It includes an introduction to the author, definitions of educational technology, discussions of how technology can be beneficial or detrimental to learning, and descriptions of concepts like Bloom's taxonomy and the cone of experiences. The roles of technology in learning are explored, such as how it can transform the teacher's role from lecturer to supporter. The document emphasizes that technology should be used properly to enhance education rather than distract or replace human interaction.
Educational technology, sometimes shortened to EduTech or EdTech, is a wide field. Therefore, one can find many definitions, some of which are conflicting. Educational technology as an academic field can be considered either as a design science or as a collection of different research interests addressing fundamental issues of learning, teaching and social organization. This slideshow presentation contains the important information about the importance of technology in the field of education.

3. Hi! I’m Almira May Estrada Cacal
BEEd student’s of Palawan State
University. I live in Sofronio
Espaῆola Palawan and I love to
bond with my family, I have two
brothers and I’m the only girl
among the three. A little trivia
about me I like to read books
about mythological story, R.L.
Stine and many more and I like to
eat my mamas cook.
4. • What is Educational Technology?
Educational technology is defined by
the association for educational communications
and technology as "the study and ethical practice
of facilitating learning and improving performance
by creating, using, and managing appropriate
technological processes and resources."
7. The technology in the classroom can be a
distraction for students, that decentralizes it’s
attention to social networks and others especially
when the technology used isn’t related to the class
or when teachers use it without having anything to
do with the topic that is being developed.
Also the technology does not allow students
interact and relate with their peers, making it not
can realize a group learning process.
8. Technology is a blessing for man. With Technology,
there is a lot that we can do which we could not do
then. When not used properly, technology becomes a
detriment to learning and development.
Technology is made for man and not man for
technology. Technology is made for the teacher and
not the teacher for technology. This means that
technology is meant to serve man in all aspects of life
including instruction. It is man, and is the context of
the classroom, the teacher, who determines how
technology ought to be used in order to reap the
maximum benefits that come along with technology.
9. Technology contributes much to the improvement of
the teaching-learning process and to the
humanization of life. It is indeed a blessing.
In education, technology is bane when:
1. the learner is made to accept as gospel truth
information they get from internet
2. the learner surfs the internet for pornography
3. the tv makes the learner a mere spectator not an
active participant in the drama of life
4. we make use of internet to do character
assassination of people whom we hardly like.
5. we use overuse and abuse tv or film viewing as
strategy to kill time.
10. BOON -> benefits.
In our generation for today, technology is important in
everyday life. Because technology gives more benefits for us,
this is the attempt to solve the problem of survival,
capturing enough energy and converting it into human
needs and also to make life easier. That are some benefits of
technology.
Educators are the most user of technology, they use it
for their assignments, activities or anything that can used an
internet, and we used it to communicate in other countries
or even in our country wherever we are. So that is the
advantages of technology in our daily life.
11. BANE -> poison or cause to destroy life.
The disadvantages of technology is we will become a lazy
person and we will become dependent. Like for example, we have a
library in our school, there’s so many books in that room, but most
of the students they not research in the library instead they
research in the internet. Because they not suffering to search their
assignments or anything. And it can take addiction for us, we lost
our money for our bad habit.
But the answer is in you, how to use an technology and not
mistreat their use. It’s up to you if you want to poison your life in
the use of technology or take a benefits from our technology.
12. The roles of Educational Technology in learning.
The role of technology in the classroom
is ever changing. Those who utilize and
embrace the use of technology in the
classroom are better prepared to serve
the next generation of learners.
13. This are some roles;
a. Gone are the days of a teacher standing
in front of a room full of students, lecturing
them.
14. In the current classroom,
computers, tablets, iPods, etc.
fill the hands of the students
and classrooms. Teachers no
longer dictate facts to the
students, but inspire students
to extend their knowledge and
ask questions. Teachers are
supporters and promote
thinking. The role of
technology in the classroom is
rapidly changing and creating a
new atmosphere of learning.
15. According to Richard E. Mayer and his 12
Principles of Multimedia Learning, students
learn better when words are joined with
pictures instead of just words alone. Teachers
can utilize this idea when creating different
multimedia projects and lessons for their
students. This can be implemented into any
classroom.
16. Technology makes the world a new place;
> delivery vehicles for instructional lessons
> technology serves as a teacher
> technology is a learning tool to learn with not from.
17. New Blooms Taxonomy
BLOOM’S REVISED TAXONOMY Creating Generating new ideas,
products, or ways of viewing things Designing, constructing,
planning, producing, inventing. Evaluating Justifying a decision or
course of action Checking, hypothesising, critiquing,
experimenting, judging Analysing Breaking information into parts
to explore understandings and relationships Comparing,
organizing, deconstructing, interrogating, finding Applying Using
information in another familiar situation Implementing, carrying
out, using, executing Understanding Explaining ideas or concepts
Interpreting, summarising, paraphrasing, classifying, explaining
Remembering Recalling information Recognizing, listing,
describing, retrieving, naming, finding Retrieved from
18. Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy (RBT) employs the use of 25 verbs
that create collegial understanding of student behavior and learning
outcome.
Bloom’s Revised Taxonomy
• Taxonomy of Cognitive Objectives
• 1950s- developed by Benjamin Bloom
• Means of expressing qualitatively different kinds of thinking
• Been adapted for classroom use as a planning tool
• Continues to be one of the most universally applied models
• Provides a way to organise thinking skills into six levels, from the
most basic to the more complex levels of thinking
• 1990s- Lorin Anderson revisited the taxonomy
• As a result, a number of changes were made Original Terms New
Terms
• Evaluate, Synthesis
• Analysis
• Application
19. • Comprehension
• Knowledge
•Creating
•Evaluating
•Analysing
•Applying
•Understanding
•Remembering Change in Terms
• The names of six major categories were changed from noun to verb forms.
• As the taxonomy reflects different forms of thinking and thinking is an
active process verbs were used rather than nouns.
• The subcategories of the six major categories were also replaced by verbs
and some subcategories were reorganised.
• The knowledge category was renamed. Knowledge is an outcome or
product of thinking not a form of thinking per se. Consequently, the word
knowledge was inappropriate to describe a category of thinking and was
replaced with the word remembering instead.
• Comprehension and synthesis were retitled to understanding and creating
respectively, in order to better reflect the nature of the thinking defined in
each category.
23. The cone of experience
is a visual model, a pictorial device that presents bands of
experience arranged according to degree of abstraction and degree
of difficulty.
Direct purposeful experiences-
these are first hand experiences which serve as the
foundation of our learning. We build our reservoir of meaningful
information and ideas though seeing, hearing, tasting and smelling.
Contrived experiences-
in here, we make use of representative models of mocks ups
reality for practical reasons and so that we can make the real-life
accessible to the students perceptions and understanding.
Dramatized experiences-
by dramatization, we can participate in a reconstruct
experienced, even though the original event is far removed from us
in time.
Demonstrations- it is visualized explanation of an important fact.
24. Cone of experience by Edgar Dale
is an effective tool to be use in classroom instruction more captivating
and learning experiences more meaningful. Since students or pupils are
visual learners then this cone will likewise be helpful and instrument to
achieve school goals and objectives. Starting from the base we have
direct purposeful experiences up to the pinnacle which is verbal
symbols. This does not mean that we must start from the base up to the
pinnacle but we can use it vice versa since we have different
experiences to be achieved in teaching students or pupils. The cone of
experiences continually interact and fluid, meaning it moves freely to
each level without focusing only to one cone of experience. Use such
instructional media that fits in each cone of experience towards our
students or pupils to make the classroom an ideal learning environment
for them.
26. Especially in the 21st century the
technology is undeniably plays a
central role in modern life. We are
also exposed to different materials
highlighting the importance of
integrating technology in the
classroom.
27.
28. MY REFLECTION
Computer should not just be used on playing games, posting
nude photos and etc. Which could deprive other's rights.
Rather it used be used in a correct way. Instead of playing
online games why don’t we use google for our assignment over
the net? of just simply visit the educational website, in that
way we could gain knowledge.
Educational technology is indeed very helpful to us. But it
should not be abused or be used in a wrong way because i
believe that these technologies are not invented to destroy or
to degrade all humanity rather these are being invented to help
us in all aspect of our lives.
Anent to this, students should be taught how to use
it properly. But teaching alone may not be enough for them to
learn the teacher should also let their students experience a
thing in order for them understand what it is all about.
