Doing More with Less - Using Data to maximise impactOscar Baruffa
Presentation at the African Marine Waste Network Conference in July 2017, describing how to use data, including open data, to maximise the impact of waste minimisation interventions
Implementing AI: High Performance ArchitecturesKTN
The Implementing AI: High Performance Architectures webinar, hosted by KTN and eFutures, was the fourth event in the Implementing AI webinar series.
The focus of the webinar was the impact of processing AI data on data centres - particularly from the technology perspective. The webinar had four presentations from experts, covering the opportunities, implementation techniques and Case Studies, followed by a panel Q&A session.
Solarize Torrington is a unique discount buying program that uses a tiered-pricing structure, town-supported education and outreach and one competitively selected installer, Astrum Solar, to dramatically reduce the cost of solar. The more residents sign up for Solarize, the more the cost comes down. All contracts must be signed by September 16 to participate.
The Implementing AI: Vision Systems, hosted by KTN and eFutures, was the third event of the Implementing AI webinar series.
The focus of this webinar was the opportunities and challenges of improving the capabilities of imaging systems.
Vision systems are widely used in many industries - from monitoring and manufacturing systems to security systems and even doorbells. In recent years the capabilities of these solutions have increased dramatically enabled by the advances in embedded systems that can deliver increased processing power and analysis capability.
The webinar had four presentations from experts covering overviews of the opportunity, implementation techniques and case studies.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

What is the accessibility campaign
• Increasing landlords’ openness towards
adaptations
• Increasing landlords’ awareness about funding
e.g. Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs)
• Increasing local authorities’ promotion of the
grants to private landlords
3. www.landlords.org.uk 3
NLA motivations
• Ageing demographic and the role that landlords
can play to address the shortage of supply
• Only seven percent of DFG awards go to private
tenants
• Opportunity to make a case for a new sub-
market with strong demand
4. www.landlords.org.uk 4
Preliminary work
• Policy workshops at meetings in London, Manchester,
Southampton and Bournemouth
• Surveyed 829 landlords in our Q1 quarterly survey
• Hosted a roundtable to explore our research findings
• We have highlighted the project to the Ministry for
Housing, Communities and Local Government
5. www.landlords.org.uk 5
Campaign outputs
• Report highlighting current barriers and proposed
solutions to address supply issue
• Best practice guidance from the landlord’s
perspective endorsed by sector stakeholders
• Wider engagement with political stakeholders to
raise awareness and support for change
6. www.landlords.org.uk 6
Stakeholder engagement
• Roundtables with various stakeholders to
develop a consensus on possible solutions
• Terms of reference were framed by findings
from our member survey
• Research identified current practices, supply-
side bottlenecks, challenges and incentives

Campaign outcome
• Good practice guidance on adaptations for
landlords
• Small scale pilots with local authorities and large
portfolio landlords
• The pilots would be valuable case studies of a
landlord’s adaptation journey

Editor's Notes
The accessibility campaign is about increasing the number of landlords open to considering adaptation requests and this is linked to the points above which are:
Funding – landlords need to be made more aware about the DFG and how some grants are also funded under social care
Local authority involvement- landlords need local authorities to have clear signposting about adaptations within the PRS
Share the tenant results before proceeding to the next slide
Explain that the box out (No. of properties (let to those with accessibility needs) provides a breakdown of how the eight percent of landlords are providing adaptations. In this case, the proportion of landlords providing adaptations increases as their portfolio size rises.
