Zaw Naing discusses Myanmar's ports and opportunities for offshore supply base development to support the growing oil and gas industry. Existing ports are too shallow for modern vessel needs. Several deep sea port projects are underway but will take time. There is an urgent need for investors to develop offshore supply bases, with suggested locations including Kawthoung, Dawei, Myeik, Mawlamyine, Yangon, and West Port. The government's approval and role in facilitating private development through regulation and protection is important to attract investors.

23. Investors Needed
o For Myanmar offshore E&P, a remaining question is about the
ports and Supply Bases for servicing the industry.
o The country’s existing ports are too small and shallow for most
modern needs.
o The deep sea port development projects together with the
special economic zones (SEZ) developments in Dawei, Kyauk
Phyu, West Coast, and Maw La Myaing / Kalagauk are taking
time, and have different purposes.
o INVESTORS for Offshore Supply Base are NEEDED
URGENTLY!
25. Government’s Role
o Myanmar Government’s URGENT approval for those

Encouraged!
o Government should govern.
