This document discusses different approaches to learning design. It outlines several learning design approaches, including using activities to stimulate student interest, sequencing materials to tell a story, encouraging collaboration, developing conceptual understanding through activities like hypothesis testing, using resources to solve real-world problems, authoring projects, role-playing empathy activities, independent research, exploring composition and aesthetics, and using clips as analogies. The overall focus is on concentrating on learning opportunities and encouraging a variety of approaches rather than a purely subject focus.

Portfolio development workshop series 2013 workshop iii 18062013Rita Ndagire Kizito
This is the third in a series of portfolio development workshops at the University of the Western Cape (UWC). We focus on making sure that the teacher/lecture gathers appropriate evidence and makes sure the evidence collected corresponds to the philosophy statement and portfolio outlines.
THE COMPASS: Route to Academic English
Navigating the rough patches in the academic landscape is a tough experience... All you need to survive is... “THE COMPASS”!
This is the presentation that was delivered to the Viewpoints team at the first 'data day' - its aims were to show the immediate team the current stage of development and to discuss the data implications of the user interface and user choices.
