This presentation discusses different types of 2D NMR techniques. 2D NMR provides data plotted with two frequency axes rather than one, and all 2D experiments have four stages: preparation, evolution, mixing, and detection. The main types of 2D NMR discussed are COSY, HMQC, HMBC, and NOESY. 2D NMR provides more information about a molecule's structure than 1D NMR, and is especially useful for determining the structure of more complex molecules like proteins and lactose by providing information about coupling between nuclei. Examples and applications of each technique are provided.

 Proposed by Jean Jeener in 1971.
Coupled Nuclei are Protons.
It explain Multiple bond Coupling.
It does not jump across breaks in
the spin system. Like Carbonyl
Group which separate one spin
system from another.

HMQC stands for Heteronuclear
multiple Quantum Correlation.
It provide information about
relationship between two different
nuclei coupling.
It shows directly one bond
coupling between Heteronuclei.
It is also know HETCOR and
HSQC.

multiple Bond Correlation.
It gives information about

nuclei.
It shows only 2-4 bond correlation
