1. This is my Newspaper so far:
I so far have my papers name (the mast head), the photo for the second story, and the
main story in place, I also have put boxes in place where the adverts and titles and such
go.
I feel as though I am not making as much progress as I should, and that my paper is quite
dull and boring; however I hope that once there is more within my paper it will be of a
higher standard. Next I plan to put the stories title in, and start designing the advert and
plug.
I have put the Pizza Express logo where I hope for that advert to go, just to show that that
is where my advert will be.
Next, I created the plug for the top right hand corner. I decided
it needed to be simple, but effective. I created my plug on
Photoshop. I wrote the text that was needed, and found a photo
which I could make into a silhouette; I then cut around it and
made it black. Once I had put the picture on my plug, I decided
it needed a background, and again like my masthead decided it
should gradually get darker from one side to the other, so that it
is not a block colour. I decided orange as it’s quite a bright and
vibrant colour and seems to fit with the plug and the ideas of
festivals.

2. I then created my other advert, for the bottom of my front page. I started by getting the
Pizza Express logo, I then decided that I would need a photo of a pizza, so I searched for
a photo on google, once I had found one, I put it into place. I then wrote the text I needed
for the advert, which I put in the font veranda, as it is quite modern and rounded. I then
decided the background should be quite neutral, so I made it a kind of grey colour, but
again like the other advert/plug and my mast head I made the colour go from white on the
right to gradually go to grey on the right. I then put a border around the advert, the same
blue colour as the Pizza Express logo. I quite like my advert. I believe it is quite
believable as an advert, due to the real logo, and the pizza and professional look of it.
I then placed both my plug and advert into my newspaper. I also
put the headline and secondary headline for my stories in.
Looking at my newspaper so far, I like it however it is not
complete yet, and the main headline is missing a word as the font
is too big to fit it all in, therefore I will have to fix this. Also I
will need to create a date and price to go in between the mast
head and plug.
