1. Exodus 15:22-23
Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they
went into the Desert of Shur. For three days they
traveled in the desert without finding water.
When they came to Marah, they could not drink
its water because it was bitter. (That is why the
place is called Marah.)

2. Exodus 15:24-25
So the people grumbled against Moses, saying,
‘What are we to drink?’ Then Moses cried out to
the Lord, and the Lord showed him a piece of
wood. He threw it into the water, and the water
became sweet. There the Lord made a decree
and a law for them, and there He tested them.

3. Exodus 15:26-27
He said, ‘If you listen carefully to the voice of the
Lord your God and do what is right in His eyes, if
you pay attention to His commands and keep all
His decrees, I will not bring on you any of the
diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the
Lord, who heals you.’ Then they came to Elim,
where there were twelve springs and seventy
palm trees, and they camped there near the
water.

4. To speak of the Lord who heals raises many
QUESTIONS.
Healing can be ENIGMATIC.
There are many FACETS of how we might
experience the touch of Yahweh Rapha.
Yahweh Rapha, the Lord
who HEALS.
5. They are at Marah by DESIGN, not accident.
One purpose of a test is to reveal what is yet
UNSEEN.
The absence of healing may
mean there are LESSONS to
learn or that God wants to
reveal Himself in a different
way.
6. It is possible that physical healing may CONFLICT
with a greater spiritual good.
There is a link between obedience with overall
HEALTH.
God can TRANSFORM bitter
trials into healing streams;
wounds into avenues for
ministry.
7. If it were not for sin there would be no sickness,
though not all sickness is the result of PERSONAL
sin.
Let us not LIMIT how God may choose to heal.

My Next Step Today is to:
( ) Do the home life help (in bulletin)
( ) Read one of the gospels making note of
healing miracles.
( ) Seek God for the “healing” that would bring
Him the most glory.
( ) Trust God when facing “bitter waters”
( ) Ask God what He wants me to learn from
whatever I am going through.
