My Mother Is My Hero Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic "My Mother Is My Hero" might initially seem like a
straightforward task due to the emotional connection one has with their mother. However,
delving into the intricacies of such a personal and significant relationship can pose challenges.
The difficulty lies not only in expressing the profound admiration and love for one's mother but
also in capturing the essence of the heroism that is often found in the daily sacrifices and selfless
acts that mothers perform.
Navigating the fine line between sentimentality and depth can be a challenge. One might find it
challenging to strike the right balance, ensuring that the essay resonates emotionally with the
reader while also maintaining a coherent structure and well-articulated ideas. Describing the
heroism of a mother may involve recounting specific instances, but the challenge is to transcend
the ordinary and convey the extraordinary impact that these everyday heroes have on their
children's lives.
Another difficulty may arise from the need to avoid clichГ©s and generic statements. The
temptation to use well-worn phrases and expressions may undermine the uniqueness of one's
personal experience. To make the essay stand out, it is essential to find a distinctive voice and
narrative that authentically represents the individual's thoughts and emotions.
Moreover, there might be a struggle to encapsulate the myriad facets of a mother's heroism
within a limited word count. From nurturing and caregiving to instilling values and resilience,
the challenge is to highlight various dimensions of heroism without diluting the central message.
Selecting the most poignant anecdotes and impactful moments becomes a crucial aspect of the
writing process.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the theme "My Mother Is My Hero," the difficulty lies
in navigating the emotional terrain with finesse, avoiding clichГ©s, and effectively capturing the
multifaceted heroism that mothers embody. It's a delicate balance of sentiment and substance,
requiring careful consideration of language, structure, and narrative. Ultimately, the goal is to
craft an essay that not only celebrates the personal hero but also resonates universally with
readers.

Comparison Between the Notebook Movie and Book Essay
Enduring power of love: The Notebook The Notebook, written by Nicolas Sparks,
can be named one of the best American romantic novels. The book portrays every
trait in a guy or girl would desire to have in a significant other. According to Nicolas
Sparks, it is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, tales that
moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true loveall over again . The
Notebook was on the New York Times best seller list within the very first week of
release. It spent over a year as a hardcover best seller. Theresa Park, Nicolas Sparks
agent, discovered the book after going through her slush pile, without hesitation, Park
offered to represent him. In 1995, one year later, Sparks agent... Show more content

Another strength in this movie was the plot. Without a good plot, there would be
no point to the movie. The last and final strength in The Notebook is emotion. This
film takes one through every motion imaginable. As for examples, when Allie and
Noah split, the emotional response automatically takes a tole on someone. It s as
if, your actually apart of the movie. In the book, Allison and Noah met in 1932, at
the time Allison was 15 and Noah was 17. But in the movie, they met in the year of
1940, where they both were around the same age of 17. According to Cassavetes,
(unsolved), this movie was filmed in South Carolina because of its 1040 s look.
Allison and Noah meet at a carnival, where Allison is very fond of Noah. With love
in the air, they spent the rest of the night together until the carnival was over.
However, in the movie, Noah became infatuated with Allison, and went to the
extreme of insanity by jumping on the ferry s wheel to ask her out. Noah plays
remarkable in both and just makes the audience fall in love with his character. With
most summer romances follows heartache. As for Noah and Allison, their fairytale
love weren t excluded. When the summer ended, Allison had to return back home,
leaving Noah behind. With heartache comes conflict, according to the movie, Allison
and Noah got into a huge fight before she left, which ultimately lead them regretting
the whole disagreement. Nicolas Sparks, captured this moment perfectly,
Zoos In The Zoo
Even in the midst of a technological revolution, we try to preserve the natural greens
and wildlife; be it parks, pets, or small house plants. The society today might regard a
zoo for its famed wild animals standing high and mighty within the concrete jungle,
but is that what truly happens in confinement as well?
Zoos are first and foremost for people not animals. Zoos exist to serve the human
gaze though they portray themselves as the arks of the animal kingdom, safeguarding
the future of biodiversity. And it is true that many zoos do have conservation,
breeding, and reintroduction programs, which are certainly noble projects. But what
about the rest of the animals that are not endangered? At the National Zoo, only one
in five of the animals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He stalked children from his underwater window, prompting zoo staff to put up

Others might argue that zoos preserve species whose habitat has been destroyed or
wiped out. The zoos suggest that they sustain the species in captivity until the cause
of expiration is fixed, and then successfully reintroduce the animals to the wild,
resulting in a healthy, self sustaining population but in truth. Animal theme parks are
basically zoos; however, they are more into the entertainment aspect of the animals
for the people, at the animals expense. Animal theme parks, such as Sea World, tend
to show off the animals, ride the animal, and put them on display for the tourists
entertainment.
We, as humans, take our own liberty quite seriously. Indeed, we consider liberty to be
one of our inalienable rights. But too many of us apparently feel no obligation to
grant the same right to animals, who, because they cannot defend themselves against
our sophisticated methods of capture and because they do not speak our language,
cannot claim it for
Sheila Mant Quotes
I have read the short story Sheila Mant by W.D. Wetherell. In this story a fourteen
year old boy likes a girl and asks her to go to a concert with him. He takes her there
on a canoe and encounters a dilemma when he has to choose between Sheila and the
bass. In this journal, I will be predicting whether the boy will chose Sheila or the bass.

The boy knows all about largemouth bass, even their scientific name. He also has
all the name brand equipment for fishing such as Pflueger and Rapala. The name
brand equipment is important because it must mean he is extremely committed to
fishing. The last reason he might choose the bass is because he is extremely
dedicated to fishing. As the text states, I say automatically, because I never went
anywhere that summer without a fishing rod (Wetherell 2). The boy was
constantly fishing or practicing his casts. Fishing was not something he had to
think about, it was just instinct to grab his rod anytime he went somewhere.
Fishing for bass is tremendously automatic for the boy. Secondly, the other
decision the boy might make is to pick Sheila. He might select Sheila because he
creeps on her constantly. As explained in the story, I had learned all her moods. If
she lay flat on the diving board...Sitting up, arms tucked around her long, suntanned
legs, she was approachable (Wetherell 1). The boy was regularly creeping on Sheila
and learning all her poses. He would try to spy on her parties. He might pick
The Hobbit And Divergent Comparison
Comparative Essay
Even though each book has a different story, they all have things in common. The
structures of The Hobbit By: J. R. R. Tolkien and Divergent By: Veronica Roth have
similar themes, but differ in narration and genre. This creates their different and
unique styles and meanings.
The Hobbit is a saga with different stories within each chapter. It gives the sense of
adventure and fantasy that draws the reader in. There are dwarves, trolls, and
hobbits that carries your mind off to a land different from your own. Tolkien use the
narrator as an omnipresent third party. Through this we are able to see every action
and have a better understanding of the plot. The Hobbit displays that we should leave
our comfort zone sometimes and discovery ourselves.
Divergent is a story about a dystopian Chicago entering into a rebellious society.
This genre has become a popular category for today s reader. Some even say that
this story is basically the same as other compositions that have appeared in recent
years. We get to know the main character in a personal way because she is the

They have similar themes on how the characters act. They have special qualities
and think in unique ways. Bilbo has a drive for adventure and eventually finds that
he is capable to do more than what most hobbits are suppressed from doing when he
finds the ring. Similarly, Tris finds out that she is different from other people in her
community. She is divergent. *Gasp* Divergents are not like other people, they are
thought to be those who will ruin the system. Tris shows everyone the truth of

High School Football Pros And Cons
What is Football? Football is a brutal sport that can have lifelong consequences. It s
dangerous and overrated. It has become a business that is only concerned about
winning at the cost of maiming players, but people love it. Football players suffer
more concussions than athletes in any other high school sport. Is this beloved game
worth the risks, or should schools do away with it? We shouldn t let teens ruin their
lungs with cigarettes, so why would we allow them to damage their brains in the
name of football? I have never played the sport, but I have friends that play and they
re always injured in some way. It s just pointless. High school footballplayers can
undergo significant brainchanges after just one season, even if they don t get
Zombie Consumerism In White Noise by Don DeLillo
Addiction... it is a word that almost everyone is afraid of. The most common
addictions are on: cigarettes, drugs or alcohol. There are million cases all around the
world connected with these kinds of problems. People are concentrating on them and
are not aware that there are less severe kinds such as: Zombie Consumerism. When
we buy without thinking, motivated by a super low price, passion or enormous
appetite we are guilty of Zombie Consumerism. Shopping is seen by many addicts
as a release from stress and pain, so it can be assumed the inner working cognitively
for a shopping addict would become similar to that of a drug addict or alcohol addict.
The characters in White Noise are victims of Zombie Consumerism.
One of the main themes around which the novel is structured is death. The characters
in this novel realize that they are surrounded by death and that there is no escape.
Even though they are aware that the death is brought to them upon the products they
buy and it causes them to suffer both physically and mentally, they are ignoring the
fact and they turn to the illusive comfort that consumerism provides. The characters
turn to consumerism as a way of escaping death. The products they buy create some
kind of comfort and seem as a solution of many problems. They become desperate
because they believe that buying unnecessary products continuously will help them
with their hopeless situation. Good example for this situation is the drug Dylar.

Effectiveness Of Reading Comprehension Strategies
This paper focuses on two major concerns: the effectiveness of reading
comprehension strategies and the effectiveness of professional development. There
has been a great amount of study and writing on both topics. In addition to these
subtopics, the topic of reading inventories will also be explored with regards to the
Scholastic ReadingInventory and the use of these tools in evaluating comprehension
in reading.
Reading comprehension strategies. Throughout the history of reading education, there
has been extensive research on phonological awareness and phonics. More recently,
educational theorists have also recognized and researched the need for instructing
students in the use of comprehension strategies in reading (Muspratt, Luke, Freebody,
1997). Block, Gambrell, and Pressley (2002) state The message is clear the most
important thing about reading is comprehension (p. 3)
Reading comprehension is the process of acquiring meaning from written text (
Block, Gambrell, Pressley, 2002, p. 4) and is an interactive process involving the
reader, the text, and the context (p. 5). While there are many ideas on the most
effective way to teach comprehension skills, most agree on a few basic skills that
students should know. Keene and Zimmerman (1997) identify 7 key comprehension
strategies: making connections, visualizing, questioning, inferring, synthesis,
problem solving, and deciding what is important. Making connections involves the
use of the reader s schema,

Gaia In The Porgony
Firstly, Gaia is represented seemingly both as an abstract concept and a semi
anthropomorphised deity. She is described as Vast Earth (Hesiod, Theogony, 61)
implying that she is an object, or a non sentient entity. Conversely, she is also able
to speak as she does to her sons (Hesiod, Theogony, 66 9), and as she is pregnant she
is strained and stretched (Hesiod, Theogony, 61) and showing a humanlike
discomfort. This demonstrates a struggle to keep Earth a purely objectified concept
and a simultaneous failure to fully humanise her, resulting in a contradictory
depiction of Gaias existence in Theogony. However, this method of characterisation
does succeed in allowing the concept of Earth in this story to be relatable to the
audience. If... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She speaks to her sons, saying that their father is a reckless fool (Hesiod,
Theogony, 66), and this same respect you may expect the sons to owe their father
is non existent here. What this does is put Gaia in contrast with Ouranos, painting
her as the character who was wronged and ought to be sympathised with, as
opposed to Ouranos, causing pain and committing his wicked crime (Hesiod,
Theogony, 68). It also makes Gaia further appear to be a more positively portrayed
character in these lines, the good juxtaposed with Ouranos evil. Despite the fact
that she is described as devising a clever, evil plan, (Hesiod, Theogony, 62), it does
appear that Gaia is the more favourable character in this segment of the story. She
is, in opposition, the lesser of two evils. Furthermore, she is still being described as
clever, so even if it is true that what she is doing is evil, it is not portrayed as foolish
in the same way Ouranos had

started. I sat in the back where the public sits, facing the judge bench. The courtroom
was cold and quiet. Especially it was very small, much smaller and less impressive
than I expected.. Everyone was in formal dressing code. There were just a few
number of spectators and family members in the court room. There was a clerk
who was typing everything what was happening during the court time. Judge
Krocker appeared to have things under control and had the proceedings moving
forward smoothly. She was a very friendly lady with short blonde hair. She was
listening attentively. She spoke clearly and distinctly so that everyone in the
courtroom could hear. Samuel Gallegos is a white man about 5 8 tall. He looked
quite nervous while some police officers were standing behind him. From what I
understood, this case was really happening back in 2014 and the suspect has
criminal history relating to assault of child and another related case to this case. On

Impact Of Innovation On Public Sector
Bason,C (2010) uses the term public sector innovation to refer to the process of
creating new ideas and turning them into value for society .(Bason,2010) then goes
on to discuss about the value public sector innovation holds and asserts that the public
sector has four major components: productive, service experience, results and
democracy. (Bason, 2010, p.34)
There is evidence that innovation plays a crucial role in regulating in the public sector
. Recent developments in public sector organisations have heightened the need for
innovation, so this essay seeks to examine the use of innovation in key public sector
institutions, e.g. healthcare and will also identify the challenges and advantages of
co production/personalisation and innovation in the public sector.
Public sector innovation has less connotations with new product development and is
more greatly linked to enhancing efficiency and quality of outcome. It consists of
internal organisational procedures and structures leading, for instance to innovative
ways to customer services which is commonly labelled as client service innovation or
examples such as new methods to attain clients which is also described as marketing
innovation . (Chryssou, 2014)
Pivotal examples of innovation include, new technological use, the desire towards
public centric procedures with the outlook to provide uncomplicated services and
more suitability. Additionally, employee empowerment which refers to granting staff

leggings, shirts, long cloaks and shoulder to waist length mantles. These were
made from the skins of deer buckskin raccoon, beaver, otter and moose. Mohawk
women wore wraparound skirts, tunics and cloaks. Nearly all clothes were

of animal skin with a high collar that could be left up or folded down. The ankle

The Journey Of The Virgin Suicides
The Virgin Suicides takes place in 1974 in Grosse Point, Michigan. Here lives your
typical family of seven consisting of two parents and five beautiful daughters.
There is 17 year old Therese, 16 year old Mary, 15 year old Bonnie, 14 year old Lux,
and the youngest at 13, Cecilia Lisbon. The film begins with the first attempt at
suicideby the youngest, Cecilia. She was taken to see a professional one time after
her attempt. It was deemed important to help socialize. The girls threw a party in
the basement not knowing that when Cecilia excused herself from the party that
she would throw herself from the window, landing on the fence. Although already
over protective, this stems extreme lookout over the girls and every move they
make by their parents. When summer ended, the girls went back to school. Lux,
the main character for the rest of film, has some problems of her own that are not
acknowledged by her parents. After Lux came home a day late from the
homecoming dance, all four of the remaining girls are put into isolation from the
rest of the world. This causes the girls to communicate via Morse code to the
neighbor boys who were always curious about them. It was clear that Cecilia
suffered from depression due to her attempts of suicide, but it was not obvious that
the other girls may have had severe depression either until what seems like a suicide
pact was planned so that the boys across the street would find them all dead, which
they did. Their parents promptly moved

Buddha, Buddhism And The Buddhist Philosophy
Regardless of who we are or where we come from, we are unfortunate enough to be
subject to a world consisting of change, pre established social elements, opinions and
beliefs, which, though we may be unaware of them while they work their magic on
us, ultimately serve to wrap us in a prison of thought. At the same time, there exist
modifiers which may serve to free us. Depending on the right conditions, the time, we
can be fortunate enough to see through the covering pulled over our head at birth, to
the true explanation of why we re here, the truth of our existence. Because of this, I
have chosen to do my research paper on Buddha, Buddhismand the Buddhist
philosophy. The first thing I would like to address is the history of Buddha. When
Siddhartha Gautama was born, a wise man came to his father, the king, and told
him that his son would either be a great king or a great holy man. The king was
worried because he wanted his son to follow in his footsteps and become king. So
Siddhartha was raised in luxury and his father made sure nothing would trouble
him so that he would learn to love all the earthly things and would not choose to
give everything up and become a holy man. He was married to a beautiful princess
of a neighboring country and they had a son, but he was still not happy. One day
he went out with his chariot to see the town. As he came near the town he saw a
frail old man and he was troubled by this as he had never seen anyone who was old.

the story of Medusa which is well known around the world. She was young and
very alluring at first, but turned into as hideous creature. Medusa is considered one
of the most tragic myths ever to be told. Medusas life was beautiful at first, she
lived in the utmost place by the Hesperides beyond Oceanus. She was the daughter
of Phorkys and Keto and their parents were Gaea or Earth and Oceanus or Ocean.
She was also one of the gorgon sisters, who were Sthenno and Euryale, but Medusa
was the only mortal of the three. Medusa was represented as a very beautiful female;

But somehow, fifty years later, I keep thinking that there might have been another
way, besides war, to achieve the same end (Collier and Collier 211). The quote

in 1775. To many people in the book, both sides believe that war is always unfair.
War could tear families or people apart or bring them together as a group to fight.

and Collier 55). This shows that even war can tear the two brothers that love each
other apart. Families can still be teared apart from any type of war.
Another reason why the authors are against war is due to the clash of generations.
During the American Revolution, Yale students would go to get weapons and
they would join the war. The younger adults believe that they should join the war to
fight for freedom. Yale students did rush away to get weapons and join the war in
1775 (Collier and Collier 214). These college students are sacrificing their lives to
fight for their own freedom. On the other hand, the adults say that war is bad and
that no one should fight. Grownups believe that it is not worth it to fight for their
own freedom. Many people say that war is unfair or not worth it. I think men of
common sense will prevail. Nobody wants rebellion except fools and hotheads

What You Think Is A Successful Brand
Identify what you think is a successful brand . This may be a multi national
corporation, a celebrity, a charity, a social movement, a subculture, or any other well
known entity. How does this brand effectively use graphic design content (perhaps
across a variety of media) to construct and maintain their identity and ideology. You
may choose to use historic examples in order to demonstrate how the brand may have
adapted over the years.
Personally I am pretty familiar with the graphic design concepts and marketing
campaign design as well, but anyone, who s got some understanding of this area will
assure you, that it all starts with the appearance. It is that simple, and it also applies
to both your clients and lovers.

As for it, it has been a long term strategy lasting for quite some time now. Coca Cola
uses its red colours since its launching.
Besides, its red colours along with the red background and white colored font
determine its whole strategy. This element is an important one for the prosperity of
such a huge company. What s more, it is a highly significant moment, and an
essential component; it is the whole identity of the company, which has always
depended on this colour.
Also, if you have ever thought of what a successful brand should be, Coca Cola is
probably the best example since its appearance is quite straightforward and
distinguishable.
For instance, all of its posts, bottle designs, advertisements, social activity and
support, receive positive feedback. It seems that this company does not sell so much
of its products, but it does give something more instead Joy and Happiness which can
be easily translated into any other language.
Personally I always say to my friends and partners that the positive attitude is the most
efficient way of communication. No one wants to be beside an unpleasant person, a

Animal Pollution
The environment which we live in is polluted every single day. The carelessness of
humans today is further damaging the ecosystem in some ways, more identifiable
than others. Factory farming is a system of rearing livestock using intensive methods,
by which poultry pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled
conditions (Merriam webster). The animals are forced into the participation of the
supply and demand through cities and towns. Many may be oblivious to the fact that
the animalindustry is a leading factor of pollution. The global movement of intense
meat production is negatively affecting climate changes, ocean pollution and the
animal food chain.
The process of meat production is causing the earth s climate to unnaturally change.
Factory farms use a variety of toxic chemicals to feed, grow and execute the animals.
One of the chemicals used on factory farms is Carbon Dioxide. Burning fossil fuel
(oil and gasoline) releases a considerable amount of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are
hydrocarbons, primarily coal, fuel, oil or natural gas, formed from the remains of
dead plants and animals. It takes, on average 11 times as much fossil fuel to
produce a calorie of animal protein as it does to produce a calorie of grain protein. In
the end, more carbon dioxide is released during the production of meat rather than the
manufacturing of vegetables and plants (Peta, p.1) Another toxic chemical that is
often released into the atmosphere because of factory

Essay On Pediatric Physical Therapist
There is an average of 353,00 babies born each day, an average of 130 million
babies born each year. Out of all the babies being born it is reported in the US
alone, that on average 1 out of 33 babies are born with a birth defect. There are
several kinds of birth defects, in particular are those that have to do with
musculoskeletal as well as neurological problems. Most of these children are seen
by a pediatric physical therapist which specialize in helping rehabilitate children who
suffer from conditions like cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injuries, chronic pain,
cystic fibrosis as well as cancer and many other conditions. What a pediatric physical
therapist does is first evaluate the patient to see what their condition is and where they

The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance
Introduction
HERO, the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance, according to the City of Houston Equal
Rights Ordinance (2014), covers nondiscrimination against sex, race, color, ethnicity,
national origin, age, familial status, marital status, military status, religion, disability,
sexual orientation, genetic information, gender identity, and pregnancy. The
ordinance lists sections of protection within city services and employment,
contracting with the city, public accommodations, private employment, and housing
(Exh A, 2014). (Ord. No. 2014 530, В§ 2(Exh A), 5 28 2014)
Although the ordinance protects several classes of people within five separate
categories, the ordinance became the policy in favor of men in women s bathrooms.
With a lot of attention on transgender people within the last year alone, the media
was able to manipulate public perception by focusing on one aspect of the
ordinance. Many Houstonians, still weary of the LGBTQ community and ill
informed, were fully against the ordinance, claiming to defend their women and
children against predators. Voters believed the ordinance created an open door for
sex crime to increase in the city. Consequently, the ordinance failed to pass with a
60% opposing vote. The ordinance for equality should have passed, however,
Houstonians focused only on their false perceptions and myths of sexual predators,
such as strangers and queers.
HERO initial policy Openly gay mayor Annise Parker introduced the ordinance April

The Myths of Creation
When the modern person ponders the formation of human beings, our mind
automatically goes to Adam and Eve, whom were the first man and woman created
by God according to the Book of Genesis. Before there was Adam and Eve, diverse
cultures came up with myths about the construction of humans. These myths
included: The Song of Creation from the Rig Veda, An African Creation Tale, From
the Popol Vuh, and A Native American Creation Tale How Man Was Created Each
one of these legends gives a diverse perspective on the creation of humanbeings. A

The Mohawk Indians thought that the Sat kon se ri io or the spirit known as Good
Spirit , created people and animals. The Africans believed that Unkulunkulu was the
earliest man to subsist. They said he came from the beds of reeds from the ground
and brought along the plants and animals with him. An African Creation Tale
suggests all living creatures came from the earth s bed. Their culture seems to be
naturalistic; they might have been farmers and herders because of their credence in
everything sprouting from the ground. Although both Native Americans and Africans
conjectures were relatively different, they did share one comparison. They both were
monotheistic believing in one higher power assisting in the birth of mankind. Then
the earth was created by them. So it was, in truth, that they created the earth. Earth!
...they said, and instantly it was made. (From the Popol Vuh pg.14) This presumption
of creation came from the Mayans. They believed the forefathers the Creator, the
Maker, Tepeu, and Gucumatz whom were immortal, created the animals and the first
man. They thought that there was only a sky and a sea before the earth came about.
There was nothing standing; only the calm water, the placid sea, alone and tranquil.
Nothing existed. (From the Popol Vuh pg.14) This folk tale suggests that the Mayans
believed in more than one higher power. They assumed the civilization
Indigenous And Indigenous Religions
Oral Indigenous Indigenous religions, I think, are the most creative. The connection
that the Indigenous people have with the natural world is cool, yet terrifying. When
reading in the textbook Experiencing the World Religions, I learned that scholars did
not used to focus much on religions with no text. Therefore, most Indigenous
religions were not well covered because they were generally oral traditions. Oral
traditions meant that the people had to speak the same language in order to
communicate their beliefs and traditions. Only people of the same language could
follow the traditions. Furthermore, the traditions that died off before they could be
written are now completely lost. However, there are still so many indigenous religions
The Exclusion Of The League Of Nations
To what extent did the exclusion of the United States affect the legitimacy of the

To what extent did the exclusion of the United States affect the legitimacy of the
League of Nations?
Plan of investigation:
In the 1920s in France the League of Nations was created in order to end the first
world war and establish relations between several countries. However, big countries
were excluded such as Germany and the United States. Ві Due to the fact that the
United States was far more economically developed and adapted than other
countries of that time, there was a question about the ways in which the League of
Nations would succeed without it. The focus of this research paper is between
1920 and 1930. To answer the question To what extent did the exclusion of the
united states affect the legitimacy of the league of nations , several websites will
be used to give information about the league of nations early years. Any statements
or opinions in those websites will be used to evaluate the legitimacy of the League
of Nations. Historical Journals and books will also be used as a higher level of
scholarly sources. To avoid bias, books written from authors of other countries will be
analyzed to understand different perspectives. Websites will be used to keep
electronic information and printed information on the same level.

Suicide Causes, Etiologies, And Prevention Strategies
Suicide causes, etiologies, and prevention strategies were examined in Mesa
county of western Colorado. The highest population at risk for completion of
suicide within Mesa county and that of the national average were found to be
White males between the ages of 36 54 years of age. Risk factors of suicide and
demographics of this population were assessed and compared to the efficacy of
current suicideprograms utilized within Mesa county. Data was then compared from
Mesa county s demographics, suicide rates, and prevention programs to current
literature and the District of Columbia, which hosts the lowest suicide rate in the
country. The juxtaposition of current literature and the District of Columbia s suicide
prevention programs to Mesa county s current suicide prevention program were made
to identify the efficacy and areas of improvement needed to further reduce suicide
rates.
Suicide in Mesa County Suicide rates within the United States continue to rise at a
steady rate. Within the past several years, the suicide rate has steadily increased to
12.6 suicide deaths per 100,000 people, which comes to more than 41,000 deaths
per year (Bower, 2016). Fleischmann et al. (2016) found that despite preconceptions,
suicide occurs in approximately 75% of lower to middle class countries. Worldwide,
around 50% of suicides account for violent death in men and 71% in women

It would be difficult to write a statement that explains why we would be less
technologically advanced without Hellenism, but to put it bluntly, without Hellenism,
many of our mathematical formulas would have been centuries away from where we
are now, because many of the early mathematical geniuses were born in the
Hellenistic age. Therefore, without Hellenism, many of those mathematicians might
never have learned math at all because there would be no math teachers from Greece
to help them. In addition, our understanding of the human body would be more
limited and we could still be stuck with the technology we had in the 17th century.
However, thanks to the Greek physicians who came to the Hellenistic cities to share
their research between other researchers and physicians we are now able almost able

Tycho Brahe Essay
Tycho Brahe is remembered for many things: his golden nose, his ignominious
death, and his famous last words. All of these things have gone down in history.
However, Tycho Brahe was well known in his time as a respected and well paid
astronomer. His observations were second to none. He was unsatisfiable and
meticulous in his profession, building two of the finest observatories of his time,
the second because the first was not up to his own high standards. He is still
regarded as one of the best naked eye observationalists of all time (Burke Gaffney,
153).
Tycho was born in 1546 to Otto Brahe and Beate Bille, along with a twin brother
who died before baptism. He was born at his father s estate in Knutsorp in Scania,

Indeed, he wears a prosthetic in all of his most famous portraits. (Remmert, 25) .
Tycho began to gain fame as an astronomer after reporting on a new star in 1572.
Tycho saw a very bright star in Cassiopeia on November 11th, 1572. He fixed its
position with regards to the other stars in the constellation, and continued to
observe it. It began to fade in brightness early the next year, and was only as bright
as Polaris within six months. He also reported on the color changes, from brilliant
white to yellow to red and back to red within that same six months (Hall 274).
These careful observations helped springboard his career as an astronomer, and he
published his findings on De Nova Stella or the New Star in 1574.
His publication also tried to shed light on the astrological implications of this star.
Tycho predicted strong cosmic influences in Scandinavia and a new order in Europe.
He also implied that he knew how to better understand astrology, but made no
attempts to either explain this better astrology in writing or to give any sort of
temporal indication for his new order. (Christianson, Comet 118 ).
His prominent station in Danish society left him in an awkward situation. He wanted
nothing more than to continue his studies of the heavens, but it was unheard of for a
man of his status. He therefore spent some time giving lectures at the University of
Copenhagen. His talks centered on the history of Astronomy, including that of
Blood Pressure Regulation
Blood pressure regulation and changes occurring after increase in blood pressure
Each time the heart pumps, it sends blood all over the body to supply organs and
tissues with oxygen and nutrients. The strength of the force created as the heart
pumps blood into the vessels together with the vessels resistance to the blood flow is
defined as the body s blood pressure (Darovic, 2002). A normal range blood
pressure (BP) must be between 100 130mmHg systolic (when the heart is beating)
and 60 90mmHg diastolic pressure (between heart beats) (Sherwood, 1997). Many
factors can change blood pressure, including exercise and diet. The regulation of BP
within the body is tightly maintained by nerves, hormones and renal control in
relation to three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These signal messengers will rapidly communicate with the autonomic neural system,
in order to decrease sympathetic influence on the heart and blood vessels and
increase parasympathetic activity, so that mean arterial blood pressure returns to its
normal. By releasing the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (Ach), parasympathetic
nerves will decrease the frequency of the action potentials of the sinoatrial (SA) and
the atrioventricular (AV) nodes, found in the heart. This mechanism will decrease
cardiac output by reducing the number of heart beats and the organ s force of
contractions (Milnor, 1990). Parasympathetic activity will also expand vessels,
decreasing their resistance to blood flow and therefore decreasing total peripheral
resistance. As veins get wider, they will retain blood causing a reduction in venous
return to the heart. Decreased amount of blood in the ventricles at the end of diastole
(period between contractions of the heart) will consequently decrease cardiac output
and blood pressure (Constanzo, 2012).
Electrolytes such as sodium and chloride are essential as they help to maintain
body s water balance. However, excessive dietary intake of salt increases the
amount of water retained by the body and as a result increases blood volume
(Thomas and Bishop, 2007). When the heart senses the rise in blood volume, atrial
and brain type natriuretic peptides (ANP and BNP) are synthesized and released. The

Gender Identity And Identity
While identity and identification are just word variations of one another, they
actually convey different but powerful meanings and outlooks. This theme of identity
versus identification is prevalent in the South Asian community and, therefore,
prominent amongst the readings throughout this course. Identity is the embodiment
of one s beliefs and values that shapes who they are and how they express themselves.
In contrast, identification refers to the manner in which one identifies oneself; it is
subjective, as it is not necessarily an authentic portrayal of one s identity because
white communities too often posit the model minority label upon colored, ethnic
communities. The difference between these two terms are both implied or stated
throughout Sayantani Das Dasgupta and Shamita Dasgupta s unique perspective
writings on South Asian feminist issues, Kumarini Silva s research on the label of
brown , Vijay Prashads chapters about solidarity and religion in The Karma of Brown
Folk, and Marina Budhos s coming of age novel Watched about a Bangladeshi teen
whose mistakes led him to spy on his own Muslim community after the 9/11 incident.
Sayantani Das Dasgupta and Shamita Dasgupta s main argument of Woman in exile...
pertains to society s ignorance towards the powerful activist role that Indian feminist
women play in social change movements, which is an inherent issue of gender
identity and identification. The authors provide strong analysis of how Indian

The Components Of Starbucks Organizational Culture
Recommend the key components of Starbucks Organizational Culture that add to its

Hierarchical society has a huge effect on the general execution of an organization.
Authoritative society is the arrangement of imparted, underestimated verifiable
presumptions that a gathering holds and that decides how it sees, contemplates, and
responds to its different surroundings (Barney, 1986). In this paper, I will inspect the
components of Starbucks hierarchical society that added to its accomplishment in a
worldwide economy, survey the adequacy of its administration choices in giving
imaginative offerings to its clients, focus one key administration competency, and
theorize on whether the organization would accomplish long haul supportability as a
worldwide pioneer in the espresso business without the association s CEO, Howard
Shultz.
On account of the accomplishment of Starbucks, its hierarchical society has been
driven and engaged by the originator and CEO, Howard Schultz. Howard needed to
grow the organization and when he went to Italy before the redesign of the first
Starbucks he needed to reflect the ideas of the cafГ©s in Italy. The key viewpoint to
acknowledge here is that hierarchical society influences execution. Howard Schultz
turned into the CEO of Starbucks in 1987. As a business person, he was powerful in

My First Time Hearing About The People s Mind
When somebody says a microaggression to somebody else they don t know how it
effects the other person s mind, and that can go two ways in people s mind, either
they can laugh it off and act like they don t care or it can hurt them bad and make
them want to cry. Most of the time if people hold it in they really care but their pride
is too high for them to say anything to the person. So that can end up messing up their
mindby causing them to have bad thoughts about every little thing somebody says
to them. When people let out how the microaggression hurt them, I believe they
get a sense of relief because they don t have to keep it on their mind for forever. If
you keep it on your mind forever, it s just going to bring you down every day you
don t say anything. During my first time hearing about microaggressions, I thought
it was a small issue around the United States. But to my surprise, I found that
microaggressions were a worldwide issue. When I learned the full meaning of
microaggressions it made think of all the things I ve ever said that could go in that
category. I thought to myself dang that was pretty messed of me to say. As I looked
into them more I saw that there were a lot of elements that tie into microaggressions
such as trigger warnings and political correctness. Microaggressions, brought up
unknowingly or on purpose can cause a lot chaos to college students and around
college campuses by causing a lot of arguments and debates on what is and isn t right
to say.
Sense And Sensibility Play Summary
My impression of the play Sense Sensibility adapted by Jessica Swale was that it
was almost like a soap opera . There were tons of drama throughout the play and
was also was almost two and half hours long. It was based on a family the lives in
England from the mid 90 s called the Dashwood s. Throughout the play it was
mostly based on the struggles that the Dashwood s went through on a daily basis.
The main struggle was them losing their father John Dashwood. They lost their
castle of a house and almost all of the wealth. Everything went to Mr. Dashwood s
half brother and his wife. Also, the love feuds that went on between Elinor
Dashwood and Marianne Dashwood played a huge part of the play. Sense
Sensibility started off with the Dashwood s losing their house and basically all of
their money. This caused great anger and fear for the Dashwood family. Before the
family had to move out of the house one of the protagonist Elinor Dashwood fell in
love with her sister in law s brother Edward. They had to move into their distant
relatives the Middleton s family. Their house wasn t anything special and lived in a
small town. It was hard for the Dashwood s to adjust to a completely different
lifestyle.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lights didn t move with the actor. The Dashwood family were the main
characters of the play and they all wore white clothing, which made them stick out
more. The director made a good call on having them all in white because it made
them seem more important than the others and when the other played a different
character it obvious. The other characters were dressed in typical mid 90 s
England wardrobe with lots of colors and pants. The scenery of the play was based
on the screen in the back of the stage. It was changed throughout different scenes.
The scene would look like you were in a house, or outside in the valley, or by the
ocean. The music in the play was when Marianne would play the piano or

well with just 36 vulnerabilities. We will briefly discuss the contrasting security
models. COMPARISON: The security models of these operating systems can be
compared by using the parameters such as modularity, user privileges,
transparency, automation, and other features such as security by variety.
MODULARITY AND USER PRIVILEGES: Windows based operating systems
had to deal with a number of security flaws and vulnerabilities over its lifetime
because secure computing was least on their agenda. The security for Windows was
designed with reference to the TCSEC orange book and it is a reasonably secure
design. Also the most important difference in privileges is the usage of
administrative account which has access to the registry and such and any
compromise with these credentials and it can affect the entire registry. Linux user
accounts do not usually have root access and hence the damage is limited. Also
Linux minimizes the attack surface by just having one kernel. Users on Linux have
the option of modifying the kernel and OS if needed,
Analysis Of A Rose For Emily By William Faulkner
A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner uses memories or flashbacks, and
unintentional symbolism to show the transition from the old south to the new south.
The short story also focuses on the resistance and ideals that are left in the wake of
this transition. William Faulkner is a renowned Southern novelist, which can only be
assumed that he is because he was born and raised in Mississippi, where he
experienced the conclusion of the conversion while he was still young. William
Faulkners short story contains several instances that can display differences between
the deep rooted south and the new south. For example, Colonel Sartoris, who was the
prior mayor, made up an anecdote so that Emily would not be obligated to pay
taxes, which the author goes on to say that only a man from Colonel Sartoris s
generation and thought could have invented it... (Faulkner, pg. 404). The next cohort
of mayors and aldermen had modern ideas that made the arrangement dissatisfactory,
but Emily still fought and won because she thought Colonel Sartoris was still alive
(Faulkner, pg. 404). Leaders of the new generation were younger and had thoughts
that were more contemporary that could honor the best of the past and progress to
innovativeness. ...Miss Emily s house was left, lifting its stubborn and coquettish
decay above the cotton wagons and gasoline pumps an eyesore among eyesores
(Faulkner, pg. 404). This quote contains how the past is regarded and how the shift is
taking place. Emily s home
Superheavy Elements Research Paper
What is a heavy element? A heavy element is an element with an atomic number
greater than 92. What is a super heavy element? Superheavy elements alters between
disparate groups of people. In most cases, superheavy elements denotes to those
elements with an atomic number bigger than or equal to 112. How are new elements
discovered? The first website I went to, I found and read that new elements are not
quite discovered anymore but they can be made up, for instance using particle
accelerators and nuclear reactions. A new element is made by combining a proton to
an established element. Although when you make a new element it s hard to prove
that you have made a new element, since it blights so hastily. Something else that I
found interesting was that there are assorted experimental techniques that have been
consumed to make different chemical elements. What are some properties of these
artificial elements? Isotopes of assorted elements that are conceived unreally in
accelerator experiments are known to be precarious and radioactive. After being
assembled, they begin to blight, which is them changing into a separate isotope. As
the atomic number of each new heavy element developments, the half life commonly
decreases, meaning that artificial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Half lives for elements in the island of stability may array from seconds to minutes,
although half lives for other superheavy elements may be consistent in micro or
nanoseconds. The sea of instability assigns to a region of elements on the periodic
table that are deeply precarious. These elements have acutely short half lives that may
be consistent in micro or nanoseconds. This region of precarious elements environs

The Synoptic Gospels Of Matthew, Mark, And Luke
Many scholars and philosophers find themselves troubled when trying to make
sense of the Synoptic Gospels found in The Holy Bible. These include The
Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. When looking at them side by side readers
will see that they have many differences and similarities. This has resulted in what
is called The Synoptic Problem; that is, how do we account for these similarities and
differences? Scholars have come up with an applicable solution called the four
source solution Theory. This theory proposes that The Gospel of Markwas the first
Gospelwritten and among the sources that Matthew and Luke used but, there are
stories in Matthew and Luke that are not parallel to anything in Matthew. Where did
these stories come from? Scholars call this the Q Source, a probable oral or written
account that the authors of Matthew and Luke may have used in their writing of
their Gospels. Ehrman describes The Q Source as, The source used by both Matthew
and Luke for the stories they share, principally stories not found in Mark. (pg.61)
Also, there are stories that are found in Luke that did not originate... Show more

Some of these include, Jesus speaking on his way to his crucifixion and speaking to
a group of women. (Luke 23:28) Another example in the Gospel of Luke, is that Jesus
is not as silent as the other Gospels portray him to be during his time of crucifixion.
While being crucified he asks God to forgive those that are doing him wrong and
speaks to a criminal being crucified beside him. He tells the man, Truly I tell you,
today you will be with me in Paradise. (Luke 23:42) One last example is the sun
eclipse and torn curtain of the temple, directly after the death of Jesus. (Luke 23:45)
These are just some of the sole differences that show up only in Luke. This would
back up the statement that besides the Q source and Mark, Luke would have had
other source(s) as
The Issues With Organizational Communication
Issues with Organizational Communication Crises are seen substantially as media
events. Therefore media coverage whether they have been natural or man made; is
indicative of how important, essential and even at times, how down right frustrating
the media has been and will continue to be before, during and after a crisis. Many
people tend to turn to the media and various different media sites (such as Twitter,
Facebook, etc.) to gain pertinent information regarding an event that has taken place
or that is on going. But this has not been done without any issues. When a crisis
occurs sometimes emotions take over and all other plans go out the window.
Communicationis nil at best which can mean that others will suffer. Organization
and communication is the key to the response and recovery efforts of a disaster. At
times before, during and after a disaster there is a lack of inter organizational
networking and/or communication. Inter organization networks are increasingly
portrayed as a more effective form of organization among businesses (Newell and
Swan, 2000). This is essential for businesses in order to be effective in coordinating
the work and required for the development of trust. This makes a huge difference in
the response and recovery phase.
During Hurricane Katrina crisis communication was a huge problem from which it
overshadowed the disaster itself and its aftermath causing politicians and government
officials to waste time arguing than trying to devise a plan to
Jacob Riis How The Other Half Lives Summary
Jacob Riis wrote the book How the Other Half Lives because he wanted to talk
about how poor people live. Riis is trying to make others aware of how poor people
live. How children have to pinch pennies and there s people getting abused. Also
how children are sick and are dying but they don t do anything about it. During the
1900 s there was the biggest wave of immigrants. A. Boss Tweed was shown in jail
because he was convicted of fraud. No, it was showing how even though Tweed is
not around how there is still dishonest government. He does not refer them to the
Charity Organization Society because they would investigate their case in a month or
two then decide if the family was worthy enough to help, while he could help them at
the moment. Explain whether conditions of the poor cities in the late 1800s and early

Often referred to as political machines which was a group of dishonest politicians
that s main goals were to get candidates of their own group elected and to use their
powers to make the leaders of the organization richer. Bosses would lead the
organizations. The conditions in poor cities helped political bosses become more
powerful. Some poor people needed the bosses and were definitely willing to
overlook illegal actions the bosses partook in. In the late 1800 s there was many
immigrants that to America from all over the world. These immigrants were poor and
didn t speak the language. Workers that came from different countries would take the
same jobs the Americans had for lower wages, resulting in them not having enough
money to live comfortably. They would live in a tenement apartments which was an
overcrowded, run down apartment building. Cities had no regulation on garbage

Nursing Homes Are Now For A Five Star Rating System
Essay
Quality Matters Nursing homes are now subject to a five star rating system called
Nursing Home Compare, described on the Medicare Web site. Simply inputting a
nursing home s name or area code allows a user to compare the quality of care at
various locations. According to the article Aging well written by Athan Bezaitis,
he states that this is an important first step but it s not always a choice system.
Discharge agents at hospitals often make decisions regarding where older adults
will go following discharge. What are the views of older adults regarding Assisted
Living Facilities (ALF) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF). Speaking to a lady
who reside at Atlantic shores skilled nursing and Rehab and whom I will refer to
as Mary to respect her privacy and for following the rules and guideline of Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA). Mary states that with all
her chronic ailments and diseases, it is good for her to live within the LTC
because her illness are monitored and her medications are managed well. She
further went on to say that if something goes wrong, help is always readily
available. Another lady who resides at an assisted living facility that I operate gave
me her views of living there. Her history is that of having dementia and she was
becoming so forgetful, she was scared of burning her home down. Therefore, she and
her family decided to move her to a place where she would have assistance in getting
things done. She states
The Asme Code Of Standards Of Reckless Endangerment
Reckless endangerment is an illicit act that can result a substantial or serious
physical harm to property or a person. This kind of behavior is punishable by law
and can result in penalties ranging from a misdemeanor to felony which also carries
mandatory jail time. An Engineer s professional career should exemplify the core
values of engineeringcompetence, professionalism, accountability and honesty as the
underlying rule of conduct. Consequently, all building designers shall make it their
number one priority and responsibility to properly design and use quality parts to
build all structures. The ASME codes of standards reiterate this fact with all the

My Mother Is My Hero Essay. My mom....my hero I love mom, Miss you mom, My hero essay

  • 1. My Mother Is My Hero Essay Crafting an essay on the topic "My Mother Is My Hero" might initially seem like a straightforward task due to the emotional connection one has with their mother. However, delving into the intricacies of such a personal and significant relationship can pose challenges. The difficulty lies not only in expressing the profound admiration and love for one's mother but also in capturing the essence of the heroism that is often found in the daily sacrifices and selfless acts that mothers perform. Navigating the fine line between sentimentality and depth can be a challenge. One might find it challenging to strike the right balance, ensuring that the essay resonates emotionally with the reader while also maintaining a coherent structure and well-articulated ideas. Describing the heroism of a mother may involve recounting specific instances, but the challenge is to transcend the ordinary and convey the extraordinary impact that these everyday heroes have on their children's lives. Another difficulty may arise from the need to avoid clichГ©s and generic statements. The temptation to use well-worn phrases and expressions may undermine the uniqueness of one's personal experience. To make the essay stand out, it is essential to find a distinctive voice and narrative that authentically represents the individual's thoughts and emotions. Moreover, there might be a struggle to encapsulate the myriad facets of a mother's heroism within a limited word count. From nurturing and caregiving to instilling values and resilience, the challenge is to highlight various dimensions of heroism without diluting the central message. Selecting the most poignant anecdotes and impactful moments becomes a crucial aspect of the writing process. In conclusion, while writing an essay on the theme "My Mother Is My Hero," the difficulty lies in navigating the emotional terrain with finesse, avoiding clichГ©s, and effectively capturing the multifaceted heroism that mothers embody. It's a delicate balance of sentiment and substance, requiring careful consideration of language, structure, and narrative. Ultimately, the goal is to craft an essay that not only celebrates the personal hero but also resonates universally with readers. • 2. Comparison Between the Notebook Movie and Book Essay Enduring power of love: The Notebook The Notebook, written by Nicolas Sparks, can be named one of the best American romantic novels. The book portrays every trait in a guy or girl would desire to have in a significant other. According to Nicolas Sparks, it is a celebration of how passion can be ageless and timeless, tales that moves us to laughter and tears and makes us believe in true loveall over again . The Notebook was on the New York Times best seller list within the very first week of release. It spent over a year as a hardcover best seller. Theresa Park, Nicolas Sparks agent, discovered the book after going through her slush pile, without hesitation, Park offered to represent him. In 1995, one year later, Sparks agent... The last and final strength in The Notebook is emotion. This film takes one through every motion imaginable. As for examples, when Allie and Noah split, the emotional response automatically takes a tole on someone. It s as if, your actually apart of the movie. In the book, Allison and Noah met in 1932, at the time Allison was 15 and Noah was 17. But in the movie, they met in the year of 1940, where they both were around the same age of 17. According to Cassavetes, (unsolved), this movie was filmed in South Carolina because of its 1040 s look. Allison and Noah meet at a carnival, where Allison is very fond of Noah. With love in the air, they spent the rest of the night together until the carnival was over. However, in the movie, Noah became infatuated with Allison, and went to the extreme of insanity by jumping on the ferry s wheel to ask her out. Noah plays remarkable in both and just makes the audience fall in love with his character. With most summer romances follows heartache. As for Noah and Allison, their fairytale love weren t excluded. When the summer ended, Allison had to return back home, leaving Noah behind. With heartache comes conflict, according to the movie, Allison and Noah got into a huge fight before she left, which ultimately lead them regretting the whole disagreement. Nicolas Sparks, captured this moment perfectly,
  • 3. Zoos In The Zoo Even in the midst of a technological revolution, we try to preserve the natural greens and wildlife; be it parks, pets, or small house plants. The society today might regard a zoo for its famed wild animals standing high and mighty within the concrete jungle, but is that what truly happens in confinement as well? Zoos are first and foremost for people not animals. Zoos exist to serve the human gaze though they portray themselves as the arks of the animal kingdom, safeguarding the future of biodiversity. And it is true that many zoos do have conservation, breeding, and reintroduction programs, which are certainly noble projects. But what about the rest of the animals that are not endangered? At the National Zoo, only one in five of the animals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He stalked children from his underwater window, prompting zoo staff to put up barriers to keep the frightened children away from his predatory gaze. Gus neuroticism earned him the nickname the bipolar bear, Others might argue that zoos preserve species whose habitat has been destroyed or wiped out. The zoos suggest that they sustain the species in captivity until the cause of expiration is fixed, and then successfully reintroduce the animals to the wild, resulting in a healthy, self sustaining population but in truth. Animal theme parks are basically zoos; however, they are more into the entertainment aspect of the animals for the people, at the animals expense. Animal theme parks, such as Sea World, tend to show off the animals, ride the animal, and put them on display for the tourists entertainment. We, as humans, take our own liberty quite seriously. Indeed, we consider liberty to be one of our inalienable rights. But too many of us apparently feel no obligation to grant the same right to animals, who, because they cannot defend themselves against our sophisticated methods of capture and because they do not speak our language, cannot claim it for

As the text states, I say automatically, because I never went anywhere that summer without a fishing rod (Wetherell 2). The boy was constantly fishing or practicing his casts. Fishing was not something he had to think about, it was just instinct to grab his rod anytime he went somewhere. Fishing for bass is tremendously automatic for the boy. Secondly, the other decision the boy might make is to pick Sheila. He might select Sheila because he creeps on her constantly. As explained in the story, I had learned all her moods. If she lay flat on the diving board...Sitting up, arms tucked around her long, suntanned legs, she was approachable (Wetherell 1). The boy was regularly creeping on Sheila and learning all her poses. It has become a business that is only concerned about winning at the cost of maiming players, but people love it. Football players suffer more concussions than athletes in any other high school sport. Is this beloved game worth the risks, or should schools do away with it? We shouldn t let teens ruin their lungs with cigarettes, so why would we allow them to damage their brains in the name of football? Reading comprehension strategies. Throughout the history of reading education, there has been extensive research on phonological awareness and phonics. • 10. Gaia In The Porgony Firstly, Gaia is represented seemingly both as an abstract concept and a semi anthropomorphised deity. She is described as Vast Earth (Hesiod, Theogony, 61) implying that she is an object, or a non sentient entity. Conversely, she is also able to speak as she does to her sons (Hesiod, Theogony, 66 9), and as she is pregnant she is strained and stretched (Hesiod, Theogony, 61) and showing a humanlike discomfort. This demonstrates a struggle to keep Earth a purely objectified concept and a simultaneous failure to fully humanise her, resulting in a contradictory depiction of Gaias existence in Theogony. She speaks to her sons, saying that their father is a reckless fool (Hesiod, Theogony, 66), and this same respect you may expect the sons to owe their father is non existent here. What this does is put Gaia in contrast with Ouranos, painting her as the character who was wronged and ought to be sympathised with, as opposed to Ouranos, causing pain and committing his wicked crime (Hesiod, Theogony, 68). It also makes Gaia further appear to be a more positively portrayed character in these lines, the good juxtaposed with Ouranos evil. Despite the fact that she is described as devising a clever, evil plan, (Hesiod, Theogony, 62), it does appear that Gaia is the more favourable character in this segment of the story. She is, in opposition, the lesser of two evils. Furthermore, she is still being described as clever, so even if it is true that what she is doing is evil, it is not portrayed as foolish in the same way Ouranos had

As I entered the court, the trial has already commenced so I did not really know how a real trial started. I sat in the back where the public sits, facing the judge bench. The courtroom was cold and quiet. Especially it was very small, much smaller and less impressive than I expected.. Everyone was in formal dressing code. There were just a few number of spectators and family members in the court room. There was a clerk who was typing everything what was happening during the court time. Judge Krocker appeared to have things under control and had the proceedings moving forward smoothly. She was a very friendly lady with short blonde hair. She was listening attentively. She spoke clearly and distinctly so that everyone in the courtroom could hear. Samuel Gallegos is a white man about 5 8 tall. He looked quite nervous while some police officers were standing behind him. From what I understood, this case was really happening back in 2014 and the suspect has criminal history relating to assault of child and another related case to this case. (Bason, 2010, p.34) There is evidence that innovation plays a crucial role in regulating in the public sector . Recent developments in public sector organisations have heightened the need for innovation, so this essay seeks to examine the use of innovation in key public sector institutions, e.g. healthcare and will also identify the challenges and advantages of co production/personalisation and innovation in the public sector. • 22. Essay On My Brother Sam Is Dead War Is Never Right But somehow, fifty years later, I keep thinking that there might have been another way, besides war, to achieve the same end (Collier and Collier 211). The quote shows how there could possibly be another way to solve the British and Patriots argument. In James and Christopher Collier s historical fiction book, My Brother Sam Is Dead, the story takes place during the American Revolution which occurred in 1775. To many people in the book, both sides believe that war is always unfair. War could tear families or people apart or bring them together as a group to fight. The Patriots fight for their own freedom by revolting and creating the American Revolution. In the historical fiction novel, My Brother Sam Is Dead, there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Sam caught up to Tim, Tim started to blackmail and said that he would shoot the gun at Sam if he got closer. Don t come any closer, Sam, or I ll shoot you (Collier and Collier 55). This shows that even war can tear the two brothers that love each other apart. Families can still be teared apart from any type of war. Another reason why the authors are against war is due to the clash of generations. During the American Revolution, Yale students would go to get weapons and they would join the war. The younger adults believe that they should join the war to fight for freedom. Yale students did rush away to get weapons and join the war in 1775 (Collier and Collier 214). These college students are sacrificing their lives to fight for their own freedom. On the other hand, the adults say that war is bad and that no one should fight. Grownups believe that it is not worth it to fight for their own freedom. Many people say that war is unfair or not worth it. I think men of common sense will prevail. Nobody wants rebellion except fools and hotheads (Collier and Collier 6). Mr.

Factory farming is a system of rearing livestock using intensive methods, by which poultry pigs, or cattle are confined indoors under strictly controlled conditions (Merriam webster). The animals are forced into the participation of the supply and demand through cities and towns. Many may be oblivious to the fact that the animalindustry is a leading factor of pollution. The global movement of intense meat production is negatively affecting climate changes, ocean pollution and the animal food chain. The process of meat production is causing the earth s climate to unnaturally change. Factory farms use a variety of toxic chemicals to feed, grow and execute the animals. One of the chemicals used on factory farms is Carbon Dioxide. Burning fossil fuel (oil and gasoline) releases a considerable amount of carbon dioxide. Fossil fuels are hydrocarbons, primarily coal, fuel, oil or natural gas, formed from the remains of dead plants and animals. It takes, on average 11 times as much fossil fuel to produce a calorie of animal protein as it does to produce a calorie of grain protein. In the end, more carbon dioxide is released during the production of meat rather than the manufacturing of vegetables and plants (Peta, p.1) Another toxic chemical that is often released into the atmosphere because of factory

Plan of investigation: In the 1920s in France the League of Nations was created in order to end the first world war and establish relations between several countries. However, big countries were excluded such as Germany and the United States. Ві Due to the fact that the United States was far more economically developed and adapted than other countries of that time, there was a question about the ways in which the League of Nations would succeed without it. The focus of this research paper is between 1920 and 1930. To answer the question To what extent did the exclusion of the united states affect the legitimacy of the league of nations , several websites will be used to give information about the league of nations early years. Any statements or opinions in those websites will be used to evaluate the legitimacy of the League of Nations. Historical Journals and books will also be used as a higher level of scholarly sources. He fixed its position with regards to the other stars in the constellation, and continued to observe it. It began to fade in brightness early the next year, and was only as bright as Polaris within six months. He also reported on the color changes, from brilliant white to yellow to red and back to red within that same six months (Hall 274). These careful observations helped springboard his career as an astronomer, and he published his findings on De Nova Stella or the New Star in 1574. His publication also tried to shed light on the astrological implications of this star. Tycho predicted strong cosmic influences in Scandinavia and a new order in Europe. The strength of the force created as the heart pumps blood into the vessels together with the vessels resistance to the blood flow is defined as the body s blood pressure (Darovic, 2002). These signal messengers will rapidly communicate with the autonomic neural system, in order to decrease sympathetic influence on the heart and blood vessels and increase parasympathetic activity, so that mean arterial blood pressure returns to its normal. By releasing the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (Ach), parasympathetic nerves will decrease the frequency of the action potentials of the sinoatrial (SA) and the atrioventricular (AV) nodes, found in the heart. This mechanism will decrease cardiac output by reducing the number of heart beats and the organ s force of contractions (Milnor, 1990). Parasympathetic activity will also expand vessels, decreasing their resistance to blood flow and therefore decreasing total peripheral resistance. As veins get wider, they will retain blood causing a reduction in venous return to the heart. Decreased amount of blood in the ventricles at the end of diastole (period between contractions of the heart) will consequently decrease cardiac output and blood pressure (Constanzo, 2012). Electrolytes such as sodium and chloride are essential as they help to maintain body s water balance. However, excessive dietary intake of salt increases the amount of water retained by the body and as a result increases blood volume (Thomas and Bishop, 2007). When the heart senses the rise in blood volume, atrial and brain type natriuretic peptides (ANP and BNP) are synthesized and released. The

This theme of identity versus identification is prevalent in the South Asian community and, therefore, prominent amongst the readings throughout this course. Identity is the embodiment of one s beliefs and values that shapes who they are and how they express themselves. In contrast, identification refers to the manner in which one identifies oneself; it is subjective, as it is not necessarily an authentic portrayal of one s identity because white communities too often posit the model minority label upon colored, ethnic communities. Most of the time if people hold it in they really care but their pride is too high for them to say anything to the person. So that can end up messing up their mindby causing them to have bad thoughts about every little thing somebody says to them. When people let out how the microaggression hurt them, I believe they get a sense of relief because they don t have to keep it on their mind for forever. If you keep it on your mind forever, it s just going to bring you down every day you don t say anything. Linux comes third in the list with 119 vulnerabilities. Windows does surprisingly well with just 36 vulnerabilities. We will briefly discuss the contrasting security models. COMPARISON: The security models of these operating systems can be compared by using the parameters such as modularity, user privileges, transparency, automation, and other features such as security by variety. MODULARITY AND USER PRIVILEGES: Windows based operating systems had to deal with a number of security flaws and vulnerabilities over its lifetime because secure computing was least on their agenda. The security for Windows was designed with reference to the TCSEC orange book and it is a reasonably secure design. Also the most important difference in privileges is the usage of administrative account which has access to the registry and such and any compromise with these credentials and it can affect the entire registry. Linux user accounts do not usually have root access and hence the damage is limited. Also Linux minimizes the attack surface by just having one kernel. Users on Linux have the option of modifying the kernel and OS if needed,
  • 43. Analysis Of A Rose For Emily By William Faulkner A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner uses memories or flashbacks, and unintentional symbolism to show the transition from the old south to the new south. The short story also focuses on the resistance and ideals that are left in the wake of this transition. William Faulkner is a renowned Southern novelist, which can only be assumed that he is because he was born and raised in Mississippi, where he experienced the conclusion of the conversion while he was still young. William Faulkners short story contains several instances that can display differences between the deep rooted south and the new south. For example, Colonel Sartoris, who was the prior mayor, made up an anecdote so that Emily would not be obligated to pay taxes, which the author goes on to say that only a man from Colonel Sartoris s generation and thought could have invented it... (Faulkner, pg. 404). The next cohort of mayors and aldermen had modern ideas that made the arrangement dissatisfactory, but Emily still fought and won because she thought Colonel Sartoris was still alive (Faulkner, pg. 404). Leaders of the new generation were younger and had thoughts that were more contemporary that could honor the best of the past and progress to innovativeness. ...Miss Emily s house was left, lifting its stubborn and coquettish decay above the cotton wagons and gasoline pumps an eyesore among eyesores (Faulkner, pg. 404). This quote contains how the past is regarded and how the shift is taking place. Emily s home

Superheavy elements alters between disparate groups of people. In most cases, superheavy elements denotes to those elements with an atomic number bigger than or equal to 112. How are new elements discovered? The first website I went to, I found and read that new elements are not quite discovered anymore but they can be made up, for instance using particle accelerators and nuclear reactions. A new element is made by combining a proton to an established element. Although when you make a new element it s hard to prove that you have made a new element, since it blights so hastily. Something else that I found interesting was that there are assorted experimental techniques that have been consumed to make different chemical elements. What are some properties of these artificial elements? Isotopes of assorted elements that are conceived unreally in accelerator experiments are known to be precarious and radioactive. After being assembled, they begin to blight, which is them changing into a separate isotope. As the atomic number of each new heavy element developments, the half life commonly decreases, meaning that artificial... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 45. The Synoptic Gospels Of Matthew, Mark, And Luke Many scholars and philosophers find themselves troubled when trying to make sense of the Synoptic Gospels found in The Holy Bible. These include The Gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. When looking at them side by side readers will see that they have many differences and similarities. This has resulted in what is called The Synoptic Problem; that is, how do we account for these similarities and differences? Scholars have come up with an applicable solution called the four source solution Theory. This theory proposes that The Gospel of Markwas the first Gospelwritten and among the sources that Matthew and Luke used but, there are stories in Matthew and Luke that are not parallel to anything in Matthew. Where did these stories come from? Scholars call this the Q Source, a probable oral or written account that the authors of Matthew and Luke may have used in their writing of their Gospels. Ehrman describes The Q Source as, The source used by both Matthew and Luke for the stories they share, principally stories not found in Mark. (pg.61) Also, there are stories that are found in Luke that did not originate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some of these include, Jesus speaking on his way to his crucifixion and speaking to a group of women. (Luke 23:28) Another example in the Gospel of Luke, is that Jesus is not as silent as the other Gospels portray him to be during his time of crucifixion. While being crucified he asks God to forgive those that are doing him wrong and speaks to a criminal being crucified beside him. He tells the man, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise. (Luke 23:42) One last example is the sun eclipse and torn curtain of the temple, directly after the death of Jesus. (Luke 23:45) These are just some of the sole differences that show up only in Luke. This would back up the statement that besides the Q source and Mark, Luke would have had other source(s) as
  • 46. The Issues With Organizational Communication Issues with Organizational Communication Crises are seen substantially as media events. Therefore media coverage whether they have been natural or man made; is indicative of how important, essential and even at times, how down right frustrating the media has been and will continue to be before, during and after a crisis. Many people tend to turn to the media and various different media sites (such as Twitter, Facebook, etc.) to gain pertinent information regarding an event that has taken place or that is on going. But this has not been done without any issues. When a crisis occurs sometimes emotions take over and all other plans go out the window. Communicationis nil at best which can mean that others will suffer. Organization and communication is the key to the response and recovery efforts of a disaster. At times before, during and after a disaster there is a lack of inter organizational networking and/or communication. Inter organization networks are increasingly portrayed as a more effective form of organization among businesses (Newell and Swan, 2000). This is essential for businesses in order to be effective in coordinating the work and required for the development of trust. This makes a huge difference in the response and recovery phase. During Hurricane Katrina crisis communication was a huge problem from which it overshadowed the disaster itself and its aftermath causing politicians and government officials to waste time arguing than trying to devise a plan to
