Future cities will rely more on robots and drones for security tasks that are too dangerous for humans. Robot drones will patrol cities around the clock, using advanced cameras and sensors to detect and track criminals from the air. They can also help locate hostages. Police officers will be replaced by robotic police officers, or "robocops", that have superior strength and speed to respond quickly to threats while also being able to carry sophisticated weapons systems. During natural disasters, robot animals equipped with advanced sensors will alert humans to impending dangers, while rescue robocops and drones use x-ray scanning to efficiently search rubble and locate victims. Special shelters will isolate and treat injured victims.
