▪ Institutions get to know its Strengths, Weakness, Targets from the review process

Eligibility Criterion Assessment & Accreditation
▪ Higher Education Institution (HEI), which is in existence for six years or has a record of at least
two passed-out batches
▪ Provided the College is affiliated to a University recognized by UGC for the purposes of
affiliation (University, Deemed to be University)
▪ College received the status of Autonomy by UGC
▪ The NAAC accreditation does not cover distance education units of HEI and off-shore campuses
▪ The institution intending to apply for Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC must upload the
information on All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) portal. AISHE code (reference
number) is one of the requirements for Registration.
University Accreditation Process
The process broadly consists of :
▪ Online submission of Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) and
Self-Study Report (SSR) ;
▪ Data Validation and Verification (DVV) by NAAC ;
▪ Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS) by NAAC ;
▪ Peer Team Visit ; and
▪ Institutional Grading.

Why is there an IIQA process?
The purpose of the IIQA process is:
▪ To ascertain the eligibility of the institution for comprehensive assessment and accreditation by NAAC.
▪ To ensure that the applicant institutions fulfils statutory requirements of agencies which govern it
▪ Fee Structure
▪ New Fee Structure (w.e.f. 1st April, 2021)
▪ IIQA Fee Rs. 25,000/- + GST 18% (Non-refundable)*
* In case of rejection of IIQA application, HEIs may resubmit IIQA applications for maximum of
three attempts without IIQA fees, including the rejection attempt, within the period of a year from
the first application of IIQA

▪ For Universities and Professional Institutions
▪ 50% of Total fee (Non-refundable) along with the online submission of SSR.
▪ •Balance 50% of total fees along with 18% GST before 15 days from the date of on site visit.
▪ •The A & A fees and expenses on TA & logistics of peer team would be reimbursed as per NAAC
guidelines.

MANDATORY DISCLOSURE ON THE HEI’s WEBSITE
▪ SSR submitted online, to be uploaded after DVV process only (.pdf
format).
▪ Data templates are to be uploaded along with the SSR.
▪ Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR – Year-wise).
▪ Accreditation outcome document viz., Certificate, Grade sheet, etc.
Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) may suitably design their
NAAC tab/link to accommodate all relevant documents.

NAAC Feedback
NAAC will :
▪ Go through the Self-Study Report through an online assessment
mechanism ;
▪ Validate & verify the Quantitative metrics (Qnm) in the SSR ;
▪ If institution clears the Pre-qualifier score of 30%, the Student
Satisfaction Survey will be administered and the Peer Team Visit
conducted.
▪ If there is any discrepancy / factual error, then a Deviation Report is
sent to the institution seeking further clarifications.
HEI Response
▪ The institution should edit the information and respond to NAAC within 7 days
▪ Subsequently, NAAC will again check the resubmitted data. Depending on the extent of
deviation, will inform the institution of any of the following
▪ Dates of the Peer Team Visit
▪ Deferring of the Peer Team Visit
▪ Debarring the institution from having a Peer Team Visit

Guidelines to opt out Non-Applicable Metrics
▪ Maximum weightage of metrics that can be opted out shouldn’t exceed
50 marks (up to 5%).
▪ Metrics with maximum of total 20 weightage per criteria can be opted
out.
▪ Criteria 07 is essential. No metrics can be opted out.
▪ Metrics identified as essential cannot be opted out
▪ Qualitative metrics cannot be opted out.
The calculation of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will be
done excluding the 5% metrics as opted out by the HEIs. This decision is aimed at helping HEIs as they will
not be assessed on metrics not applicable to them

Advantages of Accreditation ▪ Institutions get to know its Strengths, Weakness, Targets from the review process ▪ Identify internal areas of planning and resource utilization ▪ Cooperation in the Campus ▪ Funding agencies look for objective data for performance funding ▪ University can initiate innovative and novel techniques of pedagogy ▪ Open for new domains and identity for university ▪ The society look for reliable information on quality education offered ▪ Employers look for reliable information on the quality of education offered to the prospective recruits ▪ Intra and Inter-University Institution collaboration

Eligibility Criterion Assessment & Accreditation ▪ Higher Education Institution (HEI), which is in existence for six years or has a record of at least two passed-out batches ▪ Provided the College is affiliated to a University recognized by UGC for the purposes of affiliation (University, Deemed to be University) ▪ College received the status of Autonomy by UGC ▪ The NAAC accreditation does not cover distance education units of HEI and off-shore campuses ▪ The institution intending to apply for Assessment and Accreditation by NAAC must upload the information on All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) portal. AISHE code (reference number) is one of the requirements for Registration.

University Accreditation Process The process broadly consists of : ▪ Online submission of Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA) and Self-Study Report (SSR) ; ▪ Data Validation and Verification (DVV) by NAAC ; ▪ Student Satisfaction Survey (SSS) by NAAC ; ▪ Peer Team Visit ; and ▪ Institutional Grading.

  • 7. Why is there an IIQA process? The purpose of the IIQA process is: ▪ To ascertain the eligibility of the institution for comprehensive assessment and accreditation by NAAC. ▪ To ensure that the applicant institutions fulfils statutory requirements of agencies which govern it ▪ Fee Structure ▪ New Fee Structure (w.e.f. 1st April, 2021) ▪ IIQA Fee Rs. 25,000/- + GST 18% (Non-refundable)* * In case of rejection of IIQA application, HEIs may resubmit IIQA applications for maximum of three attempts without IIQA fees, including the rejection attempt, within the period of a year from the first application of IIQA

  • 9. ▪ For Universities and Professional Institutions ▪ 50% of Total fee (Non-refundable) along with the online submission of SSR. ▪ •Balance 50% of total fees along with 18% GST before 15 days from the date of on site visit. ▪ •The A & A fees and expenses on TA & logistics of peer team would be reimbursed as per NAAC guidelines. Assessment & Accreditation (A & A) Fee Type Total amount of A & 1 to 10 Department INR 300,000+GST 18% >10 Departments INR 740,000 + GST 18 %

MANDATORY DISCLOSURE ON THE HEI’s WEBSITE ▪ SSR submitted online, to be uploaded after DVV process only (.pdf format). ▪ Data templates are to be uploaded along with the SSR. ▪ Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR – Year-wise). ▪ Accreditation outcome document viz., Certificate, Grade sheet, etc. Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) may suitably design their NAAC tab/link to accommodate all relevant documents.
  • 11. DVV Process DVV Partner Verifies the Repost to Ensure Correctness
  • 12. NAAC Feedback NAAC will : ▪ Go through the Self-Study Report through an online assessment mechanism ; ▪ Validate & verify the Quantitative metrics (Qnm) in the SSR ; ▪ If institution clears the Pre-qualifier score of 30%, the Student Satisfaction Survey will be administered and the Peer Team Visit conducted. ▪ If there is any discrepancy / factual error, then a Deviation Report is sent to the institution seeking further clarifications.
  • 13. HEI Response ▪ The institution should edit the information and respond to NAAC within 7 days ▪ Subsequently, NAAC will again check the resubmitted data. Depending on the extent of deviation, will inform the institution of any of the following ▪ Dates of the Peer Team Visit ▪ Deferring of the Peer Team Visit ▪ Debarring the institution from having a Peer Team Visit

Guidelines to opt out Non-Applicable Metrics ▪ Maximum weightage of metrics that can be opted out shouldn’t exceed 50 marks (up to 5%). ▪ Metrics with maximum of total 20 weightage per criteria can be opted out. ▪ Criteria 07 is essential. No metrics can be opted out. ▪ Metrics identified as essential cannot be opted out ▪ Qualitative metrics cannot be opted out. The calculation of Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) will be done excluding the 5% metrics as opted out by the HEIs. This decision is aimed at helping HEIs as they will not be assessed on metrics not applicable to them
