INTRODUCTION
On-the-Job Training (OJT) is a job training that occurs in the work place. It is part of
a college curriculum that aims to train and orient students about the work and their
future career but to show students the reality about working.
It aids the students to acquire relevant knowledge and skills through the actual
experience in working in the field of their profession. Thus making the work place
became a new venue of learning for the student. On the companies’ side, OJT
program provides additional provides additional manpower with lesser labor cost
than a regular employee.
Students are required to complete five hundred hours (500) hours each of them. The
students are expected to learn gain experience on the life of an Information
Technology.
Students should not take the OJT for granted because if you will get a high
evaluation grade, your employer might hire you when you graduate. Your back
ground OJT is very important when applying a job. Oftentimes, employers will ask
you the relevance of your training to your course and to the position you are applying
for. It will be your training ground. If you still have no idea on what is meant to be a
worker, OJT will give a hint of career realities. Your OJT superior might as well
recommend your skills to other companies whom he knows. It will give you a sense
of confidence that you can use when applying for a job after graduation and also
help you to make career choices.
Students should realize the importance of OJT on their future career. Having a good
performance during OJT is very important especially now that there’s a tight
competition towards job seekers and the high qualification of companies.
Trainees are eager to learn the ropes of the business so cooperation is not a
question. Employers can make use of the OJT program as a method in recruiting
new employees since the mentor had witnessed the trainee’s performance, behavior
and attitude progress and growth. As for the OJT program for the Interior Design
course, the students would be trained by one, two or three companies in three
different categories of the program.
While training the interns, employers are in fact also teaching their employees to
process of guiding the trainees stretches their patience, develops teaching skills and
makes them more sensitive to the needs and mind set of the younger generation.
The course of supervision also teaches them how to share what they know and be
receptive to questions. Hence, the internship also becomes an avenue in training for
future managers of the company. Accommodating On-the-Job Trainees can truly be
beneficial not only the trainees but also to the companies that provide opportunities
for this type of learning. There is wisdom in the front lines. Such training can be
investment that will be valuable to the company later on. This is also why trainees
should take their internship seriously as it can become a powerful tool and possibly
even a source of recommendation when they that big lift from being students to
career professionals.

ASSESSMENT OF WORK EXPERIENCE
As a trainee of the On the Job Training (OJT) at the City Assessor’s Office I learned
a lot of things in those 3 months of training and I found out that my fellow workers
had no problem in my work because I follow the rules and regulations and also the
safety on how to handle documents.
In the office, Ma’am Maricel Reyes task me like they task me to write the Records of
Assessment & Daily Accomplishment Report (Land/Bldgs.) in hand written form.
Then Ma’am Teresa Esperanza, Sir Homnie Copag & Ma’am Venus Lusdoc
assigned me to arrange in alphabetical order the Notice of Assessment by
Barangays then inserting the documents at the Tax Declaration of Real Property Roll
Book. Then after that at the Records Room, Ma’am Rosalinda Gotostos they

Book in alphabetical order. They also Ma’am Irene Pinabacdao assigned me to
stamp Superseded in the Tax Declaration of Real Property Roll Book and I wrote the

Ma’am Maricel Reyes task me to create the Records of Assessment, Daily
Accomplishment Report by using Microsoft Excel. Lastly, they task me to do the
compilation of by Barangays the Daily Accomplishment Report in alphabetical order.
In those 3 months as a Trainee I learned to be obedient and always to be organize
and responsible at the same time. Those things I will remember and apply it in when
times come when I can able to find a stable job in Government or Private Offices or
Company. Because what I learned in my college will be served as my equipment to
