What Is The Diction In The Call Of The Wild
Call Of The Wild
In the classic, Call Of The Wild, by Jack London, Buck, a southland dog from California, is sold
off to gold seekers during the Alaskan Gold Rush. He is thrust into the brutal and unforgiving
life of a sled dog and is vilely treated. Buck then must adapt to the harsh life he has been placed
into by learning to fight and survive in order to prosper. Years after he was drafted into the gold
rush, he is rescued from his suffering by a man named John Thornton. While bonding with John,
Buck is also growing closer to nature. When Buck was out exploring, John s camp was attacked by
indians, and he is killed. Buck then decides to return to the wild and live like his ancestors. The
author is highly intentional of the diction used in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This first theft marked Buck as fit to survive in the hostile Northland environment. It marked his
adaptability, and his capacity to adjust himself to changing conditions, the lack of which would
have meant swift and terrible death. It marked, further, the decay or going to pieces of his moral
nature, a vain thing and a handicap in the ruthless struggle for existence. It was all well enough in
the Southland, under the law of love and fellowship, to respect private property and personal
feelings; but in the Northland, under the law of club and fang, whoso took such things into
account was a fool, and in so far he observed them he would fail to prosper (London 13). The tone

Franklin D. Roosevelt s Impact On American Society
Franklin D. Roosevelt was a radical president compared to the past presidents. He came in with all
of these new ideas of change and reform. When Roosevelt was elected, he created a series of reform
movements that would deal with the problems in American society. Although many of those reform
movements failed, one was successful and still exists today. That movement was the ultimate
reform movement called the New Deal. The New Deal is radical considering it provided reforms
that included giving the federal government more power, such as: Social Securityand the Fair Labor
Standards Acts, and creating precedents that continue to shape American lives today. Roosevelt
felt that reform needed to happen in order for America to get back on their feet again. He

A Study of Iron Essay
Iron is an important element to the scientific community, especially those involved in the branch of
chemistry. Consequently, humans rely on iron for many different things. Iron is diverse from all
other elements with regards to its natural occurrence, historic and contemporary uses, the origin of
its name, and when, how, where, and by whom it was discovered. It also has unique characteristic
physical and chemical properties. Without the discovery, and distinctive properties of iron, life on

Iron began being widely used across Central Europe during the 8th century, and across Northern
Europe during the 6th century, and the Near Eastern Iron Age took place in two phases during
the 12th and 13th century. Asia began using iron at the same time as Europe, and China used
iron long before the Common Era. In North and South America, the development of iron began
right after the rock age, skipping the Bronze Age. During the early Iron Age, iron was used to
make tools when combined with 0.3% to 1.2% by weight of carbon to form the alloy steel. Iron
was used to make houses, tools such as swords, daggers, chisels, and knives, and jewellery,
among others. Iron can be used for a wide range of resources in the contemporary world. It is the
most abundant, least expensive, and most used of all metals. It is vital to human and animal life,

Summary
Bella Swan is a 17 year old girl who has lived in Phoenix, Arizona, with her mother, her entire
life. After her mother remarries, she moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her father.
Although she is very shy, she seems to make friends very easily at her new high school. On her
first day of school, she takes a seat next to a handsome, yet extremely reserved boy named Edward
Cullen. As soon as Bella sits down, Edward gets up and leaves, trying his hardest to avoid her.
Bella finds his behavior completely strange, but eventually Edward warms up to her, and the
two begin a close friendship. One day, Bella is walking through the school parking lot. All of a
sudden, a car pulls up out of nowhere, heading straight for Bella. Edward suddenly appears,
stopping the car with little force, using only one hand, and completely amazing Bella with his
incredible strength and speed. Still curious, Bella asks a family friend, Jacob, about Edward and
the rest of the Cullen family. Jacob reveals that the Cullen family members are all seen as outcasts,
as everyone believes them to be vampires. Bella ends up questioning ... Show more content on

How Did Al Capone Impact Society
During the period of prohibition, from 1920 to 1933, the sale, manufacture and transportation of
alcohol was made illegal, through the Volstead act of 1919, leading to the first and only time an
Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was repealed. Throughout this time in American history
gangsters were common and were constantly increasing in every city but one in particular stood out
from all the others making a significant impact on American history. Scarface, Alphonse Capone or
more commonly known as Al Capone; who was the most infamous gangster, taking advantage of the
era of Prohibition, ran an organized crimeassociation in Chicago during the 1920s. He was
responsible for over 500 murders; he had 700 men under his control and earned $60 million a
year for bootlegging. Capone, who was glamorised in media and shown as charitable to the
helpless was also controlling and violent and became an iconic figure of the successful American
gangster who insisted he was just supplying the public demand .
As Al Capone was such a controversy his significance, the interpretations of how he made an
impact on American lives, culture and politics and how he was remembered at the time and

Volkswagen dirties it s hands in emissions scandal
A car is spewing deadly carbon dioxide, forty times more than the car next to you. Piling onto many
recent scandals in Europe, Germany s Volkswagen has cheated emissions tests. The scandal has
sparked enormous stifle across the world and turmoil in the company. The Volkswagencompany
started when Adolf Hitler gave the order to have the small middle class car to be produced. VW
produced the Beetle in the 1930s to much of Germany s population. After the end of the third
Reich, Volkswagen spread and became a large job creator in Germany as well as an international
brand (Morning Edition). Volkswagen prioritization of the European market, led them to bet their
future on green tech chips and diesel engines. This is in contrary to the moves of many other car
makers, who are pursuing electric cars in the American market. The American market thought of
diesel engines as secondary and insignificant (Ziegler). The Environmental Protection Agency s
Tier ii emissions standards had high bars for diesel emissions that would be extremely difficult to
reach. There was a heavy burden for Volkswagen s engineers to create a quantum leap in the diesel
engine in terms of emissions and fuel economy. To cut these emissions Volkswagen would need to
use an effective but bulky and expensive system in its cars. However cheating the emissions tests
would be fairly easy due to the lack of

Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Sula
Two young girls, coalescing on a grass laden field while lying on their stomachs, dig a hole in
unspoken harmony. A picture of youth and innocence, this scene depicts an innocuous moment
which the two girls share as a result of their juvenescence or does it? In Toni Morrison s Sula,
this scene, among others, appears at first to be both irrelevant to the novel s underlying theme and
out of place with regard to the rest of the plot. Yet, when analyzed further, the literary devices that
Morrison uses in these scenes bring readers to a vastly different conclusion. These scenes serve as
windows into the mind of Morrison and even into the larger themes present in the text. So, perhaps
two girls sharing a seemingly casual experience is not as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like the vasculature of plants shrouded by bark, innocence is shrouded and further internalized as
social influence compiles. Thus, Morrison effectively illustrates both the presence of innocence
and its inherent definition via careful diction in this scene. Additionally, the scene is illuminating
because of the timing in which Morrison introduces the idea of renewed innocence. She chooses
to place it directly before one of the most gruesome and chilling events of the novel: the death of
Chicken Little. Now, readers could wonder if she is simply juxtaposing two starkly contrasted
scenarios for literary effect. But even though the timing could be interpreted solely to as a method
of juxtaposition, an ulterior motive becomes apparent when readers inquire why the girls allow
Chicken Little to die after illuminating their innocent cores, not before. If the girls had killed
Chicken Little before stripping away the bark from the twig, the scene could be perceived as a
symbol of internal cleansing and a means of psychologically stripping themselves of guilt. But the
scene precedes his drowning, possibly indicating that their ambivalence was catalyzed by their
exposed, innocent essence. Morrison portrays such a vastly contradictory portrayal of popularized
innocence in an attempt to demonstrate how innocence may not be defined as innocuously as
society defines it. However, before stating the another significant element

Were De Valera s personal Catholic views responsible for the religious elements in the Irish
Constitution?
Eamon De Valera put much effort into the making of the Irish Constitution. In fact he is said to
have helped to confirm the stable, constitutional direction of the independent Irish state. The
Constitution is often referred to as De Valera s Constitution as it was something that he put so
much effort and time into. Chubb has said that at times, De Valera seemed to see Catholicism and
Irishness as the one and the same. He uses a reference from De Valera s Patrick s Day broadcast to
demonstrate this; Since the coming of St. Patrick, fifteen hundred years ago, Ireland has been a
Christian and a Catholic nation. All the ruthless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After reading it, De Valera replied that the majority of the work could not be used in the actual
body of the constitution, but perhaps in the preamble. It seems that the committee of Jesuits were
worried that Cahill had gone rogue and was adding bits to their suggestions without telling them.
As a result of this their report was to be a formal submission qhich would be sent to De Valera as
an official presentation from the Irish Province of Jesuits rather than going through Cahill as they
had previously been doing. Three intellectuals John McErlean, Joseph Canavan and Edward Coyne
were appointed to this project to help Cahill. Fr Coyne said that a constitution should define ......
the rights of the individual..... which he could not surrender to any Government. They looked to
the preamble of the Polish constitution for inspiration on the following subjects; the rights of the
family (in particular education), religion to be thought in denominational schools (where
possible), the state would not be able to dissolve a valid marriage, State relations with the
Catholic Church were to be defined by a Concordat, freedom of religious worship, ecclesiastical
property, private property, freedom of speech and of the press. These were initially taken by the
group from the Polish constitution and then tweaked to suit Ireland. Cahill tried to pass this work

Analysis Of Stone City By Grant Wood
Stone City by Grant Wood was created in 1930 by using oil on wood panel. This painting
illustrates a lot of visual elements and principles of design which are important components of an
artist s work. Visual elements and principles of design help draw the viewer s eyes to certain
aspects of the painting and they tell the story of what the artist is trying to convey. This analysis
will highlight the visual elements and principles of design that are present in Grant Wood s Stone
City. The use of lines in Stone City is one of the key visual elements in this painting. The artist used
many contour lines to define the boundaries between the trees and the valley, the river and the land,
and even the long roads from the hillsas it winds through the countryside. Wood also incorporated
a lot of implied lines into his artwork. The trees and bushes that line the hills create a line of sight
which draws the eye of the viewer to the house on the river, which is the focal point of this painting.
The lines all move in different directions and help the artist highlight different aspects of the
painting. Around the cityand in the foreground of the painting the artist uses a lot of horizontal
lines, which gives the town a calm sensation. As we move away from the city, we find a lot of
vertical lines which denote growth. We also find a lot of diagonal lines which imply action in the
painting. The diagonal lines are predominantly used by the artist in the creation of the roads and

The Influence Of The Old English
In the development of English, invasions and other historical events were huge factors that had
influence to the process. Through the history, the language especially English has been changed
very much. When we see the Shakespeare s sonnet, we can find out that his sonnet is written in
early Modern English but that language is not quite different from Modern English. However,
when we read the poem which was written in the Old English period, many of us can realize that
Old English is very different from the Modern English. When Old English was changed into Middle
English, there was an important historical event, the Norman Conquest. In this report, I would like

As William the Conqueror brought the Normans to England, the Norman culture, language or
Feudalism could be accepted without any resistance of England people. Also the nobilities who
helped William in the battle became the lords and they lost their own language (Old English)
and began to use Old French dialect which is called Old Norman. Since the leaders of Normans
used Old Norman, language which was related to politics, religious began to change. Especially,
Norman from France had huge influence in politics and Anglo Saxons had to step down from
their status. Conquerors were proud of themselves as a French people, and they designated
Norman French as a national language of England. Since then, the upper class and educated
people used Anglo Norman that was developed from Norman French and Old English was used
only by the lower class, and as a result the status that old English had was collapsed. That is,
because Norman people kept away from using Old English and adopted Anglo Norman, Norman
language has huge influence in Middle English period unlike in Old English period. All social
activities and official documents were done through the Anglo Norman and Old English could

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Millennials
The Great Recession was an economic crisis that caused the housing market to crash, and many
people suffered greatly because of this event. The generation to feel the recession s effects the
worst though was the Millennials, people born from around 1981 to 1997. Many Millennials
became unemployed and where scared from this event, causing them to lean heavily on the
government for support. Today, Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Echo Boomers, are
marked by their increase in the use of social media and other communication devices to stay with
the advancing times, however the economic troubles have stayed with them despite the
generation s growing use of technology. Millennials have been late to buy houses compared to
other generations, and this is due to the Great Recession. Buying a house has many advantages
and disadvantages, however buying one later seems to be hurting the Echo Boomers. The
benefits of buying a house stretch far beyond simply having a private place to stay; a house has
many economic benefits as well. Most things that people buy, like cars or phones, depreciate in
value, meaning that the longer a person keeps the item, the more its value will decrease. On the
other hand, a house appreciates with time, meaning its value grows as more time passes, making
buying a house a sound and smart investment. Even if a person did not want to keep their house,
they can typically sell the house for more than they bought it for. Furthermore, houses bring
financial stability that many other living arrangements cannot provide for residents. When
someone buys a house, he or she normally goes to a bank, takes out a loan, and uses the loan with
some of their own cash to ease the burden of their purchase, and afterwards, the person must pay
back the loan in amounts called mortgages. These mortgages are regular payments of a fraction of
the loan, and the amount does not fluctuate much, allowing the owner to know ahead of time what
the next payment will be. Rent payments may shift drastically from one payment to another, and
this may surprise the renter if they are not prepared like the homeowner. Also, owning a house give
the owner tax deductions, which can further help a person manage their

Internal Auditing And External Auditing Industry Essay
In the last decade, the world of business has been subjected to significant changes. Globalization
has given a new meaning to the way in which business is now conducted; i.e. business in a world
devoid of geographical boundaries or time zones. Global expansion has also given rise to many
emerging firms and laid the foundations for fierce competition amongst existing industries. Internal
auditingis no exception. In order not to face complacency or obsolescence, the internal auditing
industry has to be proactive and adapt to changing market trends.
Indeed, the possibilities available to internal auditing in our current global economic climate are
limitless. Nevertheless, for the auditing industry to remain successful in today s fast paced world,
it has exploit every resource and turn it into a profitable venture. For instance, one of the driving
forces of globalization is the increased use of technology in all kinds of business and trade

firms, ranging from architecture to retailing, amongst others. Many organizations are sometimes
reluctant to using technology to expand business since they may be struggling to keep up with the
accelerated pace of operations. Thus, it is an opportunity for internal auditors to step in and guide
them as they explore other business horizons. What is required for the audit industry to thrive in

How Has Society Changed In Puritan Times
Almost everything about society has changed since the time of the Puritans, and many of the
changes have happened within the last hundred years. Many of society s rules were constructed
during the Puritan times to properly establish a governing body and it is important to examine
how these concepts of society have changed and the importance of establishing them in the first
place. Looking through the lenses of three different perspectives, over 300 years, it is easy to tell
which of society s rules have changed the most. To do this, we must look at society through the
eyes of a Puritan, my grandmother and myself. Born in the 1940s and raised in Griswold, Iowa, my

was very light and was sometimes mistaken for a white man. Chesnutt chose to identify himself as
a black man, but in his works, his characters move back and forth across the color line and struggle
with the world they exist in. The Wife of His Youth and Other Storiesof the Color Line was

they have been denied their birthright and their inclinations towards being white, the powers that

Dramatic irony is when the audience or reader knows the words and actions of the characters in
a work of literature, but certain characters in the story do not know them. The reader or audience
has a greater knowledge of many of the characters themselves. Shakespeare employs dramatic

His intellectual powers are of the highest order. (Kittredge, 18)
The irony found in the characterization of the antagonist is balanced by an equal irony in the
presentation of the protagonist. Hamlet is present at the court gathering dressed in black, the
color of mourning, for his deceased father. He is not a man of the world, but rather protesting
and thoughtful and by himself. His first words say that Claudius is A little more than kin and
less than kind, indicating a dissimilarity in values between the new king and himself, thus, in a
sense, demoting himself to the position of an outcast, one who counts for nothing. At this point
Hamlet is disoriented and does not know who he really is; he is beginning to lose his sanity.
And, incredibly, he is the greatest of people, in terms of what really matters in life one s spiritual
ideals or morals. He is combating himself because he is attempting to do what is right for
Denmark but before everyone s eyes he is evil. This outcast is a prince; he is a genius. His
speeches confront problems which most easily besets men of genius (Coleridge, 345). His first

Creationism Isn t Science but Belongs in Schools
The origin of life has been a point of discussion for as long as history has been documented.
Ancient Egyptians believed that the sun god Ra took another form, created land from a watery

sentence; the author, however, takes approximately six pages to reiterate this idea. Eldredge s main
point is simply that creationism isn t a science and evolution is a vital theory in the field of science.
The idea is basic; the theory of evolution is based in science and therefore is to be taught in a
science curriculum. Evolution is the theory that there is one basic scheme of similarities
interlocking all of life. This theory is usually studied in biological fields but is useful in a number
of other scientific fields. By explaining the uses of evolution in some scientific fields, Eldredge
makes the point

Fallacies In The Logical Structure Of The Argument
What is logic? What is a fallacy? Well both, logic and fallacy almost mean the same thing or even
relate to one another. According to quora.com, a fallacy is a pattern of reasoning that is always
wrong. This is due to a flaw in the logical structure of the argument which renders the argument
invalid. However, there are many fallacies out there but the three main ones. First, there is appeal to
authority, Second, there is begging the question. Third, there is attacking the person. It is important
for a student to understand fallacies as well as logicand how they relate to each other.
To begin with, the first main fallacy is when the writer is appealing to authority. According to

the person making the argument, rather than the argument itself, when the attack on the person is
completely irrelevant to the argument the person is making. In other words, it is when the
person talking is being attacked personally is attacked by thing that do not relate to the subject
that he or she are talking about. However, the first example of attacking the person is Jane says
that drug use is morally wrong, but she is just a goody two shoes Christian, so we don t have to

morally repulsive he is. However, there are also a few examples from the story called Love is a

The French Revolution Was A Period Of Significant Events...
The French Revolution was a period of significant events that drastically changed the face of
France, altering the traditions of government and culture. History throughout time has maintained a
cause and effect pattern with nearly all crucial events; the French Revolution is no different.
Lasting from 1789 until 1799, the revolution was partially carried forward from Napoleon during
the expansion of the French Empire. The revolution was a chain of social and political acts
brought on by reformers in the French Government to execute an absolute power from King Louis
XVI and wealthy landowners. As well as, developing a government elected by the town s citizens.
Ultimately the act of liberty and equality for people would be instigated, in addition, generating fair
living standards and treatment for entire social classes. As one modern formulation puts it, war is
simply the use of violence by states for the enforcement, the protection, or the extension of their
political power (Rothenberg, 1988). For a long time, there have been many elements triggering a
civil war in France. The revolution held many long range causes, the top three being; social,
political, and economic difficulties. The social conditions of eighteenth century France were
unfortunate. The country branched societies into three classes and estates. The First Estate
consisted of the Clergy. During the French Revolution, the clergy were separated into two groups;
the lower and higher clergymen. The higher

Motherhood In Chicana Motherhood
Chicana Motherhood:
How Mothers Teach Us the Art of Self love and Influence Our Identity
Introduction
In the beginning, there were mothers. Like goddesses they create life, nurturing their offspring into
adulthood and beyond. Through wisdom, culture, and tradition they educate their young on the
wonders of life, gracing us with the opportunity to follow in their footsteps to become mothers
ourselves. Through the study of Chicana feminism, it becomes apparent how motherhood is a
recurring theme throughout much Chicana feminist art and literature, often discussing how these
women fostered growth in multiple facets of their being through their general life experience.
Perhaps, this is due to the role of a mother weaving the lives of their children, nursing them, guiding
them, and creating a life that implements their own values and beliefs. They have the opportunity to
create a mirror image or even an entirely new and improved version of themselves. Whether the
maternal figure is a hero or villain, traditional or nontraditional, tangible or fictitious, these
characters play a vital role in shaping the Chicana feminism we see today.
However, one of the most interesting concepts is how these mothers contribute to the ways in
which their daughters develop their own identities and individual practices that enable them to
mother themselves. More specifically, how they learn to doctor wounds, process emotions and
thought, and care for themselves in all aspects of life. Therefore,

Personality shapes almost every aspect of an individual s life, and being satisfied with one s job
is not an exclusion. The way an individual outwardly and inwardly assesses themselves, their
position and their career, will play a role in their job performance, and ultimately their job
satisfaction, which is defined by some merely as how content an individual is with his or her
job, whereas to others, it is more complex. Job satisfaction to them involves multidimensional
psychological responses to one s job. The Correlation between the Factor Personality Model and
Job Satisfaction Statement of Task The main purpose of this investigation is to evaluate the link
between the Big Five Factor of Personality and overall job satisfaction. To conduct this
investigation, the Barrick and Mount (1991) meta analysis of the correlation between job
performance and the Big Five Personality Model will be used as a guide. Over the last 20 years,
unanimity has developed that the five factor model of personality, more frequently referred to as
the Big Five (Goldberg, 1990), can be used to define the most remarkable aspects of personality.
The Big Five structure has become metaphysical across scopes, cultures, and sources of ratings
(McCrae John, 1992). The Big Five has been researched in areas of industrial organizational
psychology, predominantly regarding job performance (Barrick Mount, 1991).

John Piper Analysis
John Piper gives several reasons for why we as Christians believe that the Son became human
without ceasing to be God. The first is brought up in verse 14. It states that the Word dwelt among
us. So if the Word is God, and the Word dwelt among us, the that means Christ was still one
hundred percent Godand also man. This is the reason shown in Matthew 1:23 when the angel
states that the child born of a virgin s name will be called Immanuel, which means God with us.
When the Word became flesh, it did not cease to be God, the Son s name means that God his
here, dwelling among us. The second reason is also in verse 14. It states that We have seen his
glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. He goes on to specify what the meaning of as,
actually is. Some try to say that as, refers to simply being like or similar to the Son of the Father.
However, when it says as, it is saying that it really is the Son. What it means for us as Christians
that the Word became flesh cannot be simply boiled down to one single reason. However, it begins
with Philippians 2:5 7 when it says, Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ
Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count... Show more content on

Disparities in Prison Populations Essay
DISPARITIES IN PRISON POPULATIONS Although we would like to believe the world is not
as racially charged in 2013 as it was in the 1960s, a look in our penal system would show that
minorities are still arrested and incarcerated at a higher rate than whites. The United States has
experienced a rise in its prisonpopulation over the last 40 years and our incarceration rate is nearly 5
times higher than any other country. Even though 13% of the US population are African American
males, they make up 38% of the prison population. Contributing factors to these numbers are
mandatory minimum sentences, high crimeand poverty areas, and lack of rehabilitative resources

Minorities in these urban areas have a hard time finding employment that could support their
family efficiently. Most end up dropping out of school and join or are forced to join gangs. They
are more likely to turn to crime as a means of survival which increases their chances of building a
criminal history. This type of criminal activity also ties back into the Three Strikes Law (Nicosia,
MacDonald, Arkes. 2013) which states that the offender will be incarcerated on their third offense,
no matter how minor the charge. The lack of rehabilitative resources in the criminal justice system
leads to repeat offenders also. Although it should not be the responsibility of those in society
who are doing the right thing to pay for services for those who are incarcerated, we are doing
ourselves an injustice if we don t. If we are not providing rehabilitative classes, vocational/job
training, or some type of counseling while prisoners are incarcerated, we are defeating the
purpose of locking them up. Criminal justice referrals account for almost 37% of drug treatment
admissions (Nicosia, MacDonald, Arkes. 2013. p. 78). If we don t address the issues that got them

Search of Convergence of Real Per Capita Incomes

(Abstract)
After three decades of quantitative control regime, development policy in India had a liberalized
mold in the 1980s. Unleashing of full fledged reform process since 1991 was followed by
significant step up in the rate of economic growth in the country. But as the evidence of unequal
distribution of gains of higher growth started surfacing, the development strategy was further
modified to make the growth process more inclusive. The present paper is motivated by the
question whether regional disparities in development attainment in India tended to increase or
decrease during these three phases of development policy in the period since 1980. The analysis
has been carried out in terms of beta convergence of real per capita income of states of India. The
results suggest divergence in the early years but a moderation of the divergent tendencies in the
subsequent period. However a convergence process has yet to be set in motion. Key words:
Regional disparity, Convergence, Divergence, Development attainments.

In a vast country like India regional disparities in development attainments can be naturally present.

How Does Malvolio Present Olivia Throughout The Play
In the play Twelfth Night , Malvolio is a steward for Lady Olivia. He s very in love with her and
only she has to deal with it. On the other hand, Olivia is plainly not in love with him; she is in
love with Cesario. He tries everything to try and win her love but he also has a negative attitude

It is often asked why you should budget. It is so boring. I don t have time to budget. Lots of
excuses. But the truth is budgeting is very helpful and beneficial to you and your family. Here are
5 Reasons Budgeting Can Improve Your Life.
1. Reduce / Eliminate Debt
The number one reason given for making a budget is to reduce your overall debt and to eventually
eliminate debt from your financial life totally. Budgeting is a tool by which you take back control
of your cash flow. You remove the majority of the spontaneous spending and you plan ahead of
time on how your money will be spent. It eliminates the feeling of no control and returns those
controls back to you.
2. Build Savings
Budgeting is not just for being rid of debt. Once you have paid off all of your debt you should
continue to budget. Where before you were directing your money were to go to get out from under
that debt burden, now you can direct your money where to go for savings and investment purposes.
Once you get to this stage of budgeting, budgeting

Introduction:
The I 35W Mississippi river bridge also known as Bridge 9340 officially was an eight lane, steel
truss arch bridge which carried the Interstate 35W across the Mississippi river connected the
downtown east and Marcy Holmes. Its construction began in the year 1964, was finally opened in
1967. It connected the northeast of Metrodome on its south end and the University of Minnesota on
the North end. The bridge was the boundary of Mississippi Mile downtown riverfront parkland. The
north foundation of the bridge was near the hydroelectric plant built in 1988. The south abutment
was in an area polluted by the coal gas processing plant. There weren t any mentions of this in the
failure investigations. The bridge was a continuous truss bridge that had a total span of 1,907 ft. It
was an 8 lane bridge having a width of 113.3ft. and was 115 ft. high. It was designed by Sverdrup

The construction contract worth more than US $5.2 million at the time, went to Hurcon Inc. and
Industrial Construction Company, which built the steel trusses and deck. The piers were not built
in the navigation channel instead the center span of the bridge consisted of a single 456 foot steel

Essay On Mortgage Rate
If you re not a financial professional, it may seem like mortgage rates are pretty much arbitrary.
One day, they re sitting stable at 3.75%. A month later, they could be 4.375%. Since these rate
fluctuations can cost you thousands of dollars over the life of your mortgage, these rate changes
can be extremely frustrating for home buyers. That s why it s a good idea to understand the
driving forces behind your mortgage rate. It will help you understand when it s a good idea to
lock in a rate, or at the very least, help you make sense of your investment. One of the most
important factors in determining your mortgage rate is the 10 year bond yield. Simply put, 10
year treasury bonds are financial products offered by the government that offer a low rate of return.
This low rate of return is offset by the security of the investment. Investors make very little money

Misconceptions Of NASA
One of the biggest misconceptions of NASA is the idea of a homogeneous organization. NASA is,
in fact, a conglomeration of different groups with various aims. Sometimes these groups can be at
odds with each other over various organizational resources. The nature of space operations split
these groups within NASAinto two general categories: the Human Destiny camp with human
spaceflight and colonization of space as the ultimate goal and the Science in Space camp focused
on using robotic spaceflight to perform space science.
Spaceflight has a difficulty holding public attention, but robotic spaceflight has a much more
difficult time compared to human spaceflight. Even now regardless of having no active capability

Definition Essay On Open Relationships
Have you found yourself asking, What is an open relationship or Are we in an open relationship? If
so, hopefully it isn t because you agreed to such a relationship without understanding what it really
means.
If you and your partner want to have a successful relationship (open or not), it s absolutely critical to
have clarity on your expectations of each other. This is rarely more important than when
committing to a non traditional arrangement.
Okay... back to the question. What exactly does it mean to have a relationship that s open? The
complicated thing is that the term has different meanings to different people, so take a look at some
of these categories and come to a finite agreement with your partner on some open relationship
rules. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A relationship like this may or may not include full disclosure. In some cases, the faithful partner
accepts that there will be outside relationships but doesn t want to discuss it at all.
Swinging
One of the more controversial types of open relationships is the swinger lifestyle. In an open
relationship that includes couples dating others, there is often a focus on togetherness in the affairs.
In some cases, the couple dates other couples; however, there are many cases where the couple
adds a single third party to the relationship. The primary relationship comes first, but both partners
are open to fully disclosed outside relationships. When this is strictly sexual, a third (or fourth or
fifth or whatever) person may simply be included on occasion.
Swinging exists in a variety of other forms as well. In some cases, there may be a multitude of
people committed to openly sharing each other while forsaking all outside parties.
Open Committed
The most important reason to ask your partner What is an open relationship to you, is that for some
people the term simply means keeping communication lines

The Importance Of A Sense Of Community In Shirley...
In the story The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, the villagers gather annually to select a person to
sacrifice to ensure a good harvest. Although, the word lottery is usually associated with winning
a grand prize, I believe that Ms. Jackson used that word to create a sense of familiarity in the
gathering of villagers for her audience. It certainly made me feel secure that in the unfurling of the
story I would find out which lucky villager won something nice. I smiled as I read about the young
children playing with the rocks and the husbands and wives gathering and gossiping. I imagined
the scene of a sleepy little farming town where the cheerful civil servant would officiate public
events and all the townsfolk had a wholesome sense of community.

Brandon Ingram Case Study
This article is about what kind of player Brandon Ingram will be when he starts his rookie season
with the Lakers. He is not going to cause as much drama as D Angelo Russell did last season.
During his introductory news conference on Tuesday, he did not anticipate how he might play
this season instead he promised that he would be coachable. He said this same word three times
as he was questioned at the Lakers practice facility with second round draft pick Ivica Zubac. He
said that he will be coachable enough to listen to the coach. He just expects to work hard and
show up every day aggressive. He also pointed out that no one can replace Kobe Bryant and that
as long as his coach is happy, he is happy. This sounded a little prepared and cheesy,... Show more

Researchers have now found that eating pasta actually lowers chances of obesity after examining
data on thousands of Italians. According to George Pounis savoring pasta helps a healthy body
mass index, lower waist circumference, and better waist hip ratio after looking at data. Older
research has recommended the Mediterranean Diet which is a lifestyle not a meal plan.
Researchers say that the unknown about how pasta affects health has been solved by this new
study. These results were published online, July 4 in the journal Nutrition and Diabetes. Pounis
added that eating pasta does not increase body weight but actually lowers it. People have
avoided pasta in these current years because they thought it was making them fat, but this new
research has caused people to look back on these views. Two huge studies were started in
Pozzilli, Italy so Pounis and the others part of IRCCS Neuromed can analyze. This included
23,000 Italians. One of the studies was the Moli sani Project which involved citizens part of the
Molise region and the other was the Italian Nutrition and Health Survey which looks at the eating
habits in all of Italy. The research didn t include overeating pasta which could add weight. Licia

Essay On Feral Cat Mitigation
Feral Cat Mitigation Efforts: TNR and More With feral cats posing ecological and public health
threats, many different techniques, reflecting a range of moral and ethical values, have been
proposed and implemented. TNR is considered one of the most humane methods, but other methods
that exist include euthanasia, trap and eradication, and more intensive versions of TNR that include
vaccinations and rehabilitations. These methods vary in their effectiveness, practicality, cost and
social acceptance. Additionally, differences in how people perceive animals and their intrinsic
value, have made feral catmitigation efforts an extremely charged topic for animal welfare
advocates, policy makers, conservationists and pet owners. When analyzing methods, it s important
to evaluate what their goals are in terms of managing feral cat populations, state their ethical and
moral perspective, and determine their effectiveness. Additionally, their impact on cat behavior will
be explored using evidence from a variety of related studies, which will serve to assist in judging
the effectivity of the populationcontrol method. The method for controlling feral cat populations
that is focused on in this paper is TNR, which stands for Trap Neuter Release (though, for clarity,
the term neuter refers to sterilization of both male and female cats). This method is extremely
popular around the world due to the fact that it is considered extremely humane; rejecting the idea
that healthy feral cats

Engel V. Vitale Court Case Summary
Engel v. Vitale Court Case (10 minute podcast)
Intro about 10 ten years ago, in the year 1951,the New York Board of Regents approved a Quote
nondenominational prayer . It was 22 words long and The blandest of invocations read as
follows: Almighty God, we acknowledge our dependence upon Thee, and beg Thy blessings
upon us, our teachers, and our country. voluntary prayer for recitation at the start of each school
day. A group of parent in New Hyde Park, New York Steven Engel was a parent in New Hyde
Park, New York. He and a group of other parents objected to the daily speaking of the prayer, even
though it was voluntary, at the start of each school day. Steven Engel and his group of supporting
parents sued William Vitale, the president of the local school board. The parents reasoning was that
this optional prayer didn t align with the views of the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment
of the United States Constitution. The 1st amendment says Congress shall make no law respecting
an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of
speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the
government for a redress of grievances. The establishment clause states quote, Congress shall make

the Establishment Clause was only added to the Constitution to keep the federal government from

Petrified Wood
2. Background on the mineralogical composition of petrified woods
A diverse suite of minerals and phases have been found in petrified woods from all over the world.
The common species found range from pure opal to pure quartz whereas others include calcite,
dolomite, pyrite, goethite, phosphates (apatite), laumontite, uraninite, sphalerite and organics
(Nowak et al., 2005). In coal deposits inundated by sea water (Yossifova et al., 2011), the woods
can be permineralized by quartz, plagioclase, muscovite, smectite, kaolinite and nacrite (a typical
hydrothermal mineral).
Cross polarized light shows that opal CT has very low interference colours, in contrast to the
brighter colours typical of chalcedony (Mustoe, 2008). However, polarizing microscope images
alone cannot resolve the degree of crystallinity of phases. For this, XRD and Raman microscopy
are required to clearly identify chalcedony, moganite, orthorhombic silica, opal CT, opal C and
quartz (HatipoДџlu and TГјrk, 2009). It is not easy to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Organic constituents of cell walls have a strong affinity for silicic acid molecules (Leo
Barghoorn, 1976). Opal mineralized woods have densities ) are attached to the interior surfaces of
cell walls, where they are enclosed within colourless chalcedony that later permineralized the cell
lumina (Mustoe, 2008). The observed alternating crystallization of quartz and chalcedony may be
caused by variations in the degree of silica saturation of the mineral forming SiO bearing fluids.
These results confirm the earlier conclusions of Heaney and Davis (1995) and Götze et al. (1998)
who showed that the agate structure can probably be interpreted as an alternating formation of fine
grained, highly defective chalcedony intergrown with moganite, and coarse grained low defect
quartz (Götze et al.,

Democratization Of Latin America And Eastern Europe
1.Despite the democratization movements in Latin America and Eastern Europe in 1980s and 90s,
Middle Eastern authoritarian regimes proved to be resilient. Despite the recent Arab Spring
protests, most Middle Eastern nations live under authoritarian regimes. How do these authoritarian
regimes survive for so long? What are the factors that contribute to their longevity?
Most Eastern European countries that were part of the Eastern bloc, after the fall of the Berlin Wall
began the transition process started by the changes in social system and started to connect into the
European Union. Although some of these states essentially have not changed, however, public
discourse is certainly different, the market has been liberalized, and states such as Romania and
Bulgaria are even members of the European Union.
In the Middle East the situation is totally different. Rulers of the dynasties, kings, in this part of
the world ruled for decades and there are no indications that the situation might change. Some of
them not even the Arab spring (which was simulated process of social change) has managed to
waver. This primarily refers to the rulers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates.
The question is what are the factors that influence both durable and firm power? The first reason is
certainly an authoritative stance that rulers occupy which is almost the dictatorship and sometimes
even exceeds borders of the dictatorship. We only have to remember the massacre in Hama, Syria
in 1982.

Class Learning Will Provide Higher Grades
Yes, I agree with the statement that there are issues. Schools will have their own limitations and it
will create less tendency for ideas to be generalized for different students or same nature of settings.
2. Are there any cause and effect statements you canmake that you believe would be true in most

The cause and effect statement that will be true in most cases include,
Class learning will provide higher grades
Such statement will be true as there will be the more effectiveness in mentioned status and the
standards for the school settings.
3. Are there any advantages to having more than one independent variable in an experimental
design? If so, what are they? What about more than one dependent variable?
Yes, it can be the best tools to have more than one independent variables as there is no limitation
for a single variable to be affecting entirely on the dependent variable. It is thus, the way to manage
and check more than one variables for which one is more effectively causing relationship.
4. What designs could be used in each of the following studies? (Note: More than one design is

Gram-Negative Bacteria Lab Report
Title Page
Introduction
The purpose of this lab is to use several techniques to determine the identity of an unknown
bacterium. Many of these tests involve the differences between Gram positive and Gram negative
bacteria. Gram positive bacteria have a thick peptidoglycan wall while Gram negative bacteria have
a much thinner peptidoglycan wall. This leads to a number of differences in what media each kind
of bacteria can grow on and their physical properties.
Techniques used in this experiment include growth tests on different media, microscopy of a wet
mount, PCR amplification and purification, gel electrophoresis, the catalase test, MSA plates, the
KOH string test, and cycle sequencing. The Oxidase test is another test used to differentiate
between Gram negative bacteria but was not used in this experiment.

Acinetobacter is a non fermenting, Gram negative bacteria. It was found that there have been
some cases of acinetobacter acidifying mannose which mannitol is derived from. The
acidification of the mannitol would result in the phenol red turning yellow. Acinetobacter
baumannii was found to be vancomycin sensitive because it was more porous than Gram
negative bacteria usually are, which could also be the case for Acinetobacter johnsonii. The
KOH string test was not very reliable because false positives and false negatives can occur if the
ratio of KOH to liquid culture of bacteria is incorrect and the string that is formed is very thin
and hard to see. The oxidase test would have been used but the bacteria appeared, for all means
and purposes, to be Gram positive in preliminary findings. The band that was found in the
negative control lane is likely either the result of an issue when loading the wells or as a result of
contamination of the control sample. Acinetobacter johnsonii has been found to grown on PEA
very well because of its stiff

The threads run concurrently, and their order of execution or the interleaving of their
instructions is non deterministic. For each of the following, show how you will modify the
code for thread i using semaphores to achieve the desired execution behavior. Note: For each
semaphore that you use, show where you will add its wait and/or signal operations, and also
specify its initial value. Also Note: You can use pseudocode instead of POSIX/C syntax for your
solution. (a) (6 pts) Have each thread execute its code (both foo and bar) in a mutually exclusive
manner. The order in which the threads execute does not matter. Ans: This is a classical critical
section problem, and we basically need a mutex lock here. Recall that a semaphore with initial
value of 1 can be used identically to a mutex lock (since it allows only 1 thread to be in the
critical section at a time). So the solution is as follows. Declare a global semaphore: semaphore
sem=1; Code for thread i: wait(sem); foo(i); bar(i); signal(sem); (b) (12 pts) Have each thread
execute foo in a mutually exclusive manner, but allow upto 5 of them to execute bar concurrently.
The order in which the threads execute does not matter. Ans: Here, executing foo is again a
classical critical section problem, that can be solved similar to part (a). However, executing bar
allows multiple threads to be in the critical section, and this can be achieved by initializing the
semaphore

Where Am I Wearing Summary
When I first heard the title Where am I Wearing, I wasn t too excited about reading it. I thought
it would be another boring school book that I was required to study. However, after reading a
few chapters, I became intrigued and started to enjoy reading it. Kelsey Timmerman isn t just
another activist who is trying to convince you to stop buying clothes from big companies who
use sweat shops and chid laborers. He is giving you a perspective into the lives of those who work
in these factories and how they function in their everyday lives. It was interesting to hear the
different encounters that he had with these people. Timmerman presents us with the ongoing
concern of are sweatshops and globalization good for the people who live in these countries or do
they do more harm then good? Timmerman sets up visits to factories in countries like Bangladesh,
Cambodia, China, and the United States. As an american consumer, Timmerman is on a mission.
He chooses his favorite articles of clothing and goes to see who and under what conditions they
were made. Along with inspecting the factories, he goes to hang out with the individuals and the
families who work in the factories. He is not just interested in the factories... Show more content on

brings up many important issues in the book but paces them well. Instead of just bringing up a
point and telling us how he feels about it, he tells us the issue and then lets it soak in our minds
for a while, while telling of his experiences before he tells us his opinions. He addressed the issues
from a different perspective. One that someone who hadn t actually

Pakistan Is The Most Misunderstood Country
A country has been ranked second in the list of most negatively rated countries in the world by a
global poll for BBC World Service, which surveyed 24,090 people around the world in 2012. And
that country is Pakistan Land of Pure .
The area of Pakistan is 880,940 square km (340,133 square miles). It is divided into 4 provinces;
Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan along with federally administered areas.
The country shares borders with Afghanistan to the northwest, China to the north, India to the south
and east, and Iran to the west. The border with India is subject to dispute, with both nations
claiming the mountain regions of Kashmir and Jammu.
Pakistan is the most misunderstood country in the world and the phenomenon of terrorism and
religious extremism, arguably, is a leading factor in distorting its image on the global level.
Pakistan as a front line state in the war on terror has suffered the most in men and material, has
helped in dismantling the terrorist network of Osama bin Laden but regrettably our allies and
western countries look suspiciously at our endeavors, doubt our commitment to the cause at hand
and decidedly remain oblivious to our national and strategic interests in the region.
Pakistan is suffering from an acute image problem. No one disagrees not even I. Look at the
reports of terrorism emanating from our soil, splashed all across the global media; Pakistani

What Is The Diction In The Call Of The Wild Call Of The Wild In the classic, Call Of The Wild, by Jack London, Buck, a southland dog from California, is sold off to gold seekers during the Alaskan Gold Rush. It was all well enough in the Southland, under the law of love and fellowship, to respect private property and personal feelings; but in the Northland, under the law of club and fang, whoso took such things into account was a fool, and in so far he observed them he would fail to prosper (London 13). • 5. Franklin D. Roosevelt s Impact On American Society Franklin D. Roosevelt was a radical president compared to the past presidents. He came in with all of these new ideas of change and reform. When Roosevelt was elected, he created a series of reform movements that would deal with the problems in American society. Although many of those reform movements failed, one was successful and still exists today. That movement was the ultimate reform movement called the New Deal. The New Deal is radical considering it provided reforms that included giving the federal government more power, such as: Social Securityand the Fair Labor Standards Acts, and creating precedents that continue to shape American lives today. Roosevelt felt that reform needed to happen in order for America to get back on their feet again. He Alphabet Agencies helped serve the purpose of providing immediate relief to over nine million Americans. Starting by creating the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), which provided employment in government camps for three million men. This led to his Works Progress Administration (WPA) that put $11 million dollars into public building, bridges, and hard surfaced roads, which created millions of new jobs. To people who were used to contacting the government for jobs, this was a huge breakthrough for Roosevelt.¬¬¬ These reforms also led to helping farmers in need (AAA), or homeowners struggling with mortgages (HOLC), or families starving during the winter (CWA). How Did Al Capone Impact Society During the period of prohibition, from 1920 to 1933, the sale, manufacture and transportation of alcohol was made illegal, through the Volstead act of 1919, leading to the first and only time an Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was repealed. Throughout this time in American history gangsters were common and were constantly increasing in every city but one in particular stood out from all the others making a significant impact on American history. Scarface, Alphonse Capone or more commonly known as Al Capone; who was the most infamous gangster, taking advantage of the era of Prohibition, ran an organized crimeassociation in Chicago during the 1920s. He was responsible for over 500 murders; he had 700 men under his control and earned $60 million a year for bootlegging. Capone, who was glamorised in media and shown as charitable to the helpless was also controlling and violent and became an iconic figure of the successful American gangster who insisted he was just supplying the public demand . Volkswagen Dirties It s Hands Nikhil Kanamarla Mrs. Benzing English 1 Period E May 1st, 2016 Volkswagen dirties it s hands in emissions scandal A car is spewing deadly carbon dioxide, forty times more than the car next to you. Piling onto many recent scandals in Europe, Germany s Volkswagen has cheated emissions tests. The scandal has sparked enormous stifle across the world and turmoil in the company. The Volkswagencompany started when Adolf Hitler gave the order to have the small middle class car to be produced. VW produced the Beetle in the 1930s to much of Germany s population. After the end of the third Reich, Volkswagen spread and became a large job creator in Germany as well as an international brand (Morning Edition). Volkswagen prioritization of the European market, led them to bet their future on green tech chips and diesel engines. This is in contrary to the moves of many other car makers, who are pursuing electric cars in the American market. The American market thought of diesel engines as secondary and insignificant (Ziegler). The Environmental Protection Agency s Tier ii emissions standards had high bars for diesel emissions that would be extremely difficult to reach. There was a heavy burden for Volkswagen s engineers to create a quantum leap in the diesel engine in terms of emissions and fuel economy. To cut these emissions Volkswagen would need to use an effective but bulky and expensive system in its cars. However cheating the emissions tests would be fairly easy due to the lack of ... • 10. Analysis Of Toni Morrison s Sula Two young girls, coalescing on a grass laden field while lying on their stomachs, dig a hole in unspoken harmony. A picture of youth and innocence, this scene depicts an innocuous moment which the two girls share as a result of their juvenescence or does it? In Toni Morrison s Sula, this scene, among others, appears at first to be both irrelevant to the novel s underlying theme and out of place with regard to the rest of the plot. Yet, when analyzed further, the literary devices that Morrison uses in these scenes bring readers to a vastly different conclusion. These scenes serve as windows into the mind of Morrison and even into the larger themes present in the text. So, perhaps two girls sharing a seemingly casual experience is not as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like the vasculature of plants shrouded by bark, innocence is shrouded and further internalized as social influence compiles. Thus, Morrison effectively illustrates both the presence of innocence and its inherent definition via careful diction in this scene. Additionally, the scene is illuminating because of the timing in which Morrison introduces the idea of renewed innocence. She chooses to place it directly before one of the most gruesome and chilling events of the novel: the death of Chicken Little. Now, readers could wonder if she is simply juxtaposing two starkly contrasted scenarios for literary effect. But even though the timing could be interpreted solely to as a method of juxtaposition, an ulterior motive becomes apparent when readers inquire why the girls allow Chicken Little to die after illuminating their innocent cores, not before. If the girls had killed Chicken Little before stripping away the bark from the twig, the scene could be perceived as a symbol of internal cleansing and a means of psychologically stripping themselves of guilt. But the scene precedes his drowning, possibly indicating that their ambivalence was catalyzed by their exposed, innocent essence. Morrison portrays such a vastly contradictory portrayal of popularized innocence in an attempt to demonstrate how innocence may not be defined as innocuously as society defines it. However, before stating the another significant element ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eamon De Valera put much effort into the making of the Irish Constitution. In fact he is said to have helped to confirm the stable, constitutional direction of the independent Irish state. The Constitution is often referred to as De Valera s Constitution as it was something that he put so much effort and time into. Chubb has said that at times, De Valera seemed to see Catholicism and Irishness as the one and the same. He uses a reference from De Valera s Patrick s Day broadcast to demonstrate this; Since the coming of St. Patrick, fifteen hundred years ago, Ireland has been a Christian and a Catholic nation. All the ruthless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After reading it, De Valera replied that the majority of the work could not be used in the actual body of the constitution, but perhaps in the preamble. It seems that the committee of Jesuits were worried that Cahill had gone rogue and was adding bits to their suggestions without telling them. As a result of this their report was to be a formal submission qhich would be sent to De Valera as an official presentation from the Irish Province of Jesuits rather than going through Cahill as they had previously been doing. Three intellectuals John McErlean, Joseph Canavan and Edward Coyne were appointed to this project to help Cahill. Fr Coyne said that a constitution should define ...... the rights of the individual..... which he could not surrender to any Government. They looked to the preamble of the Polish constitution for inspiration on the following subjects; the rights of the family (in particular education), religion to be thought in denominational schools (where possible), the state would not be able to dissolve a valid marriage, State relations with the Catholic Church were to be defined by a Concordat, freedom of religious worship, ecclesiastical property, private property, freedom of speech and of the press. • 12. Analysis Of Stone City By Grant Wood Stone City by Grant Wood was created in 1930 by using oil on wood panel. This painting illustrates a lot of visual elements and principles of design which are important components of an artist s work. Visual elements and principles of design help draw the viewer s eyes to certain aspects of the painting and they tell the story of what the artist is trying to convey. This analysis will highlight the visual elements and principles of design that are present in Grant Wood s Stone City. The use of lines in Stone City is one of the key visual elements in this painting. The artist used many contour lines to define the boundaries between the trees and the valley, the river and the land, and even the long roads from the hillsas it winds through the countryside. Wood also incorporated a lot of implied lines into his artwork. The trees and bushes that line the hills create a line of sight which draws the eye of the viewer to the house on the river, which is the focal point of this painting. The lines all move in different directions and help the artist highlight different aspects of the painting. Around the cityand in the foreground of the painting the artist uses a lot of horizontal lines, which gives the town a calm sensation. Through the history, the language especially English has been changed very much. When we see the Shakespeare s sonnet, we can find out that his sonnet is written in early Modern English but that language is not quite different from Modern English. However, when we read the poem which was written in the Old English period, many of us can realize that Old English is very different from the Modern English. When Old English was changed into Middle English, there was an important historical event, the Norman Conquest. Since the leaders of Normans used Old Norman, language which was related to politics, religious began to change. Especially, Norman from France had huge influence in politics and Anglo Saxons had to step down from their status. The generation to feel the recession s effects the worst though was the Millennials, people born from around 1981 to 1997. Many Millennials became unemployed and where scared from this event, causing them to lean heavily on the government for support. Today, Millennials, also known as Generation Y or Echo Boomers, are marked by their increase in the use of social media and other communication devices to stay with the advancing times, however the economic troubles have stayed with them despite the generation s growing use of technology. Millennials have been late to buy houses compared to other generations, and this is due to the Great Recession. Buying a house has many advantages and disadvantages, however buying one later seems to be hurting the Echo Boomers. The benefits of buying a house stretch far beyond simply having a private place to stay; a house has many economic benefits as well. Most things that people buy, like cars or phones, depreciate in value, meaning that the longer a person keeps the item, the more its value will decrease. On the other hand, a house appreciates with time, meaning its value grows as more time passes, making buying a house a sound and smart investment. Even if a person did not want to keep their house, they can typically sell the house for more than they bought it for. Furthermore, houses bring financial stability that many other living arrangements cannot provide for residents. When someone buys a house, he or she normally goes to a bank, takes out a loan, and uses the loan with some of their own cash to ease the burden of their purchase, and afterwards, the person must pay back the loan in amounts called mortgages. These mortgages are regular payments of a fraction of the loan, and the amount does not fluctuate much, allowing the owner to know ahead of time what the next payment will be. Rent payments may shift drastically from one payment to another, and this may surprise the renter if they are not prepared like the homeowner. Also, owning a house give the owner tax deductions, which can further help a person manage their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through the study of Chicana feminism, it becomes apparent how motherhood is a recurring theme throughout much Chicana feminist art and literature, often discussing how these women fostered growth in multiple facets of their being through their general life experience. Perhaps, this is due to the role of a mother weaving the lives of their children, nursing them, guiding them, and creating a life that implements their own values and beliefs. They have the opportunity to create a mirror image or even an entirely new and improved version of themselves. Whether the maternal figure is a hero or villain, traditional or nontraditional, tangible or fictitious, these characters play a vital role in shaping the Chicana feminism we see today. • 27. John Piper Analysis John Piper gives several reasons for why we as Christians believe that the Son became human without ceasing to be God. The first is brought up in verse 14. It states that the Word dwelt among us. So if the Word is God, and the Word dwelt among us, the that means Christ was still one hundred percent Godand also man. This is the reason shown in Matthew 1:23 when the angel states that the child born of a virgin s name will be called Immanuel, which means God with us. When the Word became flesh, it did not cease to be God, the Son s name means that God his here, dwelling among us. The second reason is also in verse 14. It states that We have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father. He goes on to specify what the meaning of as, actually is. Some try to say that as, refers to simply being like or similar to the Son of the Father. However, when it says as, it is saying that it really is the Son. What it means for us as Christians that the Word became flesh cannot be simply boiled down to one single reason. However, it begins with Philippians 2:5 7 when it says, Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count... The scores were Jerqusit 6 wins, Kolwasupigder 5 wins, Dukterin 2 wins, and Sapololo with 0. Whoever gets the most wins by the 14th battle gets the index for 4 years. Dukterin currently holds the index and is not in the mood to give it up. The next battle started in 1 hour. Curzon and I ate the last of my apples in our food bag and were ready. We went up to Rudolf and asked where it started he walked us 3 or 4 miles out from the shack and found a piece of Swiss cheese and said, Right here. He told us to click our watches and suddenly I was in a long dark tunnel. I started sprinting for the end and turned a corner. I see a huge cavity and run in. Instantly, I was barraged with arrows and instinctively hold my shield up to protect myself. I wanted to experiment with my watch. I menacingly through my spear at the red hatted elf and once it made impact I pressed the watch and the spear turned around I caught it. I got the sense my team was green because they were the only color not trying to kill me. I spot an elf wearing all black. I see three red elves charge at him with swords. My boss called me into work on memorial day weekend. I pull in I can t help but to admire the clean landscaping. The bricks leading to the front door lined up orderly like soldiers before their superior. The crimson red and the white divine flowers lay in the middle of the outside dining patio with a rusty cast iron outline pig that was the symbol of the company. • 39. Essay On Mortgage Rate If you re not a financial professional, it may seem like mortgage rates are pretty much arbitrary. One day, they re sitting stable at 3.75%. A month later, they could be 4.375%. Since these rate fluctuations can cost you thousands of dollars over the life of your mortgage, these rate changes can be extremely frustrating for home buyers. That s why it s a good idea to understand the driving forces behind your mortgage rate. It will help you understand when it s a good idea to lock in a rate, or at the very least, help you make sense of your investment. One of the most important factors in determining your mortgage rate is the 10 year bond yield. Simply put, 10 year treasury bonds are financial products offered by the government that offer a low rate of return. This low rate of return is offset by the security of the investment. Investors make very little money on 10 year bonds, but their money is extremely safe.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, bond rates tend to rise in order to create demand for them. Conversely, when investors are afraid of indicators in the financial sector, they turn to safer investments like bonds. Mortgage backed securities are investments packaged by financial institutions for the secondary mortgage market. Investors are able to pay for shares in a bundle of mortgages, and they receive a yield when the mortgages are repaid. These investments tend to be used in a similar fashion as the 10 year treasury bond, and their rates move in tandem. Basically, if the 10 year bond is dropping, mortgage rates tend to do so as well and vice versa. However, the bond rate isn t the only determining factor on your mortgage rate. • 45. Essay On Feral Cat Mitigation Feral Cat Mitigation Efforts: TNR and More With feral cats posing ecological and public health threats, many different techniques, reflecting a range of moral and ethical values, have been proposed and implemented. TNR is considered one of the most humane methods, but other methods that exist include euthanasia, trap and eradication, and more intensive versions of TNR that include vaccinations and rehabilitations. These methods vary in their effectiveness, practicality, cost and social acceptance. Additionally, differences in how people perceive animals and their intrinsic value, have made feral catmitigation efforts an extremely charged topic for animal welfare advocates, policy makers, conservationists and pet owners. When analyzing methods, it s important to evaluate what their goals are in terms of managing feral cat populations, state their ethical and moral perspective, and determine their effectiveness. Additionally, their impact on cat behavior will be explored using evidence from a variety of related studies, which will serve to assist in judging the effectivity of the populationcontrol method. The method for controlling feral cat populations that is focused on in this paper is TNR, which stands for Trap Neuter Release (though, for clarity, the term neuter refers to sterilization of both male and female cats). The common species found range from pure opal to pure quartz whereas others include calcite, dolomite, pyrite, goethite, phosphates (apatite), laumontite, uraninite, sphalerite and organics (Nowak et al., 2005). In coal deposits inundated by sea water (Yossifova et al., 2011), the woods can be permineralized by quartz, plagioclase, muscovite, smectite, kaolinite and nacrite (a typical hydrothermal mineral). Cross polarized light shows that opal CT has very low interference colours, in contrast to the brighter colours typical of chalcedony (Mustoe, 2008). However, polarizing microscope images alone cannot resolve the degree of crystallinity of phases. Democratization Of Latin America And Eastern Europe 1.Despite the democratization movements in Latin America and Eastern Europe in 1980s and 90s, Middle Eastern authoritarian regimes proved to be resilient. Despite the recent Arab Spring protests, most Middle Eastern nations live under authoritarian regimes. How do these authoritarian regimes survive for so long? What are the factors that contribute to their longevity? Most Eastern European countries that were part of the Eastern bloc, after the fall of the Berlin Wall began the transition process started by the changes in social system and started to connect into the European Union. Although some of these states essentially have not changed, however, public discourse is certainly different, the market has been liberalized, and states such as Romania and Bulgaria are even members of the European Union. In the Middle East the situation is totally different. Rulers of the dynasties, kings, in this part of the world ruled for decades and there are no indications that the situation might change. Some of them not even the Arab spring (which was simulated process of social change) has managed to waver. This primarily refers to the rulers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the Emirates. Many of these tests involve the differences between Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. Gram positive bacteria have a thick peptidoglycan wall while Gram negative bacteria have a much thinner peptidoglycan wall. This leads to a number of differences in what media each kind of bacteria can grow on and their physical properties. Techniques used in this experiment include growth tests on different media, microscopy of a wet mount, PCR amplification and purification, gel electrophoresis, the catalase test, MSA plates, the KOH string test, and cycle sequencing. The Oxidase test is another test used to differentiate between Gram negative bacteria but was not used in this experiment. Materials and Methods ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Acinetobacter baumannii was found to be vancomycin sensitive because it was more porous than Gram negative bacteria usually are, which could also be the case for Acinetobacter johnsonii. The KOH string test was not very reliable because false positives and false negatives can occur if the ratio of KOH to liquid culture of bacteria is incorrect and the string that is formed is very thin and hard to see. The oxidase test would have been used but the bacteria appeared, for all means and purposes, to be Gram positive in preliminary findings.
