communist Soviet Union taking control of their nation.
Why was NATO created
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization was created in 1949
by the United States, Canada, and several Western European
nations to provide collective security against the Soviet Union.
NATO was the first peacetime military alliance the United
States entered into outside of the Western Hemisphere.

seven Soviet satellite states in Central and Eastern

Trump scolds
Mr. Trump called on NATO, an
organization founded on collective
defense against the Soviet threat, to
include limiting immigration in its
tasks, as well as fighting terrorism
and deterring Russia.
NATO leaders wanted Mr. Trump to
publicly support the military alliance
he had called "obsolete”. This is not
fair to the people and taxpayers of
the United States, and many of these
nations owe massive amounts of
money from past years .
Trump endorsed
NATO’s bedrock
collective defense
clause and
committed to Article
5.
NATO should be disbanded
The reality is that NATO is
an expensive and needless
organization that is the
cause of much instability
across the world, and
must therefore be
disbanded.
