Law Updates:
The proposed payments banks, for which the Reserve Bank of India
(RBI) provided licences to 11 companies earlier this week, will change
the country's banking habits. The licence will allow companies to collect
deposits (initially up to Rs 1 lakh per individual), do internet banking,
facilitate money transfers, and sell insurance and mutual funds.
ATM/debit cards can be issued but not credit cards.
A P Shah committee has recommended that foreign institutional
investors (FIIs) shall be granted relief on Minimum Alternate Tax
(MAT) for the period before April 1, 2015.
Addressing a meeting on Competition Law organised by Bangalore
Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) in association with
Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan as knowledge partners, Bunker stressed
that Board Members/ CEOs have the responsibility to create
compliance culture within their organisations otherwise there is a
chance of these organisations getting on the wrong side of competition
laws and landing up with huge penalties.

A Mechanical Engineering Graduate of the 1982-86 batch of Annamalai University, Sriram has a passion for

the chief visionary and architect behind the growth of Integra, Sriram conceptualized and implemented operations to
realize Integra’s vision, by building an organizational culture that is recognized worldwide for delivering innovative
and high quality services to global Publishing Companies.
After completing BE mechanical engineering from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, and gaining the required
exposure by working for nine years with three companies in Bangalore, Chennai and Puducherry, he initiated this
company in 1994 with his wife Anu and a five-member team right from his home. Later he moved to a 14 different
buildings in Jawahar Nagar and finally to the company’s own building in 2006 on a 70,000 square feet land on East
Coast Road near Pakkamudiyanpet. In fact he started the company at a time when youngsters were flying off to USA
for lucrative jobs — he was determined to succeed as an entrepreneur.Integra has witnessed a compound annual
growth rate of 28 per cent for the past four years. It has also acquired two companies in USA and also launched its UK
subsidiary. Integra also offers editorial development, new media services (e-learning) and language polishing. The
company has handled over 1.25 million typeset pages so far. Employee strength has crossed 1,300. Integra is probably
the biggest employment provider in Puducherry. Women constitute 60 per cent of the staff.
Sriram has just ventured into the business of fresh, organic, fruits and vegetables, sorted and packed, under the brand
name of ‘Farmerie’. The brand addresses the needs of the consumers seeking safe food and also provides sustainable
livelihood for farmers. Also on the cards, is the launch of natural, traditional, organic and wellness food products, the
R&D for which is underway.
