Is the Internet Increasing Oured Intelligence?
Internet is a short term for internetworking. Telecommunication has evolved over ages. In the twenty first century, the internet has emerged as a result of digital revolution. Internet has led to limitless information sharing which has revolutionized our society. There has been tremendous changes from individual person’s lives to business operations. Internet has brought huge benefits and evils into our lives. Internet has affected every aspect of our lives from academic, social, and business. With fast internet connections, communication has been made very much easier than ever before. However as people rely more on internet, negative effects are now being seen. These negative effects brought by internet has affected individuals, societies, cultures and economic development.
Positive effects of internet
Easy information retrieval
Internet search engines has made easy search of information. It has replaced physical libraries and the old library system. In the past, when one needed some crucial information, one would visit a library building and , check the catalogue to direct him to a certain book. After getting the book one would read through numerous pages just to get some few information. Getting another source of related information will would be another difficult task. Nowadays when someone needs some information he just needs to have a computer, tablet, internet enabled phone or any other internet access device and internet connection. By typing the information you need in the search engine you will receive a million sources of the information. These sources range from publications, research papers, journals, e-books, articles, and posted opinions. The information from internet range from old to new up to date information, which would have otherwise be unavailable in library.
Easy and fast communication
Internet is a result of advancement of telecommunication. Telecommunication has come of age. In the past people used to communicate on slow and unreliable telegrams. Later advancement gave birth to the telephone booth system, which uses electric cables to send signals. This system was also slower and unreliable because communication is only done in the telephone booth. Emails and cellphone systems later took the telecommunication to the next level. Nowadays, telecommunication has been made even easier. The emergence of internet based social sites has made interactions of people easier than one would have ever imagined. Facebook, Ttwitter, Iinstagram, and more others are now being used to disseminate information to huge a large number of people. Individual interaction such as chatting, posting a comment or photos, is now instantly possible. Businesses are also employing these s.

Impact of Recent Technological Innovations on Society
Technology has impacted society in both positive and negative ways. Its emergence and development have been quick, and it is still expanding in our lives. It has influenced all spheres of life, ranging from social, economic to political, and legal sectors. Technologically emerging countries have weak economies. Project actualization times are cut by half due to the application of technology. Technology has impacted many fields such as in medicine, education, communication, genetics, environment, among other areas. It has, for instance, helped in the development of drugs and treatments of diseases such as cancer. It has also helped in curbing of crimes. A lot of people do not realize the negative impact, and its advancement has led to she changes in people's lifestyle. Technology has changed the mode of interaction in families. It as also led resulted in ethical issues such as in the medical field. This paper explores the positive impact of internet technology.
The internet is a system of computers which are interconnected and communicating through protocols such as TCP or IP via various media types. It has immensely impacted society in positive ways. First, education and research have been made easier. The creation of websites and databases has enabled access to information online to be possible. For instance, the google search engine is fed with algorithms that allow one to search for knowledge and get it within seconds or microseconds. The results are arranged in the order of their relevance. Sorting of the information in the order of significance makes research easier. Indeed, research has been facilitated by the availability of information online in the form of journals, online college libraries, online magazines, and E-books. E-books are just the PDF versions of the hardcopy ones. Before the advent of the internet, the research involved going to the libraries and spending hours getting information that is specific to the topic of study. Examples of online journals and websites include Science Direct Journal, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, among many others. On the same note, the internet has led to the emergence of online discussion forums such as Flip grid and Nearpod. The forums provide an avenue for teacher and students interactions. Students who participate actively by writing new topics and commenting on the pots of other students and teachers benefit highly from the forums (Alzahrani 165).
Thirdly, the internet has revolutionized the communication industry. The Internet plays a significant role in the communication industry. It facilitates the sending and receiving of electronic messages. Social media applications such as WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram enables people to communicate from any corner of the globe. People can send emails by use of, for instance, Gmail. Social media sites connect an astonishingly large number of people. For example, Facebook, the m ...

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

2. What is Internet? The Internet, sometimes called simply "the Net," is a worldwide system of computer networks - a network of networks in which users at any one computer can, if they have permission, get information from any other computer (and sometimes talk directly to users at other computers).
3. E Mail For many Internet users, electronic mail (e-mail) has practically replaced the Postal Service for short written transactions. Electronic mail is the most widely used application on the Net. You can also carry on live "conversations" with other computer users, using Internet Relay Chat (IRC). More recently, Internet telephony hardware and software allows real-time voice conversations

15. The importance of the Internet The Internet plays a big role in the lives of adults and teenagers alike. The importance of the Internet in a teenager's life increases with every day that goes by. Teenagers are starting to use the Internet in a myriad of ways, which range from doing schoolwork to transporting themselves halfway around the world. As long as the need for getting quick, in-depth information is still there, the need for the Internet will also be strong.
NARRATIVE: Today I am going to introduce you to the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Children and Adolescents and discuss how schools, in partnership with families and communities, can help promote youth physical activity. NOTE TO FACILITATOR: Insert your name, school district, the name of your organization or group you represent, and the date of presentation in the text box. You can also remove this text box.
NARRATIVE: By the end of this presentation you will be able to Identify the benefits of regular physical activity among youth. Describe the key physical activity guidelines for children and adolescents. Describe the role of schools, in partnership with families and communities, in promoting physical activity among children and adolescents.
Presenter Notes: -Ask what they know about exercise -Ask why we need exercise -Ask what they want to learn today
Presenter Notes: - These are examples of what is considered exercises: Running.
Presenter Notes: - These are examples of what is considered exercises: Sports/Games
Presenter Notes:
NARRATIVE: Physical activity is a bodily movement that uses energy to contract muscles. ( NOTE TO FACILITATOR: Provide a visual demonstration to the audience by moving your arms or legs.) NARRATIVE, CONTINUED: Physical activity can be structured, like playing on a basketball team, or unstructured, like playing tag outside or riding bikes. Physical activity can also be part of everyday activities such as taking the dog for a walk or sweeping the floor. There are many health benefits associated with regular physical activity. Physically active youth have higher levels of cardiovascular fitness compared with youth who are inactive. Physical activity helps to build and maintain stronger bones and muscles. Many of the risk factors for chronic diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, and type 2 diabetes, begin to develop early in life. Regular physical activity reduces the risk of developing these risk factors and of becoming obese. Regular physical activity also reduces the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Research shows that physical activity among adolescents can positively affect their concentration, memory and classroom behavior. Establishing regular physical activity early in life makes it more likely that children will remain healthy as adults.
NARRATIVE: What does all of this actually mean? The key points to remember are that children and adolescents should do At least 60 minutes of physical activity every day ; and Most of the 60 minutes should be spent doing aerobic activities. It is very important that children and adolescents participate in a variety of activities, especially activities that they enjoy. This enhances skill development, reduces the risk of overuse injuries and increases the likelihood of continuing to be active as they get older. It is also important to know that the Guidelines take into consideration the natural activity patterns of children. Children often move between short bursts of activity and short periods of rest. All episodes of moderate- or vigorous-intensity activities count towards the daily requirement. Unstructured active play can provide all 3 types of physical activity.
NARRATIVE: There are many barriers that make it difficult for young people to meet the physical activity guidelines. Young people may not believe that physical activity is important for a healthy lifestyle or feel that they have the ability to perform a physical activity. Lack of support from family and friends also can prevent youth from meeting the guidelines. Environmental factors that make it difficult to participate in physical activity include low availability of safe locations to be active and physical activity equipment, costs of physical activities, and time constraints.
