A SYSTEMATIC STUDY ON SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL IN
SPECIAL REFERENCE: NO POVERTY…
INTRODUCTION…!
• Poverty is one of the major cause which most of the countries right now are facing, specially the developing
countries, in order to reduce this poverty.
• Poverty in India is caused due to various reasons, which are:
 Rate of inflation.
 Redundancy level in Indian economy.
 deficiency of proficient entrepreneurs and capital.
 Social factors affecting poverty.
 edification problem.
• Many poverty alleviation program has been initiated by Indian government
 Wage employment program
 Self-employment program
 Food security program
 Social security program
 Urban poverty alleviation program
Objectives…!
 To study the problem of poverty performance in present scenario, and to analyze the foreseeing
poverty reduction activities in Indian system.
 To study major Flaws leads to non-achievement of No-poverty goal arising in India.
 To study the various methodology being setup by Indian Government.
 Preventive measures to reduce poverty in the Indian System.
From the below diagram it is depicted that India is the third largest country which is having highest level of
poverty with a total percentage of more than 47 percent in the year 2019, and with the report coming from
the Indian Economist, if this continues to be the same then there are chances that India won’t be able to
achieve its target of Sustainable development goal of “No poverty”. And Malawi and South Africa are having
lowest number of poverty level with almost at a level of 10 percent only which is not good for country like
India.
Methodology…!
Diminution in poverty in India
 “Jawahar Gram Samridhi Yojana (JGSY)”
 “National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS)”
 “National Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)”
 “National Maternity Benefit Scheme.”
 “Annapurna.”
 “Integrated Rural Development Program (IRDP)”
 “Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awaas Yojana”
These above five year plan yojana were made by the government for directly benefiting the under privileged or
the unemployed youth which is living below the poverty line, I.e. living below the minimum daily wage standards
of an individual and other individuals which are living below the minimum standards as set by the committee for
describing poverty line.
Methodology…!
 From the paper presented, I would like to conclude that there has been a change in the per day earning for
describing whether person living below or above poverty line, which has put an adverse effect on the economy,
as number of poor have been increased, Report given by NITI-Aayog said that, there has been nothing done
for reducing poverty in Indian economy, moreover poverty has been increased only.
 Tendulkar and Rangarajan committee was set up for describing standards for differentiating poverty in India.
The sustainable development goal increased no poverty situation in the economy, but to a very small impact.
 If India as per the plan to have poverty percentage to be less than 10(percent) then government has to take
sudden and quick measures in contest to poverty alleviation programs and also make policies more favorable
so as to make it widely acceptable by every individual, if this is not done then this sustainable development
goal of no poverty will not be achieved by the end of financial year 2030.
Conclusion…!
