 Government, Apollo Hospitals partner to launch SEHAT
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is collaborating with Apollo Hospitals for its
Social Endeavor for Health and Telemedicine (SEHAT) initiative. Initially, the project will establish 60,000
Common Service Centres (CSC), which will help people to consult doctors through video link and order
generic drugs online. People can visit the CSC and fix a doctor’s appointment, irrespective of geographical
location. The Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) has an existing network of
1.5 lakh CSCs across the country, which will be used by Apollo. The Ministry of Health also plans to extend
its Jan Aushadhi programme trough this network.

 PMHLC launches health exchange portal Zigy.com
PM Health and Life Care (PMHLC) has launched ‘Zigy.com’, a health exchange portal, to connect chemists
and druggists with consumers. Through this service, customers can purchase prescription medicines and
other health-related products, online. Zigy will also provide unlimited storage of patient’s medical records
on the cloud for any time accessing. PMHLC is currently focusing on chronic patients who need regular
intake of medicines. For the delivery of medicines, it is partnering with local chemists and logistics
companies. Initially, the service is being launched in five metros - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and
Hyderabad; it will be extend to 50 cities in 18 months. Going forward, PMHLC aims to raise a series A
round of funding of INR 66 crore to 80 crore.
 Aurobindo Pharma eyes revenue of over INR 19,800 crore
Aurobindo Pharma aims to reach revenue of over INR 19,800 crore by FY2018. It is expanding its offerings
with new drugs to treat cancer and hormonal diseases, besides various nutraceuticals and Over the
Counter (OTC) products. As part of its growth strategy, the company has initiated Research and
Development (R&D) activities to identify and develop synthetic nutraceutical products. It has also
undertaken several initiatives to enhance operational leverage, increase volumes and optimise costs.
Aurobindo has a growing presence in over 150 countries. It reported revenue was about USD 2 billion last
fiscal.
 AYUSH to open hospitals in Andhra Pradesh
The Department of AYUSH in Andhra Pradesh is looking to open hospitals with alternative wellness
centres and medical care facilities. Under the project, it will open 50 bedded hospitals in district
headquarters, 30 bedded hospitals in every revenue division and 10-20 bedded hospitals in mandal
headquarters and temple towns. Apart from this, it will upgrade existing dispensaries, hospitals and
teaching institutions of Ayurveda and Homeopathy. The state government may look for public-private-
partnerships (PPP) to achieve its ends.

 Lybrate joins IMA as digital partner
Mobile healthcare communication and delivery platform Lybrate has joined the Indian Medical
Association (IMA) as a digital partner for one year. Lybrate will educate the 2.5 lakh doctors empanelled
with the IMA on incorporating technology into their practice for effective communication with patients
and greater out reach. It will provide technical training across 30 states and 1,700 branches of the IMA.
Doctors will also be encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences and provide second opinions
to create awareness about the preventive side of medicine. Further, Lybrate will train medical students in
digitising practice, which they can implement immediately, post their studies.
