Elephants Vs Sparkle Paper
Advertisements share one common goal, that is to draw to people s attention. In order to
accomplish this goal, advertisements contain a headline, visual, and layout. For instance,
advertisements such as Sparkle creatively and thoughtfully uses the tactics above to convince
people to purchase Sparkle paper towels. The first thing that people see in the advertisement of
Sparkle Thirst Pockets paper towels is the headline. The headline is highly visible, because it is
printed in bold letters. Besides the boldness of the letters, people are easily drawn to this
advertisement, because the headline asks, What s the difference between elephants and Sparkle
paper towels? An obvious question like this targets a wide audience and makes it unlikely for
people to ignore the advertisement. The response to this question is, Both can soak up spills, but
only one can fit in your kitchen. This response triggers human and possibly getting people to think
about how sturdy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The visuals that appear in the advertisement is an elephant, package of paper towels, and the
texture of the paper towels. The elephant in the advertisement allows viewers to relate the image
to the headline. The elephant s eyes attract viewers and its facial expression evokes a joyful and
warm feeling. With its trunk the elephant is holding a package of paper towels. The motive
behind the elephant holding the paper towels is so readers can compare how an elephants easily
eats and drinks using his trunk to how the paper towels can effectively grab food or soak up
spills.******** The background of the advertisement also serves as a visual. People are able to see
how the paper towels look like instead of imagining them. The backgrounds overall visually
communicates what the advertisement is all about, eliminating any confusion people may have.
The images that are portrayed capture people s attention and stimulate interest, helping to sell the

The Aspects Of Ias 17
IAS 17 Leases prescribes the accounting policies and discloses applicable to leases, both for
lessees and lessors (Deloitte, 2015:1). All leases are either classified as a finance lease or an
operating lease, with the main difference being the information that is required to be recorded on
the balance sheet. As some information is then off balance sheet, this can cause conflict with the
objective of financial statements. As the objectives are set to provide financial information about
the entity to existing and potential investors, lenders and creditors, without this information it is
hard for them to see the true value of the company (ACCA, 2011). This essay will discuss the
aspects of IAS 17 in detail while approaching conflicts that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, the article by Milano (2012) also describes how operating leases can be an efficient
and flexible way of leasing to many businesses. Leasing can be an advantage to a lot of
successful companies if managed accurately. The lessee has a choice in the portion of the life of
the asset they lease, meaning when that contract is up they can refresh the asset with a newer
version which can lead to improved performance and reliability (Milano, 2012). These advantages
can be received by both financing and operating leases, although the downfall of the operating
lease is that the liability of the full cost of the asset is not recorded in their balance sheet, instead
only the smaller cost of the annual expense is included. This could mean that an investor or owner
taking on a company may not realise the large amount of expense that occurs from leasing an asset
as the total liability cannot be seen.
Enron is a well known example of a company that has run into trouble as a result of concealing
large amounts of debt from the company accounts (BBC, 2002). The company grew dramatically
very quickly in the US, and then the success turned out to be as a result of their scam, the
company ended up being the biggest business bankruptcy ever (Forbes, 2013). The Enron scandal
has resulted in many other companies being investigated for the same offences. Barclays bank are
an example of this as they struck an unusual deal

The Next Phase Of Ending The Cold War Essay
The Next Phase in Ending the Cold War
The date is October 27, 1962, and it is a brisk fall day in Michigan. Normally, I could hear
children playing outside of my office window but not today. Today, all that I can hear is wind
passing through the city and the feeling of despair resonates throughout the populace. The
blockade went up two days ago and I want to believe that it will be enough to subdue the
U.S.S.R. forces but I am unsure if the blockade will hold. President Kennedy is entirely against
using first strike measures because he does not want to enter another unnecessary war, however
most citizens have lived in a state of panic and distress. The citizens believe that the strikes would
be bad, but they would end the restlessness that can be felt even in the smallest of children. The
biggest conversation politically is that President Kennedy is not fit to be president of the United
States of America, due to his age and the recent failure, The Bay of Pigs .
Conflict between Cuba, U.S.S.R, and the United States present two conclusions: These nations
begin a nuclear war with few to none survivors or these nations do not participate in a nuclear
war and everyone lives. I have been tasked with dealing with two scenarios: The first scenario is
if we decided to strike Cuba, what does the day after look like. The second scenario is that if we
wait and the United States is hit with a nuclear weapon from Cuba, what does October 28, 1962,
look like for an average American.

Cultural Differences Between Race And Ethnicity
First, race and ethnicity are defined as different concepts, the first being biological and the second
cultural. The key point to understand both concepts separately are the social labels used by a
society, to classify its members biologically and culturally. While race is based on the popular
perception of people s physical traits, ethnicity separates them by cultural characteristics.
Members of a group share the same language, accent, religion, history, and even national origin.
Most of the time, ethnicity is something that is obtained through learning, under the form and
lifestyle, among others. Although each individual at a given time can seek a new ethnicity, every
individual is born belonging to a particular ethnic group.
Some examples ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ethnic origin, on the other hand, is determined by the social and cultural groups to which it
belongs. One can have more of an ethnic background, but only one race, even if it is mixed.
Contrary to ethnic groups, of which there are thousands or more, there are only a few racial groups.
Another difference between race and ethnicity is related to the ability to identify oneself. A person
cannot choose his race; this is assigned to him based on his physical characteristics. However one
can choose ethnicity. A person can learn a certain language, social norms, and customs, in addition
to assimilating a culture and being part of that ethnic group.
Ethnicity is a requirement of identity on the part of the people since there are identification and
feeling of belonging to an ethnic group but at the same time a feeling of exclusion from other
groups due to this affiliation. The great problem of ethnic differences is that throughout the history
of mankind there have been constant persecutions towards minorities even though there are no
physical differences among the population. As an example, we have the case of the Jews in World
War II.
One similarity between race and ethnicity is that both are a social

The Communist Manifesto By Sigmund Freud
Sigmund Freud, was a neurologist that mainly focused on psychoanalytical theories for psychology.
His most famous research was done during the late 19th and early 20th century, in which during this
time he wrote one of his most famous works Civilization and Its Discontents. In this book of his,
Freud manages to draw on many Enlightenment ideals and challenges some of these notions
through his theoretical analysis on the subconscious mind. In this book of his, Freud proposes that
individual s minds are divided into three distinct parts comprised of the ego, super ego, and the id.
In his analysis on these three parts of the mind, Freud encourageous individuals to regard their mind

In this paper of his, Marx tackles many Enlightenment ideals but also challenges many with his
analysis on class struggle (bourgeoisie vs. working class), capitalism, and the development of
society as a result of these struggles. Marx s main proposal in The Communist Manifesto is that of
historical materialism , which is basically self divided into two parts: historically and materialistic.
Historically, Marx defines history as a change from the past to present in which the present relies
on analysis of the past to ensure progress. Furthermore, Marx regards that relations in the past have
continually been subject to historical change consequent upon the change in historical conditions
.7 The analysis of the past is consequent with the present as it is dependent with progress. Without
analyzing the past, Marx is stating that society in general will not learn from the class struggles
that so aptly occupied society during that time. The materialistic aspect of this, is prominent
through Marx s explanation that the economy of a society does not necessarily lead to distress
and chaos in society, furthermore the economy of a society is not to blame. In many ways Marx
says that following every historical period, the prevailing mode of economic production and
exchange, and the social organization necessarily following from it, form the basis upon which it is
built up [...] .8

The 2011 National Football League Collective Bargaining Agreement is the seventh agreement
since the establishment of the first CBA in 1968. It is important to understand the terms of the
CBA and the intent in which it was established. Collective bargaining agreements, in the context
of professional sports, are the agreements reached between a particular league s players and the
league owners. A league s collective bargaining agreement establishes specific elements of how the
league will operate, such as: division of league revenues, team salary caps, free agency
requirements, restrictions on player mobility, provisions regarding the drafting of players,
disciplinary rules, and other general regulations of the league (Cit 3). Recently, the

personal reasons related to his family and because of the difference in cost of living (SC vs NY

they did feel he was a fit for another job and offered it to him. Sean accepted the position.

Bitter Seeds Sociology
In the film Bitter Seeds, Dr. Shiva attempts to convey the consequences of globalization on the
residents of Monsanto and the use of GM crops, specifically the anthropological focus on the
movement of money and ideas. With the introduction of globalization to the populations that heavy

dependence on money forced the idea of procuring money by any means necessary, via borrowing

Not only with the lack of education that could help the residents see the chemical effects of
grooming GM crops and prevent it from harming their bodies, but also in conjunction with the
mental pressure to secure money, it leads to sickness of the mind and the thoughts of ending
their own lives. These two concepts explains the limited social mobility of the people in
Monsanto, where many residents face extremely difficult obstacle to move to a higher social
class. Despite the drive of obtaining money from globalization, which should help residents move
up the social ladder, the high mortality rate instead reverse the effect of globalization, changing
the opportunity of making money to being in debt from borrowing money and losing property.
This leads the residents, despite moving to a higher social position, digress and possibility shift
lower on the social ladder. To further limit social mobility, several aspects of perceived
neoliberalism, which should give the farmers the options to choose how to farm, affected the

meant that many farms and agricultural industries could not afford the chemicals required so
traditional methods were used to maintain the soil, the fact that the Dominican Republic is an

The second factor adding to the prosperity of the industry was the jump the Dominican Republic

Hemophilia describes a group of sever congenital coagulation factor deficiencies. It is a lifelong
genetic disorder with a prevalence of 1:10,000 birth and that of the most severe form of the

coagulant factor VIII or IX in blood, hemophilia may be labeled as severe ( 1% of normal),
moderate (1 4%) or mild (5 25%) (2) . hemophilia is characterized by recurrent haemarthroses
inside the less muscular padding joints as knees, elbows and ankles joints (3).
Because immature cartilage is even more susceptible to spontaneous bleeding, most of hemophilic
children experience repeated episodes of hemorrhage into their joints (4). Intra articular bleeding of
synovial joints has a direct destructive effect on cartilage which triggers the joint degenerative

The s Argument That The Holocaust Is Only Available...
Miller, like Glowacka, understands that literature, even fiction, transmits ideas and emotions to the
reader which are central to comprehending and learning from traumatic experiences. Miller
references Susan Suleiman s argument that the Holocaust is only available through representation .
Suleiman made this argument in response to Holocaust deniers who claim that fictitious memoirs
confirm the inexistence of the Holocaust. However, the point supports the idea that art, including
literature, allows the public to experience something like the Holocaust that otherwise would be not
be available to experience.
On the other hand, Miller successfully argues that fake memoirs are meant to highlight the
problematic nature of authenticity and capitalism has changed the idea of what we think is real and
what is not. By citing Baudrillard, Miller states that our idea of real is only a series of
representations that we think are real. In fact, all our ideas of reality are fabrications because
memory is not factual. The discovery of these fake memoirs can cause society to realize that all
memoirs are, in fact, fabrications. With that in mind, this article contradicts the idea that the public
can understand trauma through experiencing art. Overall, Stylised Configurations of Trauma
contributes to the art, trauma, and memory theme through proving that the study of fraudulent
memoirs can help explain the strange expectation that literature is able to provide access to
something

What Does Integrity Mean To Me
As described by Merriam Webster dictionary:
1.Integrity
a.The quality of being honest and fair
b.The state of being complete or whole
2.Professionalism
a.The skill, good judgment, and polite behavior that is expected from a person who is trained to do

What integrity means to me? Integrity is being honest and fair along with being complete or

I Attended University Dance Theatre
I attended University Dance Theatre over the weekend, and after just recently becoming interested
in dance and appreciating dance as an art form I was excited to watch a live dance performance.
There were a total of nine dances, each of which, were choreographed by different people. Not
surprisingly, every dancewas extremely different, and left the audience feeling different emotions.
It was hard picking two dances that I enjoyed the most because they were all fantastic. I picked two
that were simple, in the sense that anyone could determine the reason behind the dance. The first is
powerful, and the second is humorous. It was interesting breaking down the dances, determining the
choreographic and theatrical elements, and concluding the meaning of the dance if any. My
expectations were high going in, and I was not disappointed. Beginning with the powerful dance in
the first half Still?. Still? was preformed by two African American women. I found this dance
interesting because the music was spoken text by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the beginning and
towards the end was poetry that was spoken with strong emotion. The stage lighting was turned
down, almost completely dark, and the two women had dark clothing, which, indicated sorrow,
frustration, and anger almost. The dancers only used a small portion of the stage with no props
and a completely bare stage the focus was directed to the two dancers.
The women had relatively low to medium, sharp movements in some parts

The core of this framework has five basic functions as it relates to cybersecurity: identify, protect,
detect, respond, and recover (Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity). With
regard to required compliance versus voluntary security, compliance with regulations does not
ensure security. The BES consists of both generation and transmission assets and devices, but does
not include system distribution. There are also potential risks associated with the technologies and
operations of the distribution system though, so the distribution system must be included in the
cybersecurity discussion. One such distribution security risk involves the increasing popularity of
smart meters and the fact that there are no cybersecurity regulations associated with them. Of all the
BES components, cyberattacks on transmission assets and devices pose the greatest risk to public
safety due to a greater potential impact than attacks on other types of BES components. For
example, the knockout of a transmission substation that is only the connection between multiple
power lines, would have a higher

Interview
The interview was arranged the day we met at the temple. I noticed that there were to many
Sikhs around, so I decided to have the interview schedule to another day. Also, the day we were
at the temple, he encouraged us to eat lunch. And, to my surprised he then vanished. I never saw
him again that day. I didn t see him eating lunch with the other men. So, I supposed he left back
to work. I believe that he could have at least said something like you are more than welcome to
stay and finish eating lunch because I have to go back to work. Regardless, of what happen that
day, I knew where to find him to complete the interview, so I was not worried. However, I was
more confused about how little communication there is between guests and the Sikh believers.

Shortly after the revolutionary war, the small town of Pittsborough, then renamed Pittsburgh began
to develop into a very important center, specializing in trading and industry. The convenience of
natural resources and technological advancement has ranked Pittsburgh as one of the leading
industrial cities in the United States in the past. Historically, the city of Pittsburgh has created
numerous manufacturing plants responsible for producing steel, iron, and other products for the
U.S. economy that still exist today. The Encyclopedia Britannica explains Pittsburgh s economic
might during this period:
Pittsburgh s strategic location and wealth of natural resources spurred its commercial and industrial
growth in the 19th century. A blast furnace, erected by George Anschutz in 1792, was the
forerunner of the iron and steel industry that for more than a century was the city s economic
mainstay; by 1850 it was known as the Iron City. The Pennsylvania Canal and the Portage Railroad,
both completed in 1834, opened vital markets for trade and shipping. After the American Civil War,
great numbers of European immigrants swelled Pittsburgh s population, and industrial magnates
such as Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick, and Thomas Mellon built their steel empires there.
The city became the focus of historic friction between labor and management, and the American
Federation of Labor was born there in 1881.

In 1969, Novo Nordisk, which had been produced poor quality detergent, had a serious issue about
the safety of the customer. Generally speaking, a company s reputation which has significant
influence over a profit is much more important than an amount of money that a company needs to
spend on cleaning up pollution. Despite being at a competitive disadvantage, the company has
decided that it is better to disclose environmental reporting to be more transparent on social. In

Eccles; Michael P. Krzus (2013). The company, which used indicator, 2004 data, expected that
carbon emission would be dropped dramatically by 10% in the next 10 years. Even though the
report represented that greenhouse gas emission in Diabetes cares in 2013 as compared to 2010
increased by 30,000 tons (from 95,000 tons to 125,000 tons), the amount of emission decreased
of 42% in comparison to 2004. In spite of accelerating rates of sales growth in Diabetes care over
10 years, Novo Nordisk could imitate the environmental issue and achieve its main objective for
reducing the amount of carbon emission about 10%. In 2012, it was expected that energy
consumption stood at 6% in 2013. After being analyzed, it can be seen that there was a 6% rise in
energy consumption, which increased from 2,433 gigajoules in 2012 to 2,572 gigajoules in 2013.
Assessing the performance of Novo Nordisk in 2013 and 2014, net sales increased slightly by 6%
but the amount of carbon emission dropped by 4% from 125,000 tons to 120,000 tons because of
reducing system power consumption and having changed the filling plant which become more
environmentally friendly methods. It is clear to say that both carbon emission and energy
efficiency met its common target which was slightly better than in 2013.

The domesticated generations fell from him. In vague ways he remembered back to the youth of
the breed, to the time the wild dogs ranged in packs through the primeval forest and killed their
meat as they ran it down. It was no task for him to learn to fight with cut and slash and the quick
wolf snap. In this manner had fought forgotten ancestors. They quickened the old life within him,
and the old tricks which they had stamped into the heredity of the breed were his tricks. They
came to him without effort or discovery, as though they had been his always. And when, on the still
cold nights, he pointed his nose at a star and howled long and wolflike, it was his ancestors, dead
and dust, pointing nose at star and howling down through the centuries and through him. And his
cadences were their cadences, the cadences which voiced their woe and what to them was the
meaning of the stiffness, and the cold, and dark .(London 25)

Polish Tradition And Culture

The first thing to do when making pierogies is to put together the dough. Usually, The dough is
made from flour, eggs, and warm water ( History of Polish Pierogi ). This is most important part of
the pierogi, because if the dough is not good the whole thing will fall apart. Next, is the filling.
The pierogi commonly come in three varieties, pierogi with cabbage, cheese and potatoes
(pierogi ruskie), and meat (pierogi miesem). Once the type is decided, The filling is placed in the
middle, and the dough folded over to form a half circle or rounded triangle shape. The edges are
pressed together to seal the pierogi, so that the filling stays inside during the cooking process. The
pierogi are cooked in boiling water until they float on the surface ( History of Polish Pierogi ).
The dough is the most important step, even though this part is crucial, it decides whether or not
the pierogi survives through cooking. Pierogies also come in sweet varieties along with savory.
Sweet pierogies are filed with applesauce or jam ( History of Polish Pierogi ). Leaving sweet
varieties aside, the last step in cooking pierogies is topping them off. They are usually finished
with onions, mushrooms, bacon, and melted butter ( History of Polish Pierogi ). There are many
different ways to make a pierogi, but this is the most common way and probably the most

Essay On Relationship Between Lord Of The Flies And The...
The politician Muhammad Ali Jinnah once said, Think 100 times before you take a decision, but
once that decision is taken, stand by it as one man. In the novels Lord of the Flies, written by
William Golding, and The Odyssey, written by Homer, this message is conveyed throughout.
Furthermore, in Lord of the Flies the main character Ralph finds himself on an unfamiliar island
and later finds other people. The story is characterized by the conflict between human natures; for
example, savagery amongst the children and the hope for rescue. During the course of the book,
Ralph is plagued with difficult decisions. Likewise, The Odysseyis about the journeys of a man
named Odysseus who has to make numerous tough decisions on his voyage back home. In
correlation to the eloquent dialogue of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, when making decisions, one must be
thoughtful before undergoing the task.
First, when making decisions, one must always acknowledge his opponents. One should
especially consider the enemy s strengths and weaknesses. For example, after contemplating the
skills of the Cyclops in the cave, Odysseus drew on all [his] wits, and ran through tactics... until a
trick came and it pleased [him] well (Fitzgerald 381). Odysseus realizes that the Cyclops would
defeat him in any physical confrontation due to his well developed brute strength; as a result, he
plans to trick him because he knows that he is intellectually superior to the Cyclops. Through his

Pant Clothing In The 1970 s
The 1970s was full of movement and change, and the fashion trends of that time reflected that.
The clothes were bold and diverse as people wore clothes they preferred over what was the social
norm of the gender, race, or any other category. Women started wearing more masculine clothes,
men experimented with different suits and many unisex outfits and new styles emerged and
became popular in this decade. Therefore, due to the attitude of the seventies being about
individualism, the decade was titled as the Me decade. Firstly, as stated previously, women started
wearing more masculine clothes, including pant suits. Pant suits helped women make a statement
to society by being worn by both genders and as a symbol for feminism, stating females could be

the decade until the flare disappeared. Denim skirts and vests were also trendy clothes along with
the jeans. Two styles that became popular in the 1970s were the hippie style and the punk rock
style. The hippie style was made popular due to many famous singers, bands, and other
entertainers, such as The Beatles, wearing hippie styled outfits, matching loose fitting shirts with
vivid patterns and pairing them with clothes from many cultures. Men and women both wore this
style and pushed what was normal for society at the time by having long hair as men and women
wearing a large height variety in hemlines. The second style, the punk rock style, began in the
United Kingdom and spread its influence into the American culture. It was popular mainly to the
youth and purposely defied the social norm and drew a line between the youth and the older
generations. Their style consisted of leather jackets, ripped clothes, colorful hair, and many other

Sergei Eisenstein s Bonnie And Clyde
Sergei Eisenstein s film theory often reflects on the capabilities of allowing film editing to create
the essence of the scenes. With the work of Arthur Penn s Bonnie and Clyde viewers see aspects of
the formalist concepts while comparing Eisenstein interpretation of artistic cinematography. In
Eisenstein Cinematic Principle and Ideogram Dialectical Approach the article discusses the way
cinematographic traits help revolutionize the way we view different forms graphically. The article
maintains that cinematography is simply a montage of scenes in frames timed together to create a
picturesque feel that is often left open to interpret by the viewer. The form of the filmwill associate

Viewers can see that she is naive, unhappy and pondering her decision to leave home, which is
rather difficult or seen as predictable to express verbally in her room alone. She is also naked in
this that delivers a sense of innocence and adolescence or wanting to experience adulthood. What
is particularly interesting is how Penn uses the bed rails as a prop in this scene as a
cinematographic convention. Penn creates a depictive metaphor about the character physical state
when Bonnie holds onto the rails and looks out solemnly like a prisoner. Viewers can see that she
is trapped in a life that is not stimulating, and that she is longing for some sort of excitement.
When the camera zooms in to an extreme close up of her eyes viewers can see the sudden change
of somber to slight curiosity that cinematography delivers skillfully in the scene. When editing

Advertising And Its Effects On Society
Medoff and Kaye, described newspaper ads, televisions commercials, billboards, coffee mugs
imprinted with a logo, and flyers left on windshields as a form of advertising (2011, p.130).
According to Medoff and Kaye, advertising serves an educational, social and economic purpose
(2011, p.137). Although advertisingappears beneficial in many features, it too has its drawbacks
and can be similarly unfavorable. Advertising will perhaps become increasingly ubiquitous,
increasingly influential, and increasingly controversial (Advertising, 2011, p.152). Advertising is
highly criticized, not so much for its very nature but because of its content, its negative influences
on society, and the types of products it promotes (2011, p. 152). Critics of advertising scream for
relief from the over commercialized world that it creates explained Medoff and Kaye (2011, p.152).
This chapter revealed arguments made by critics concerning advertising. For one, critics suggest
that advertising encourages greed or materialism (Advertising, 2011, p.153). Moreover, Medoff
and Kaye explain how critics claim that people purchase things they really do not need, but merely
for the sake of acquiring goods (2011, p. 153). This I have observed through some of my friends
and family members. Often they remain in competition to see who could be the first to get the next

Hamlet and Macbeth Compared as Aristotelian Tragedies Essay
Aristotle s Poetics is often considered the blueprint to a successful tragedy; his outline has been
used for hundreds of years. Aristotle defines a tragedy as an imitation of an action that is serious,
complete, and of a certain magnitude... in the form of an action, not of narrative; through pity and
fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions (House 82). Aristotle believed that the most
important part of a strong tragedywas the plot, and from that, the other elements such as character,
diction, etc. would emerge. Aristotle states, the principle of tragedy the soul, if you like is the plot,
and second to that the characters (Whalley 27). Shakespeare s Macbethand Hamletessentially mirror
this definition. While it is true... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hamlet tackles the tragedy within a family, but Macbeth is written as a tragedy that occurs
between friends and associates. While extremely ambitious to be king, at the opening of the play
Macbeth is a loyal servant to King Duncan of Scotland. However, upon hearing a prophecy from
the three witches that predicts his rise to the throne, an insatiable sense of ambition to succeed and
wield power overwhelms the good nature of Macbeth. Aristotle describes this part of tragedy as,
the action is human, the energy is human... the action is plotted and prepared by the maker
(Whalley, 23). This is evident when Macbeth utters to himself, Let not light see my black and deep
desires making known his intentions to murder the king (Macbeth I.iii.52 53). His action is a
premeditated response and is aggravated by his all too human emotions, ambitions and greed.
After the action element of the story, the character is the next central component in a successful
Aristotelian tragedy. According to Aristotle, the character must be true to life and natural; a
character is supposed to be a perfectly related to the audience while remaining believable enough
to hold their role in a production (House, 91). Hamlet is a wealthy and privileged prince; however,
he deals with the problems similar to most common people. He is confused, emotional, obsessive,
and paranoid about the circumstances surrounding the death of his father the king. He lacks faith

Old Navy is an American clothing and accessories retailer owned by another big clothing
comapny, Gap. It has corporate operations in the Mission Bay neighbourhood of San Francisco.
The largest of the Old Navy stores are its flagship stores, located in the Mall of America(NYC),

Old Navy s history goes right where The Gap, Inc. was founded by Donald.G in 1969. Fisher, who

San Francisco, he had been a prosperous real estate developer. It is fair to say, that Fisher s first

became a huge retail chain composed of 200 stores, in over 20 states, and valued at an estimated

Goodsell s book The Case for Bureaucracy: A Public Administration Polemic is composed on the
contrary. Goodsell makes several arguments in favor of the fundamental soundness of American
bureaucracy. His thoughts are derived from a core belief: the quality of public service in the
United States is vastly underrated (p. xi). His polemic is such that the flaws and the faults of
bureaucracy in America are far fewer on a proportionate basis than is generally thought. The
argument of this book is that a wide gap exists between bureaucracy s repopulation and its
record. Despite endless ranting to the contrary, American bureaucracy does work in fact, quite
well (p. 4). According to Goodsell criticisms of government bureaucracy are based more on myth
than reality. Goodsell argues that government agencies actually play a valuable and
indispensable role in making our society a better place to live. For instance Goodsell examines
studies that show what he argues is evidence of public satisfaction with bureaucracy. His
arguments are based on such statistics as most citizens believing that police do not accept bribes
(p. 27) or that only a quarter of welfare recipients waited a half hour or more for service (p. 35). In
addressing direct performance evaluation, Goodsell shows that public bureaucracy has witnessed
overall growth in productivity from 1967 through 1990. He acknowledges, however, that this
cannot be fairly compared to private industry s experience over the

Self destruction or Abortion?
There are many things in this world that people have different views on, but this topic, I feel, is a

should have the right to have abortion be one of your options.
This should be acceptable because most likely, the molested will have PTSD and having a
product of that situation around will only make it worse. I think I speak for everyone when I say
that you wouldn t want to have a child that would remind you of that horrible time in your life

lives where they are able to financially support themselves and a baby, which could be the
reason why they don t already have kids, and now one is being forced upon them. Honestly, I feel
like the worst thing that could ever happen is to being put in a situation that you know you can t

Gallup Organization in 1989 indicated that 81 percent of Americans approved of abortionin cases

mother s health. If more than half of the population that voted agreed that it was acceptable 26

were able to chip away at the availability of that procedure.

fields, in their advancing philosophy, in their wish to drive the cover. (Davidrubin, 2013).
Public and Private Mix
Private funding of care can create world wide power to care more comprehensive and wide ranging.
The probable combination at the point of facility provision confidentially attained privilege with the
public right, can impact, however, upon the objectives (e.g. enhanced well being, justice, price
control, care making proficiency, and customer satisfaction from service) of the publicly sustained
health system. A joint system may be certain, however, for both financial and politically aware
reasons, particularly where health assets are relatively rare. (Chernichovsky, 2000).
Relationship of entrepreneurship to change management
Entrepreneurship is the search of chances involving major threat, awareness to total changes, and
the progress of revolutions. Earlier studies have observed the matter of entrepreneurship in health
care organizations. The front runners need to be more entrepreneurial because of the difficulties in
the health care setting. Returning to changes in a practical manner wants a diverse kind of
frontrunner, especially one who flourishes on change and

The Importance of Addressing Grief
There are many types of grief and many theories that are used when assessing a person s
situation. There are many forms of grief and they may be experienced by different groups of
people. At times it can difficult to figure out what type of grief a person is experiencing and what
help they may need. In order to find this information there are many theories that are used. Griefis
complicated and no one experiences it the same way but there are some common aspects that
are shared by those who grieve. Some of the types of grief are: normal grief, anticipatory grief
and disenfranchised grief. Normal grief is when people move from loss to acptance of the loss.
Normal grief also has little impact on the person s life in the long term because many of the
symptoms will lesson over time. This would be what a large part of the population go through
when they experience loss, but there are other types of grief that have long lasting effects. A
form of grief that is felt before the loss is anticipatory grief. This type of grief is experience by
the family of someone who is dying, they have time to process the idea that a family member is
dying and to accomplish any tasks that need to be addressed. At times even when families know
that people are dying they may not have the chance to grieve like they need to because of society.
For those do not follow what is considered normal, greieving can sometimes be difficult. The type
of grief that deals with this aspect is disenfranchised

Analysis Of The Holocaust And Bourdieu s Habitus Theory
The Jewish Holocaust of 1939 1945, the Cambodian Genocide of 1975 1979, the Rwanda
Genocide of 1994, the rise of Al Qaeda, Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), Boko Haram,
September 11 2001 (9/11) attacks, French attacks of November 2015 these are some events that
have defied social and normative expectations of human behaviour as it probes into the dark
subject of the capacities of terror and violence. Conflict theorist argue that conflict is embedded in
every social system while Bauman claims that pursuit for social progress in modern civilization is
accompanied with violence. This paper applies the conflict theory, Bauman s analysis of the

He saw the Holocaust and Holodomor as a product of the modernity s faith in progress embodied in
bureaucracy and technocracy. For him, the most important factor of the Holocaust was the modern,
technical bureaucratic patterns of action and the mentality they institutionalize, generate, sustain
and produce. Contemporary mass murder is distinguished by the virtual absence of all
spontaneity but the prominence of rational, carefully calculated design and it stands out by its
purpose. Hitler s genocide was a process of organized exclusion and murder which required
cooperation of huge sections of military and bureaucracy to accomplish. This analysis makes up
for the inability for the conflict theory in explaining long term violence and conflict, and its
patterns. However, he failed to explore the role individual factors and group interests, values and
norms play in mass violence and

The Malaysian Dilemma
MALAYSIAN DILEMMA SOLUTIONS Racial tolerance and unity are important in a
multiracial country like Malaysia. However, there are many challenges faced by the prime
minister and Malaysian that prevent the country from becoming a peaceful and harmonious
country. For example, we can see a lot of controversial issue in Tun Dr. Mahathir s book titled
The Malay Dilemma . The Malay Dilemma was written by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in 1970
with 188 pages that focused on Malay s weakness which they do not change their attitudes due to
lack of knowledge influenced by hereditary and environmental factors. The book also describes
Malay economy, government policies, and racial equality. Recently, a lot of issues that make
Malay dilemma become Malaysian dilemma today. Thus, we as Malaysians must take actions to
create the peace and harmony of the country. The controversial issue in The Malay dilemma book
that has become Malaysian dilemma today is about racism. The racism issues started rising after 13

Mass Incarceration Of African Americans
Mass Incarceration of African Americans
Many jail cells and prisons hold more African Americans than colleges and universities. This is a
major problem for younger men and women that have to witness this because if this is all they are
exposed to then this will be all they know. It does not only affect younger children or teenagers but
close family members, wives, and parents. The mass incarceration of African Americans is
becoming the norm for our men and women because the ВЁwhite manВЁ or the government is
subliminally fighting to oppress African Americans and hold them back from any chance of
prosperity that they have.
One great example of this would be Doctor Martin Luther King Jr and Nelson Mandela. Martin
Luther King was an activist and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When parents are imprisoned it is not only they who suffer, but also their offspring. Children of
incarcerated parents are more likely to drop out of school; misbehave in school; develop
learning disabilities. These children are acting out of anger, sadness, and lack of relationship
with mom or dad. Whenever a parent is missing out of the household it plays a major role on the
child in every way possible; academically, socially , and even emotionally. This only leads to
these kids being thrown into the streets, doing drugs, in the graveyard, jail or prison. Every child
needs a father and mother in their life to guide them along the way, be there for them to cheer
them on and see them grow into an adult. But cops and higher officials do not care about any
family or children that is not their own. They also don t care about you if you do not look
similar or have the same social status. It s like they look down on us as if we are beneath them.
That is a pure example of selfishness. So to the policeman this is basically a repeated cycle; lock
up mom or dad then the kid will go astray and start getting his or herself into illegal trouble, soon
enough being locked up as well. And because of this cycle it seems like the norm thing to kids and

Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease Analysis
Prions are infectious protein agents that cause aggregation of the peptide PrPC and form large
amyloid fibrils. These fibrils resist proteoysis and can have a detrimental effect of the
functionality of cells and ultimately cause their death. (3). Misfolded PrPC will form stable
aggregates denoted as PrPSc. PrPC is a soluble proteinthat is present in all organism whose
function is still not totally clear (3). When PrPc converts to PrPSc there is an increase in the
number of ОІ sheets in the protein, which can allow for interaction and stacking of other misfolded
PrPSc proteins, causing an amyloid fibre to form (5).
One of the most relevant prions with regards to human health is Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease
(CJD).CJD is a neurodegenerative disease that causes rapid deterioration over a few months
(1).Degeneration can lead to personality changes, depression, memory loss, blindness and many
other symptoms (1).Before the identification of variant CDJ, sporadic cases of CJD made up 85%
of the CJD cases, followed by familial CDJ causing 5 15% of cases, and the remaining cases
contributed to iatrogenic CJD. I will be primarily focused on iatrogenic CDJ and variant CDJ. ...

Global Spirits Brands Localizing Advertising Essay
Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising
campaigns in emerging markets?
By localizing specific target markets, marketers are able to make more of an impact on several
groups of specific markets than they would have if they had simply stayed with a general
advertisement for a global brand. We have seen this in many major companies before. For
example, Louis Vuitton would record one commercial and then change the voice over or text to be
in whichever language or dialect they wanted it to be.
In this case, marketers are doing the opposite by allowing many different options in order to attract
a specific segment of consumers. I think market segmentation is critical for the success of Scotch
from country to country for the reason that people drink Scotch from country to country for
different reasons such as success. Since Scotch is widely associated with success and achievement,
as well as accelerating thirst for Scotch, understanding each culture is important.
The self satisfaction associated with achieving a goal may not be enough to persuade Chinese
consumers to purchase Scotch whisky. The Chinese market for Scotch Whiskey is highly segmented
because self satisfaction from achieving a goal is not enough; they need acknowledgement of
achievement from others. For advertising for the Chinese, the scotch would need to be represented
in a group in share of an occasion.
Not only this, but localizing their advertising

In Part One of Cops see it differently, Chief Flynn from the Milwaukee PD says that at the level of
cop working in neighborhood, race is irrelevant. It s just people. He argues that police in his city
are not biased against Black residents, but rather that the majority of crimes happen in
neighborhoods that are overwhelmingly African American. What evidence is presented in the
episode to counter Chief Flynn s perspective?
The point that Ed Flynn intends to convey here is that the high number of cases registered against
black people is not something that must be evaluated through racial a perspective, as a matter of
fact, the majority number of crimes happen in areas that have a ... Show more content on

Also, it is significant to mention here the documentary film manifests and highlights the issues of
racism and racial stereotyping from a drug perspective and the ways in which it helps in helps in
building certain perceptions related to black people and their involvement in drugs or other
associated criminal activities.
Another important thing learned from the documentary film that I would like to outline here is that
for the first time a documentary based on drugs, crime and law enforcement actually places its plot
and central idea on the ways in which law enforcement agencies develop their work approach,
perceptions and actions that they take against people involved in drugs and the overall decision
making process that accounts for their action.
Furthermore, the documentary film also very clearly and effectively highlights the different
psychological dimensions that influence the ways in which cops and people in the Special Forces
take their decisions when it comes to differentiating people on the basis of their color and hence

Girl On The Escalator Poem
A Bukowski Poem
Nia Scott
The film, Girl on the Escalator is a visual retelling of a poem by well known poet, Charles
Bukowski.
Girl on the Escalator was an official selection of the 2016 LA Shorts Festival and the 2016
Raindance Film Festival. It was directed by Kayhan Lannes Ozmen.
Charles Bukowski. What can be said about him that hasn t already been said? I think he is a
very talented poet but also controversial. He was an alcoholic and in his poems, he would talk
about ogling women in a way that is slightly uncomfortable to read. Yet, he also wrote uplifting,
compassionate poems about the poor and suffering. He wasn t someone that could be easily
labeled as a writer, he jumped around and wrote exactly what he wanted. Bukowski was always
honest in his poems, and many of them read like the pages of a diary or the streams of thought
that we can t see. His honesty polarized him with some audiences because people like it when
they can easily label something and don t need to think on it, but Bukowski couldn t be named
one thing. I think it was hard for some to read his poems about the poor and then accept his other
poems like Girl on the Escalator . He was a very complex person who lived a colorful life. ... Show

As the narrator reads each line, it is acted out on the screen. Bukowski does what he does best in
the beginning and creepily ogles the young woman s backside. He doesn t seem to like the man that
is with her or does not like the girl because she is not with him. Either way he is motivated to
create a backstory for the girl. The couple did not speak to or antagonize him but he felt the need to
create a story for the girl. Sometimes when I m bored I ll do a similar thing where I ll sit down and
create stories in my head of people s lives but they re usually more hopeful. Bukowski breaks this
girl down as someone with alcoholic and racist

As I Lay Dying Narrators
How many books have you read that have 15 narrators? Any? As I Lay Dying is a book written
by William Faulkner. The book is written in the perspective of 15 different people. The story
revolves around the Bundren family. The mother Addie dies early in the book, and she had
requested to be buried beside her parents in Jefferson. As I Lay Dyingis about the journey the family
takes to carry out their mother s final wish. Throughout the book, we learn about the family through
the obstacles they must overcome. Faulkner uses 15 narrators to show different point of views,
character s thoughts, and their personalities.
By using 15 narrators, Faulkner allows the reader to see events from different points of view. This
style of writing also causes the order of events to be displaced. For example, we learned about the
Gillespie s barn fire. Then, later we find the barn was set on fire by Darl. Darl believed he had good
reasoning behind burning the barn. On the other hand, Cash said But I ... Show more content on

After Addie dies, Vardaman says, But Jewel s mother is a horse. My mother is a fish... My
mother is not in a box. My mother does not smell like that. My mother is a fish (187). This quote
shows his frame of mind. In this case, it leads the reader to believe Vardaman does not fully grasp
the situation or that his mental state is not great. Later in the story, Dewey Dell and Anse have a
conversation. Anse said, I have fed you and sheltered you. I give you love and care, yet my own
daughter, the daughter of my dead wife, calls me a thief over her mother s grave (245, 246). In
this quote, Anse talks about how much he has done for the family. Anse sees himself as the
reason his kids have any good in their lives. However, throughout the book we learn Anse is lazy
and wants people to get the job done for him. Using a multitude of narrators gives us a deeper look
into who the characters really

The Movie Hunger Games Essay
The last movie is the novel adaptation, Hunger Games series came to a close on November 17,
2015. The final film in the series, Mockingjay Part 2, follows the same strategy as another young
adult movie franchise, Twilight. The book turned movie raised its nearly unknown cast to rock star
status and enormous profit.
This sci fi, adventure is violent. Scenes of blood oozing out of actors and actresses earned the PG
13 rating. The violence was spread evenly, however, the out the 137 minute duration of the movie.
The movie seemed timely as United States presidential candidates are dropping one by one in what
late night host Stephen Colbert calls The Hungry for Power Games .
The film s plot started off with a cliff hanger from Mockingjay Part 2. Immediately, the viewer
could sense the tying of loose ends. Some parts of the film were predictable, though. The motion
of this movie differed from the first two of the series. Mockingjay Parts One and Two almost feel
like completely different films. Screenwriters Peter Craig and Danny Strong had the task of
condensing Suzanne Collins award winning novel series plot in to a movie. Loyal Hunger Games
readers could attest to the lessened action and added description. Jon Kilik worked as co producer
with Nina Jacobson s Color Force Company.
According to an article in Forbes Magazine, the film s budget was $125 million. Although there
were no reported budget issues a major hurdle the cast and crew faced was the passing of a lead

  • 2. Elephants Vs Sparkle Paper Advertisements share one common goal, that is to draw to people s attention. In order to accomplish this goal, advertisements contain a headline, visual, and layout. For instance, advertisements such as Sparkle creatively and thoughtfully uses the tactics above to convince people to purchase Sparkle paper towels. The first thing that people see in the advertisement of Sparkle Thirst Pockets paper towels is the headline. The headline is highly visible, because it is printed in bold letters. Besides the boldness of the letters, people are easily drawn to this advertisement, because the headline asks, What s the difference between elephants and Sparkle paper towels? An obvious question like this targets a wide audience and makes it unlikely for people to ignore the advertisement. The response to this question is, Both can soak up spills, but only one can fit in your kitchen. This response triggers human and possibly getting people to think about how sturdy... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The visuals that appear in the advertisement is an elephant, package of paper towels, and the texture of the paper towels. The elephant in the advertisement allows viewers to relate the image to the headline. The elephant s eyes attract viewers and its facial expression evokes a joyful and warm feeling. With its trunk the elephant is holding a package of paper towels. The motive behind the elephant holding the paper towels is so readers can compare how an elephants easily eats and drinks using his trunk to how the paper towels can effectively grab food or soak up spills.******** The background of the advertisement also serves as a visual. People are able to see how the paper towels look like instead of imagining them. The backgrounds overall visually communicates what the advertisement is all about, eliminating any confusion people may have. The images that are portrayed capture people s attention and stimulate interest, helping to sell the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Aspects Of Ias 17 IAS 17 Leases prescribes the accounting policies and discloses applicable to leases, both for lessees and lessors (Deloitte, 2015:1). All leases are either classified as a finance lease or an operating lease, with the main difference being the information that is required to be recorded on the balance sheet. As some information is then off balance sheet, this can cause conflict with the objective of financial statements. As the objectives are set to provide financial information about the entity to existing and potential investors, lenders and creditors, without this information it is hard for them to see the true value of the company (ACCA, 2011). This essay will discuss the aspects of IAS 17 in detail while approaching conflicts that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the article by Milano (2012) also describes how operating leases can be an efficient and flexible way of leasing to many businesses. Leasing can be an advantage to a lot of successful companies if managed accurately. The lessee has a choice in the portion of the life of the asset they lease, meaning when that contract is up they can refresh the asset with a newer version which can lead to improved performance and reliability (Milano, 2012). These advantages can be received by both financing and operating leases, although the downfall of the operating lease is that the liability of the full cost of the asset is not recorded in their balance sheet, instead only the smaller cost of the annual expense is included. This could mean that an investor or owner taking on a company may not realise the large amount of expense that occurs from leasing an asset as the total liability cannot be seen. Enron is a well known example of a company that has run into trouble as a result of concealing large amounts of debt from the company accounts (BBC, 2002). The company grew dramatically very quickly in the US, and then the success turned out to be as a result of their scam, the company ended up being the biggest business bankruptcy ever (Forbes, 2013). The Enron scandal has resulted in many other companies being investigated for the same offences. Barclays bank are an example of this as they struck an unusual deal ... • 4. The Next Phase Of Ending The Cold War Essay The Next Phase in Ending the Cold War The date is October 27, 1962, and it is a brisk fall day in Michigan. Normally, I could hear children playing outside of my office window but not today. Today, all that I can hear is wind passing through the city and the feeling of despair resonates throughout the populace. The blockade went up two days ago and I want to believe that it will be enough to subdue the U.S.S.R. forces but I am unsure if the blockade will hold. President Kennedy is entirely against using first strike measures because he does not want to enter another unnecessary war, however most citizens have lived in a state of panic and distress. The citizens believe that the strikes would be bad, but they would end the restlessness that can be felt even in the smallest of children. The biggest conversation politically is that President Kennedy is not fit to be president of the United States of America, due to his age and the recent failure, The Bay of Pigs . Conflict between Cuba, U.S.S.R, and the United States present two conclusions: These nations begin a nuclear war with few to none survivors or these nations do not participate in a nuclear war and everyone lives. I have been tasked with dealing with two scenarios: The first scenario is if we decided to strike Cuba, what does the day after look like. The second scenario is that if we wait and the United States is hit with a nuclear weapon from Cuba, what does October 28, 1962, look like for an average American. I ... • 6. Cultural Differences Between Race And Ethnicity First, race and ethnicity are defined as different concepts, the first being biological and the second cultural. The key point to understand both concepts separately are the social labels used by a society, to classify its members biologically and culturally. While race is based on the popular perception of people s physical traits, ethnicity separates them by cultural characteristics. Members of a group share the same language, accent, religion, history, and even national origin. Most of the time, ethnicity is something that is obtained through learning, under the form and lifestyle, among others. Although each individual at a given time can seek a new ethnicity, every individual is born belonging to a particular ethnic group. Some examples ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ethnic origin, on the other hand, is determined by the social and cultural groups to which it belongs. One can have more of an ethnic background, but only one race, even if it is mixed. Contrary to ethnic groups, of which there are thousands or more, there are only a few racial groups. Another difference between race and ethnicity is related to the ability to identify oneself. A person cannot choose his race; this is assigned to him based on his physical characteristics. However one can choose ethnicity. A person can learn a certain language, social norms, and customs, in addition to assimilating a culture and being part of that ethnic group. Ethnicity is a requirement of identity on the part of the people since there are identification and feeling of belonging to an ethnic group but at the same time a feeling of exclusion from other groups due to this affiliation. The great problem of ethnic differences is that throughout the history of mankind there have been constant persecutions towards minorities even though there are no physical differences among the population. As an example, we have the case of the Jews in World War II. One similarity between race and ethnicity is that both are a social ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His most famous research was done during the late 19th and early 20th century, in which during this time he wrote one of his most famous works Civilization and Its Discontents. In this book of his, Freud manages to draw on many Enlightenment ideals and challenges some of these notions through his theoretical analysis on the subconscious mind. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this paper of his, Marx tackles many Enlightenment ideals but also challenges many with his analysis on class struggle (bourgeoisie vs. working class), capitalism, and the development of society as a result of these struggles. Marx s main proposal in The Communist Manifesto is that of historical materialism , which is basically self divided into two parts: historically and materialistic. Historically, Marx defines history as a change from the past to present in which the present relies on analysis of the past to ensure progress. Furthermore, Marx regards that relations in the past have continually been subject to historical change consequent upon the change in historical conditions .7 The analysis of the past is consequent with the present as it is dependent with progress. Without analyzing the past, Marx is stating that society in general will not learn from the class struggles that so aptly occupied society during that time. The materialistic aspect of this, is prominent through Marx s explanation that the economy of a society does not necessarily lead to distress and chaos in society, furthermore the economy of a society is not to blame. In many ways Marx says that following every historical period, the prevailing mode of economic production and exchange, and the social organization necessarily following from it, form the basis upon which it is built up [...] .8 ... Despite the drive of obtaining money from globalization, which should help residents move up the social ladder, the high mortality rate instead reverse the effect of globalization, changing the opportunity of making money to being in debt from borrowing money and losing property. This leads the residents, despite moving to a higher social position, digress and possibility shift lower on the social ladder. The second factor adding to the prosperity of the industry was the jump the Dominican Republic had on the organic food market, which arose in the early 90s due to their lack of chemical use. • 14. The s Argument That The Holocaust Is Only Available... Miller, like Glowacka, understands that literature, even fiction, transmits ideas and emotions to the reader which are central to comprehending and learning from traumatic experiences. Miller references Susan Suleiman s argument that the Holocaust is only available through representation . Suleiman made this argument in response to Holocaust deniers who claim that fictitious memoirs confirm the inexistence of the Holocaust. However, the point supports the idea that art, including literature, allows the public to experience something like the Holocaust that otherwise would be not be available to experience. On the other hand, Miller successfully argues that fake memoirs are meant to highlight the problematic nature of authenticity and capitalism has changed the idea of what we think is real and what is not. By citing Baudrillard, Miller states that our idea of real is only a series of representations that we think are real. In fact, all our ideas of reality are fabrications because memory is not factual. The discovery of these fake memoirs can cause society to realize that all memoirs are, in fact, fabrications. With that in mind, this article contradicts the idea that the public can understand trauma through experiencing art. Overall, Stylised Configurations of Trauma contributes to the art, trauma, and memory theme through proving that the study of fraudulent memoirs can help explain the strange expectation that literature is able to provide access to something ... I Attended University Dance Theatre I attended University Dance Theatre over the weekend, and after just recently becoming interested in dance and appreciating dance as an art form I was excited to watch a live dance performance. There were a total of nine dances, each of which, were choreographed by different people. Not surprisingly, every dancewas extremely different, and left the audience feeling different emotions. It was hard picking two dances that I enjoyed the most because they were all fantastic. I picked two that were simple, in the sense that anyone could determine the reason behind the dance. The first is powerful, and the second is humorous. It was interesting breaking down the dances, determining the choreographic and theatrical elements, and concluding the meaning of the dance if any. My expectations were high going in, and I was not disappointed. Beginning with the powerful dance in the first half Still?. Still? was preformed by two African American women. I found this dance interesting because the music was spoken text by Martin Luther King, Jr. in the beginning and towards the end was poetry that was spoken with strong emotion. The stage lighting was turned down, almost completely dark, and the two women had dark clothing, which, indicated sorrow, frustration, and anger almost. There are also potential risks associated with the technologies and operations of the distribution system though, so the distribution system must be included in the cybersecurity discussion. One such distribution security risk involves the increasing popularity of smart meters and the fact that there are no cybersecurity regulations associated with them. The politician Muhammad Ali Jinnah once said, Think 100 times before you take a decision, but once that decision is taken, stand by it as one man. In the novels Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding, and The Odyssey, written by Homer, this message is conveyed throughout. Furthermore, in Lord of the Flies the main character Ralph finds himself on an unfamiliar island and later finds other people. The story is characterized by the conflict between human natures; for example, savagery amongst the children and the hope for rescue. During the course of the book, Ralph is plagued with difficult decisions. Aristotle defines a tragedy as an imitation of an action that is serious, complete, and of a certain magnitude... in the form of an action, not of narrative; through pity and fear effecting the proper purgation of these emotions (House 82). Aristotle believed that the most important part of a strong tragedywas the plot, and from that, the other elements such as character, diction, etc. would emerge. While extremely ambitious to be king, at the opening of the play Macbeth is a loyal servant to King Duncan of Scotland. However, upon hearing a prophecy from the three witches that predicts his rise to the throne, an insatiable sense of ambition to succeed and wield power overwhelms the good nature of Macbeth. Aristotle describes this part of tragedy as, the action is human, the energy is human... the action is plotted and prepared by the maker (Whalley, 23). This is evident when Macbeth utters to himself, Let not light see my black and deep desires making known his intentions to murder the king (Macbeth I.iii.52 53). His action is a premeditated response and is aggravated by his all too human emotions, ambitions and greed. After the action element of the story, the character is the next central component in a successful Aristotelian tragedy. According to Aristotle, the character must be true to life and natural; a character is supposed to be a perfectly related to the audience while remaining believable enough to hold their role in a production (House, 91). Hamlet is a wealthy and privileged prince; however, he deals with the problems similar to most common people. He is confused, emotional, obsessive, and paranoid about the circumstances surrounding the death of his father the king. He lacks faith ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

And since that time, The Gap s retail clothing brand has been one of the most successful in United States history. Young adults from the neighbouring San Francisco have flown to the stores to get low priced jeans. And in just a few short years, the first Gap store became a huge retail chain composed of 200 stores, in over 20 states, and valued at an estimated $100 million dollars. By the late 1970s, GAP was growing at a rate of almost 80 new stores each year and generating about $300 million annually, which worth mentioning is a lot of money that days. Goodsell s book The Case for Bureaucracy: A Public Administration Polemic is composed on the contrary. Goodsell makes several arguments in favor of the fundamental soundness of American bureaucracy. His thoughts are derived from a core belief: the quality of public service in the United States is vastly underrated (p. xi). His polemic is such that the flaws and the faults of bureaucracy in America are far fewer on a proportionate basis than is generally thought. The argument of this book is that a wide gap exists between bureaucracy s repopulation and its record. Despite endless ranting to the contrary, American bureaucracy does work in fact, quite well (p. 4). According to Goodsell criticisms of government bureaucracy are based more on myth than reality. Goodsell argues that government agencies actually play a valuable and indispensable role in making our society a better place to live. For instance Goodsell examines studies that show what he argues is evidence of public satisfaction with bureaucracy. His arguments are based on such statistics as most citizens believing that police do not accept bribes (p. 27) or that only a quarter of welfare recipients waited a half hour or more for service (p. 35). In addressing direct performance evaluation, Goodsell shows that public bureaucracy has witnessed overall growth in productivity from 1967 through 1990. He acknowledges, however, that this cannot be fairly compared to private industry s experience over the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The volunteers/staff were awesome all day and some even thanked racers for showing up, the bling is nice, as just mentioned above, the course all though somewhat repetitive with wall obstacles was a fun challenge so I am going to rate the event 4.8 out of 5 stars. There are many things in this world that people have different views on, but this topic, I feel, is a very controversial one that causes a lot of dispute. I feel that if you are a victim of rape then you should have the right to have abortion be one of your options. This should be acceptable because most likely, the molested will have PTSD and having a product of that situation around will only make it worse. I think I speak for everyone when I say that you wouldn t want to have a child that would remind you of that horrible time in your life every time that you look at them. A poll taken by the Gallup Organization in 1989 indicated that 81 percent of Americans approved of abortionin cases of rape or incest and 75 percent approved if carrying the pregnancy to term would damage the mother s health. At times it can difficult to figure out what type of grief a person is experiencing and what help they may need. In order to find this information there are many theories that are used. Griefis complicated and no one experiences it the same way but there are some common aspects that are shared by those who grieve. Some of the types of grief are: normal grief, anticipatory grief and disenfranchised grief. Normal grief is when people move from loss to acptance of the loss. Normal grief also has little impact on the person s life in the long term because many of the symptoms will lesson over time. This would be what a large part of the population go through when they experience loss, but there are other types of grief that have long lasting effects. A form of grief that is felt before the loss is anticipatory grief. This type of grief is experience by the family of someone who is dying, they have time to process the idea that a family member is dying and to accomplish any tasks that need to be addressed. • 47. Global Spirits Brands Localizing Advertising Essay Why are Diageo, Pernod Ricard, and other marketers of global spirits brands localizing advertising campaigns in emerging markets? By localizing specific target markets, marketers are able to make more of an impact on several groups of specific markets than they would have if they had simply stayed with a general advertisement for a global brand. We have seen this in many major companies before. For example, Louis Vuitton would record one commercial and then change the voice over or text to be in whichever language or dialect they wanted it to be. In this case, marketers are doing the opposite by allowing many different options in order to attract a specific segment of consumers. I think market segmentation is critical for the success of Scotch from country to country for the reason that people drink Scotch from country to country for different reasons such as success. Since Scotch is widely associated with success and achievement, as well as accelerating thirst for Scotch, understanding each culture is important. The self satisfaction associated with achieving a goal may not be enough to persuade Chinese consumers to purchase Scotch whisky. The Chinese market for Scotch Whiskey is highly segmented because self satisfaction from achieving a goal is not enough; they need acknowledgement of achievement from others.
