Robert accused me of plagiarism, but his claims were invalid. I suffered a mental

and saved England s money crisis. It was around that time I suffered another mental breakdown
but recovered quickly. I lived with my niece for my final years. It was around that time where I

Information Flowing Through The Bla-To-Pl Projection May
Information flowing through the BLA to PL projection may be the dominant route for reward
behavior. PL is important for the enhancement in reward seeking behavior when the deprived

is also important for discriminative reward seeking(Sangha et al., 2014). The BLA PL projectionis

During learning, many physiological changes can be found to correlate with behaviors. However
neural correlates that are not part of the dominant circuit may play a modulatory role in affecting
learning rate, or it can have no effect on behavior as they may simply be passive relays from other
structures. Critical structures and their projections are major contributors as the absence of any one
of them will abolish behavior. Dysregulations that abolish behavioral performance must be either

Two Kinds of Interpretations in Amy Tanв
Ђ™s Short Story Two...
Often times mothers can be pushy, annoying, and a bit overbearing but in the long run they always
just want what is best for their child. Everyone wants their child to be the best, most popular and
overall number one. In Amy Tan s short story Two Kinds we see this type of fame hungry mother.
The short story is about a Chinese familywho lost everything. The motherhad lost her entire family
full of children except for the one in the story. With the belief you could be anything you want in
America (Tan 305) in mind the mother set off to find what her child can do. This ultimately will
resort in disappointment for both the mother and child, as they do not share the same goals
throughout the short story. My initial personal interpretation of this piece is that the mother wants
to live vicariously through her daughter. This was proven throughout the story time and time again.
Through further thought, different literary techniques, and class discussion I became aware of an
alternate interpretation of the story. This is that their are two kinds of daughters and the way the
mother daughter relationship could be. Both interpretations have many examples to support them
and the story can truly be analyzed in more then one way. The mother in the story is sensibly upset
about what has happened in the past in China. After losing everything she wanted the best for her
daughter, but could this possibly mean she wanted it for herself as well. It seems the mother might

population density of major insect pest as influenced by spatial arrangement in pechay
by
ABSTRACT
Spatial arrangement in pechay production could be used as an strategic pest management. Three
different spacing were used to determine the effects of spatial arrangement in the population
density of pechay. The spacing were 2.5 x 5 in, 3.5 x 5 in and 5 x 5 in per plant. Collections of insect
pests were done starting five days after transplanting and continued every three days until harvest.
Damage rating and yield were also measured. The spacing of 5 x 5 in per plant significantly
affected the lowest incidence of insect pest, leaf damage and with highest yield. The 5 x 5 in

On a per larva basis, the diamondback moth causes less damage than the other two species,
however, populations can be high enough to cause severe damage.
Crop damage is caused by larval feeding. First instars mine leaf tissue, thereafter feeding occurs
on the undersurface of the leaf, resulting in a windowpane from the remnants of the top leaf

Rainfall is a useful mortality factor. Rainfall, and sprinkler irrigation, kills young larvae. Drip or
furrow irrigated crops tend to have higher populations.
Row covers, when placed on the crop prior to immigration of any life stage, are an effective control.

What Is The Mood Of The Nutcracker By Tchaikovsky
Many artists created and performed music during the period of Romanticism in Europe. Artists
during this period masterfully combined multiple musical components to create memorable pieces
that they delivered to the public through performances. The artists combined musical components
such as form, texture, tempo, melodic range, articulation, dynamic(s), and timbre to create an
enjoyable musical experience. By utilizing all of the different musical components, composers
created timeless pieces that attracted large crowds of commoners as well as noble and royal
families. Tchaikovsky was a musical composer that stood out from the rest of the musical

He was actually commissioned by a choreographer named Marius Petipa. According to Betsy
Schwarm in an article called The Nutcracker from the Encyclopædia Britannica, the Nutcracker
was inspired by and based off of a story called The Nutcracker and Mouse King , by E.T.A.
Hoffman. When Tchaikovsky started to compose the Nutcracker, he did so without much vigor.
Tchaikovsky believed that the Nutcracker was not a very good piece and he frequently compared
the quality with his earlier ballet called Sleeping Beauty. The Nutcracker was finished in the year
1892 and parts of the ballet were performed in December of the same year. The ballet turned out to
be a failure the first time it was performed. Many of the viewers did not like the idea of the ballet
and thought that the costumes were tasteless and plain. Though the viewers did not enjoy the
ballet, Tchaikovsky reported that they enjoyed the orchestral part of the ballet. Perhaps why the
viewers enjoyed the orchestral part of the ballet more than the choreographed part is because of the
musical components that Tchaikovsky combined to make the musicenjoyable for the listeners. The
Nutcracker is a ballet composed of two acts. The first act is called the Stahlbaum home and the
second at is called the Land of Sweets, each act with their own set of special ballet characters that
are supposed to preform. The acts also have their own synopsis as well as their own scripts.
Throughout the whole ballet the composer notably made use of tempo, texture, consonance,

Fifty Shades Of Grey Summary
The thesis of the paper is ISIS/ISIL romancing of vulnerable Western women and luring them
into their caliphate through new technology (e.g., social media). The majority of the women
being recruited are those who share the ideology that Muslim s are being systematically
oppressed. Then there is the fascination of an Arabian Knights tale of being married to a jihadi
warrior; add to this, this fantasy of a worldly romance, being a devout wife and mother is
appealing to idealistic young girls who thirst for adventure. Those who are pariahs in Western
society find this change appealing; thus, the idea of creating and living in a new society, a
utopia, is a dream come true for many of these young women/girls. However, as with most
organizations, there is a dark side, even darker than Fifty Shades of Grey. These women and
young girls eventually come to realize that they are no more than sex and reproductive slaves. The
brutal reality of this existence has left a trail of broken hearts among the relatives of these young

Drag Queens Perform Gender
This project is focused on drag queens and the extent to which they perform gender. Many scholars
have looked at the performance of gender within the context of the gender binary. Many scholars,
feel that drag breaks down this binary whereas others feel that the binary and heteronormativity are
perpetuated by and instilled within drag. Regardless of the debate, it goes without question that
drag queens perform genderon stage.
The topic of drag queens performing gender is sociologically important for a variety of reasons.
One of the simplest is that there is not much literature or research on this topic and in a time where
transgender matters are a red button issue in the United States; I think it is important to highlight

Tauches states that gender is a socially constructed term and our behavior is supposed to be
contingent on our gender identity. The gender binary, being either female or male, allows people to
easily determine the sex of someone else. Butler feels that drag disrupts this binary and
heteronormativity. By performing a gender that may not match the anatomy underneath the
costume, a queen makes it hard to distinguish gender and blurs the lines of the binary. Tauches also
states that gender is based on what is considered legitimate or correct for a certain sex. This notion
is prevalent throughout the works of Bishop, Mann and Horowitz. Each work shows, to a certain
extent, how heteronormativity dictates not only how drag queens perform gender, but how they are
perceived. In Bishop s work, drag queens are viewed as less than in some cases because they do not
perform the correct masculine standard. In Mann s work, Suzanne performs gender by using
stereotypical feminine Southern language that is considered polite or correct for the regional
location. In Horowitz s work, queens emulate the hegemonic feminine standard while performing.
Contingent upon the work of Bishop, Mann and Horowitz, Tauches might state that drag queens
perform the socially constructed ideal of gender and the behavioral characteristics that accompany

Any type of business meeting can take place while eating, depending on the time of day. Business
breakfast is common in Mexico and usually run between the hours of 8 11 am. Most of the time
business breakfasts are conducted in good restaurants. Usually these business breakfasts will last no
more than two hours. (Mexperience, 2006)
Lunches start around 2:00 pm and lasting until 4:00. In Mexico, lunch is the main meal for the day
and not to be used as a detailed power lunch. (Mexperience, 2006) During this time, business ideals
and concepts are discussed but the specifics are not. At other times, lunch will be used to finalize
agreements from previous meetings.
Dinner in Mexico is a late night affair starting around 9:00 pm. There could be times where
circumstances will dictate that business needs be done at dinner. Majority of the time though,
dinner is reserved for the family, which is very important to the people of Mexico. Should one be
invited to dinner, business should not be discussed unless the host wishes to discuss.

Initial observations of the client The Playgroup room was created in order to address all areas in
which a child develops, so the physical climate is stimulating for children to find interests in toys
that they have been exposed to. The setup of the room caters to the child s reading, imaginative
play, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, skill building, and sensory. This weekly group of
children is generally small; they require a lot of attention since some children are so young and
have not begun to walk, multiple children who are very active, a few of the children have a harder
time with being away from their parents, and all of the children uses English as their second
language. Focusing on one mother and her one and a half year old daughter, the initial observation
of the two is their close attachment to one another. The mother and child are not separated often
which creates some anxiety in the child when the mother chooses to leave.
Content of the session On this particular day, the child had experienced a very rough time seeing
her mother leave. The mother washed her child s hands and guided her to a toy which challenges

How did pop art challenge beleifs in consumerism Introduction:
In order to discuss pop art I have chosen to examine the work and to some extent lives of Roy

intend to reflect the attitudes of the public and artists in America at this time, while examining the
growing popularity of pop art from its rocky, abstract expressionist start in the 1950s through the
height of consumer culture in the 60s and 70s to the present day.

Warhol shot to fame and soon became highly respected as a commercial artist. Tina Fredrick,
then art director of Glamour says She was thrilled by Andy s drawings but could not find a

Blade Runner Human Quotes
What makes something or someone human can often be unclear. Humans have many preconceived
notions about who and what they are and what their rightful place in society is. These notions,
however, are frequently at odds with reality. The uncertainty of what makes someone human is
explored in Ridley Scott s classic sciencefiction film Blade Runner. Dr. Eldon Tyrell s Tyrell
Corporation created the replicants to be sub humanservants that were clearly distinct from and
inferior to human beings; the replicants were intentionally designed to be unable to express
emotions, particularly empathy, which is believed to be a trait that only human beings can possess.
Human beings believe that the quintessential thing that makes them human and distinguishes...

Once Deckard becomes a blade runner again, he shows no respect for the replicants, brutally
murdering every one he can find. Deckard does not display human feelings; in fact, he appears
to be the epitome of inhumanity. Deckard does not demonstrate any feelings at all, particularly
empathy. When examined closely, this is Scott s way of suggesting the possibility that Deckard
may, in fact, be a replicant as his actions and character development closely resemble that of a
replicant. It is possible that Deckard could be murdering his own people , and he might not even
know it. Over time, Deckard eventually begins to demonstrate feelings towards others,
especially Rachel. His feelings for Rachel are evident when he asks her, Do you love me...and
do you trust me (Scott). After Rachel replies that she does, Deckard demonstrates his love for
Rachel by giving her an emotional kiss on the lips. As Deckard falls in love with Rachel, a moral
issue emerges. That is, he still continues to hunt someone whom he loves. Morality and ethics
have been completely disregarded. As time goes by, though, Deckard appears to become more
sophisticated and develops a sense of morality. He chooses not to kill Rachel, and instead runs
away with her (Scott). Deckard s actions coincide with the actions of the replicants. When the
replicants were first created, they did not display emotions, but over time, the replicants became
more complex and began to develop human like qualities. Similarly, Deckard has done the same
thing in his lifetime and it leads back to the possibility of him being a replicant. The boundary
between humans and the replicants is rapidly becoming unclear. This creates a feeling of
uncertainty, which is frightening as it leads to the thought that humans cannot be sure about what
makes them human and consequently they cannot be sure if they are in fact human. This threatens
the perception that the real

The author talks about college cost, and the effect it has on students and on how times it takes
longer to graduate. This is an important topic because college cost has been a problem for many
individuals for decades and it still is. College cost is something that shapes people s lives and it
worries them because collegecost is what determines if they re going to continue going to college.
It s something that people should take lightly because college is pretty expensive. According to the
advocacy group complete college America, it cost 63,718 for one extra year to attend college. For
students who take longer to finish schoolbecause of certain requisites, it becomes a toll because of
the cost. According to Norton Field Guide to writing by Richard Bullock and Maureen Daly
Goggin found a report on Los Angeles bases campaigns for college opportunity, saying students
who attend school 6 years instead of 4 years will lose 110,900 dollars in their lifetime. Many
people in the work field and colleges expect students to attend school for four years. According to
the NFGW, nearly nine out of 10 freshmen think they will earn their bachelor degree within the
traditional four years. Yet In the NFGW quotes the U.S Department of Educationand they report that
about 45 percent won t have finished.
I have encountered many people who have mentioned that college is very expensive and that it has
been a big factor on whether they would continue their education. People can take a break

Missa Suder History 144 Professor O Hara 7/12/15 One of the biggest and most well known wars
in American history is the Civil War. The Civil War determined what type of nation the United

equal right to freedom. Right after the Civil war the Reconstruction era began. The Republicans
argued with each other over who controlled what during the Reconstruction. During this period the
South whites started to resist any knew changes that were trying to be made. The Republicans had a

Introduction
This essay will describe the action of the immune system and discuss the development of
autoimmune diseases with a specific focus on Myasthenia Gravis (MG). It will first consider the
role of the immune system and its importance. It will then describe what autoimmunity is, and its
development. The third part focuses on MG, the physiology behind the disease and compares it to

The Effects Of Global Warming On The Earth s Atmosphere...
Global warming occurs due to an increase in the average temperature of the earth s atmosphere.
Various reasons as discussed in task 3 lead to the rise in temperature around the earth. The reasons
include deforestation, burning fossil fuels, increase in human population and increase in the
amount of carbon dioxideand other greenhouse gasses such as methane, chlorofluorocarbons,
nitrous oxide and water vapor in the atmosphere. (Dai, 2013) Greenhouse gasses are produced
when fossil fuels or wood is burned. In other cases, when plants rot, carbon and methane are
released into the atmosphere. Global warming can be controlled through the following ways:
preservation of forests, minimal use of fossil fuels in energy production, efficient use of energy
and use of low carbon or zero carbon technology.
Conservation of forests: Forests can be preserved through prevention of deforestation and through
planting more trees. The importance of forests in controlling global warming applies where the
trees use up carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and therefore reduce the carbon dioxide
concentration in the atmosphere. Carbon, which is a component of carbon dioxide, is stored in the
trees and is necessary for tree growth. Therefore, preservation of trees ensures minimal circulation
of carbon and its products in the atmosphere. (Spies A.S. Mori, 2013) Deforestation has currently
become a daily activity and the number of trees affected is massive. Deforestation can be

Chinese Immigrants In The Chinese Must Go
In The Chinese Must Go the cartoonist depicts the Chinese as running with a money bag to China
which symbolizes the American belief that Chinese laundrymen were exploiting the American
economy. The Chinese man is running from San Francisco to China with a bag of money in his
hand, which was likely earned from working in the laundry business, this can be inferred from the
cleaning tool in his arm and the stereotype of Chinese immigrants being laundrymen. This depiction
makes sense given the historical period, because the Chinese primarily labored in lower paying
industries and firms... such as domestic and laundry work. (Almaguer 171) The Chinese immigrants
were subject to lower paying professions because the whites saw the Chinese presence

The Dissimilarity Between Working Mother And Stay Home Mother
Sang Min Yue
Professor Dr. Rosalyn Jacobs
ENGL 1102
24, April 2016
The Dissimilarity between Working Mother and stay home Mother During the early years of the
1900 s most women were not allowed to work, they also did not have any rights to vote. All the
women during these times could only stay inside the house and take care of the familial duties
and chores. Women were primarily cooking meals, cleaning inside the house, and also taking care
of their own child. On the other hand, most of the men were kings in the household who were in
charge as they are the main source of income for making money. Most of the kids growing up
during this time period ensured to consume a strong family background because the marriage was
everlasting one. Back in the day, the maximum of divorce rates was very low compared to a
present day, as of now, but how is that the divorce rates are high in the present today? That is
because of the authorization in the 19th Amendment which were giving women right to vote, as
they became more self governing (Harris). Women did not just want to cook, and clean working
as a house wife at home any longer, but however women desired to have a job outside just like
their husband earning all the money and have a nice working life. They wanted to challenge
themselves as they wish to follow their husbands footsteps, to prove that women can also do just
like how the men does. Even though how women began to work and women equal rights movement

A Brief Note On Parking At Grand Valley
The $260 Difference: Parking at Grand Valley As I was growing up I remember how excited I
was for my sixteenth birthday. I would finally receive my license and I would be able to drive
the gold Pontiac G6 that sat in my driveway for three months prior to my birthday. I was looking
forward to driving myself to school. At that time I was unaware that my high school required a
parking permit in order to have a car parked in their lot. Parking permits were $100 for the year,
which seemed outrageous since there were more than enough spots for every student and the
parking lot was recently repaved. As I grew even older and decided to come to college, I realized
that parking on campus was going to be $360 for a full year. Luckily, I had enough... Show more

In all of those expenses, parking is not included and is just another added fee. On top of that a
few schools in Michigan charge under $180/semester. For example, Northern Michigan
University chargers $140/semester, Aquinas College charges $150 a semester, Ferris State
charges $170/year and Michigan State charges $290/year. As a college student, I don t
understand why Grand Valley s price for parking permits is so much higher than other schools.
It seems like every other year the price increases. Grand Valley increased their parking permits to
$180 per semester in May of 2014, according to Lisa Garringer. While some students understand
the need for the extra cost for parking, there are some students who do not realize the importance
of that cost. One of the reasons that GVDP has this fee for parking is due to the limited number
of parking spots. In fact, there are only 11,400 parking spots between the Allendale and Pew
campuses (Garringer). With 25,094 students enrolled that is only enough parking for 45% of
students. Although not all students have cars at school, that reason alone is not enough for parking
permits to be at such a high price. Some of the students who purchased a parking permit aren t
aware of what that money is funding and don t understand why the price is so high. Some students
are misled about where the money from the parking permits is actually

Death In Car Wrecks
As of 2015, 1.5 million people died in car wrecks. 50% of that number was from texting and
driving, and 25% was from being intoxicated, and more of the wrecks coming from the ages 15
to 44, the young age. If you think of it, 1.5 million is very large number, especially if you re
talking about people, just thinking about a million and a half people dying from not paying
attention of the road, people drinking too much at a bar, and people being easily distracted by
their smartphones, this is how people need to make a stop to the total amount of deaths due to car
accidents. The first car came out in 1886, but in 1920, the Ford brothers came out with a common
car, called the Model T. During the year of 1973, the first portable phone was released.

Bob Dylan s Poem A Hard Rain s A Gon Na Fall
Songs can be considered the melody of life because artists use songs to express their thoughts and
capture the moment in time. For over 50 years, American rock and roll artist, Bob Dylan influences
his generation through the use of his protest songs (Rollingstone). Dylan s personalized and allusive
songs revolutionized the music industry by allowing music to be an analytical literature in which
people can debate about. Although Bob Dylanwrote A Hard Rain s A Gonna Fall in the summer of
1962, Dylan s songconveys the predicaments of the society in the past and the present (Wikipedia).
Issues related to faith, violence, exploitation and injustice of human are portrayed through the

Hard rain can be interpreted as the nuclear atomic rain that is harmful to both the humans and the
environment or it can be the storm of rain. This line that is repeated throughout demonstrates how
humans cannot control the rain. In addition, hyperboles such as roar of a wave that could drown
the whole world (Dylan) shows how water are crucial to the human s survival, but also a danger to
the human s survival because this wave can refer to the deadly tsunami. The personification of the
seven sad forests (Dylan) on seven continents also allows the listeners to sympathize with the singer
and understand the effects of human activities that are destroying the nature. Furthermore, Dylan
uses natural elements such as thunder that is the warning to rain as a warning to the unfortunate
and miserable future of the world that will be filled with death and violence (Genius). Dylan s
incorporation of god and nature with death also relates to the later part of his life where he
experienced his idol, Woody Guthrie, and himself in near death situations. (Rollingstone) Violence
is another issue that is still going on today and is mentioned in A Hard Rain s A Gonna Fall. Dylan
wrote the song during the Vietnam war and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Thus, this song can be
interpreted as a response to the Vietnam war and the Cuban Missile Crisis or about war in general.

Section 59 of the Crimes Act and a Parent s Right to...
The change to Section 59 of the Crimes Act compromises a parent s right to discipline their child.
Parents are in a position of authority in which they are responsible for shaping their children into
respectful, law abiding citizens, and often a light smack to the hand or bottom is an effective way
of teaching the right attitude and behaviour. If a child displays behaviour that goes against what
their parents are teaching them, a light smack is often necessary in letting the child know what they
are doing is wrong.
Changing the Crimes Act will not stop serious physical abuse from happening to children. Research
carried out in Christchurch has suggested that serious offences of child abuse occur as a result of
parental personal and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Michele Wilkinson Smith (2007), a criminal lawyer who has argued on both sides of Section 59
in court deems the repeal unnecessary. In her own experience she has never seen a case where a
child has been seriously abused go excused because of the reasonable force defence and it is
likely that no New Zealand jury would find such serious abuse to be perfectly reasonable. It is
unrealistic to assume a person who has seriously harmed a child will go unpunished, however
parents who lightly smack will face serious consequences. Joanne Black (2007) agrees, saying the
only effect of this change is that a parent who smacks a child in order to improve his or her
behaviour breaks the law (p. 58). Light smacking to improve a child s behaviour is at the discretion
of the parent, who is aiming to better their child, not seriously harm them.
Naturally, the change to Section 59 does have a positive side, providing a step toward New
Zealand becoming a less violent society. Removing the reasonable force defence gives parents the
opportunity to think twice about the practices they use in correcting their child s behaviour, opting
to not use a physical method. Children of this abuse are also less likely to go out and commit
violent crimes as a result of the way they were brought up. In the long run, this change could alter
the way parents treat their children, and therefore, cutting back on crime (Else, 2007). However, this

The Struggle Between Economics And Ecology
Right from the end of the 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century, there has been a
fierce debate concerning how economic growth or development affects the environment or
ecological setup of a country. The debate has its basis on whether it would be recommendable for
a nation to concentrate on growing its economy while at the same time hurting or harming its
ecological system. Naturalists like Pinchot Gifford, John Muir, Love Canal and Cuyahoga County
always argued in favor of environmental preservation as opposed to concentrating all efforts
towards developing the economy (Olmes 154; Miller 150 51). This paper will, therefore, discuss
the struggle between economicsand ecology specifically looking at particular events across the
Twentieth Century. It will also attempt to explain the factors involved in the pursuit for change on
the way people and the administration perceived the environmental conservation as opposed to
economic growth.
The Twentieth Century conservationists like John Muir and Gifford Pinchotalways argued that it
was important for the government of the day to strike a balance between the two conflicting goals
of economic development and environmental conservation. According to Menzel (2007; 3 4), other
environmental movements in the USA had been in constant conflict with industrial enterprises. The
major root cause of conflict being the fact that industrial enterprises had ignored the fact their
activities were hurting the environment through

to see how it will affect their political and economic relationships with one another. Will the areas
become democratic nations or will they become shell states where terrorism runs rampant?

  • 2. Fear Of The Unknown Has Been A Constant Thread Intricately Fear of the unknown has been a constant thread intricately interwoven throughout the tapestry of my life. Although intricate in color and vast in depth, it has furrowed a chasm in my past, present and dare I say future. As a seminarian on the verge of graduation the prior statement may appear somewhat odd. Aptly applying a biblical scripture such as Godhas not given us the spirit of fear, but power, love and a sound mind , should suffice to calm anxiety and trepidation. However, I have not found this the case. With greater scrutiny, I ponder what are the next steps in my life and what are my expectations for ministry? For the immediate future, I desire rest to regain a sense of peace and spiritual renewal. Solace and time alone... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My pastor, who served as my site supervisor was supportive of my interning at church, although there were occasions where we differed on matters of best methods to fulfill ministerial obligations. He strongly affirms that nothing comes before God. Unfortunately, this includes all obligations outside of the church, i.e. family, work, and school. Vacation may be permissible, but not time off to attend to matters outside of church. On one occasion, my place in the leadership training course was at stake due to my seeking time away to handle school deadlines that were steadily approaching. This caused great angst for all parties concerned, which was very disconcerting for me. The reasoning for taking such a hard stance is primarily due to this course being the first leadership training class held at the church, taught by the pastor. He wants to see a return on his investment of time and resources. Although, I do understand the importance of dedication and commitment, equally vital is the necessity to allow for life s random and intrusive moments to be allotted for. Feeling overwhelmed is not a matter of choice, but in most instances an end result of taking on more than you are able to handle at one time. The plenary sessions were very beneficial in addressing my stress related issues. I have often heard it said, What the mind cannot contain will impose itself on the body. Consequently, I found this true as my health issues took a turn for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Low Pressure Systems Research Paper In early February of 2013, two low pressure systems would start the process of merging to create one rapidly deepening extratropical cyclonic low pressure system that would bring record snow totals, hurricane like winds, and dangerous blizzard conditions. It starts on February 6th when a low pressure system initiates over central United States while the other was developing just off the Texas coast, with a massive amount of moisture, from a subtropical jet stream that moved into the Gulf of Mexico. By February 7th, the polar low pressure system was already producing moderate snow over Ohio Valley and the subtropical low pressure system was causing heavy rain and thunderstorms along the United States Gulf Coast. Both the Central system, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, Massachusetts got a bulk of this monster blizzard too receiving not only a record setting amount of snow but also hurricane force winds up to 89 mph. Massachusetts had to do a mandatory evacuation around some coastal areas because of flooding and wind speeds. The conditions for this storm to form were prefect as two low pressure systems collided with one being of subtropical air and the other being from polar air. Total snow accumulation for some areas ended up being around 16 to 32 and up to 40 inches for Connecticut, 18 to 24 inches for Boston, Massachusetts, and 8 to 16 inches in New York City. Therefore, damage was just a matter of how much. The news was expected a big monetary loss as CNN stated, The weekend snowstorm, a product of two converging weather systems, forced the cancellation of more than 5,000 flights and knocked out power to more than 635,000 customers and The cost of snow removal, repairing damages, and loss of business can have large economic impacts on cities and towns, (Fox). The blizzard stopped rail transportation when several states issued a travel ban while U.S. Postal Service also postponed deliveries. The storm had a fatality rate of 18 people, with most of the deaths occurring while shoveling snow, some in motor vehicle accidents, one from carbon monoxide poising, and the rest just from the cold. Minoan Everyday Life Essay Greece: The Bronze Age Society in Minoan Crete Everyday Life (1) By Emily Gold Entertainment and leisure activities: Acrobatics was used in most leisure activities that the Minoan people used to keep themselves entertained, as running and leaping supplied to success in warfare ad hunting. Bull leaping was the most famed and controversial of all Minoan sports, this sport consists of an athlete who would sprint head long at a charging bull, grab the bulls horns and jump onto its back, then the athlete would descend of the animal from its behind. The food in the Minoan Society shows that the people in Minoan Crete relied on their farming and crops for most of their resources in food. Evidence of food in the Ancient Greek era were the Large Pithoi from a storage room in Knossos, these large containers or pots were used to store food. The Minoans wore artistically designed and competently made clothing, they wore an assortment of complex clothing, the garments were sewn together much like the way modern clothes are prepared. The Minoans sewed skirts and blouses that were shaped to the body of the wearer. Minoan Crete had a hot climate, so layers of clothes were not needed. The men wore only loincloths, this was small pieces of fabric wrapped around the waist to cover the genitals which were made from a wide range of materials, such as, leather, wool, linen and decorated with bright colours and patterns. Many people had long aprons in the front and back with tassels or fringes and the Minoans also had a decorative pagne or sheath that covered and protected the penis. They are probably adverse arthropods, which transmits wide range of pathogens that cause drastic deadly diseases such as human malaria, dengue, filariasis, viral encephalitis (Leopoldo 2008). Zika virus, another mosquitoe borne infection was first reported in Brazil by Pan American Health Organization in 2015. After the identification, the Zika virus has spread tremendously all around America. The illness begins with mild symptoms lasting up to a week after being bitten by vector mosquito. However, an infection during pregnancy may cause certain neurological anomalies like microcephaly and several other brain defects (Plourde Bloch 2016).Thus control of mosquitoes becomes the need of the hour to prevent wide epidemic infections. • 7. Summary Of Enjambment In William Shakespeare s Henry V This passage, from the Prologue of Shakespeare s Henry V, mainly gives an introduction to the play by talking about the play itself. The first few lines say that the play would be greater if the stage were as big as a kingdom and real monarchs were to act the parts of monarchs. Unfortunately, that isn t the case, so regular citizens have to act out this great play on an unworthy stage. The stage may not be able to hold the expansive fields of France, but the actors can make due by using the audience s imagination. The audience has to imagine that in the theater are two kingdoms divided by an ocean, and also has to imagine that each man on stage is really a thousand. In lines 1 2, the phrasea Muse of fire is an allusion to Greek mythology, specifically to the fact that Muses were daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne; the use of this phrase makes it seem like the play is worthy of the gods. Shakespeare uses enjambment (lines 1 and 2 are one sentence) to continue the thought from the first line, and also to emphasize the second line. There is interesting wordchoice here as well; describing the imagination as brightest heaven of invention continues the theme of making the play seem worthy of the gods. In lines 3 4, there is an example of alliteration with swelling scene , which makes these words stand out; it is also a form of imagery, as the reader can almost picture the giant stage. The next sentence encompass a total of 4 lines which are enjambed together; this creates ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Argumentative Essay On 2016 Elections Every four years one person makes history. This one person we will remember for the rest of our lives because they are the president of the United States. It all starts with the election. The election shows us who we will be voting for and what they stand for. I m lucky enough to participate in this 2016 election. I m so excited to partake in a part of history. One thing about this election is that I have strong different feelings about the two biggest candidates, Hillary and Trump. Hillary belongs in prison. There are no ifs or buts about it, she committed a crime so she should do the time. There is a huge list of the crimes Hillary potentially committed; including conspiracy, bribery, obstruction of justice, fraud by wire, and more. She did a lot of the crimes Martha Stewart did, but unlike Martha, Hillary didn t got away with it. That is absolutely against what us, United States, stands for. Just because Hillary is running for president, that means she can commit crimes and get away with it? What is our world coming to? We have these laws and for what? So everyone has to follow them but our president or not even president, but candidate? Anyone that is a criminal should not be loud to run for the United States. This is all against what Hillary stands for and that is why I will never vote for Hillary Clinton. • 10. Informative Essay On Donald Trump Naomi Benford Thad Prater U.S. Government 124 December 2017Trump epitomizes Abuse of Power The day of November 8th 2016 would be a day that changed the United States forever. This was the day that Donald Trump, a professional and very much so emotional tweeter, was elected as the 45th President of the United States. Commonly known as a business mogul, he is also a reality TV star. A mogul is a very influential and powerful person in a business or industry. A reality tv star is a person who has gained social recognition through their appearance on television. Reality TV is supposedly an inside look into the un scripted documentary into the life of someone. Donald John Trump was born in Queens New York on June 14, 1946. Donald Trump stated that he was strongly influenced by his father in his decision to pursue the career of real estate development, despite his degree in economics. He graduated from Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. Donald Trump first became best known when he was able to take an unprofitable hotel, revamp it, and then make huge profits. The Trump towerbrought Donald national recognition. Donald Trump is known for his immature tweeting and controversial decisions as the president of the United States. He is the reason that there are more hateful people coming out in the US. He makes them believe that they can be more open and aggressive which is not right. I believe that Donald Trump will be the reason or at least hold a key role in the creation of World 2War III. There have been many occurrences that have had negative outcomes with Donald Trump. He is very impulsive, overly dominant, and inconsiderate. There are some standard elements of teenage life here, including young love, and some degree of rebellion from ones parents, in this case King Triton, Ariel s father. It was not Ariel s physical beauty that the Prince loved, but her voice. He is enraptured by the voice even in the presence of Ariel s physical beauty and great legs. The metaphor here should be obvious. What does a woman lose when she becomes subservient to a man, or male dominated culture in general? She loses her voice. The point of the movie is that a young woman s beauty should come not from her physical attributes, but from her voice, her personality, her self. Metaphorically, without her voice in society, she is pretty helpless and powerless to change what s going on around her, explain herself, etc. As for the prince he isn t interested in Ariel just for her looks. It is also important to note that she gets her reward only after working together with her father, King Triton. In the original version The Little Mermaid, longing for the prince and an eternal soul, eventually visits the Sea Witch, who sells her a potion that gives her legs, in exchange for her tongue. The Sea Witch cuts her tongue and warns her that once she becomes a human, she will never be able to return to the sea. Drinking the potion made out of snakes and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Call Centres, An Integral Part Of Any Organization Call centres are an integral part of any organization in today s modern business as they play a crucial role in the business world and act as the primary source of contact with the customers (Abbott, 2010). The performance of such call centres is increasingly getting important in ensuring an organization offers superior service to end users, and allow end users and customers to communicate through any channel, and minimize the costs of doing business (Bruton, 2012; Tom, 2012). As the environment changes every day, customers are becoming more demanding and sophisticated in terms of needs and desires, and their quality level of services and products they desire get high.at the same time, the market is dynamic and keeps adapting to the changing needs or the new needs are developed by influencing the market (James, 1998; Tom, 2012). Therefore, every organisation aims at keeping the resources (both human and technical) as high as possible while maintaining the service quality of the customers and ensuring employee satisfaction. A balanced approach is required in ensuring a careful balance is maintained between various interests that compete, such as high quality service, low operating costs and keeping employees satisfied. They found that having a class in first period significantly reduces grades in that course, but does not affect grades in related subjects (Cortez Year). this effect is especially apparent in math classes, and also reduces grades in future math classes (Cortez year). Implications The literature presented is in almost unanimous agreement that later daily school start times lead to improved academic achievement in adolescents, with the greatest improvement as start times move from around 7:00 am to after 8:00 am, with diminishing marginal improvements afterwards. Students assigned to a first period class at the USAFA earned worse grades in both their first period classes and classes throughout the day than their peers who were not assigned to a first period class(Carrell 79). This negative effect was most apparent when the first period starting time was 7:00 am, but was still present after a policy changed the starting time of the first period to 7:50 am. The story is based around George Bowling in 1939 and his life in the suburbs of London on Ellesmere Road, where all the houses are the same. He is very cynical of the world around him and dreams of his times as a child in Lower Binfield when things were not perfect, but not yet ruined by the Great War. • 16. Analysis Of The Dead By Charlie Higson This summer, I read the book The Dead by Charlie Higson is a novel about a large group of kids, left to live by themselves without guidance from their parents. In this run down setting of London, England, people who are over the age of 16 turn into kid hunting, flesh eating zombies. The younger kids are forced to live on their own, fighting for life against the wrath of the Adults. The message Higson showed in his book is: after people are forced to rely on themselves without experience, their lack of experience and knowledge will lead them to failure. In the novel, the kids face constant fear and by telling the story from a 3rd person omniscient point of view, Higson can really show how they are forced to only appeal their need for survival. The adults are a mysterious entity to the kids. Since they are doing things only to live, their actions are limited. We think there s something in us that adults need to eat in order to stay alive, (375). They move in groups to keep support between the kids, and by doing this, their fear of adults is slightly eased. Connecting the fact that the kids are living in fear to that London is big, the kids are constantly moving. The possibilities of adults attacking the kids at any point are endless. And when it had gotten really bad, when those adults who d gotten sick but hadn t died had started to turn on the kids, attacking them like wild animals, (8). Greetings, I m Sir Isaac Newton, the famed scientific discoverer of gravity. My childhood was anything but stable. Three months after my father died in 1642, I was born a small, premature infant on January 4th, 1643 in Lincolnshire. My mother remarried when I was 3 and left me with my grandmother. I hated my stepfather, and despised my mother for marrying him, even threatening to burn their house down. In school, I found my solace in books, particularly in science and mechanics. In my first year of college at Cambridge University, my mother returned and tried to make me a farmer, but farming was boring and derivative, so my uncle brought me back to school and I studied color, light, alchemy, history, and religion, particularly the Bible. Often times mothers can be pushy, annoying, and a bit overbearing but in the long run they always just want what is best for their child. Everyone wants their child to be the best, most popular and overall number one. In Amy Tan s short story Two Kinds we see this type of fame hungry mother. The short story is about a Chinese familywho lost everything. The motherhad lost her entire family full of children except for the one in the story. With the belief you could be anything you want in America (Tan 305) in mind the mother set off to find what her child can do. This ultimately will resort in disappointment for both the mother and child, as they do not share the same goals throughout the short story. My initial personal interpretation of this piece is that the mother wants to live vicariously through her daughter. This was proven throughout the story time and time again. Through further thought, different literary techniques, and class discussion I became aware of an alternate interpretation of the story. This is that their are two kinds of daughters and the way the mother daughter relationship could be. Both interpretations have many examples to support them and the story can truly be analyzed in more then one way. Humans have many preconceived notions about who and what they are and what their rightful place in society is. These notions, however, are frequently at odds with reality. The uncertainty of what makes someone human is explored in Ridley Scott s classic sciencefiction film Blade Runner. Dr. Eldon Tyrell s Tyrell Corporation created the replicants to be sub humanservants that were clearly distinct from and inferior to human beings; the replicants were intentionally designed to be unable to express emotions, particularly empathy, which is believed to be a trait that only human beings can possess. Once Deckard becomes a blade runner again, he shows no respect for the replicants, brutally murdering every one he can find. Deckard does not display human feelings; in fact, he appears to be the epitome of inhumanity. Deckard does not demonstrate any feelings at all, particularly empathy. When examined closely, this is Scott s way of suggesting the possibility that Deckard may, in fact, be a replicant as his actions and character development closely resemble that of a replicant. It is possible that Deckard could be murdering his own people , and he might not even know it. Over time, Deckard eventually begins to demonstrate feelings towards others, especially Rachel. His feelings for Rachel are evident when he asks her, Do you love me...and do you trust me (Scott). After Rachel replies that she does, Deckard demonstrates his love for Rachel by giving her an emotional kiss on the lips. As Deckard falls in love with Rachel, a moral issue emerges. That is, he still continues to hunt someone whom he loves. Morality and ethics have been completely disregarded. As time goes by, though, Deckard appears to become more sophisticated and develops a sense of morality. He chooses not to kill Rachel, and instead runs away with her (Scott). Deckard s actions coincide with the actions of the replicants. When the replicants were first created, they did not display emotions, but over time, the replicants became more complex and began to develop human like qualities. Similarly, Deckard has done the same thing in his lifetime and it leads back to the possibility of him being a replicant. The boundary between humans and the replicants is rapidly becoming unclear. This creates a feeling of uncertainty, which is frightening as it leads to the thought that humans cannot be sure about what makes them human and consequently they cannot be sure if they are in fact human. This threatens the perception that the real ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Various reasons as discussed in task 3 lead to the rise in temperature around the earth. The reasons include deforestation, burning fossil fuels, increase in human population and increase in the amount of carbon dioxideand other greenhouse gasses such as methane, chlorofluorocarbons, nitrous oxide and water vapor in the atmosphere. (Dai, 2013) Greenhouse gasses are produced when fossil fuels or wood is burned. In other cases, when plants rot, carbon and methane are released into the atmosphere. Global warming can be controlled through the following ways: preservation of forests, minimal use of fossil fuels in energy production, efficient use of energy and use of low carbon or zero carbon technology. Conservation of forests: Forests can be preserved through prevention of deforestation and through planting more trees. The importance of forests in controlling global warming applies where the trees use up carbon dioxide during photosynthesis and therefore reduce the carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere. Carbon, which is a component of carbon dioxide, is stored in the trees and is necessary for tree growth. Therefore, preservation of trees ensures minimal circulation of carbon and its products in the atmosphere. (Spies A.S. All the women during these times could only stay inside the house and take care of the familial duties and chores. Women were primarily cooking meals, cleaning inside the house, and also taking care of their own child. On the other hand, most of the men were kings in the household who were in charge as they are the main source of income for making money. Back in the day, the maximum of divorce rates was very low compared to a present day, as of now, but how is that the divorce rates are high in the present today? That is because of the authorization in the 19th Amendment which were giving women right to vote, as they became more self governing (Harris). As a college student, I don t understand why Grand Valley s price for parking permits is so much higher than other schools. It seems like every other year the price increases. Grand Valley increased their parking permits to $180 per semester in May of 2014, according to Lisa Garringer. While some students understand the need for the extra cost for parking, there are some students who do not realize the importance of that cost. One of the reasons that GVDP has this fee for parking is due to the limited number of parking spots. In fact, there are only 11,400 parking spots between the Allendale and Pew campuses (Garringer). Even though, greater steric tolerance existed at the HDAC8 active site near the entrance of the capping group than the metal binding moiety region, the pyridimine (CMP 1e, 2e 4e) and pyridine analogues (CMP 5e) displayed the greatest inhibitory activity at IC50 0.1 ВµM. • 51. Section 59 of the Crimes Act and a Parent s Right to... The change to Section 59 of the Crimes Act compromises a parent s right to discipline their child. Parents are in a position of authority in which they are responsible for shaping their children into respectful, law abiding citizens, and often a light smack to the hand or bottom is an effective way of teaching the right attitude and behaviour. If a child displays behaviour that goes against what their parents are teaching them, a light smack is often necessary in letting the child know what they are doing is wrong. Changing the Crimes Act will not stop serious physical abuse from happening to children. Research carried out in Christchurch has suggested that serious offences of child abuse occur as a result of parental personal and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Michele Wilkinson Smith (2007), a criminal lawyer who has argued on both sides of Section 59 in court deems the repeal unnecessary. In her own experience she has never seen a case where a child has been seriously abused go excused because of the reasonable force defence and it is likely that no New Zealand jury would find such serious abuse to be perfectly reasonable. It is unrealistic to assume a person who has seriously harmed a child will go unpunished, however parents who lightly smack will face serious consequences. Joanne Black (2007) agrees, saying the only effect of this change is that a parent who smacks a child in order to improve his or her behaviour breaks the law (p. 58). Light smacking to improve a child s behaviour is at the discretion of the parent, who is aiming to better their child, not seriously harm them. Naturally, the change to Section 59 does have a positive side, providing a step toward New Zealand becoming a less violent society. Removing the reasonable force defence gives parents the opportunity to think twice about the practices they use in correcting their child s behaviour, opting to not use a physical method. Children of this abuse are also less likely to go out and commit violent crimes as a result of the way they were brought up. In the long run, this change could alter the way parents treat their children, and therefore, cutting back on crime (Else, 2007). However, this is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. The Struggle Between Economics And Ecology Right from the end of the 19th Century and the beginning of the 20th Century, there has been a fierce debate concerning how economic growth or development affects the environment or ecological setup of a country. The debate has its basis on whether it would be recommendable for a nation to concentrate on growing its economy while at the same time hurting or harming its ecological system. Naturalists like Pinchot Gifford, John Muir, Love Canal and Cuyahoga County always argued in favor of environmental preservation as opposed to concentrating all efforts towards developing the economy (Olmes 154; Miller 150 51). This paper will, therefore, discuss the struggle between economicsand ecology specifically looking at particular events across the Twentieth Century. It will also attempt to explain the factors involved in the pursuit for change on the way people and the administration perceived the environmental conservation as opposed to economic growth. The Twentieth Century conservationists like John Muir and Gifford Pinchotalways argued that it was important for the government of the day to strike a balance between the two conflicting goals of economic development and environmental conservation. According to Menzel (2007; 3 4), other environmental movements in the USA had been in constant conflict with industrial enterprises. The major root cause of conflict being the fact that industrial enterprises had ignored the fact their activities were hurting the environment through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
