How old are
you?

From this graph we can learn that 7 out
of the 10 people that filled in the
questionnaire were between 12 and 15.
Nobody that filled in the questionnaire
was between the ages of 22 and 25 and
over 26. With this information we can
learn that our target market is going to
be teenagers and young adults. This is
beneficial because we can now plan how
we’re going to make this film appealing
to our target audience.

The bar chart shows evidence that the
majority of people that filled out the
questionnaire were male and only 2 of
the people was females. This is useful
for our product because we can now
decide what sex to aim our film to.

This graph suggests that the majority of
people would prefer the sport/comedy
film to be a 12. This could infer that people
don’t think strong language/ violence is
needed to make films funnier. We will
ensure that we will meet the 12
certification. We will achieve this by using
fairly strong language but it will be
infrequent. Aggressive strong language
maybe considered too much for this
certification so it’s more likely to be a 15.

What sound
affects do you
prefer?

The most popular choice was Goal
which is a sports film. The inbetweeners
movie which is a comedy film is the
joint second most popular. This shows
evidence of people like the
sport/comedy genre. With this
information we can understand that
the majority of people though that goal
which is a sports film, was the most
enjoyable. We can learn things from
goal and implement it in our work.

The graph tells us that the most popular
sound affect is ‘in game’. This could be
because it would make the film sound more
realistic. The uses and gratification theory is
applied here because the audience will want
to watch this film for
entertainment/escapism. The least popular
was water movement which isn’t surprising
because it wouldn’t fit the identity of our
film. We will incorporate this into our film
particularly when it’s the opening scene of
the match. This will make our film more
realistic. The in game sound will relate to
Barthes enigma code. The crowd’s
atmosphere can suggest what’s going to
happen in the movie and if there is going to
be a twist.

Would you like the
characters to directly
address the audience?
2

yes

A variety of camera angles were
chosen. However, the two most
common were the two shot and
wide shot which would be useful
for our film because we need to
fit a whole football pitch in the
frame. We will use the high angle
shot to connote weakness. We
will use the close-up shot on the
manager, Terry Tibbs to show his
reaction to the game. The long
shot can also be used to fit in the
playing action.
In this graph eight people out of
ten said they would like
characters to not direct the
audience, which shows that it
would be better if we made our
characters not to direct the
audience in the film. To achieve
this we won’t make the characters
speak directly into the camera.

Fewer than half the people said
that we should use a football
chant for our soundtrack. This
would be suitable because it
reinforces the genre to the
audience.

This pie chart suggests that people
are attracted to films because of
the actors/ actresses that feature in
the films. We also know that
people don’t watch films because
of the institute or director. The
dyers star theory can be applied
here because the audience may
only watch the film based on what
characters are in it. This
information is beneficial for us
because we know that we have to
get our characters to connect with
the audience.
This pie chart suggests that kick
and hope is the most popular
name. We can take this into
consideration when choosing our
film title. 90 minutes was the least
popular so we definitely won’t be
using that as our film title.
