Nypro Inc., Corporate Travel Manager(1997 – 2013)
• Initially worked at the multi-national company as its
onsite travel coordinator via a vendor; due to stellar performance, was asked
by the company to assume the role of internal travel manager and to launch
an in-house travel hub that would no longer be totally reliant on external
providers. Ultimately established the company’s corporatetravel
office in 1997 on a minimal budget and have managed over time to
strategically implement a continent-wide expansion to include satellite
offices throughout the US, Europe and Asia.
• Received steady “level-increases” during tenure, which
are tantamount to the company’s version of promotions, and was ultimately
made a company shareholder.
• Numerous day-to-day duties that have grown and
evolved over the years, including:
2. • Negotiating corporatecontracts with all travel-related
vendors (travel management companies, airlines, car rentals, car
services, etc.) to ensure efficient business travel at a reasonable cost.
• Managing contracts throughout the established timeframe
by monitoring volumes and usage to ensure compliance or to
recommend adjustment when necessary.
• Developing and executing travel management and vendor
strategies which offer safe, convenient, costeffective travel options
for our company employees.
• Ensuring the highest quality customer service in travel
arrangement and call center support. Developing competent and
motivated staff through effective hiring, evaluating, counseling and
training.
• Promoting quality customer service and review
procedures;implementing changes as necessary to improve efficiency
and workflow.
• Implemented, selected, and negotiated partner offices
abroad, including locations in Denmark, Ireland and Hong Kong.
• Vendor selection and training of online booking tools
worldwide through road trip, web-x and in house training.
• Working with all our negotiated properties worldwide to
ensure Nypro rates and online booking tools are accessible through all
vendor partner offices in the US, Europe and Hong Kong.
• Monitoring travel budget and assisting with business
planning and analysis with respect to accrual and budgeting issues.
• Communicating travel initiatives to senior executives,
business units and plants through quarterly reports, monthly news
articles, the Nypro net travel page and periodic updates as deemed
necessary.
• Implementing customer satisfaction surveys to gauge
trends and identify areas for improvement. Handling all US/Mexican
passportand visa issuance through newly negotiated vendor

charges.
• Recommending and overseeing successfulAmerican
Express corporatecard program for the last 10 years, helping
implement the current Bank of America Visa card program and
coordinating corporatecards in Denmark through Dansk Bank.
Continuing to oversee all corporatetravel cards in the US.

implementation and purchasing card integration.
• Authoring a regular column in the “Nypro News”, our
company newsletter, this focuses on travel initiatives, savings efforts,
and global expansion.

and practices throughout the industry, including with respect to
automated tools and expense management.
Serving as a leader for the last 15 years in the planning
of the periodic Nypro World Management Forum meeting, which is the
company’s most important and prestigious global event and has been since
the company’s inception, which entails significant responsibilities including:
• Overall theme selection and event planning for each
conference, which is attended by Nypro’s external and worldwide
board members, all senior executives, vice presidents and plant
managers and has been held at locations including New York, Beijing,
Budapest, Chicago, Puerto Rico, Singapore, San Diego and Boston.
• Successfully selecting and negotiating site locations,
pricing, offsite event venues and all logistics for travel throughout the
5-day event, for up to 100 company VIP employees.
4. • Working onsite tirelessly throughout each event,
managing all logistics and communications throughout, including
arrivals, departures, group transfers, special offsite events at unusual
and often difficult to obtain venues (e.g., one such event was held atop
the Great Wall of China).
• Forging strong relationships with on-the-ground vendors
despite cultural differences and language barriers; remaining in
communication with many of these same contacts currently.

• Primary focus was as a designated representative servicing
individual corporate accounts (including Nypro, which resulted in my
becoming their employee). Significant responsibilities included arranging
costeffective travel bookings, managing customer relationships and
engaging in contract negotiations.
