3. The use of NME Magazine
When creating my magazine I relied a lot on using
NME to target the correct audience. NME was the
closest I could get to the type of indie magazine I
wanted to achieve. I used the same way that they
used to Color code and lay out the cover. I read a
lot of magazines so I knew how to create the right
amount of columns and separate the question from
the answer. My cover is very similar to that of an
NME cover. The way I incorporate more than one
photo and bring colors from the main image into the
masthead and the cover lines. Also I use quotes as
cover lines to create a more chatty informal front
Page. I also vary the images on the front cover
using a lot of photography from my AS Photography

5. My contents page was very much centered around
NME and they style they have chosen to stick with.
This is the only place in my magazine where I have
taken section for section their ideas and tried to adapt
them into my own personal style. This has turned out
as one of my weaker pages due to the lack of design
experience I have. However the page to page
comparison of NME and my own work is very similar
as you can see on the right hand side.

7. The double page spread has been adapted by the
Nicki Minaj version of the NME double page spread
by the use of linking colors and molding the text
around the image. I can link this back to the
question by saying that it conforms to the real
media products by being similar in both the style
and the formatting of the spread. I read a lot of
magazines so I knew how to create the right
amount of columns and separate the question from
the answer.
