This presentation discusses different types of 2D NMR techniques. 2D NMR provides data plotted with two frequency axes rather than one, and all 2D experiments have four stages: preparation, evolution, mixing, and detection. The main types of 2D NMR discussed are COSY, HMQC, HMBC, and NOESY. 2D NMR provides more information about a molecule's structure than 1D NMR, and is especially useful for determining the structure of more complex molecules like proteins and lactose by providing information about coupling between nuclei. Examples and applications of each technique are provided.
