The document argues that technology is evil for several reasons: it promotes laziness, over-reliance on technology is harmful, and some inventions have dangerous unintended consequences. It also claims that technology negatively impacts health, privacy, youth, and wastes time. Examples are given of how devices like home entertainment systems, online services, and GPS enable indolence and reliance on technology over physical activity or human interaction. The privacy of personal information and data is increasingly at risk due to internet use and monitoring devices/practices. Too much technology is believed to contribute to issues like obesity, depression, and stress among youth.
Technology is an interesting thing that scientis create to complete our necesity and wants. We use technology in everything that we in this moment for example: study, work or clean.
DODAggregator software, a hosted daily deal aggregate platform. The software, which will be launched from DODAggregator, is a daily deal aggregate platform designed to let individuals create their own daily deal hub that showcases deals from across the expanding number of daily deal and group buying websites. This new software allows easy entry into the already famous model of group buying and daily deal services without any prior technical knowledge.
The developments in technology as without it we wouldn’t be here.
Even if you think back to a decade ago, technology has radically changed. We now all carry around smart phones in our pockets that have instant access to the internet, cameras, calculators, and pretty much any piece of technology we might need on-the-go. In the past, we didn't have it so simple, even though we thought we were innovative at the time. My, how everything has changed.
In this Presentation we see

6. How much is too much?
Can you go one week without video games?
Can you go one week without your MySpace or Facebook?
Can you go one week without internet?
7. Lately I have been reflecting on the fact that we as a society sometimes
depend upon technology a little too much. Technology has made our
lives so much easier and more simple, but I fear that it has also
paralyzed the way our generation thinks and behaves.
8. Effects on our Youth
Our generation has come out
with all of these new
technologies such as the Wii,
Playstation, and Xbox.
These technologies may be fun
but they have caused young
kids to start depending on
technology at an early age.
Instead of doing their
homework, chores, spending
time with their family, or playing
sports most choose video
games as their main priority.
9. Even though you might not
realize it, technology has taken
away relationships and the
business world.
“People used to always call
meetings, or have business
lunches, sometimes a quick e-
mail is all you’ll receive from a
superior,” (Heather).
Our generation is now more
likely to send an e-mail or a
text to family members and
friends rather than picking up
the phone and actually talking
to them.
10. Here are some side effects of technology
on youth:
Obesity
Depression
Poor Sleep Habits
Lack of Privacy
Stress
Addiction
Loss of Hearing and Eyesight
Separation
11. Invasion of privacy
The internet has overcome the world of privacy. Long gone are the days of having
an unlisted telephone number and staying offline to keep your information safe
from prying eyes. With a few flicks on a keyboard the average person can find
anyone’s address and contact information.
For those with more sinister intentions, the use of phishing, viruses and hacking
helps to find any information they wish to obtain.
People have no sense of privacy online. They don’t think twice about tweeting
every move they make, freely giving out their location on Google Map and putting
their entire life story on Facebook and giving their credit card numbers.
12. Here are few examples of devices or practices
that are monitoring are every move and
thought:
1. Electric meters
2. Telematic devices on cars
3. Smartphones
4. RFID chips in drivers’ licenses, credit cards and other cards that allow the
tracking of individuals
5. Data mining by local and federal government
6. Voice recognition. Russian scientists have invented software called Voice
Grid Nation that can identify the voices of millions of different people
7. Fingerprint recognition
8. Chips that monitor your body functions
9. Behavior monitoring software
10. Next Generation surveillance systems such as Trapwire and Intellistreet
