Unit 5: Nice People around Us Teaching Plan Lesson 1 Class 2B
                                            Duration: 35mins/lesson Venue: 2B Classroom Number of students: 25
Objectives in this lesson:
1. Able to tell the Eng name of the 8 main job types from the unit (i.e. doctor, nurse, fireman, policeman, postman, dentist, bus driver and teacher)
2. Able to match the corresponding duties correctly with each job type (e.g. policeman  catch thieves)

* “Small teacher”: a simple role-playing game, in which a student comes out, acts as the English teacher, and points to the word cards on the blackboard. Other
students should then read out the word cards aloud.

Able to tell the Eng name of the 8 main job types from the unit (i.e. doctor, nurse, fireman, policeman, postman, dentist, bus driver and teacher) 2. Able to match the corresponding duties correctly with each job type (e.g. policeman  catch thieves) Section objective(s) Activities Duration Materials needed Assessment criteria 1 ♦ Learn how to read the 8 ♦ Introduce 8 common job types using 10 mins ♦ Picture-word cards ♦ Students make correct common jobs in English picture-word cards pronunciation of the words ♦ A pointer ♦ Giving Ss clue that our new ♦ Point & read practice unit is about jobs ♦ Game: *Small teacher 2. ♦ Introduce the ♦ Open the Riddle ppt, explain the 15 mins ♦ Riddle PowerPoint (includes ♦ Students provide correct corresponding duties of meaning of ‘riddle’ as a guessing riddles, revision and further answers to each riddle each job type game inspirations) ♦ Create an impression of ♦ Go through the ppt, invite students to each job types and guess the job types according to the corresponding duties with clues the help of pics ♦ Go through the revision slides ♦ Last page of the slide: for more able students only 3 ♦ Worksheet as consolidation ♦ Go through the worksheet once with 10 mins ♦ Worksheet ♦ Students match the answers the students correctly to questions in ♦ Match the corresponding both Part 1 and 2 duties correctly with each ♦ Leave at least half of the blanks alone job type as homework for each part * “Small teacher”: a simple role-playing game, in which a student comes out, acts as the English teacher, and points to the word cards on the blackboard. Other students should then read out the word cards aloud.
