Technology providers erecting closed & proprietary approach to secure
video
Service challenges of protocol + DRM “walled gardens” or silos that
• Increase market fragmentation
• Reduce operator control over video services and subscriber experience
• Limit operators’ vendor flexibility and opportunities
Verimatrix strategy
• Full support for multiple (HLS and DASH) integration models across leading
device categories, including PC/Mac
• Further “embrace” fragmentation within MultiRights solution to free operators
from the complexity of the DRM silos

Editor's Notes

  • #2 Good Morning every one & earlier this morning we witnessed a very good discussion on “TV Everywhere in India” by the esteemed panelists & this was very enlightening, moving on with TV everywhere, I would cover on the importance of “Video Security” & Business trends in such scenarios’.
  • #3  Current Market Dynamics on Video Delivery Network Delivery Mechanisms, Cable Only, Hybrid, Satellite & Pure OTT
  • #4 Multi-screen video service is now a critical aspect of the operators value proposition be it Cable ,DTH or IPTV with customers demanding access to traditional linear & personalized TV content on screens throughout the home. With the reach of mobile & WiFi bandwidth, this makes it a compelling service offering for the operator, not only to sustain & improve ARPU’s ,but be more universally available, enabling the operator’s brand more globally for the consumer on the devices they use most frequently. In making content available anywhere, the necessity for harmonized, robust rights management becomes ever more crucial ,as the common thread of security is interwoven through the assembly of video delivery system & its components. Why does Verimatrix tend to speak about Revenue Security rather than Conditional Access? The key issue here is that we approach security from a business perspective rather than a focus on a single technology. The array of threats to the pay-TV business is evolving as rapidly as the devices that the customers use. So we need to take a multi-dimensional approach to address these threats and ultimately provide a  future proof security strategy focused on enabling new business models and securing revenue streams.
  • #5 Cable or DTH only operator or service being a Multi Network Operator?
  • #7 Hot Starr
  • #11 Verimatrix strategy Full support for multiple (HLS and DASH) integration models across leading device categories, including PC/Mac Further “embrace” fragmentation within MultiRights solution to free operators from the complexity of the DRM silos
