You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. - James 4:1-3
In other words, if your needs just keep on not being taken care of, it’s either because you’re not praying at all or because you think you’re praying and you’re not!

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

Choose thanks part 1 (blessing of thanks luke 17 11 19)
1. Luke 17:11-13
Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled
along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
As he was going into a village, ten men who had
leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and
called out in a loud voice, ‘Jesus, Master, have
pity on us!’

2. Luke 17:14-16
When he saw them, he said, ‘Go, show
yourselves to the priests.’ And as they went,
they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw
he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud
voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and
thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

3. Luke 17:17-19
Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where
are the other nine? Was no one found to return
and give praise to God except this foreigner?’
Then he said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has
made you well.’

5. It is possible to receive grace and fall short of
entering into a RELATIONSHIP
God is big enough to run the universe, but cares
enough to TEND to your needs.
6. Choosing thanks is to acknowledge
what God has done and to live for
Him out of GRATITUDE not guilt or
obligation
Just because we act in OBEDIENCE doesn’t mean we
do so with gratefulness toward God.
The foreigner did what the religious failed to do; he
acknowledged the gift and the Giver. He
COMMITTED himself to Jesus.
7. When you choose to
acknowledge what God has
done and live for Him out of
gratitude, the vertical thanks is
expressed in PRAISE and
WORSHIP
The blessing of thanks is TWOFOLD both blessing
God and you.

( ) Ask God to help me see the blessings in the hard
times.
( ) Take time to acknowledge what God has done.
( ) Examine my motives for obedience. Is it from a
grateful heart or something else?
( ) Be intentional in pausing to give God thanks and
praise.
