2. Abstract- In studying CSR, it broadened my knowledge and made me get to know more essential things
about organizations has to do in order to win the society in which it is operating. The study of CSR has
made it known to me that organizations stands to gain more publicity since their products would be
accepted and made to the outside world by their societies. Nearly all leading organizations in India are
involved in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in areas like Education, Health,
Livelihood, Skill development, and Empowerment of weaker sections of the society. Notable efforts
have come from the Tata Group, Infosys, Bharti Enterprises, ITC Welcome group and Indian Oil
Corporation among others. Organizations must realize that government alone will not be able to get
success in its endeavor to uplift the downtrodden of society.
